The immense guilt I felt for turning down Todoroki's offer sat dormant in my gut for hours. A sickening wave of nausea crept in my stomach whenever the image of his facial expression disappearing behind the elevator doors made its way into my mind. The intense, head splitting pain that seemed so miniscule earlier had returned with a brutal vengeance. I buried my face in the bare, uncased pillow that was thrown lazily on the bed hoping that I would disappear into the darkness that was surrounding me. The sounds of casual chatter, and laughing from the hallway distracted me from my self loathing.

I heaved myself onto my back, and stared at the ceiling until the walls felt like they were closing in on me. I sighed, and swung my feet over the side of the bed. My head throbbed, and whirled when I stood, and I used the edge of the bed to steady myself. When I felt as if my bearings were in order I headed for the door. The hallway was full of loud, rambunctious students that had migrated to our floor from their own.

When I stepped out of my room I was nearly knocked over by a tall, blonde student with a tail, and another with the head of a bird.

"Miya?" someone called from behind me.

I spun around, and my stomach knotted. Kaminari was staring at me. His eyes were full of concern.

"Are you okay?"

He took a step closer, and kept his eyes on me.

"Yeah. I just-"

I faltered on the spot, and felt my legs start to give out.

"Woah, hey. Maybe you should sit down."

He put his hands gently on my arms to steady me, and the knot in my stomach tightened. His hands were warm, and made my skin tingle. His cheeks turned a deep shade of pink as he looked up at me.

"Thanks," I sighed, "I think I just need some air."

He took my hand as he led me through a crowd of students, and he kept a gentle hold on it as we climbed into the elevator. I watched him as he looked down at our hands, and when he noticed me looking he blushed deeply, and rubbed the back of his neck. The elevator doors slid open, and a girl with elongated earlobes looked between Kaminari and I. Her eyes shot open as they fell on our intertwined hands.

"Oh, hey Jiro." Kaminari waved at her.

She pushed past us, and stepped into the elevator.

"Asshole." she murmured before the doors closed.

His grip on my hand had gotten slightly tighter, and his pace had quickened as he led me outside.

"I bet you're wondering what that was about."

He sat me down on the steps in front of the building, but he stayed standing.

"You don't have to explain-"

"Jiro and I dated, but it ended," he paused, "badly. We were going to try and fix things between us, and if we couldn't we were going to stay friends."

The look on his face was a mix of guilt, and sadness.

"Everything was going great, and then," he looked down at me, "I met you."

I tilted my head in confusion.

"Me?"

"I don't know what it is, but I can't get you out of my head. There's something different about you."

He sat down next to me, and kept his eyes on the ground.

"I'm different?"

"Yes, but like in a good way."

I laid my head on my knees, and got lost in the hypnotic motion of the trees swaying in the wind. Just being with Kaminari was enough to ebb the guilt I had been feeling earlier.

"Hey."

I turned towards him, and his golden eyes were almost glowing in the light of the lowering sun.

"Tell me about your Dad."

I laughed, and he furrowed his brows. I instantly regretted it when I saw that he was serious.

"What is there to tell? He's a villain. He hates Pro Heros, and in his mind he has every right to."

I sighed as I thought of him, and felt an odd heaviness in my heart.

"He wasn't always bad. He admired Pro Heros so much that he wanted to be one. He fought so hard to keep that side of him after my Mother died."

He drew in a breath, and sympathy glistened in his eyes.

"She was killed by a Pro Hero. It was an accident, but it ruined my Father."

"Miya, I-"

"It's okay. I remember the small things. The smell of her hair, the way her eyes squinted when she smiled, but the rest of her is a distant memory that I've always struggled to see clearly. My Father used to tell me I look just like her though."

He laid his hand on top of mine, and the warm, tingly feeling that spread through my fingers was almost comforting.

"She must have been beautiful."

I felt my face get warm. It was an odd sensation that I momentarily struggled to understand. Maybe I was coming down with an illness, or maybe it was because it was a bit warm where we were sitting. It had to be something. Or maybe it was more than that.

I felt the knot in my stomach return. I looked down at his hand laying on top of mine, and felt a fluttering sensation in my chest.

He squeezed my hand, and smiled when I looked over at him.

"Feeling better?" he asked curiously.

I nodded, and gently squeezed his hand in return. The sun had dipped below the treeline, and the sky was starting to turn a deep shade of purple. Time seemed to stand still while we sat together. Even in the silence it was reassuring just to know that he was there.

"Well, isn't this cute?"

Bakugo stood behind us with his arms crossed, and a sinister smile on his face.

"The Villain Girl, and Dunce Face. How precious."

The metal feathers on my wings clanged together as they stood on end.

"What the hell is your problem?"

"My problem is that you're fighting that damn nerd, Deku, when you should be fighting me."

He took a step towards us in a threatening manner. Kaminari looked at me with concern.

"What's he talking about, Miya?"

"Nezu planned a fight between Midorya and I. Apparently Aizawa has some concerns about me."

"He's not the only one."

Bakugo snarled as he spoke, and his hands crackled as he took another step.

"Leave her alone, Bakugo."

Kaminari stood in between Bakugo and I protectively.

"Aw, protecting your girlfriend. I don't think Jiro would like that very much."

"Jiro and I are over."

Bakugo snickered.

"Because you broke up with her for a fucking villain."

Kaminari's body shuddered, and a current of bluish yellow electricity ran between his fingers.

"Don't." I whispered.

I stood beside him, and took his hand. The electricity wound around my wrist, and through my fingers.

"You have a lot more to lose if you get caught fighting."

The electricity stopped winding around my wrist, and his breathing slowed. He squeezed my hand gently.

"If you get caught then I lose you."

Bakugo lifted his hand above his head, and an explosion loud enough to echo in the distance rang out.

"She's a damn villain, Kaminari!"

"My Father is a villain. Not me."

He squinted his eyes as he looked at me, and grinded his teeth together.

"What's the difference?"

I quickly released Kaminari's hand, and pulled a feather out of my wings. I winced as I took aim at Bakugo.

"I am here stopping an altercation that would end badly for several students."

All Might's muscular figure appeared next to Bakugo, and placed a large hand on his shoulder.

"I don't need an explanation, but I do need to remind the three of you that you have class in the morning. Young Kaminari, I trust that you can escort Miss Suzume back to the proper dorm considering you both reside on the same floor."

"Yes, sir."

Kaminari bowed, and took my hand. We quickly made our way to the doors, and he sighed deeply when we climbed into the elevator. His demeanor seemed sad as he kept his eyes on the ground.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's just," he seemed to struggle with what he wanted to say," I wanted to spend more time with you. Everything was going great, and then Bakugo had to show up and ruin everything."

He kicked at the wall of the elevator lightly.

"You know," I started, "you still owe me that date."

He looked up at me with hopeful eyes and smiled happily. The doors of the elevator slid open on our floor, and wrapped his hand around mine. Before we went our separate ways I pushed myself onto my toes, and pressed my lips gently against his cheek.

"Thank you for tonight." I whispered.

He made an odd sound in his throat, and his body became rigid. His eyes were unfocused, and looked straight ahead. His lips formed into a half smile as he lifted his arms, and stuck his thumbs up.

"Hehehehehe."

"Yo, Kaminari I thought we could," Mineta rounded the corner, and spotted me, "Suzume. What a surprise."

He leaned up against the wall, and ran his hand over his round, purple hair. He spotted Kaminari, and his eyes boggled.

"Not again!"

He ran over, and took Kaminari by the arm.

"Don't worry, Suzume. He'll be fine. His brain is just fried. It happens all the time."

"Thank you for taking care of him." I said with a crooked smile.

Mineta blushed deeply, and led Kaminari down the hall to his room where he'd hopefully sleep off the accidental incident I had caused with just one kiss.
