![]() Author has written 6 stories for Danny Phantom, X-Men: The Movie, Teen Titans, and Anime X-overs. Name: Some Guy 329756789-01A Age X21 Occupation: Professional Student and Gamer Personal Summary: I like a lot of things, namely well-written stories and occasionally writing. if i get the Urge to i'll be sure to write something and post it, but the goal of getting an account here is to leave reviews that can't be deleted because people don't like what i have to say. i have very little doubt that eventually i'll "get into trouble" because someone got "offended" at what i have to say about their story. I do not leave reviews that are complimentary unless I feel it is worth complimenting. I have High Standards, and i hold myself to them and fully expect that my stories, should i ever feel like sharing them, will not be fully positively reviewed. there will be negative and fully destructive reviews which, in the end, help me get better no matter what. what is needed is the idea that someone can ask: "What did I do wrong?" and receive an answer. i fully understand the concept of getting pissed off when someone doesn't even listen when you try to help in the only way you know how to. Not everyone can be positive, or even constructive. sometimes people honestly don't know how to be anything but destructive. its like a tornado. when you rebuild the story after the storm has passed you're gonna end up taking the chance of Tornadoes into account next time and your story will be stronger for it. Don't get me wrong, I also understand how frustrating a completely negative review is. this is *why* i originally left only anonymous reviews under this same name. It was to allow people the chance to delete my reviews for valid reasons. i understand that i have a very harsh way of reviewing and I'm not entirely positive (or at all in some cases) but this is not because i want to be mean. it is simply how i speak. if you were to hand me a copy of a story in physical form and ask me what i thought I'll always respond the same way as i would via reviews. i ascribe to the policy of Honesty above all else, since lying is such a horribly damaging practice when giving input on a story. Here is my grading scale, Everything is out of 10. Originality: How original is your story? how does it deviate form the usual? i don't care if you're using plot devices that have been used 1,000 times before or not, if you write something well it can become original. Characterization: Do you stay true to the characters you are using? i understand the concept of Character Development, but you must at least start with the same character as the base. EX: Giving Harry Potter an entirely new personality form the get-go and giving him Naruto-esque ninja powers and taking away his actual Magic whilst simultaneously expecting us to believe that it's Harry Potter will get you a low grade on this one. Mary-Sue-ness: Does your story employ the use of a character who cannot do anything wrong, or when something does go wrong it *always* goes their way and winds up being only a minor inconvenience? In the end this is what gets a lot of stories onto my "burn it with Fire" listings. This grade is a negative grade, the higher the number, the lower the final grade. Action: How much action does your story employ and how well does it work? how well does the action fit into the story? Dialogue: How well does your story use character interactions? how well does the interaction fit the characters? does a character say something that would make no sense whatsoever when compared to their character? (Harry Potter using slang/ghetto-talk for example) or does a character say things that move the story along without making huge leaps of logic that would make things done by stunt-drivers seem tame and reasonable by comparison? There are more, but that's the general idea. i hope that's clear. In stories: I don't mind bad reviews. bring it on. but please at least include something i can use later to help. if you leave nothing but what i've done wrong, then i can work on it. even if you leave me nothing of how to fix it, it still helps more than "this story sucks" or "You suck." or even better, "Take this piece of crap down!" if your going to leave a review, tell me what you liked, tell me what you didn't like and tell me what might be fun to see. If you have a thought of how the plot will go, tell me! i enjoy seeing people's thoughts. Planned Projects: Exalted x-overs with: Naruto (use of Infernal Exalted) Harry potter (use of both Sidereal and Infernal, Voldemort is an Abyssal if there ever was one), Other ideas to come when they strike me. Bleach stories, maybe. not really sure where to take that one. Pokegirls. All I have to say. anyone who knows what I'm talking about will know what I'm talking about. (tautology wins because tautology wins.) Other possibilities might come when they strike my fancy. As an aside: I promise NOTHING in terms of quality. I promise nothing in terms of appropriateness of the things written. I promise nothing in terms of reality. I own literally nothing. |
