We've told you about the magic side of this long saga. Now we need to tell you about the royal side. The King and Queen of this Kingdom, which was called Haven, were kind, wise and fair rulers. They were loved by their subjects and protected the land well. However, the one thing they lacked that would make their lives pure bliss, was a child. They had tried for many years, but no children ever came. Soon, a mysterious man appeared to them and told them he had a potion that would grant them a child. However, they were unaware of the man's true intentions.

"Are you sure you want to do this dear?" I looked at my husband. He was still unsure about taking the potion. I wasn't. I wanted to do this.

"Yes. I want children." I answered. I looked at the small bottle in my hands. It was slightly glowing blue. I took out a pin from my hair and pricked my finger. The man had said if we wanted one child, to add one drop of blood from either of us to the potion. If we want two, to add one drop from each of us. I took off the small cork and let the small droplet of blood fall into the potion. It flashes slightly and changed to a darker blue. I then handed the pin to my husband. He was still hesitant. "Do you want an heir to the throne? Do you want to be a father?" I asked, tears welling in my eyes.

"Of course I do." he answered, taking the pin from my hand. He pricked his finger and added the droplet of blood to the potion. It flashed once more and turned purple. I took a deep breath and drank the potion whole. I felt a small warm sensation in my stomach and then it faded.

"Now we wait." I said. The next nine months were the hardest I had ever experienced in my life, but it was all worth it when I finally held my two beautiful children in my arms. I gave birth to a son and a daughter. They were both so beautiful. My husband took our daughter and just looked at her.

"I can't believe it work. We have two beautiful children." he said.

"Yes. At last, we can truly be happy." I said.

"What shall we name them my queen?" my husband asked. I thought for a moment.

"We shall call our son Alexander. It means 'Protector of man'. He shall protect and defend the kingdom throughout his life." I said.

"Ah, perfect! A strong name for the future king of Haven." my husband said, happy with the name I had chosen.

"Why don't you pick a name for our daughter?" I suggested. My husband looked at our daughter and thought for a moment.

"I've got it. You shall be named Sara. Your name means 'joy', which is what you and your brother have brought to our lives and the lives of our people." he said. Alexander and Sara. Our children. A few weeks later, we presented Alexander and Sara to the people. Cheers echoed and roared through the air as everyone praised the children. We held a grand feast for the whole kingdom. Even the castle staff was invited. Many of the nobility brought amazing gifts for our children. At the height of the celebration, the palace doors opened and revealed the man who had given us the potion.

"Dear, it's the man who gave us the potion." I whispered. My husband turned and stood up from his throne.

"Ah, my good man!" he said. Everyone quieted down and turned their attention to the man. "I'm glad you have returned to my court. Thanks to you and your potion, my queen and I have two beautiful children. I must reward you for this great favor you've done. Name what you would like for your reward and it shall be yours."

"That's gracious of you my king. I believe I would like... one of your children." the man said. The room went dead silent. I stared at the man in disbelief. The color drained from my husband's face, but soon returned as anger became apparent in his voice.

"You sense of humor is very distasteful sir. I would advise you leave." he said. That's when the man started chuckling. Then the chuckling turned into full hysteric laughter. It sent chills down my spine.

"You're in no position to make demands anymore Your Highness. By enlisting my master's help, you owe him payment and that payment is one of your children." the man said.

"Who is your master?" I asked.

"He's known by many names, but you all know him as... The Monster." the man said. Gasps and frightened cried sounded throughout the room. The Monster? This man was his disciple? I had heard that The Monster would take children and turn them into his minions to carry out his work and help his following grow. Is that what he intended to do to one of my children?

"I don't care if you're master is that damned creature, you will not take either of my children to be another one of his slaves!" my husband yelled. The man laughed again.

"You think you can deny my master?" The man asked. The doors blew open as a black fog swept through the room. I threw myself over my children's cradle to protect them from the fog. It soon disappeared and the man was gone. "You can't hide them forever! One of your children will become my master's vessel!" Alex and Sara both started crying. I picked up Alex while my husband picked up Sara.

"Dear, what will we do? What if he comes back?" I asked trying to fight back tears.

"He can come back everyday for a hundred years, I will NEVER let him take our son or daughter!" my husband exclaimed. The next five years, we kept a close eye on our children. We had guards posted at their room, outside every window and door in the castle and around the wall that surrounded the castle. Our children grew up completely oblivious to the danger that threatened their lives. I worried about how long we could keep them safe.

Little did the monarchs know, their solution would soon come. More specifically, it would come to their children. The time has come for royal and magic lines to cross. Now, let the rest of the story unfold.
