Chapter 5: Ghostly scare
All Might theme plays.
*yawn*
After stretching his arms, Izuku got up from his bed, while he let the music play in the background. After making his bed and turning off the music, Izuku made his way to the bathroom.
"Hey, what are you up to?"
"AAHH" Izuku screamed and flailed his arms around as he heard the voice of a woman right beside him. He saw the same woman from last night, wearing the same clothes as before, staring at him with a surprised look. She was about to speak until they both looked off to the side after hearing a loud crashing noise coming from the kitchen.
"I-I-I-Izuku, What's wrong!? Are you okay!? Do you need the medical kit!?" Inko said as she frantically ran towards Izuku with a medical kit in her hands. "Oh crap kid, you gotta think of something quick!" Nana said to Izuku.
"Uh-oh I-i'm sorry m-mom, I-I thought I saw a...uh a Kappa, just now!" Izuku said in a panic. 'What?'
"Oh, are you sure you're okay?" Inko asked very worriedly. "Y-yeah, I'm sorry. It was just my imagination."
Inko then held a hand over her chest to try and calm her heart. "Okay then, I'm gonna go back to making breakfast then…" She then started to stumble her way back to the kitchen.
Izuku then sighed in relief as Nana looked at him, confused. 'Oh no, I was hoping that she wouldn't find out.'
"Uh, a Kappa?" Nana asked with a slightly amused smile on her face. "Y-yeah, I used to be afraid of it when I was a kid…" Izuku answered with his head down and whispering.
"Well, it worked so, I'm not gonna judge." Nana said while she shrugged her shoulders. After that little incident, Izuku went ahead and got ready for the day. Although, he was uncomfortable the whole time because of the woman that was looking over his shoulder and constantly asking questions about him. "So are you just afraid of frogs?" He really wasn't used to this kind of attention that wasn't either from his mom or negative attention from other people.
His reaction to most of the questions didn't go unnoticed by Nana. After quickly realizing how uncomfortable he looked, she quickly left towards the kitchen to see what the younger woman was making.
During breakfast, he was surprised that he didn't see her the whole time. 'Probably has something better to do right now.' Izuku concluded as he finished his breakfast.
"Bye mom, I'll see you after school." Izuku said, before waving goodbye. Not even two steps from his doorstep, Izuku was once again frightened by a voice near him. "Hey Midoriya, don't freak out now but I'm right next to you." Nana said.
"Woah, oh sorry I didn't mean to make too...much…" Izuku was immediately caught off guard to see that the ghost was wearing a very familiar outfit. "If you're wondering about this, well, for someone who wears the same thing everyday, your mom surprisingly has a lot of nice clothes." Nana said as she took another look at herself.
Izuku was a little weirded out to see that the ghost was wearing his mom's blue blouse and yellow skirt. "Why...are you wearing my mom's clothes?"
"I was bored, didn't have anything else better to do so I just took a look around your house. Side note, you have a stray cat behind that back alley." Nana said.
Not sure how to respond, Izuku only continued to walk to the bus stop with Nana following him. "So, where are we going?" Nana asked while floating around Izuku. Still not believing that something like this was happening to him, answered her question but feeling unsure of himself. "Oh well, I'm just gonna go to school...and then go home." Izuku said while rubbing the back of his neck. "Although, you don't have to go to me. You don't have to follow me to school."
"I could but I don't really have anywhere to go. Besides, I don't really mind going wherever you go." Nana said, with a small smile. Izuku was immediately embarrassed by her words, so much so that he had to cover his face with his arms.
"Th-thank you. I-I'll try not to waste your time." Izuku said. 'Oh my god. This precious cinnamon roll must be protected!'
Nana giggled at his reaction. "You don't have to worry about that, Midoriya. By the way, you might want to hurry and get to the bus stop." Nana said as she pointed forward. Izuku looked up to see that the few people around him were staring at him. Izuku immediately turned red and quickly ran away from the area.
"What a weirdo." A young boy, coming out of a Ramen shop said.
After getting away from the embarrassing situation, Izuku tried to calm down but still couldn't help but feel like he was still being looked at. Nana then reappeared to try to help Izuku, while also trying to control her laughter. "Pffft Hey Midoriya, you okay?"
Izuku wanted to answer her question but was too scared that someone would be listening to them now. 'Ah, I've got it.'
"Hold on Midoriya, let me try something." Nana said before flying to Izuku then immediately disappearing. After that weird feeling, Izuku looked around to try to find Nana but to no avail. "Sh-Shimura?"
"Right here, buddy." Izuku immediately flinched from suddenly hearing her voice. 'Please stop doing that.'
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you." Izuku started to look around. "Huh Where are you?" Nana only giggled at his confusion. "You know, I didn't expect this to work but it was definitely worth a shot." Nana said. Izuku was confused at first but then quickly realized what had happened.
'Are you in my head?' Izuku asked, in his mind.
"Yup, and hopefully I don't just fade into subconscious…maybe."
Nana was then surprised to see that Izuku's immediate reaction was not of shock; instead, he was absolutely intrigued. He pulled out a burnt notebook from his backpack and started to both write and mutter.
"If she could go inside my mind, does that mean she can control my body as well? Does she have other abilities like being able to protrude herself in mirrors? Can she go into my subconscious and manipulate me without me knowing? Can whatever I imagen, she can see? Does her quirk also affect her abilities? Wait, she's wearing mom's clothes, so does that mean she can interact with other physical things that aren't alive?"
"Hey, are you even breathing!?" Nana asked in a panic. "Oh s-sorry, I just like to take notes on quirks. This just seemed so interesting."
"You don't need to apologize, just please don't scare me like that."
The whole bus ride was nothing but Izuku writing and muttering while he was bombarding Nana with questions. Questions that Nana could only answer with 'I don't know', and Izuku apologizing, worried that he was annoying her. They were so lost in their own world that they didn't realize more people were staring at him while muttering.
"Man, that was a long bus ride/oh the bus ride is here already." Nana got out of Izuku's mind while rubbing her forehead, after being overwhelmed by the abundance of questions. "Wow, your mind really works fast. I don't think I can even think of half of that."
Izuku nearly responded to her but then remembered their agreement to not answer her whenever she's not in his mind. Mainly to save him from accidentally embarrassing him. 'I feel so guilty, it doesn't feel right for me to just ignore her.'
As they were walking, Nana noticed something in the corner of her eye that Izuku didn't. A girl with blue hair turned the corner but when she noticed Izuku, she gasped and ran away quickly. Nana frowned at what she saw, already having an idea on why she did. 'What kind of people are in this school?'
'Is she okay?' Izuku asked himself when he noticed the strange look on Nana's face, while she looked off to the side.
"Hey, deku." They both looked forward, seeing a kid with long hair walking towards him.
"Hey, so I heard that you actually tried to take the entrance exams for UA. If they let you take them, they must've just wanted to see a stupid, quirkless reject make a fool of himself." The boy said, mocking him.
'Who's this punk?'
The boy then put a hand on Izuku's shoulder. "Ya know, when you get that rejection letter, me and you are gonna end up in the same school."
"Oh yeah, you're right." Izuku said, putting his hand to get him from getting too close. Nana was forced to watch all this happen in front of her.
The boy then gave Izuku a nasty look, in an attempt to look intimidating. "Since Bakugo is gonna be in UA, you and I should spend more time together." He then put an arm around his shoulder, causing Izuku to get caught off guard by his sudden action. "So you better look for me the next time we get another project."
The boy then walked off, after giving Izuku a hard pat on the back. "Oh and I already know the teachers won't pay enough attention to you. So surely you can figure out a way for me to cheat off you."
Izuku only stood while he tried to regain his composure. "So, what was that all about?" Izuku looked up before realizing that he heard her voice in his head. 'Oh, that was my classmate.'
"He doesn't seem very nice. Is he always like this?" During the walk to class, Izuku had no choice but to explain how he was being constantly targeted by his classmates for having a useless quirk.
"Does your mom know about this?"
'N-no, she already worries about me as it is. I don't want to cause her any more anxiety.'
"I see. Midoriya, you know you don't have to take that from them. I may not know what your quirk is but, there's no quirk out there that can't be trained to be something great."
Izuku was left completely speechless, he couldn't believe that he met another person who actually believes in his abilities. 'I-'
"Midoriya here, pass these out and sit back down." A teacher said after dropping a stack of paper on his desk. "O-oh okay."
Wow, by the end of the school day, Izuku was actually happy leaving school. Today, he was not only left alone most of the day, but he also had someone talking to him.
Sure that person may have been an old ghost wearing his mom's clothes but beggars can't be choosers. Sure he didn't exactly talk to her, per say, but it was definitely better than not having anyone to interact with at all. At first it was weird but she very quickly made him feel comfortable talking with her.
Most of their conversations usually start by either Nana asking questions about himself or Izuku forgetting that she can hear his thoughts and ends up thinking of something that embarrasses him. For the first time in a while, he really enjoyed himself during school. He was genuinely surprised how fast school ended with no one bothering.
'Today was really nice.'
"Y-yeah, it was. But man, going back to school was really no fun, I forgot how boring it was. That bell couldn't have reigned any sooner. Also, what's with that teacher, "the bell doesn't dismiss you, I do!" then what's the bell for then?"
Izuku chuckled while she ranted. 'It took awhile for the teacher to let us go, but at least I made it to class on time.'
"You know, it's gonna be a while until the bus picks you up, why not get a drink?" Nana said, outside of Izuku's mind and pointing towards the convenient store across the street.
"Hmm, I guess a quick drink wouldn't hurt." Izuku said before crossing the street. "Hey, can you do me a favor and grab me a snack too?"
"Can you even eat and drink food?" Izuku asked while looking at her questionly. Nana only shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know but it can't hurt to try."
After both of them chuckled, they went ahead and bought the things they wanted. Figuring it'll be weird to see him next to a floating rice ball, they went to quickly hide in an alleyway. As soon as Nana tried to eat the rice ball, it went right through her and fell on the ground.
"...my rice ball." Nana said very sadly, while looking at the dropped food. Izuku on the other hand felt bad but also tried to stop himself from laughing. "Well, it was at least worth a shot."
"Yeah I guess." She said while still very sad. 'I'm so hungry…'
'Yeah, today really was fun.'
Today was...interesting, that's the best way Nana could put it. She got to know a little bit more about Midoriya, so that made today a good day. However, she very quickly noticed how Midoriya was treated by everyone. She already knew the true reason for this but she was still surprised to see how isolated he was.
During each class, she let Midoriya go through his classes without any distraction so she took a look around the classroom. Nothing really special until she overheard someone talk about Midoriya.
"Hey, so I heard you might have Midoriya in your school."
"Ha yeah, there's no way the idiot can make it into UA. If too many people don't know how smart he is, highschool will be a total breeze."
"Damn you're lucky, still don't know why you don't just go to UA and have Bakugo carry you through UA."
"Are you kidding, I tried to get into UA but they said my record immediately disqualified me from taking the entrance exams. That nerd better make himself useful and do all my work from now one. Afterall, what are classmates for?"
The other one only laughed as if he was speaking the truth. 'What do these guys think they can do to him?' Nana said with a scowl.
She then saw one of them make a paper ball and aim it at Midoriya's head. Out of instinct, she slapped the paper ball back to its sender before it hit its target.
"Ah what the hell?"
"Heh man you suck at aiming."
That was only the first class, things only got more annoying as time moved on. She didn't want to say anything to him because they both knew that she'll see eventually. This was a conversation that they needed to have but was best saved until they had some privacy.
She very nearly got too angry after seeing his locker. It was dented and burned, nearly nothing in there and the lock was broken. Not to mention, the marker writing saying worthless and quirkless.
'How...how can you act so casually about this!?' To Nana's surprise, Izuku simply reassured her that he was okay and that she should just let it go.
Then there were the looks, all those looks that they gave him, like he was some kind of weird creature that didn't belong. Did he just ignore them or did he not know they were glaring at him?
'Today's gonna be a long day.'
"Finally we made it back! I don't know how I made it through school the first time, that was totally boring." Nana said while stretching.
"Y-yeah, i-it's nice to be h-home." Izuku said nervously. Nana noticed this and asked if he was alright. "Hey, you alright?"
"Y-yeah, it's just...can you put change out of my mom's clothes now?"
She quickly realized that she was still wearing someone else's clothes. "Oh yeah, you're right. But you know, your mom's got some really good taste in fashion." She said before disappearing.
"Oh she's gone again."
Hmm. The last time she was gone, she was gone for a while. She could be gone for long enough to do that.
"…"
Izuku quickly went into his room and changed into a plain yellow shirt and black shorts. He then used his phone to play some upbeat music.
He put his hands on his hips and started to bounce with each beat. He then started to wave his hips side to side while counting.
"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight."
After counting, he started doing two lunges forward, then two lunges back while moving his arms up and down and counting over again.
"Ein, zwei, drei, vier, funf, sechs, sieben, acht."
He then squatted down a few times and stayed squatted down with his hand behind his back and started hoping
"Li, ryan, san, suu, uu, roo, chii, paa.." He then got up and started to wave his hands in different positions.
However, after counting to eight, he saw that Nana was standing in front of the door. "Ahh!" Izuku screamed and backed up when he noticed Nana was staring at him.
"Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to scare you again, but what kind of calisthenics was that?"
Izuku quickly calmed down a little, knowing that she wouldn't make fun of him. "Oh...it's called angel calisthenics, and it's supposed to be good for your shoulders. I read about it almost 10 months ago for my training."
"Angle?" she said curiously.
"Y-yes, after you're done, apparently you feel like an angel." Izuku said while trying to cover his face. "It's pretty popular with some people."
"Ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, sebun, hachi."
They were both bending up and down while crossing their arms.
"Uno, due, tre, quattro, cinque, sei, sette, otto." At the end of their dance, they started to wave their hips from side to side.
"Yeah, my shoulders do feel a little lighter. I can see why you like to do them."
Izuku looked at her excitedly. "Yeah, it definitely helped me out while I was training."
Nana then floated towards Izuku's bed and sat down. "I wish I knew about that, back when I was training my student."
Hearing that made Izuku realize that there was so much he still needed to know about her. "I-i'm sorry, I didn't ask earlier, just what was your life back then?"
"You don't need to apologize, but my life wasn't all that special. I was a quirk analyst and I died pretty young. I never really had a family of my own and only had a few close friends. As you know, I did have a student who wanted to be a hero, but...there's nothing I can say that'll help."
"I...see, well do you remember how or when you died?" Izuku asked.
"Honestly, no. I remember most of my life but anything before my death was all a blur." She cupped her chin and looked like she was thinking. "I do remember leaving work and hearing a loud bang."
"Hmm. Who was your student that wanted to be a hero?"
She lied down on the bed and started to kick her legs. "I really don't know much, he didn't trust me too much and we only knew each other for a year at most. Although, I haven't exactly kept track of time but my best guess is that he should be a young adult." She then sat up and looked at Izuku, with a frown. "Before we talk about that, I wanted to talk to you about school."
Izuku looked at her nervously, she should have known that this would have been brought up sooner or later. Even if it was him, she doesn't know anything about him, so it's only natural for an adult to be worried...for now.
"Hmm strange."
"Hey, Nezu. I'm here, what did you want to talk about?" A very tired man asked as soon as he entered the room. "Oh, Aizawa, thank you for coming in such short notice. I merely wish to speak with you about a student in your class."
"It's not like you to make mistakes. Don't tell me that you put a kid with no potential in my class." Aizawa said.
"It's not that. It is about a student, but not what you think. I may be overthinking this, but there's something odd about this student's record." Nezu said as he handed the paper of a green haired boy's record to Aizawa.
"You think that he faked his records? Seems irrational for him to make his grades just pass, but still leave in the history of disruptive behavior." Aizawa said with an irritated look on his face.
"Yes, I thought that too until I reviewed the footage of the written exams." He then motioned Aizawa to look at the footage on his tablet. "He very clearly took the exams, no different than anyone else. However, I noticed that he completed his exam before anyone else, but he didn't turn in his exam until at least half of the other students turned in their exams." Nezu explained.
"Was it because he cheated and didn't want to look suspicious?"
Nezu shook his head in response. "No, I can clearly see that he simply went over his test and checked his answers. After he turned in his exams, he got one of the highest scores out of everyone who took the exams. I'm certain that he didn't cheat, like some of the others who did."
"If he didn't cheat, what does this have to do with anything? The only noteworthy thing about him is his uncontrollable quirk."
"It's the fact that despite his high scores. Aside from one or two classes each year, his grades are always below average. Even if he studied, day and night, there's no believable way he could have gotten a score that high without cheating."
"Are you going to expel him as soon as the school year starts?"
Nazu looked at him with a bewildered look. "Goodness no, that would be too cruel. Since he'll be in your class, I want you to look closely at his behavior."
Aziawa looked very annoyed at this. "Please tell me your kidding."
"Of course not. I know that you'll be perfect for this task." Nezu then got off from his desk and headed towards the door.
"What if you're right about this? What are you planning to do if he didn't cheat at all?"
"Well, obviously I'm going to investigate more on this. Someone is not being honest with his record. The question is, who?"
As Nezu left, Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. "*Sigh* I don't get paid enough for this." Before he left, he took one more look at the kids file. 'This kid better not give me any more trouble than he already is.'
"Why exactly are you being bullied in school?" Nana asked him gently.
Izuku thought about trying to deny it but since she was with him the whole time, she must've seen how differently he was treated. 'Even if she gets to know about me, she won't make fun of me since she won't know I was quirkless, right?'
"Well...for a long time, my quirk was always too dangerous for me to use. It's a powerful stockpiling quirk but it ends up breaking my bones. I've mostly been treated like I was quirkless since I can't use my quirk without getting hurt." Izuku explained.
"I see, so you are treated differently from your classmates because of that, right?" Nana concluded. Izuku nodded as confirmation. "I don't know if you're aware of this, but people who are quirkless are treated less than others."
Nana took a very deep breath. "Unfortunately I do. I can't say that I knew completely what happened to them, but even I could see that most were being mistreated."
Before Nana could speak further, Izuku promptly spoke up. "Oh but I wasn't really quirkless! I just couldn't control my power just yet at that time!" Izuku said while waving his hands. Nana very quickly noticed how defensively he said that. "You said that pretty quickly, I wasn't gonna think less of you even if you were quirkless. I've had people close to me who were quirkless so it's nothing to be ashamed of."
"Oh I know, I just...thought I should clear that up." He said sheepishly. "I just wanted to make sure that there isn't a misunderstanding."
Nana sighed once again, she was continuously worried about him the more she learned about him. "But were serious...about what you said this morning. That there isn't a quirk that can't be great?" Izuku asked.
Nana looked at him for a moment before answering his question. "Well of course, quirks are essentially an extension of ourselves. Much like the muscle under our skin, quirks can be improved on and made to adapt into almost any condition. Yours is no different from anyone else's." With no here to interrupt this time, he had the chance to properly absorb her words. Even though he was quirkless, it was strange to hear any words of encouragement that weren't from his mom. But lately, ever since the end of entrance exams, he was feeling like he wasn't worthy of even attending to control One for all. Maybe, he could if he tried his best, right?
Nana then got up and walked towards Izuku and put a hand on his shoulder. Izuku looked down very nervously since he wasn't comfortable with people being so close to him. "I think the mistreatment you got was very undeserved. You're a good kid, with big dreams and the will to work hard for them. No matter what the reason was, there's no one who is okay to hurt."
"I...thank you, I really appreciate that."
"...were you really a quirk analyst?" Izuku asked nervously.
"Oh yeah!" Nana said excitedly. "I have been very interested in studying quirks since I was young. So it was obvious that I wanted to get a career all about quirks! I don't mean to brag but I'm kind of an expert when it comes to quirks." Nana said with a big smile.
Izuku being Izuku was immediately starry eyed as he was very interested in learning more about her career. "Wow really!? What kind of quirks did you get to learn about!?"
Nana laughed as she told him to slow down a bit, it was nice to hear him smile like this, despite what other people think of him. "Hey, I'll answer all your questions. Just breathe, oaky."
The rest of the has been a rather peaceful time for both Izuku and Nana, despite her looking jealousy at their food. 'Can she even get hungry?' Izuku asked himself while he ate his fish.
After Izuku finished eating, he grabbed his weights and turned on the TV. As he started doing some light training, he turned the channel to an old cartoon from the pre quirk era.
"Wait so if all the airbender's are gone, then how did he survive?" Nana asked as she was watching TV with Midoriya. "It'll be explained soon."
They both looked towards the door when they heard it slam open and Inko crawling on the floor. "Izu-Izu-Izu…! Izu-Izu-Izu...Izuku!" Nana couldn't help but giggle at the scene. 'What's up with this family?'
"It's here! It came!" Inko said as he held up a letter with UA's symbol on it. Izuku started at the envelope blankly at first. "Hey Midoriya, don't just sit there. Hurry and open it!" Nana said while shaking his shoulder. "Oh...right."
Izuku went straight towards his room after grabbing the letter, with Nana and his mom following him. After closing the door, Inko started pacing back and forth as she waited patiently. "Rude." Nana said as phased through the door.
She was quickly met with Izuku sitting down in front of desk while staring at the envelope. "Well, gotta eat that horse sooner or later." Nana said as she floated above him. 'Right!'
Using all the power he could muster, Izuku tore open the letter.
"I am here as a projection!"
"wha-All Might!?" Izuku said, shocked. 't-Toshinori…'
"All Might is working at UA?"
'I see, so you chose that place to originally find a successor.'
"Even if you passed the written exam, you got zero points on the practical exam. Of course, that means you didn't pass." After hearing that, Izuku just felt frustrated with himself. While Nana was also frustrated with the outcome. 'Damn it. I'm sorry, I wish they could see how deserving you are to go there.' She then focused her frustrations towards her predecessor. 'Toshinori, you oaf, couldn't you have broken the news a little better!?'
'I knew that already...it's still so frustrating!'
"Hey, Midoriya…"
"If that was all there was to it! First, take a look at this video!" They looked at the projection, once again to see a girl with brown hair walking towards a teacher. "The nice person?"
"Um, the person with curly hair and freckles...kinda plain looking." she said, trying to describe Izuku. 'Plain looking!?'
"She means me!" Izuku said in realization. "That's what made you figure it out!?" They were both left surprised that she was willing to give up some of her points for Izuku, not only for rescuing her but also because she knew he didn't have enough points.
During all this, Izuku couldn't stop thinking about the words from the people he's met so far. From his mom, Kachan, death arms, All Might and most recently, Shimura. "How can a hero course reject people who save others and do the right thing?"
"Izuku Midoriya, sixty rescue points!"
"See? I knew you'd pass, Midoriya!" Nana said happily. He...he really did it. He really made it to the school that will be the beginning of his hero career. He was so surprised that he couldn't hear what else All Might was saying.
"Hey come on, we gotta go tell your mom about this." Izuku was finally pulled back into reality by Shimura, who encouraged him to go and tell his mom.
When Izuku opened the door, he was met with his mom looking at, eagerly waiting to hear the news. He gave her a simple but fulfilled smile. This caused her to look at him with teary eyes. "Oh Izuku! My baby!"
Despite being tangible, she moved out of the way to let the kind woman hug her son. As the two hugged each other, Nana looked at the two with a small smile. 'Wow, they both look really happy together.'
Izuku didn't notice that Nana had a sad smile on her face. "Come on Izuku, I'm going to make your favorite food to celebrate!" Inko said while pulling her son towards the kitchen. "Wait mom, you don't have to do that now."
Nana simply stared at them, as they left her at Izuku's doorstep. "Yeah...you guys look like a small...but great family." She said very sadly.
…
The next day, both Izuku and Nana were in school again and just survived another class together. "Oh Midoriya, Bakugo, the principal wants to see you in his office." After looking at him questionly, they both nodded and walked towards the principal's office together.
Normally, Izuku would feel nervous and awkward walking side by side with Kacchan. However, right now it is different because of one person. "What are you so nervous about? Pretty sure he's gonna give you a reward for being a good student."
'Oh no, I'm sure it's about something else. I just hope it's not about anything bad.' Izuku thought. "Oh come on. What could you do that would get you in trouble?"
As Izuku was having a conversation with Nana, Bakugo glanced at him, only to see him with a neutral expression on his face. Bakugo's brows furrowed as he stared at deku's arrogant face 'This bastard, the hell are you so calm about? Damn nerd.'
Once they made it, they were both greeted with a friendly face of their principal. "Thank you for coming, you two. I'm sure your wondering why-"
"Just get on with it. I want to get home soon." Bakugo interrupted. "Right. I just wanted to congratulate not just one of you, but two of our students making it into UA."
"O-Oh, thank you very much, Sir."
'What!?' Bakugo thought as he glared at Izuku. 'You bastard!'
"Now, just because you two made it into such a prestigious school, doesn't mean I don't expect you two to behave yourselves. Afterall, you'll still be representing our school's reputation." As he finished speaking, glanced over at Izuku with a knowing look.
After their conversation, they were excused from his office. "Hey, Deku, come with me."
"O-Oh, Kacchan, I really-" Izuku was then being dragged by Bakugo. "Hey, he can't just do that! Midoriya, don't just take that!" Nana yelled inside Izuku's head.
Izuku didn't know what to think because of the nervousness he felt Kacchan and Nana yelling at him. As soon as he was dragged behind the school, Izuku was put against a wall by Kacchan.
"You damn bastard! I warned you not to even apply to UA! I was supposed to be the only one from this garbage school to get in! You ruined everything!"
This again. It was the same thing every time. No matter what he does, it was always a mistake in his eyes. The only reason he wanted to go to UA was because he wanted to be a hero who saves people with a smile on his face. Not to prove anything to anybody.
But now that he was given a chance to go to his dream school, all of a sudden it's wrong for him to even try.
"You're a good kid, with big dreams and the will to work hard for them."
"This is power that you earned because of your own effort."
He was scared, sure, but he couldn't lie back and have someone underestimate his efforts. He had to stand up for-
"Let go of me…" Izuku said as he grabbed Bakugo's wrist. "What did you say?" Bakugo said, slightly surprised. "I said, let go of me!" Izuku said, slightly louder.
Bakugo was so taken aback that he lost his grip, which gave Izuku the chance to break free and walk away.
'What the hell? What the hell was up with his eyes?'
After getting far enough away and hiding behind another wall, Izuku stopped to catch his breath. "Wh-what was that!?"
"I'm so sorry Midoriya! I just couldn't sit there while that was happening and I think I took over your body without permission. I'm so sorry!" Nana bowed as she profusely apologized to Izuku.
"You...possessed me?" Izuku asked as he looked down at Nana. Nana immediately grew nervous, thinking he was angry with her. "Y-yeah, please don't be mad! I couldn't help myself."
"Oh no, it's not that!" Truthfully, he wanted to be the one to actually stand up to Bakugo for once. He really thought that he was about to take Shimura's advice to actually not let himself be put down. But to have someone stand up for him, felt just as nice. It felt like someone was really looking out for him, beside his mom.
"I-it's just that...I didn't expect that you could do that. It felt weird but I'm grateful." Izuku said as he tried to calm her down. "Y-yeah it's no problem but it was still uncalled for me to do that. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?" Nana asked
"No, really I'm okay. Let's just get out of here before anyone sees us." After nodding in agreement, they both left the school with home in mind. Despite the odd situation, Izuku couldn't but look back at the before it was out of sight. This was going to be one of the last times he'll even set foot on this school. He wanted to say that it was a bitter-sweet feeling but deep down, he was happy.
Not only to be going into UA but also most likely never seeing this place again. Finally, he can leave behind his past and begin to pave the road to his future, as a real hero.
Petit Hero: The ghost whisperer.
"Yup, I'm the ghost of someone who lived here a long time ago." A mysterious, black haired woman said, inside Izuku's room.
"Wha-what!? You're a ghost!?" Izuku asked, with his hands up.
"Now that's a lie." Now it was the mysterious woman's turn to be startled as they both heard the voice of a man behind her. She turned around to see a large, middle aged man in formal attire, randomly appearing out of nowhere. "I've lived here the longest and I've never seen you before." The man said.
"Huh!? Who are you!?" Nana yelled. "I think you owe us an explanation first." Like before, she was startled when she heard another voice but from a woman. Nana turned around to see a larged, curly haired woman in front of Izuku. "What is going on here!?"
"It seems that another unsatisfied spirit returns to the overworld." A boy with dark hair and a skull shirt said as he appeared next to Nana. "Holy crap! Okay you are a child!" Nana said as she was starting to get annoyed from getting scared by these random people.
"I think we should all calm down now." A tall, thin man, also in formal attire, said as he appeared next to the large man. He didn't have anything noteworthy about him...is what she wanted to say until she noticed that his pants were down and had his was necktie was backwards.
"..."
"I swear, it's not what it looks like-"
"Okay, I don't even want to know what your deal is." Nana said, grossed out.
"It's okay Midoriya, we'll take care of this." The curly harried woman said. "You just go and focus on your studies."
"Uh okay, Miss Ryuzaki." Even after being in this situation four different times, Izuku still didn't know what to think of this. It was honestly better for them to deal with this than him.
"Hold on! What the hell is going on here!?" Nana exclaimed. "Who are you people!? And why are you all in here!?"
"Woah there Miss, if we all calm down, then we can all just get this straightened out." The tall man said.
Izuku decided to do his studying in the living room. 'Maybe they can sort things out better than I could'
Alright so I thought of this randomly but if you saw episode 109 of the anime, then you saw what toga's quirk can do, if not, don't read. So if she drinks Izuku's blood, can she be the one to confirm the theory that all for one took Izuku's quirk when he was younger if she were to breathe fire or something? But more likely, she'll definitely die if she tries to use his quirk, like all might have said. So if that happens, that technically makes her a user of one for all. So if she dies, and shigaraki becomes good or dies or whatever and all for one dies, will toga ever come back in the future by being the surprise main villain or even an unexpected ally? I know this is random but I just had to ask this, what do you guys think of this and do you think it's possible for this to happen? Oh and thanks for reading or whatever.
