we're back! I can't believe how busy I've been, ugh! I hope yall have been enjoying my one-shots here and there bc I feel so bad that I haven't been updating this story!
I feel like this and Hazy are a priority in the sense of stories that need to be finished before I finish anything else,, or start anything else for that matter!
Pleaaaaase enjoy and let me know what you think!
Natsu flopped onto his bed, groaning as Lucy threw his uniform at him.
"Come on, Lucy," He whined, kicking his feet in the air as he rubbed his tired eyes. "It's literally three hours before school, we don't have to be up this early!"
"That's what you said last year and I listened to you! Erza almost threw a sword through your window because you talked me into falling back asleep!" The star stamped her foot and glared at the sleepy dragon.
"I remember that nap," Natsu snickered, turning over to grab his pillow. "I had a super cool dream! I was as big as the school and squashed Macao-sensei with my foot!"
"Mhm, get dressed and then you can fall back asleep, okay? We don't have to be up till seven, but you should get dressed earlier than last year."
"Luce, it's four in the morning, you need to learn to trust me more," Natsu grumbled, begrudgingly standing up and shuffling himself into the bathroom. Lucy shook her head and climbed into Natsu's bed, already dressed in her uniform. Better safe than never, since she didn't want to be dragged onto campus by the speedy dragon before the last bell rang. Too many people already knew her name because of him.
She laid her head against his pillow, sighing with a smile, comforted by his scent. She would never get tired of how calming it was, unlike his personality. It was sweet, like nitroglycerin. And woodsy like a campfire burning in the woods. She liked it best when Natsu held her, his head buried in the crook of her neck, her nose tickled by his hair.
Lucy shrieked as Natsu jumped in beside her, his hand quickly covering her lips.
"Oi, oi, you're gonna wake everyone up, shush," He whispered, adjusting himself comfortably. "Geez, these are uncomfortable to sleep in."
"At least we'll be on time even if you do sleep in."
"Yeah yeah, I'd rather be on time than get run through with Erza's blumenblatt."
"Just go to sleep, mkay?" She yawned, cozying up on his bicep. "We have a long day ahead of us."
Natsu was about to playfully argue back, instead, purring as Lucy began to scratch the sensitive spot at the base of his neck.
"Oh... that's just mean…"
Lucy woke up as a stream of sunlight fell across her eyes, stirring her from the warm slumber that hopefully didn't wrinkle her uniform too much.
Natsu's arms were wrapped tightly around her, his nose pressed right against her cheek. It was definitely a lot cuter when they were younger, but his charms no longer lied in the tiny fireball he once was.
"Wake up, Natsu," She grunted, shoving him away from her, choking out a laugh as he pulled her right back in his arms. "Don't be like that, it's almost seven!"
"Almost," He mumbled back, snickering as he knew she rolled her eyes. "Almost, Luce."
"I was gonna make you breakfast," She hummed, smiling as he shot right up. "Remember? Everyone's coming over today."
"I get first dibs then, okay? So gray goes last, that's the only way I'll agree to getting out of bed."
"Natsu, you're already brushing your teeth!" She laughed, the dragon waving her off.
"Semantics," He shrugged. "Hurry up, I don't wanna be late!"
Lucy made Natsu wait in the living room, the dragon grumbling to himself about wanting to help. But the last time she let him in the kitchen, he burnt the strawberries he was slicing while trying to show Happy a new trick he learned.
The blue cat spent the night with Wendy, upset with the two that had to go back to school the next day. He was always so bored when the school year picked up again, never having as much as he did when they were together.
He spent a lot of time outside of the house as well, as the gang grew up. However, he found it annoying to watch them study or snuggle with each other, running off to a place he was too embarrassed to tell anyone about.
However, he refused to miss a meal that Lucy promised to make, always home in time for his smoked salmon.
Natsu ran to the door anytime someone knocked, the duo first greeted by Levy and Gajeel, his cousin looking a little rough and a little like a book had been thrown at his head.
"Wake up late?" Lucy held her laugh as Gajeel flopped against the couch, throwing a glare towards her.
"None of your business, bunny girl," He grunted, laying his head back to close his eyes. "I don't want a fight from you, either, Salamander, so leave it."
"A headache wouldn't stop me, but okay." Natsu lifted his hands in surrender. "I'll be quiet so I don't hurt your ears, princess."
"Don't even think about it, Gajeel," Levy said with a stern voice, keeping the metal dragon from responding in any way, his fist falling at his side.
"I'll tell you later, Lu-chan," She sighed, flipping open a book as she sat at the kitchen table. "I might need to take the whole day to calm down."
"I think I can guess." She held back her laugh, recognizing the dramatic pout the pixie bore.
Juvia and Gray were the next to arrive, Natsu bursting out in laughter as the winter sprite shoved past him.
"Don't laugh! Gray-sama looks so cute with his ears!" Juvia whined as she followed behind Natsu, who doubled over and slid against the wall as he walked. "And his tail!"
"I'll freeze the rest of you if you even mention it!" Gray hissed as he slumped onto the couch beside Gajeel, his ears bouncing slightly as he crossed his arms. Lucy resisted the urge to aww, his husky-like ears pointing up and out of his hair, his tail curling around his waist. "It's not my damn fault there was a fucking full moon last night."
"At least you don't go outside and howl in the middle of the night anymore," Lucy said, hiding her grin from the annoyed sprite. "Your howling was always so annoying."
"Juvia thinks his howls are cute," The mermaid sighed lovingly as she bent over the counter peering into the kitchen. "And he was so sweet, Gray-sama is always so sweet when he transforms. We cuddled all n—"
"Keep it to yourself! I wasn't in the right mind!" His blush was enough to lift Gajeel's spirits, the two dragons snickering happily at his momentary misfortune.
"Juvia's surprised Erza-san isn't here yet, did she call ahead?"
"No, but I figured she was going to show up with Cana since she likes to oversleep."
"That or Irene is taking a bunch of pictures again." Natsu shuddered at the thought, remembering the endless amount of photo opportunities she found for them as kids. They would spend at least an hour posing around Erza for her multitude of scrapbooks.
"She texted me last night and said Jellal came over to give her a cake. It was a present for her securing the Vice President position this year." Levy hummed, subsiding her anger to gossip with the others.
"Eh? Juvia didn't know, that's so sweet!"
"The two of them are so obvious, it's killing me." Lucy shook her head as she sighed.
"Speaking of obvious," Levy mused, interrupted by the door suddenly flying open.
"That's enough, mom, thank you!" Erza shouted behind her as she shoved Cana in before her.
"Geez, I swear that woman is just as bad as Gildarts." The brunette shivered, running to Lucy's side for comfort.
"Is the food ready yet, I'm starving," Natsu whined as he stood up.
"In a minute, don't rush me."

The small group of close friends went to a school run by the famed mage guild, Fairy Tail. All major guilds in Fiore were granted an educational system, to train those interested in becoming adventurers when they were older. It was a good way to guarantee a job, a good way for young adults to travel the world while experiencing a life unknown to suburbia.
The school reflected its founder, a massive building with massive classrooms built for their aggressive student body. It almost looked like a castle to some. It had three floors for each year, and a fourth-floor that was off-limits to all, aside from staff.
Although the school aimed to have its student body join the guild after graduation, they provided education that wasn't solely centered on the outside world or its dangers. They still studied the normal subjects, much to Natsu's annoyance.
"No! Argh, I'm going to talk to the headmaster right now! I can't put up with this anymore!" Natsu shouted, Lucy and the rest of the gang rolling their eyes.
"Natsu, please calm down," Lucy sighed, already used to the unfortunate reality that the two would never be put in the same class. "We'll be right down the hall from each other. So it won't be that bad."
"You say that every year," He pouted, letting his head fall on her shoulder as she gently rubbed circles onto his back. "Doesn't mean it doesn't suck."
"Enough with the love fest, the bell is about to ring." Cana interrupted, sticking her tongue at the dragon as she began to drag Lucy away.
"I made you lunch, so just wait, hm? I'll see you later!" The star called out behind her, the girls separating themselves as they headed towards their classroom.
"Wait," Gajeel called out to Levy, the pixie begrudgingly stopping in her tracks. She turned swiftly on her heel, glaring at dragon ale ready towering over her. "I wanna apologize."
"Right now? I'd rather not be late for class." She frowned and looked away, doing her best to hide her blush.
"Come on, I don't want to be fightin' with you all day," He grumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets. "I'm sorry for walkin' in on ya. And for…I was only jokin' okay? I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I think you're real pretty with that flat chest of—"
"S-Shut up, oh my god!" She whisper-shouted, stomping on his foot. "I accept your apology, I know you didn't mean it, you idiot."
"Can I still come over after school?" He asked, taking a small step forward, smirking slightly as she became flustered. "I wanted to hold ya, that's why I came over early."
"We'll walk back together," She mumbled, quickly walking away before her face lit on fire. "I'll see you at lunch."
"Text Juvia if anyone gives Gray-sama a hard time, okay? Gray-sama's ears are so cute!" The sprite turned away from the mermaid yelling as she walked into the school, Natsu snickering as his tail wagged happily behind him.
"At least all of us are in the same class," Erza hummed, walking beside the group. "Although, I think it's unfortunate that I won't be able to keep an eye on the boys. I hope I don't hear anything about them falling asleep in class."
"Hey, Miss. Vice President," The valkyrie let out a yelp as a swift hand hit her back. "We were looking for you!"
"S-Simon, Jellal," Erza held in her excitement to see the fallen spirit, smitten by the sight of his sweet smile. "Good morning."
"Good morning, you don't mind if we borrow you, do you? There's just something we have to take care of in the student council room." Jellal said, his kind smile making Erza weak in the knees.
"Go ahead with her, Mr. President. You three have fun, hm?" Cana smirked as they left the trio, continuing on their way towards their classroom.
"It's just some last-minute paperwork we have to fill out," Simon hummed, his arm brushing against the redheads as they walked side by side. "I can drop you off at your classroom afterward, whaddya say?"
"I'd prefer if I didn't make you late for class, even if it's student council business."
"Oho, always so straightforward." Jellal laughed, Simon biting back his feelings as she blushed. He could never pull that response from her.
"Then I'll pick you up for our meeting after school, yeah? It's on my way." He suggested, Erza playfully rolling her eyes.
"Sure, why not."
Lunch rolled around quickly, Lucy expecting Natsu to burst through the door as soon as the bell rang.
"Let's just meet them in the courtyard where we usually eat," Cana suggested, ignoring the grumpy face Juvia was making.
"But Gray-sama was going to pick Juvia up, he promised!" The mermaid whined, trudging after her friends with a rain cloud over her head.
"It's not any different if we just meet there," Levy shrugged, gently consoling the other blunette. "We only have so much time to eat."
Lucy felt her heart falter for a moment, a green tinge forming around her heart that thankfully no one could see.
Had she ever seen Natsu with his arm around another girl? Their close friends, sure, but someone she didn't know? A cute girl with a light smile who hugged Natsu the way she hugged Natsu.
The star shook her head, pushing away the feeling of her childish jealousy. As soon as Natsu saw her, his smile grew brighter than the sun, squashing that momentary blip in her chest.
"Look who moved back! It's Lisanna!"
"Lisanna!" The three who knew her ran forward, welcoming their old friend with a warm hug.
"Ah! It's so good to see you all again!"
"I didn't know you were moving back to Magnolia, what happened?" Levy asked as they all got settled and sat down to eat.
"The school offered my big sister a job, so she decided we should move back. Elfman and I were going to a normal high school, we didn't even think about studying with a guild. We all thought it was a good idea and I was really excited to see all of you again, so here I am!"
"And she's in our class, that's why we came down without you guys, to make it a surprise!" Natsu said, roping his arm around Lucy as he began to eat.
"Gray-sama still should have come to get Juvia, she was waiting," Juvia huffed, crossing her arms as the sprite rolled his eyes. "Doesn't Gray-sama have anything to say to her?"
"Not really, we're having lunch, aren't we? No need to throw a fit." He ignored her disparaged look, choosing to focus on his food. His tail however, with a mind of its own, gave its attention to the saddened girl. His wolf side was always doting, cozying up to Juvia and happily accepting her tight hug.
"At least there's someone to keep an eye on you three," Erza smiled gently as she ate the slice of cake Jellal prepared for her. "I was worried about your classroom performance."
"Why can't you worry about normal things? Like how to confess to Jellal?" Cana laughed as the table mocked her with an 'oooh', Erza quickly striking her fist against the table.
"Enough of that, let's just eat!"

"I really hate this, you know? I never get to see enough of you when we're at school," Natsu sighed as he flopped down onto his bed. "I think Master does it on purpose."
"You already asked him about this before, he's not the one who decides who goes in which class."
"Still! He should have an answer, it's unfair." He grumbled, tossing himself around.
"Cana taught me something if you'd like me to show you?" Lucy hummed, Natsu pouting as the star turned and moved to sit in his lap. "Since you want to keep whining like a baby."
"I don't think anything could cheer me up," The dragon sighed, settling his hands on Lucy's hips. "I won't get to see you until lunch and then not until we walk home together and it sucks!"
"Just be quiet, okay?" She giggled, taking hold of his face. "We've gotten through it before. It won't be any different this year."
"What're ya showin' me, then?" He sighed, placing his hands carefully on her hips.
It began like their usual kisses did, slow and soft. The older they got, the less their lips scrunched together and the more they sunk into the sweet touch.
Lucy parted her lips slightly, Natsu's bottom lip sliding between her own. He moaned slightly as she sucked on it, her tongue lightly dragging across it.
"Open your mouth," She mumbled, turning her familiar subtle peach as Natsu's hands began to slide gingerly up her back.
They gently moved closer together, a light purr escaping him as she ran her fingers down his neck. The odd sensation of their tongues touching spurred them both on, Natsu growling as Lucy let out a soft moan.
They were a bit clumsy, not sure where to put what. His tongue slid against hers, both following the slow movements of the other.
Lucy pulled away first, taking in a deep breath as she captured Natsu's lips again.
"That was…" The dragon carefully opened his eyes, swallowing at the dangerous sight before him. Lucy was flustered with her lips puckered like two pink pillows. They were red with the evidence of their embrace, Natsu subconsciously licking his lips. "We gotta do that again."
Lucy giggled as Natsu flipped them over, flashing her a wide grin before he kissed her again.
I'm gonna make sure I map out what I have planned for this bc I don't want to go too fast, ik yall are enjoying the hell out of it!
Just a warning! There are gonna be some more adult-y themes moving forward, nothing M rated but for sure T+,, so anyone that was here for the K, please be aware!
I'm gonna write a side story about Natsu and Lucy's first time, and maaaaaybe Gray and Juvia's but not the other two lmao bc I'm not good at their smut scenes just yet,, or maybe I will for practice pfft
I'm working on the next chapter as we speak, same goes for Hazy! I will most definintley sprinkle in a few one shots here and there though
Lowkey my only issue is that since I have so many characters, I overdo it with dialogue to make sure everyone gets addressed but that's a minor thing ive noticed as I wrote this last chapter
