Ash's Dreamscape

Ash found himself in a black void, hours after he fell asleep. He looked around wanting some answers of his current position and why it seemed endless. He then found himself staring at multiple visions, all relating around one thing...

Him.

One vision showed him alongside his Pokémon, even some he had yet to catch. They seemed to be firing different attacks at something from the looks of it.

Another showed himself with Charizard, actually listening to him! This shocked him deeply. And he seemed to be battling some sort of larger Pokémon.

There was one with him being mentored by a teenage trainer who had a Pikachu himself and an Eevee.

There were two Psychic types battling each other, one was Mew and another resembled Mew but was more humanoid from the looks of it. Ash saw his Pokémon and others watching the two clash.

Then was a muscular man, staring him down alongside with his Pokémon, but oddly enough, it was his original team! But there were a few differences.

For starters, Charizard was now black with blue flames in his maw. Ivysaur and Wartortle were Venusaur and Blastoise now, but the former had more foliage around his body while latter had three cannons. And his Pidgeotto was now a Pidgeot but had a bigger plumage and larger feathers from the look of it. Then his Butterfree had returned but was larger than he ever thought was possible, his wings were somewhat teal and emitted smaller butterflies at the man. It rivaled the height of the giant Dragonite he once met at Bill's lighthouse! And Pikachu was there with his cap on his head, performing some kind of dance that sent rainbow colored lightning bolts at the muscular man, who was in shock of their power.

Then Ash saw himself at a warehouse with Team Rocket's emblem on it. He saw Pikachu defending an Eevee from a menacing scientist from the looks of it.

The next one was a scene that followed the three legendary birds of Kanto. Ash was there riding what seemed to be a new Pokémon as his other Pokémon were fighting the legendary birds themselves!

Other scene was a rainbow feather fluttering down into his hand, which he began to glow with a rainbow like aura himself. Then Ash found himself training with a seemingly clone of himself in some fluid motions while his Pokémon trained with the clone's Pokémon.

The shady man appeared again emitting a dark aura before several dark silhouettes began to rush pass Ash, ending with the muscular man from before.

Then the scene shifted from those dark silhouettes to lighter silhouettes. Each silhouette took the form of a boy and a girl from around his age (currently). Ash found himself standing side by side with the same silhouettes and some new ones. He counted about five, including the one trainer from earlier with the Pikachu and Eevee.

And the final vision showed Ash alongside his Pokémon once again but with a greater number not just originated from Kanto but others he never heard of.

'This is all I can show you for now. Fear not, Chosen One. For you are destined for great things. In time you will understand. But for now only me to grant you one of your newfound abilities.' A voice rumbled in the void, 'It has been unlocked it. Use it well.'

The voice departed, and Ash began to leave these visions as he awoke himself.

Valencia Island, Ivy's Lab

Ash woke with cold sweat running down his body. Pikachu had nearly been launched out off his chest and was resisting the urge to shock his trainer, even with his internal injuries.

'Dang it, Ash! I'm trying to sleep here!' Pikachu squeaked in annoyance.

"Sorry about that Pikachu," Ash apologized before his expression changed to shock. "What?! I just understood you!"

Pikachu tilted his head in confusion. 'Ummm... Ash, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Pikachu. Wait. No, I'm not! I can understand you!"

'Ash, calm down for a minute. How could you even possibly understand me?'

"I don't know!" Ash cried out. "Maybe I'm just stressed out..."

'Ash, if you can understand me, maybe you should go back to bed and discuss this all in the morning.'

Ash reluctantly nodded before drifting off again.

Morning came and Ash was up after a few minutes of struggling and finding the energy to leave his bed.

'Ash, time to wake up!' Pikachu squeaked.

Ash turned to his starter, who he could still understand completely. "Ok, so I'm not going crazy. I can understand Pokémon."

Pikachu once again tilted his head, 'How can you even understand me?' Ash just shrugged before getting dressed in his usual clothes. Before he left, he saw a pure red Pokeball. Curious, he picked it up and opened it...

Revealing Mew.

"What?"/'What?' Both trainer and Pokémon gasped in shock. A Mythical Pokémon had been caught?! They didn't even think that was possible!

'Hehehe, your reactions were priceless,' Mew giggled before hovering around Ash.

"Mew, but why were you in this Pokeball? Do you have a trainer already?" Ash questioned.

Mew just laughed some more before continuing, "This Pokeball is called a Cherish Ball. I conjured it up, after you fell asleep the first time. So now, I'm your Pokémon! And to answer your Pokémon understanding ability, it seems Father has unlocked one of your abilities.'

Ash was more confused than ever. Mew was his Pokémon now?! Mew had a father?! One of his abilities? A Cherish Ball? Just what did all this have to do with him?

'I sense your confusion, but once again in time, you will understand everything,' Mew explained, 'now let's get you ready for the Orange League.'

Ash decided to just along with it and went to have breakfast with Professor Ivy. Perhaps she could explain this Orange League.

"Ah yes, the Orange League," Ivy repeated after sipping her morning coffee with Ash at the table, eating with his usually habits.

"Well, it's not to hard to explain. It's basically the same as League Conferences. Only the fact there are four badges required and the no serious League brackets, rather you get the challenge the Champion right away. And the Gym Leaders usually don't have a standard gym battles... well Rudy and Luana do, Cissy and Danny don't have the standard gym battles." Ivy explained.

"Ahhh~ that hit the spot. But it doesn't matter if these gym leaders have different battles, I'll beat them all!" Ash said determinedly. Ready to prove the traitors wrong.

Ivy chuckled, this boy was something else...

SPLASH!

The noise caught the attention of Ketchum and the professor. It was near the corral's beach. The two rushed out and saw a massive light blue whale Pokemon. It seemed to be disembarking a trainer with two Pokémon on their shoulder. Ash could make them out as a Pikachu and an Eevee.

"Alright, we made it!" The trainer said. "Okay, Baleen. Take care and enjoy the coral reefs!"

'Bye!/See ya around!' The Pikachu and Eevee said, though only Ash understand them.

Baleen the Wailord gave a parting spout of water before diving back in the ocean.

"Now where to begin..."

"Hello, Seth!"

The newly identified trainer named Seth turned around to see Professor Ivy and Ash. He greeted them with a wave of his own. "Hey, Professor Ivy!" Seth made his way up to the lab as Ash remember something about this teen in his dreams. He remembers him tutoring him about something but couldn't place his finger on it.

"Wow, it's been sometime before I've seen you here," Ivy said. Seth's Eevee and Pikachu chirped up, wanting some attention. Which the Professor was happy to oblige by scratching along their fur and favorite spots.

"Yeah, I was doing some traveling and decided to revisit the Orange Islands," Seth explained before his eyes drifted to Ash. The boy flinched at his gaze, still not used to people yet. Seth mentally frowned, Red had told him about the betrayal but he didn't want to pry into his personal life. Right now, he was to mentor him to make him a better trainer.

"Why don't we go in?" Ivy asked. "Yes, please," the teenage trainer said. Ash walked behind them slowly, with Pikachu giving a cautious gaze at the trainer as well.

After breakfast and meeting the trainer, Ash went into the corral to see his gathered Pokémon. "Alright everyone, tomorrow we begin to challenge the Orange League and prove ourselves!" Ash shouted to his Pokémon. His Pokémon cried in determination, except Psyduck, Togepi, and Charizard. Even Mimey wanted to battle from the looks of it.

"The Orange League huh?"

Ash jumped at the voice and his battle ready Pokémon were in a battle stance, only to see Seth with his two Pokémon at his side. Ash calmed himself and his Pokémon relaxed a bit at seeing the teenager.

"Nice collection of Pokémon you got here," Seth observed. "Uhhhh... thanks," Ash said, accepting the compliment.

"Well perhaps I should you mine, at least the ones I have on hand," Seth spoke before pulling out eight Pokeballs. "Come on out everyone!"

The Pokeballs opened releasing the eight. And Ash was shocked at the Pokémon before him.

The first one resembled brown seahorse like Pokémon. The second was a Muk, but it had a more vibrant color of sludge. The third was an eagle Pokémon with maroon feathers and a black underside. The fourth was a bison like Pokémon but with a large afro that covered its head. The fifth was a blue lobster with a massive claw that could rival Kingler's large pincher. The sixth was a blue humanoid jackal Pokémon with spikes on its paws and a gauntlet on its right arm, housing some sort of stone. The seventh was a Charizard like his, only seeming more obedient and had a chest plate with a stone as well. And the eighth is a humanoid Pokémon with a white dress and green hair with a necklace that had a stone of its own.

Ash was clearly baffled at the many Pokémon had sent out. He reached for his Pokédex to scan the new Pokémon since he was quite familiar with Pikachu, Eevee, and Charizard.

[No data available]

This puzzled Ketchum with these new Pokémon, before a new voice spoke up.

[Dragalge, the Mock Kelp Pokémon. Dragalge uses a poisonous liquid capable of corroding metal to send tankers that enter its territory to the bottom of the sea]

Ash turned to voice which happens to be Seth's Pokédex. He had it pointed at the brown seahorse Pokémon. Seth then made his way around the unidentified Pokémon.

[Alolan Muk, the Sludge Pokémon and the evolved form of Grimer. There are a hundred different kinds of poison inside its body. Chemical reactions between different poisons are the source of its vitality.]

[Braviary the Valiant Pokémon. Known for its bravery and pride, this majestic Pokémon is often seen as a motif for various kinds of emblems.]

[Bouffalant, the Bash Buffalo Pokémon. These Pokémon can crush a car with more than a headbutt. Bouffalant with more hair on their heads hold higher positions within the herd.]

[Clawitzer, the Howitzer Pokémon. Clawitzer's right arm is a cannon that launches projectiles made of seawater. Shots from Clawitzer's cannon arm can sink a tanker.]

[Lucario, the Aura Pokémon. It can tell what people are thinking. Only Trainers who have justice in their hearts can earn this Pokémon's trust.]

[Gardevoir, the Embrace Pokémon. It has the power to predict the future. Its power peaks when it is protecting its Trainer.]

Ash was amazed at the new Pokémon before him. He had never seen any Pokémon like this apart from the menacing Rhyperior that nearly killed him.

The Lucario then fixed his gaze upon Ash, which unnerved the boy.

'Dad. This boy's aura...it's blinding,' the Lucario spoke up.

"Is it now?" Seth asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Wait, did the Pokemon just call you dad?" Ash asked, since he could understand Pokémon.

"Yeah," Seth said sheepishly, "I raised my Lucario from a Riolu, who was an egg. He hasn't really grown out of calling me dad or papa."

Ash nodded along with that statement, since Togepi saw that traitor as his mother. But it bewildered him that this trainer could also understand Pokémon.

Ignis -Seth's Charizard- looked around before spotted Ash's who was busy snoring away. 'That Charizard's a disgrace to our kind.'

Ash's immediately woke up and growled at that statement. 'What did you say, punk?'

Ignis smirked, riling up the other Charizard. 'You heard me, you are probably the laziest Charizard I have ever met.'

'Watch it, flame boy! I'll have you know I'm the strongest there is.'

'Wanna bet?'

Ash's immediately charged at Ignis, who ducked and performed Breaking Swipe that knock the arrogant dragon back before following up with a Dragon Claw that sent him flying into a boulder, which shattered on impact.

Ash was in awe and all his Pokémon were the same and snickering at the Flame Pokemon got what he deserved, Pikachu more than the others.

Ash's Charizard pulled himself together before growl and going off to sulk at his defeat.

"Hmmmm, your Charizard seems to be a bit on the arrogant side," Seth commented.

"Yeah, I'm being trying to reason with him, but he just ignores me," Ash explained.

"Any reason why?"

"Probably due to his last trainer..."

"What was his previous trainer like?"

"The worst, he left Charizard when he was a Charmander in the rain for dead," Ash spat with venom, clearly remembering Damian.

"...Perhaps Charizard is testing you."

"Testing me?"

"Yeah, probably to see how far you will go for him."

Ash pondered that over. It might be possible.

"Anyways, why don't we chat inside. Let our Pokémon do some chatting of our own," Seth suggested. Ash nodded and went to join the teenager with his Pikachu and Eevee, while Ash's Pikachu went with him.

Ivysaur was being the peacekeeper of the corral, making sure everyone was getting along. Ash's Charizard was glaring at Ignis, who was ignoring him. Yellowstone the Bouffalant was running alongside Ash's Tauros, talking with the leader as he did. Muk and Chemistry the Alolan Muk were slouching about. Paris Gardevior was babying Togepi while getting along with Mimey, possibly due to their types. Hippocampus the Dragalge and Heavy the Clawitzer were showing off their moves to Wartortle and Kingler. Soar the Braviary and Pidgeotto were flying around like a race, the former winning due to experience. Psyduck was wondering around mindlessly and Lucario went to mediate for a while.

Morning came to night and by then Ash had learned a lot today from Seth. Other regions, other types: Fairy, Steel, and Dark; and much more. Perhaps, this teenager could help with be the best...

Like the vision he had.

Pallet Town

The mood at the town was sad.

Delia had stopped crying and worked up courage to work with herself, in her garden.

Professor Oak had occasionally visited her, trying to cheer her up, but he was depressed too. Oak considering ask the other regional professors were Ash was, but went against it since he didn't know anything about the other regions.

Brock also occasionally visited as well, giving his condolences for his actions. The professor and Delia already forgave him though, but even he was worried about Ash since he saw him as a brother and vice versa.

All their hope in Arceus to find him and keep him safe.

Shamouti Island

Mew Teleported herself where she sensed the disturbance.

'Are you there?' Mew spoke.

A low growl could be heard beneath the waves.

'Good. Are you sure it will happen soon?'

'Yes, I can sense the times approaching. Is he ready yet?' The voice from the ocean said.

'Not yet, but his mentor has arrived. Hopefully he can teach him and unlock a few more of his abilities.'

'We cannot rush him. While time is of the essence, we also must be patient ourselves.'

'I guess so. Your Future Sight and the prophecy better be right.'

'It has never been wrong before.'

Mew sighed, before Teleporting again to her new trainer's location. The Chosen One needs to be ready.

A/N: My OC has tons of Pokémon. Decided to nickname Seth's Pokémon since he has many copies of the same Pokémon Ash has. Most will be in rotation from time to time, but Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, Lucario and maybe Gardevoir will stay on the team for the majority of Orange Pokémon Seth brings over will help Ash's in some way with their training.
