Years ago, I swore to myself that no matter how awful or embarrassing my older fics would seem as I grew as a writer, I wasn’t going to delete a single piece of published fanfic. On occasion, I’ll look back at my older works and mercilessly pick them apart, and it’s almost unbearable to read from start to finish. I still cringe at the plot ideas that lacked structure, poorly worded phrases, flat dialogue, and my old tendency to abuse adjectives.

All of this has allowed me to realize that the writer behind the pen has improved. That feels good. It’s a reminder that I need from time to time, when I completely doubt my abilities or feel like I’m way in over my head about ever becoming accomplished. It reminds me that I’m stronger. Better.

There really isn’t a point in telling you this. Except, maybe, I’d just really like to thank everyone who’s ever supported me. You are all constant reminders that I’m not as lost as I used to be.
