DragonEmperor999: Yes, Ash will catch those Pokémon. Sooner than you think ;)
Mandarin Island
Two days had passed since Ash's victory over Cissy. The boy was grinning nonstop from it, feeling better about himself. Seth and Tracey for aboard Lapis still, giving the trainer privacy. He was warming up to them, though. Seth's expertise was a life saver during the challenge so he was glad to have them around. They arrived in the port of Mandarin Island today. Ash and Seth returned their Transport Pokémon after getting off and stretching. Seth recommended stopping here and to stock up on supplies after Cissy's battle.
"Hey, what's the deal?"
"Come on, stop it!"
"Cut it out, you're freaking me out!"
The trainers and partner Pokemon heard the commotion and headed over to see what the fuss was. Three trainers were trying to calm down their Pokémon which were a Magnemite, Grimer, and Voltorb. Magnemite and Voltorb each released Thunder Shocks to repel the trainers, preventing them from coming any closer. Their eyes glowed with red, and their expressions full of hate.
"We need to help them!" Seth rushed in, Ash nodded and followed, Tracey trailed behind. Suddenly Seth stopped, feeling a disturbance in his aura. Thor and Eevee halted in their tracks before growling.
"Seth, what's wrong?" Ash questioned before Pikachu started to sway in confusion. "Pikachu?"
Ash's faithful starter leaped off and began to snarl at his trainer. "Pikachu, what's wrong?" Ash asked, wondering what got his partner startled. Seth, meanwhile, placed his hand on his head, a buzzing sound present in his hearing. Thinking quickly, Seth placed his hands on his two partners. They stopped their growling, now a more relaxed feeling in their emotion.
The same couldn't be said about Pikachu though. He was firing Thunderbolt at Ash, who was dodging to avoid being crisp. "Pikachu! What's the matter with you?!" Ash cried out.
'Y-you d-d-don't c-cont-rol me,' Pikachu made out before fleeing with the other three Pokémon. Ash, having heard the Mouse Pokémon squeak those words, fell to the ground, tears welling up inside his eyes.
His best friend... had just left him? Why?
Sirens were heard and Officer Jenny appeared. "Are you kids alright?"
"Yeah, our Pokémon just turned on us for some reason," the Magnemite trainer said.
"Ugh, not another one this week?" Jenny let out.
"Huh? Another one?" Seth and Tracey said.
Police Station, Mandarin Island
"We have been getting reports of Pokémon leaving or disowning their trainers for a week now," Officer Jenny informed the trainers.
'The sensation was so hypnotic,' Thor said, clutching his head. 'Definitely a Psychic type move,' Eevee added.
Ash was in deep thought. What if it wasn't a Psychic attack? What Pikachu had actually betrayed him? He didn't want to think off the possibility. Seth's Pokémon sensed his doubt and comforted him the best they could, while Seth looked at the scene and had a solemn look on his face. Red had told him about the bond between Ash and Pikachu, so this 'spell' had definitely made him doubtful again.
"Do you have any leads?" Seth asked the officer. "None so far. You're lucky your two Pokémon were unaffected. The only others that are unaffected are..." Officer Jenny started before a Gastly spooked her. The Ghost/Poison laughed at her expression. "...Ghost and Dark types," she finished.
"Hmmm... Ghost and Dark types..." Seth pondered. "Sounds like a definite Psychic type at work... I got it. Eevee, with me. Be right back!" He said before leaving with his Evolution Pokémon.
Ash was a bit better with Thor making him feel better. But he was still at lost. Was that shady man responsible for this? How would he even know where he was? Ketchum shook those thoughts out of his head, not wanting a recap of why he had to run.
He wanted his best friend back. And he was going to make sure of it. Tracey, sensing his angered expression, backed off for now.
Mandarin Island, coast
Three idiots made their way to land, exhausted from swimming. "Finally, dry land!" They cried with anime tears. Jessie, James, and Meowth all kissed the ground as if they worshipped it. After a few minutes, the TRio snapped out of their worshipping state and regained their steps.
"Alright, now let's get a move!" Jessie commanded.
"Yes! How do we make the boss' good side if we are slacking!" James added.
"Yeah! Let's go get so-" Meowth started before his eyes turned red.
"Ummm, Meowth?" James asked the Scratch Cat Pokémon before get scratched in his face. "Yowch!"
"Meowth, what was that for?!" Jessie shouted before getting the same treatment. The feline turned and took off, leaving his teammates behind in both pain and confusion.
Abandoned radio station, Mandarin Island
Meowth made his way to his location in a hurried pace. Entering the radio station, he saluted towards his controllers. "Ready to serve."
"Huh, would you look at that?" A raspy voice said.
"A talking Meowth. And you know what that means..." A feminine voice said, before thumps could be heard in the vents.
Jessie and James fell to the floor, with unbroken bones. They were dazed a bit before coming to and noticing the other people.
"Jessie!" The feminine voice said.
"James!" The raspy voice addressed.
"Cassidy!" Jessie shot back!
"Bill!" James pointed, only for the owner of the raspy voice to face fall. "It's Butch!" The now identified Team Rocket agent corrected.
"What are you two doing here?" Cassidy asked. "Our teammate walked in here and we want him back!" Jessie stated.
"Psssh, please. You two can't even get the motto right," Butch chastised, before they both took their positions to the "correct" motto.
"You do it wrong too!" James accused before he and Jessie took their own positions for the motto they recite so much.
(Clash of Team Rocket mottos)
Each were exhausted at their speaking but quickly recovered. "Well now that we have said the right motto, why aren't you two in jail?"
"Pays to be a favorite in Team Rocket," Cassidy mocked the two, "we got a special appearance from the boss himself."
"As if! The boss would never visit you two," Jessie shot back. "We may be on the same team, but we are on different leagues," the blonde 'informed.'
"Grrrrr... we'll see about that! Arbok, Lickitung take them down!" Jessie cried as she summoned her two Pokémon.
"Weezing, Victreebel! Aid her as well!" James summoned his own two. All four landed before the Flycatcher gave his usually affection to James. "Get off of me and battle!"
"Please, you just added to your failure," Cassidy remarked and snapped her fingers. The lights in the radio station turned on and revealed a machine with a tank that housed a Drowzee. Many stolen Pokémon appeared and stood before James and Jessie. They spotted even Ash's Pikachu and Meowth among the controlled Pokémon, much to their surprise. "Meowth, snap out of it! We're your real friends!" Jessie cried.
Both Cassidy and Butch laughed at their efforts. "He can't here you. He's where he belongs now," Butch smirked.
"Why you..." James snarled, "Weezing, Sludge Bomb! Victreebel, Razor Leaf!"
"Arbok, Poison Sting! Lickitung, Lick!" Jessie said afterwards.
The four Pokémon stood there, not comprehending their moves. "Arbok? Lickitung?/Weezing? Victreebel?" They questioned. Their Pokémon soon turned around with pure red eyes and angry with their trainers, charging up their moves.
Said trainers gulped. This wasn't going to end well.
"Alright, I'm back!" Seth said as he entered the police station. "Sorry, it took so long."
"Well, what did you have to get?" Tracey asked. Seth smirked, "A few friends to help us." He motioned to his new partner: a black fox with yellow rings flashing. He then pulled out a few more Pokeballs and summoned his called in team members. He revealed to have a bipedal red tiger, a maroon colored crocodile, a black canine with a collar and curved horns, a purple feline, a black haired Pokémon with a goblin face, a black and gray canine, and a white mammal Pokémon with a singe curved horn and a collar.
Ash fumbled his Pokédex to scan the new Pokémon Seth had.
[Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokémon and an evolved form of Eevee. On the night of a full moon, or when it gets excited, the ring patterns on its body glow yellow.]
[Incineroar, the Heel Pokémon. Incineroar's rough and aggressive behavior is its most notable trait, but the way it helps out small Pokémon shows that it has a kind side as well.]
[Krookodile, the Intimidation Pokémon. While terribly aggressive, Krookodile also has the patience to stay hidden under sand for days, lying in wait for prey.]
[Houndoom, the Dark Pokémon. They spew flames mixed with poison to finish off their opponents. They divvy up their prey evenly among the members of their pack.]
[Liepard, the Cruel Pokémon. Stealthily, it sneaks up on its target, striking from behind before its victim has a chance to react.]
[Grimmsnarl, the Bulk Up Pokémon. Its hairs work like muscle fibers. When its hairs unfurl, they latch on to opponents, ensnaring them as tentacles would.]
[Mightyena, the Bite Pokémon. Mightyena gives obvious signals when it is preparing to attack. It starts to growl deeply and then flattens its body. This Pokémon will bite savagely with its sharply pointed fangs.]
[Absol, the Disaster Pokémon. Swift as the wind, Absol races through fields and mountains. Its curved, bow-like horn is acutely sensitive to the warning signs of natural disasters.]
Ash was amazed at this. He figured these must have been Dark types to help with the hypnotize Pokémon. "Impressive set," Jenny commented, "but how are we supposed to find the missing Pokémon?"
"Simple. We just need another Pokémon to go rouge and we'll have Gastly, Lucifer, and Banzai track the Pokémon," Seth said matter-of-fact.
Everyone nodded at this plan. "Alright. I think I know just the Pokémon to use. Go, Growlithe!" Jenny said, calling out the Puppy Pokémon. 'Ready to serve!' The Puppy Pokemon barked and await to be commanded. "Lucifer, Banzai, get his scent." Both canines nodded and got a good whiff of the Pokémon. Seth returned his other Pokémon, keeping Lucifer the Houndoom, Banzai the Mightyena, and Umbreon out for the time being.
Everyone waited for Growlithe to change. The Puppy Pokémon was curious to all the looks he was getting...
Until he snapped. 'Back away humans! You don't control me!' He barked, though only Ash and Seth heard it. The Fire type took off and everyone waited a few minutes before following in pursuit.
Ash, Tracey, Seth, Thor, Umbreon, and Jenny followed the two canines that led the way. They soon came across the radio station. "Of course! Whatever Pokémon it is, it using those radio antenna to boost the signal!" Tracey deduced. "So, all we got to do is take out whatever is causing those waves." Jenny explained.
'Seth,' Lucifer called, 'I smell... *sniff* *sniff* something else.' Seth's attention was peaked. He mentally cursed as he was torn between helping Ash with Pikachu or finding out what the Dark Pokémon picked up. Ash didn't hear it. He was dead set on getting his best friend back.
And know that he knew where he was...
He took off, leaving his friends and Officer Jenny behind.
"ASH!" Tracey called out, but no avail. The boy was heading straight into the radio station. "Tracey, stay with him," Ash insisted before whispering, "also make sure he sends out Mr. Mime. He has Safeguard so that should protect him from any hypnosis cast."
"And what are you doing?" Tracey questioned, slightly suspicious.
"It's most likely a Pokémon doing this, but it would take a skilled Pokémon to emit waves this wide. No doubt it's a machine, but Lucifer smells something else," Seth explained and ignoring the suspicion.
Tracey was hesitant on the idea, but given he had seen Seth's Pokémon in action, who was he to doubt his abilities. "Alright, be careful then," he said before taking off after Ketchum, Jenny following.
Seth turned to where his Dark/Fire type gestured and followed the path with Umbreon and Banzai in tow.
Unknown to the group, on the roof of the radio station, a woman perched herself and saw Seth branch off from his group. She snidely smiled, looks like she was going to have some fun today.
"Banette, ready Steelix. Looks like we are going to have some fun," she said as a black doll like Pokémon appeared beside her and vanished in a purple vortex. The woman vanished with another purple vortex, smiling at the development.
Time to have some fun in this place.
Ash barged into the radio station with pure anger. No one stole his partner without getting hurt. "PIKACHU!" Ash called out, hoping his starter would respond.
"Ash! Keep it down! We don't want to ruin our element of surprise," Tracey said as Officer Jenny followed in behind. "Agreed. Kid, I know you want to find your Pokémon but you can't just go around bust down doors and into buildings willy nilly."
Ash frowned at his supposed scolding. They didn't know about his personal problems. What he endured. Pikachu was his best friend, heck he was family. And he wouldn't let anyone else drive him away from his family.
"Well, well, well..." Cassidy said stepping out of the shadows, "this is quite the surprise."
"Yes, it quite is..." Butch said, also appearing from his spot. Ash's eyes widened at the two. "Cassidy and Benjamin!"
Butch face faulted, "It's Butch!" Tracey noted their uniforms, "More stalkers, Ash?"
"Far from it. They're not like Jessie and James. These two are probably more competent and I hardly deal with them. I thought you two were in jail!" Ash informed and accused.
"Please," Cassidy started, "we are a high rank in Team Rocket. We have certain 'opportunities' in the organization."
"It doesn't matter. You two are going back to jail one way or another!" Officer Jenny shouted, readying her Gastly.
"Ash, quick! Have Mr. Mime use Safeguard! It should help with the hypnosis!" Tracey recalled.
"Okay!" Ash said, pulling out Mimey's ball. "Use Safeguard!" He said as he summoned the Barrier Pokémon. Mimey appeared and instantly generated a green shield for protecting his team from being hypnotized. Tracey called out his own Pokémon, Scyther excited from the looks of it.
"Brayden, bring the Pokémon!" Cassidy said. "It's Butch! Not even my own teammate gets it right," Butch sulked before revealing the machine and the many Pokémon they had controlled. The Drowzee within the machine noticed Ash before looking evilly. 'Hello Chosen One,' the tapir Pokémon acknowledged Ash. 'Imagine my surprise that you are here.'
Ash recalled hearing that title before from Mew and that voice during his flood of visions, but shook that thought out of his head. He and Mimey had to ready themselves to defend the many Pokémon that have been taken. Butch and Cassidy sent out their own Pokémon, Primeape and Raticate, into the fray.
Drowzee manipulated the Pokémon to have Pikachu front and center, with pure hate in his eyes. Ash shuttered but shook off the thought of betrayal.
He was getting his friend back. If it had to be by battle...
"Mimey, Psybeam!"
So be it.
Seth ventured into another place of the radio station. Lucifer and Banzai used their expert night vision to see better while Umbreon had his lights shine a way. Thor didn't use Flash since Seth wanted to remind quiet and not attract any attention. The hoodie trainer soon came across a cell...
Which housed two certain trainers.
"Unbelievable. I thought Ash was exaggerating when he said you two follow him," Seth admitted.
"Hey, it's the new twerp!" James noticed. "Let's get him!" Jessie said as they made an attempt to grab their Pokeballs only to have nothing. "Where are our Pokémon!" They cried before remembering that their rivals had stolen their Pokémon. "Those two..." Jessie growled. "They will pay for this!" James snarled.
"... So the Pokémon thieves got their Pokémon stolen?" Seth wrapped his head around this, "Well, that's karma."
"What do you mean by that?!" Jessie demanded.
"I'm saying, now you know how other trainers feel when you steal their Pokémon. Talk about irony," Seth explained.
Both human members of the TRio were about to retort before understanding what the light skinned trainer said. They had stolen Pokémon for their boss so many times but never understood the feeling of losing their own Pokémon.
"Now, I would so like to keep you two in here to prevent you from stalking Ash as he travels," Seth admitted, "but I'm better than that. Thor, Iron Tail the lock." The Mouse Pokémon's tail turned to iron and was swung in an arc, shattering the lock. Seth opened the door and the two occupants free, before giving a few parting words, "Reflect on this. Trust me, you will be grateful."
After the two left, Seth continued his way. He came across a large space with the radio station. After looking around, his aura spiked up, sensing something coming.
Something BIG.
Seth and his Pokémon moved out of the way as a wall was bursted opened, revealing a Steelix. Seth frowned. A Steelix here? And he noticed a small piercing on its tooth with a stone.
Seth's eyes widened. She was here?!
"Hello again..." a voice hovered around. "...Seth..."
Seth growled, his Pokémon mimicking his action. "Vanessa. It's been far too long."
A Phantom Force materialized the woman from before. She has black hair and a black jumpsuit with lavender gloves and boots. Beside her was a Mismagius and a Banette, the latter having a stone in her mouth. Steelix leaned over her trainer, smiling with pure malice and hate.
Seth's Pokémon returned the smile with snarls, even Thor and Umbreon. Vanessa noticed the Moonlight Pokémon before snickering. "Well, this is a surprise. Looks like our experiment has come back."
"He's not going anywhere. Especially with your team!" Seth stated.
"Awww, you wound me. But then again, should I really care?" Vanessa mocked before circling Seth. "You know, since Umbreon was such a big success, we decided to continue production."
Seth's eyes narrowed at that. "But since our subject got away... we had to make other attempts," Vanessa informed. "We have never been able to replicate the same process and that little fox got away only to end up with you of all people," she snarled before giving a grin. "But we did."
Seth's eyes turned into a glare, but in the inside he was shocked. They managed to replicate the evolution project?
"Unfortunately, it too fled. And our boss got tired off it and decided he had bigger Magikarp to fry," Vanessa explained. "But imagine my luck, that you and the brat are here. In the Orange Islands. He's just going to love this."
"Tell him anything and I promise that you will experience three ultimate moves from nine of my Pokémon. Full. Force." Seth threatened.
Vanessa snickered again. "Oh, I'm telling him. Plus who knows, maybe we should attack your little friend group too," she said before smirking deviously, "how would your boyfriend feel being threatened."
Seth snarled. No one threatens his friends or boyfriend without a few broken bones. "Enough talk," Seth said, done with listening to her monologue and summoned his other Pokémon. Thor leaped in front, sparking, while Umbreon's rings began to flash for intimidation.
Vanessa merely retrieved a few more Pokéballs, one with a grey top with four light blue circles and two other Dusk Balls. "Agreed. Let's give you..." she said and sent out the occupants, "...mayhem." And then she pressed her left earring and emitted a flash that created four beams of light that were sent to her Steelix and Banette.
Seth pulled his sleeve up, revealing a bracelet with a Keystone and pressed it. Four streams of lights connected to Houndoom and Absol's collars. They readied themselves for the battle to come.
Chaos was amuck with Ash and the others. Officer Jenny had Gastly attempt to phase through and attack Drowzee but Butch's Primeape and Cassidy's Raticate kept using Dark type moves. Tracey's Pokémon were holding their own, but barely except Scyther who was doing his best to mow down as many opponents as he could.
"Mimey, use Reflect! Separate Pikachu from the others!" Ash commanded. He figure if he could isolate Pikachu from the rest, he could free him. That's all that matter to him right now.
'Ash, I'm not sure that's the best idea,' the Barrier Pokémon insisted. "It doesn't matter! I'm getting Pikachu back!" Ash promised. Tracey wondered why he shouted at his Pokemon, but ignored it and had Smeargle use Sketch to copy a Thunderbolt that struck a few Water type Pokémon. Mimey understood his want and reluctantly complied to isolate his starter. Shimmering, Mr. Mime created three rainbow squares that repelled the other Pokémon, leaving Pikachu available.
That's all Ash needed. Ketchum rushed towards his friend, intend on freeing him. He couldn't deal with another betrayal.
Drowzee snickered, seeing what he was trying to do. The Hypnosis Pokémon halted the commands of the other Pokémon and had Pikachu strike with the Chosen One.
Ash endured the cringing of electricity. He had received a few when he was traveling and this was almost hurting him. Mimey wanted to help, but he knew Ash had to do this for himself. The trainer pushed through his pain, he wasn't giving up on his friend.
His best friend.
His partner.
His family.
Pikachu had been through with him some much. Battling, traveling, and not once as he let him down or feel bad about himself. He stood by him when he was betrayed. No stupid psychic control was going to stop him from reaching his friend. And if he had to fight him to get him back...
He was going to.
Almost there, Drowzee crudely commanded for Pikachu to shock Ash with everything. 'Do as I say mouse! Make him suffer! Make him die!' Ash heard this, but tuned it out. He held his hand out to reach for him and then something miraculous happened...
His hand created a blue flame, unintentionally and he swore the Hypnosis Pokémon cursed at something. With his blue flame, he touched Pikachu and was bombarded with memories.
Ash and Pikachu found themselves in a black void, not new to Ash. He saw memories of Pikachu when a small light yellow mouse with a Kangaskhan. The Kangaskhan cared for him and her baby.
Ash saw him evolve, leave his maternal figure behind.
Getting captured by Oak.
And meeting Ash for the first time.
Ash sensed the distrust in the memory and instant trust when he saved his starter.
Their first gym battle and the loss before winning against Brock the second time. Every battle in between. Trials. Hardships.
Ash then realized his hand was blue and noticed Pikachu glowing with a blue glow himself.
"Pikachu, if you can hear me, fight the control! Free yourself! I know you can!"
Pikachu's mind began to strain, and slowly he freed himself becoming his own Pokémon again. A few minutes later, and Pikachu recovered in the dreamscape and real life.
Ash removed his hand from his starter and said Pokémon was free. 'Ash!' The Mouse Pokémon leaped and nuzzled his trainer. Ash hugged him to the point he never wanted to let go.
'H-how?!' Drowzee demanded. The Chosen One had freed his Pokémon! No one was able to resist his mind control. He considered Dark types lucky since he couldn't learn Miracle Eye and Ghost types hard to manipulate due to being corporeal.
And now he unlock a new ability!
'It matters not. Attack!' The Hypnosis Pokémon commanded with his 'army.'
Ash and Pikachu heard the stampede coming their way. The partners looked at each other and nodded just as Mimey came over, readied himself.
Time to show up this Psychic Type.
"Thunderbolt! Psybeam!" 'Taste this/Here we go!'
Pikachu fired lightning as Mr. Mime unleashed a zig zag multicolored beam that struck all the advancing Pokémon. Pikachu then unleashed a Thunderbolt straight at the machine, causing it to explode. Drowzee decided to cut his losses and Teleported out of their to avoid being crushed. The mind controlled Pokémon began to come to and wonder where they were. Team Rocket's Pokémon slipped away to avoid any confrontation. Ash ignored the confused PokeSpeech and directed his attention to the two Team Rocket members.
"You brat!" Cassidy said. "Do you know how long it to have this machine designed and manufactured?!"
"Yeah! And just for that, we're going make you pay!" Butch added angrily.
"Yeah right! Listen here, Cassidy and Bill ("It's Butch!")," Ash shouted before pointing his finger at the two, "you are going to jail for good this time!"
"As if!" Cassidy shot back before pulling out a Dive Ball and summoned her new teammate: a Tentacruel.
"Yeah! We ain't going back!" Butch informed and summoned his own new teammate: a Cloyster.
Ash pulled out two Pokeballs and sent out Ivysaur and Pidgeotto. 'Seriously, these losers again,' the Bird Pokémon said, eyeing the two while unimpressed.
"Raticate, use Super Fang!" The female Rocket commanded. Raticate's incisors began to grow and glow white before he took off at Pikachu.
"Pikachu, go for Brick Break!" Ash said. Pikachu smiled, his front paw turning white. He leapt up and landed the blow directly on the brown Mouse Pokémon's head, taking him out of the battle as he was tired from having to keep Gastly at bay.
"Primeape, Thrash!" Butch called. "Scyther, get in there and use Fury Cutter!" Tracey interfered, deciding to help Ash out. Sketchit's Mantis Pokémon was more than happy to oblige and flew in. The Bug/Flying type began to match the Pig Monkey's pummeling with his red glowing scythes.
"Thanks for the assist, Tracey," Ash acknowledged, "Now, Pidgeotto, Wing Attack!" The Bird Pokémon flew in with white glowing wings and struck the Fighting type down. Butch's Pokémon cringed in pain from the attack and a Fury Cutter from Scyther took him out of the equation.
Pidgeotto chirped with pride before glowing blue. Her size and head feathers began to grow and when the light died down, she was no longer a Pidgeotto...
Now a Pidgeot.
"Woah! Way to go Pidgeot!" Ash congratulated. He would check her moves later after the battle.
"Tentacruel, Wrap the Ivysaur!" Cassidy said. The Jellyfish Pokémon sent her tentacles out and Wrapped around the Seed Pokémon.
"Give them a Bullet Seed!" Ash suggested. Ivysaur shifted his body before have the petal right at his captor's face. He unload green seeds at a fast pace, causing Tentacruel to release her prey. "Now go for Vine Whip!" The Kanto Grass starter sent two vines and knocked the Tentacruel to the ground, down but not out.
"Cloyster, fire Ice Beam!" Butch commanded. The Bivalve Pokémon fired the Ice attack at Mimey, who put up a Light Screen to block it. "Focus Punch!" Ash cried. Mimey concentrated and burst forward with a yellow glowing fist. The Barrier Pokémon punched the lavendar shell of the Water/Ice type knocking him into Tentacruel.
Cassidy and Butch recoiled in horror at the defeat of their Pokémon and returned them. "It's over," Ash shouted.
"Thanks kids, I'll take it from here," Officer Jenny informed before walking towards the Rocket members.
"W-what do we now, Cassidy?" Butch stuttered. "I don't know, Blake ("Butch!")!" Both stepped back in fear before running out the nearest exit door, Jenny in hot pursuit.
"Whew," Ash let out. Pikachu nuzzled him again and Ash smiled. He got a member of his family back. Pidgeot, Ivysaur, and Mimey were relieved as well and Tracey let out a breath, returning his Pokémon.
"Congrats, Ash!" The Pokémon Watcher congratulate. Ash turned a gave a small smile at that.
"Iron Head!"
"Fight back with Dual Chop and Rock Smash!"
Vanessa's Steelix turned iron and charged at his opponents. Luchador the Incineroar's claws turned purple and Snap the Krookodile's claws balled up into a fist that glowed brown. Both dual Dark types leapt and struck the Iron Snake Pokémon with full force, creating a shockwave from the impact.
Seth was sweating like a mad Arcanine. He hardly fought any challenging trainers these days, other than a few Ace trainers, his friends, Red, Green, and Blue. But Vanessa... she was something else. He was beginning to have his other Dark types he could use if he ever encountered her again, definitely his Spiritomb or Zoroark.
Vanessa's Steelix looked different, now having various crystals in the segments of his body and his lower jaw now armored as bits of steel orbited around his head. Luchador and Snap landed on their feet before waiting their next command.
Mismagius fired off a Thunderbolt at Selina the Liepard which was intercepted by Thor, absorbing it due to his Lightning Rod ability. The Mouse Pokémon chucked an Electro Ball and the Cruel Pokémon fired a Dark Pulse at the Magical Pokémon who shimmered with Dazzling Gleam, halting the two attacks.
Lucifer had changed as well, gaining bone ridges along his front and back, along with sharp horns and his tail now resembling a two pronged pitchfork. He was breathing a Flamethrower at a charging Bastiodon with the help of Banzai using Snarl. Thanks to the Soundproof ability, Bastiodon ignored the Dark type move, but the Bite Pokemon leapt and landed on his back, before igniting his fangs with fire and chomping down, doing damage.
Osborn the Grimmsnarl parried a Shadow Claw from Vanessa's Cofagrigus with a Foul Play, the Bulk Up Pokémon flinging the Coffin Pokémon overhead and going in with an Assurance.
Umbreon avoided a rapid fire assortment of Charge Beams, Dark Pulses, and Gunk Shots from a zipped and unzipped filled Banette. The Moonlight Pokémon finally got off a Toxic, badly poisoning the Marionette Pokémon.
Thirteen the Absol had grown wings, a long piece of hair down his face, and his horn was much bigger. The Disaster Pokémon avoided a Horn Leech from Trevenant. After dodging, Absol sent a Dark Pulse at the Ghost/Grass type, who took it and nearly faltered.
Vanessa watched as her Pokémon battle before she heard a warp noise behind her. The agent turned and saw a Hypno standing behind her. "Well?" she asked the evolved form of Drowzee.
'Compromised. My kin was able to control the Chosen One's Pokémon but he freed it. Unlocked a new ability,' the Psychic type informed.
Vanessa cursed a bit. "And the two... 'high ranked' members?" She gagged out. 'Fleeing as we speak.'
The agent groaned. As much as she would love to leave those two idiots behind, she knew Giovanni wouldn't be pleased. "...Fine. Mismagius, Phantom Force the two members. We're leaving," Vanessa commanded before returning her Pokémon. The Magical Pokémon vanish in a purple aura, leaving Seth and his team out.
"I got to say..." Vanessa started, "that was a bit of fun! Let's do it again sometime..." she finished before her Hypno warped them out.
Seth finally relaxed his guard and his Pokémon did too, dropping to the floor exhausted. Umbreon glowed blue...
and turned back into Eevee, who performed Refresh on himself before attending to the others.
'Mew, that was tough! I haven't been that pushed in a while,' Thor let out.
'Indeed, the famous Iron Witch is quite the title she has made for herself,' Thriteen explained.
Seth was busy in thought. If she were to tell him about where he and Ash were...
This could spell trouble in the future. He needed to phone a friend.
Cassidy and Butch managed to get outside, Jenny still chasing them.
Mismagius appeared, before grabbing the two with her extensions and warping out with Phantom Force, much to the Officer's confusion.
Mandarin Island, Pokemon Center
Ash and Tracey were at the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy healing their Pokémon from the battle they just had.
"Man, that was quite the scare! Huh, Ash?" Tracey asked the boy. Ash flinched with the idea of him being around while Seth was Arceus knows where at the moment. Luckily, he was relieved when he saw his mentor return...
But looking badly and exhausted with Thor and Umbreon at his side, sharing the same condition.
"H-h-hey guys," Seth breathed out, his body aching and slightly straining. "My goodness! Are you okay?" Nurse Joy asked, coming to the teenager's aid. "Y-yeah. Sorry for my appearance. I just need some rest," Seth reassured. "Also can you heal my Pokémon?"
"You can count on me," Nurse Joy said and took the Pokeballs from the hoodie trainer as Chansey carried Thor and Umbreon.
Ash decided not to ask. Maybe there were other Team Rocket members and Seth had dealt with them?
Tracey was more suspicious about this whole ordeal. Ash seemed like he talked to his Mr. Mime and Seth had gone off to do who knows what.
But right now, the trio would be staying at Mandarin Island for the night.
Mandarin Island, Coast
Jessie and James managed to escape the radio station and heard explosions on the inside. No doubt, thanks to the twerp.
But they were still reeling from what Seth said to them. 'I'm saying, now you know how other trainers feel when you steal their Pokémon.'This is a new experience for them. Was this how each trainer, even the twerp, felt as they stole Pokémon? The pain, the hurt, the loss, all of it.
A rustling was heard and soon five familiar faces entered the scene.
"Jessie! James!" Meowth cried and tackled his teammates. Arbok coiled around Jessie and Lickitung gave a not to sloppy lick to her trainer. Weezing nuzzled and Victreebel did his usual display of affection.
The two human members of the trio paused a moment before replying with hugs at their Pokémon but still pondered what Seth had said.
No. No, the new twerp tried to manipulate them. They were Team Rocket members and they had one goal in mind.
But... maybe?
Mandarin Island, random building
Vanessa warped to the top of the building with her Banette using Phantom Force. The agent pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
"...Guess who!" She said excitedly.
"...Fine... was just adding some spice..."
"...Alright alright... guess who I found in the Orange Islands..." Vanessa sweetly informed.
In the castle, the shady man hung up after his call with Vanessa. He nearly crashed his phone in his hand but refrained from doing so.
The brat was alive. And worse, his "sensei" was with him.
But he knew where he was now. And it seems like he's started to unlock his abilities, most notably his aura.
"King," he called. The muscular man showed up, "What is it now?" He asked in a bored tone.
"You should watch your tongue," the shady man snapped before calming himself, "it seems we have a lock on that brat."
King immediately began to grin, "So, we are done with the waiting game?"
"Well most of us are still playing," the shady man said, "but seeing as you bet that I would fail, why don't you go try?"
King rolled his eyes at the mention of bet -he was clearly holding a grudge with that- but grinned at the challenge, "What's his location?"
"The Orange Islands. No doubt they are resting at the moment. And the minute morning comes we won't have a lock on him."
"So you want me search every island for the brat, then," King figured.
"Do you have a better idea?" The man asked.
"...No..." King admitted but recomposed himself, "But that won't stop me."
The muscular man pulled out an Ultra Ball and sent out a Salamence with a collar. The Dragon Hoenn Pseudo Legendary let out a roar before allowing King to hop on and took off through the opened skylight.
The shady man sat back as King left, almost chuckling to himself. He secretly hoped the Chosen One would defeat King and show him some humility.
Ash's Team (on hand): Pikachu, Ivysaur, Wartortle, Pidgeot, Psyduck, Togepi, Mimey the Mr. Mime, Lapras
Ivy's Corral: Charizard, Muk, Kingler, Tauros Herd (x30), Mew
Anyways, yes I might give Ash some exposure to Mega Evolution a bit early. What Pokémon though, you have to wait and see...
King begins to hunt for Ash himself. Will he find him?
Ash, unknowingly, unlocked a new ability, his aura! He doesn't know since he was closing his eyes, but eventually he will learn.
And Seth's Eevee can turn into the Eeveelutions! This idea was inspired by the Pokémon Adventures Manga. Vanessa mentioned that Team Rocket had another but escaped. Where is it now?
And in the next few chapters, Ash goes on catching spree! Getting some non canon Pokémon in the mix now! What will be caught?
