A few years ago, in a mansion, there lived a king and queen. They had a son name Cole. He was happy with his mom and dad. Always cheerful, kind, and respectful...
But things changed when the queen passed away. The king became wicked, which affected his son's behavior. Cole soon behaved like his father after he passed. No longer kind and respectful, he dismissed everything that was not his way and became selfish. His friends within the castle tried to help him go back to the ways his mother would have wanted, but alas no avail. These traits would soon be his downfall.
When he was twelve, on a rainy day, a knock was heard on the door. He opened it and found an elderly woman, a beggar from what he deciphered. His arrogant nature caused him to cast the beggar away, his ignorance led him to believe that the woman was nothing more than a pheasant behind him. This was proven wrong as the beggar became a beautiful woman. Cole immediately began to repent for his actions and attitude but the woman turned out to be a sorceress and casted a spell on him and his friends within the castle walls.
Cole's appearance began to turn him into a creature beyond his imagination and lose his handsome appearance. His friends suffered the same fate as him, but not as horrifying. The sorceress then gave him an enchanted rose that would lose its petals by his 18th birthday. The castle Cole grew up in soon was nothing more than a horror filled atmosphere, the angels now gargoyles and the halls roamed with magical energy. Cole had turned into a beast, a horrifying beast. The sorceress said that to break his enchantment, someone would have love him.
But who could ever love a beast?
A few miles away was a small suburban town. A teenager was walking around, reading his book with interest. The teenager has curly brown hair, freckles along his face, and dressed in a blue shirt sleeved shirt, jeans, white socks and blue converses. His name is Pietro, and strolled down the road before seeing the same thing he does everyday.
"Little town, it's a quiet village
Everyday like the one before,
Little town, full of little people
Waking up to say,"
"Hello!"
"Hola!"
"Bonjour!"
"Namaste!"
Pietro was greeted the same way as every morning, the neighborhood was friendly to him for the most part. Everyone usually found him and his father odd and Pietro learned to ignore these ideas.
"There goes the baker with his tray like always
The same old pastries and desserts to sell
Every morning just the same
Since the morning we have came
To this flourishing suburban town."
"Morning Pietro," the baker called. "Good morning," Pietro greeted. "Where are you off to this morning?" The baker asked. "The bookstore," Pietro answered. The brunette was one of the few bookworms in the neighborhood. It always made him at ease, enjoying stories about fictional characters. "I just finished this story about a wonderful love story."
"Yes, yes, all interesting," the baker dismissed. Pietro rolled his eyes and went along his way.
"Look there he goes, that boy
Is strange, no question
Dazed and distracted, can't you tell
Never part of the crowd
Cause his head up in the clouds
No denying he's a funny boy that Pietro"
Making his way to the bookstore, Pietro overheard some conversations, not eavesdropping, rather they were quite loud.
"Hello
Good day,
How is your family?"
"Hello,
Good morning,
How is your wife?"
"I need six eggs!"
"That's too expensive!"
Pietro sighed, "There must be more than this provincial life!" He entered the bookstore where he meet one of the few people in this neighborhood that were nice to him and his father. "Ah! Pietro! One of my favorite customers," the store owner, Mr. Riley, said. "Where are you returning from today?"
"Romance," Pietro informed before imagining, "A dystopian society, struggle of love and morals, action filled sequences. Oh, why can't I have something like that in my life?"
"Well, you can't rush life," Mr. Riley said, "So what will it be today?" Pietro scanned the bookshelves before picking up another one, "This one."
"Ah! That book!" Mr. Riley exclaimed, "But you have read it four times at this point!" "Well, I can't help. A stuck princess meets a common boy, he sets her on a better path, the two fall in love before living happily ever after," Pietro told.
"Well, if you enjoy it so much, you can have it," Mr. Riley offered. "What? No, I possibly couldn't," Pietro said. "Nonsense, I insist," the store owner said. "Well, thank you!" Pietro said as he left.
"Look there he goes, that boy
Is so peculiar
I wonder if he's filling well
With that dreamy far off look,
And his nose stuck in a book
What a puzzle to the rest of us, that Pietro."
Pietro made his way over to a nearby bench in the nearby park, engrossed in his novel. He skimmed to his favorite part just as a runner sat down on the bench with her Siberian Husky, which approached Pietro.
"Oh isn't this amazing,
It's my favorite part because you'll see
Here is when she meets the one
But she won't discover that it's him til'
Chapter three!"
The neighbors watched as Pietro went on with his book, still talking amongst themselves.
"Now it's no wonder why he is considered the cutest man here,
His looks have no parallel.
But with his fair facade
I'm afraid he's rather odd
Very different from the rest of us,
He's nothing like the rest of us
Yes, different from the rest of us is Pietro!"
SKIRT!
A red convertible zoomed to a halt before parking. "Woah! You sure know how to go fast, Avery!" A female passenger said, getting out before stumbling a bit. "Of course, I know," the driver, Avery, another female said arrogantly. She was one of the richest teenagers on the block. She has brown hair that reached her shoulders and wore a red tank top along with dark jean shorts and black high heel boots. She loved to flaunt her money all over the place, obvious with her convertible. "No matter what you do, you're amazing at it!" Her trusty blonde friend/minion/follower, Nicole, said. She is blonde and wearing all brown, from her tank top to pants.
"Of course! There isn't a thing I can do and not a boy I can't have!" Avery boasted, eyeing Pietro walking through the park. Nicole put two and two together shortly afterwards. "The inventor's son?" "He's the one! The lucky boy I'm going to marry!"
"But he's-" Nicole began before getting cut off. "The most handsome boy in the neighborhood." "I know but-" Nicole began again before getting interrupted once more. "Makes him the best. And don't I deserve the best?" The brunette inquired. "Well, obviously but-" Nicole's words fell deaf to Avery's ears.
"Right from the moment when I met him, saw him,
I said he's gorgeous and I fell.
Here in town there's only he
Who is as beautiful as me.
So I am making plans to woo and marry Pietro!"
Three teenage boys saw Avery and immediately gushed as she came by, even if it was for a second.
"Look there she goes
Isn't she dreamy?
Lady Avery!
Oh she's so cute!
Be still my heart
I'm hardly breathing
She's such a tall, dark, strong and beautiful icon!"
Pietro had his eyes on the pages, avoiding people back-to-back. He was completely oblivious to Avery pursing him.
"Hello!"
Avery began to make her way through the mass, "Pardon!"
Good day!
Mais oui!
You call this bacon?
What lovely grapes!
Some cheese
Ten yards!
one pound.
I'll get the knife."
Avery continued to make her way through the crowd, "'Scuse me! Please let me through!"
This bread-
Those fish-
it's stale!
it's smell!
Madame's mistaken.
Well, maybe so!"
"There must be more than this provincial life!" Pietro cried out.
Avery sang, "Just watch, I'm going to have Pietro for the rest of my life!"
The neighbors continued to gossip about Pietro and his odd habits.
Look there he goes
The boy is strange, but special
A most peculiar monsieur!
It's a pity and a sin
He doesn't quite fit in
'Cause he really is a funny boy
A beauty but a funny boy
He really is a funny boy!
That Pietro!"
"Hello!"
"Hola!"
"Bonjour!"
"Namaste!"
"Hello!"
"Bonjour!"
