Chapter 6.
Pittsburgh.
(Scott POV)
The Freeway is completely clogged up with abandoned cars on the right said.
"Oh, No, Fuck," I said.
"Now what?" Ellie said.
"Screw it," I said.
Then Continued down the turnpike and stopped hard when a man approaches our Jeep.
"Easy," Ellie said.
"Please, help," He said.
"Holy shit Are we going to help him?" Ellie said.
"Put your seat belt on, Ellie," Chloe said.
"Help me," He said.
"What about the guy?" Ellie said.
"He ain't even hurt," I said. Flooring it.
"Oh Fuck Go, go,go," He said starting to shoot at us.
I guns it as the faker's buddies shoot at us too.
"Jesus, Oh not good," Ellie said.
As an over turned bus T bones us.
"Hold on," I said.
Then we crash in a storefront.
"I'm okay," Ellie said.
"Then get out quick," I said then a Hunter comes over and grabs Ellie.
"C'mere you," He said.
"Shit," I said.
"Let go of me, You chickenshit, Scott," Ellie said.
I kill the hunter who pulls me out of the jeep. Then the other one hits Ellie.
"I'll show you," he said.
"Get off of me," Ellie said.
Then Chloe knock the hunter off Ellie and kills him.
"Motherfucker," Ellie said.
"Come on," Chloe said.
"What's wrong with these guys," Ellie said.
"Catch your breath. We're leaving," I said grabbing our gear.
"Okay, Watch out," Ellie said making us hit the deck as more bullet rain in.
Then others start shooting.
"Shit stay down," I said.
Then Reinforcement arrive soon after.
"This motherfucker's dangerous. He killed all of them," He said.
"Shit Spread out," He said.
"Damn. This tourist got some scrap in him," He said.
Chloe and I kill them all.
"Alright, I think that's the last of them, You okay,"
"Yeah I guess so," Ellie said.
"Chloe," I said.
"I'm fine, Dad," Chloe said.
"Good cause we need to get the hell out of here, You know the drill. Look around see if there is anything we can use," I said.
"Roger that, Hey maybe we can go through here," Ellie said.
"Well we sure as hell ain't going back this way," I said lifting it and Chloe and Ellie got under and Chloe held it on the other side for me to get under and then we put it down together.
"Damn that is some pretty gnarly stuff right there," Ellie said.
Then we saw other dead tourists and their possession are laying around the room.
"Fucking Hunters, See this could've been us," I said.
"Man that is a lot of people that didn't make it," Ellie said.
"We should've turned the damn jeep around," Chloe said.
"We lived, " Ellie said.
"Barely," C'mon, Let's get outta here," I said.
"How did you know?" Ellie said.
"Know what?" I said.
"About the ambush," Ellie said.
"We've been on both sides," Chloe said.
"So you kill a lot of innocent people?" Ellie said.
"There are no such thing as innocent people anymore," Chloe said. "This fucking thing got to that,"
"I'll take that as a yes," Ellie said.
"Take it however you want," I said.
Then we come to some quarters where we got some more supplies.
"I guess this is where the assholes sleep. I mean slept," Ellie said.
Then outside we find more rotting bodies.
"Oh I don't think these guys were infected," Ellie said.
"It don't matter. Let's just keep moving," I said.
Then Ellie jumps down ahead of both Chloe and I. "Hey Ellie, slow down. Wait for us," I said.
"What? I'm right here," Ellie said.
"How about you let me and Chloe go first, And Keep your voice down," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said.
Then we start walking where Ellie starts whistling.
"I'm whistling," Ellie said.
"Oh, good. Something else you can annoy us with," I said.
"That's awesome," Ellie said.
Then Ellie finds an old corpse hanging out of a car.
"What happened here? Your fellow hunters do this?" Ellie said.
"Cute. And no My money on the military," I said.
"Why would they mow down all these people," Ellie said.
"Can't let everyone in," I said.
"So they killed them?" Ellie said.
"And Dead people don't get infected," Chloe said.
"The needs of the many out way the needs of the few," I said.
"It's kinda shitty," Ellie said.
"Yeah," Chloe said.
Then we hear a gunshot and find hunters near a barricade.
"What was that?" Ellie said.
"I don't know, Ellie Get down," I said and we hid behind a car.
"Where did you learn to shoot," One of them said.
"Man, Screw you,"
"You had an entire flock and hit nothing,"
"I'm about to hit you,"
"Wow, Yeah you're really upset. Well if you want some lessons, I'm more than willing to help you out,"
"Yeah, Whatever,"
"Where the hell are those guys? They're supposed to be here,"
"They're on the highway shift. Wouldn't be surprised if they caught another batch of tourists,"
"Spot's a goldmine. Lucky bastards,"
"See if there's anything you can forage while we wait for them,"
"Ain't nothing here, Let's keep going,"
"Screw this. I ain't waiting any longer. Let's go see what those assholes are up to,"
"They pull this crap everytime, I swear to god if they're holding out on us again,"
"Yeah. And you'll do what?"
"You'll see,"
"Yeah, I will see," They said
Then Chloe and I kill them and taking whatever ammo or supplies they had on them.
"Hey, we can climb the bus right here, Okay. we need to lighten the mood. Ready. It doesn't matter how much you push the envelope. It'll still be stationary," Ellie said.
"What is that?" I said.
"A joke Book. No pun intended volume 2 by Will Livingston," Ellie said.
"Let's keep going," I said.
"What did the Confederate soldier use to eat off of? Civil ware," Ellie said.
"Uh huh," I said.
"What did they use to drink with? Cups. Dixie Cups. I walked into my sister's room and tripped on a bra. It was a booby trap. A book just fell on my head. I only myself to blame. Oh wait I said it wrong. Hold on let me read it again. A book just fell on my head. I only have my shelf to blame. heh Ruined it. What is the leading cause of divorce in long term marriages? A stale mate," Ellie said.
"That's awful," I said.
"You're awful," Ellie said.
"Do you even understand what that means?" I said.
"Nope, Doesn't matter. Alright, I'm done, for now," Ellie said.
Then we make it to an old QZ checkpoint.
"That bridge looks pretty far," Ellie said.
"We'll get there," I said.
"Whoa, It's strange seeing a checkpoint with no soldiers," Ellie said.
"This is what most zones look like. This place has been abandoned for a while now," Chloe said.
Then Ellie finds writing on the wall. "Give us our rations. Why wouldn't they give them their food," Ellie said.
"Sometimes they ran out. Most times they just held onto it," I said.
"That never happened in Boston," Ellie said.
"Trust me. It happened all the fucking time," Chloe said.
Then we go through the processing turnstile.
"I hear Hunter," Ellie said
"Yeah, Me too. Let's keep it down while we're going through this area?" I said.
We silently kill all of the hunters both outside and inside the bookstore.
"That was too damn close," I said.
"The edge of the universe and back, Endure and survive," Ellie said.
"What?" Chloe said.
"Savage starlight. That comic I've been reading? It's what the hero says after a big battle," Ellie said.
"Endure and survive," I said.
"Yeah," Ellie said.
"Okay," Chloe said.
"Man, look at all these books. I wish I had more room in my backpack," Ellie said.
"So you're a reader, huh?" I said.
"Well. When I'm not running away from hunters or infected. Yeah I read all the time. Okay. It's time to light the mood. Bakers trade bread recipes on a knead to know basis. Knead," Ellie said.
"I get it," I said.
"A moon rock tastes better than an Earthly rock because it's a meteor. Oh man that made me hungry. A Backwards poet writes inverse," Ellie said.
"Do you even get that?" I said.
"Of course not, I used to be addicted to soap but I'm clean now," Ellie said.
"Alright I've never heard that one," I said.
"That's it. That'll all I got Now what?" Ellie said.
We left the bookstore and find corpses hanging by a warning sign.
"Man, you'd gotta be crazy to string up soldiers," Ellie said.
"You get people desperate enough. They'll do just about anything," I said
"And the people that rose up, they're the ones we've been fighting here?" Ellie said.
"That'd be my bet. Let's see where this leads us, Watch yourselves on these drops," I said.
Then we entered a flooded street and Hunters are nearby.
"Down, There's more of them," I said. "Alright I don't think they saw us," As they had disappeared into a hotel.
"Whew, There's our bridge. We're a little closer, I think," Ellie said.
"Let's keep at it C'mon," Chloe said.
Then Ellie finds an old stores supermodel poster.
"That girl so skinny. I thought you had plenty of food in your time," Ellie said.
"We did. Some just chose to not eat it," I said.
"Why the hell not?" Ellie said.
"For looks," Chloe said.
"Pssh, That's stupid," Ellie said.
Then we go into the flooded section where the hunters moved the plank.
"I can't make that jump," I said.
"If you get me up there I can move that plank," Ellie said.
"Wait here, I'll see where this goes," I said.
Then I swam out a bit when this heavily armoured car passed nearby then gunshots.
"What the Fuck, Oh, This place is bad," I said. Then I found a pallet for Ellie to get up there and swam back with it to her.
"What the hell was that all about," Ellie said.
"Get on we're cutting through the Hotel," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said and Chloe swam into a store. While I took Ellie over to the plank.
"Set that plank like they did," I said then swam into where Chloe went.
"Alright now you 2 just need to find a way," Ellie said.
Then I was in the old Coffee shop with Chloe.
"oh this place stinks," Ellie said.
"Yeah," I said.
"The woods all rotten," Chloe said.
"Did you go to coffee shops a lot?" Ellie said.
"I did all the time," I said.
"And what would you get?" Ellie said.
"Just coffee," I said.
"Do you think those hunters are gone?" Ellie said.
"We're about to find out," Chloe said.
Then we entered the large hotel the same way the hunters went.
"All clear," Chloe said then Ellie and I went in.
"Whoa, This is fancy. Ever stay in a place like this? Before it all went to shit," Ellie said.
"No, Too rich for my taste," I said.
"I bet it was nice," Ellie said. "I bet we can get up there"
"Too high," I said.
Then I look around and found a coffee maker which was broken on a back counter.
"I really miss Coffee," I said.
Then I head back over and saw Ellie and Chloe over at the Concierge desk.
"Oh, I'll be checking in for one night and I'd like your finest suite please," Ellie said.
"What the hell are you doing?" Chloe said.
"Why yes, you can take my luggage upstairs," Ellie said.
"You're weird," Chloe said.
Then I find a way past the broken stairs and grabbed a ladder nearby to get it.
"Come on up, Watch your step," I said after Chloe and I went first.
Ellie then gets up then gets out that joke book of hers. "Okay. It's time to lighten the mod. I tried to catch some fog earlier. I mist," Do you know what' not right?" Ellie said.
"Left?" I said.
"Yeah, that's awesome, What does a pirate say while eating sushi?" Ellie said.
"I don't know what?" I said.
"Ahoy. Pass me some soy. don't get it. People are making up apocalypse jokes like there's no tomorrow Too soon, That's it. That's all I got," Ellie said.
Then we cut through a window onto a low roof. and There are 2 hunters scrounging in rooms.
Chloe and I quickly and silently kill them. Then we find 2 corpses in a bathtub.
"Oh creepy, Guess they took the easy way out," Ellie said.
"It ain't easy for many it was better than letting a clicker or hunter do it for them. Trust me it ain't easy," I said.
Then we make it to an elevator that we climb on top of it.
"Let's see where this goes," I said.
Then Chloe, Ellie and I get up and Ellie shuts the hatch.
"Just in case," Ellie said. It's gonna be a tight fit, But come on," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said.
Then we sidle to the other shaft and got Chloe up there.
"You find something to climb on, Okay, here we go," I said.
"Alright," Ellie said.
"Here we go," I said Boosting her up to Chloe who grabbed her then the lift gave way and I fall down into the Flooded basement.
"Oh shit, Scott, Scott," Ellie said.
"Dad! DAD!" Chloe said.
"I'm alright, You okay?" I said.
"No you Scared the shit out of me," Their said at the same time.
"You 2 stay there. I work my way up to you," I said.
"Don't do anything stupid," Ellie said.
"I'll try," I said. "Chloe,"
"I know, Dad!" Chloe said.
Then I started looking for another way where I found fucking Spores and put my mask on and found a key card for a door upstairs then 3 - 5 stalkers where there.
"I hate those fucking things," I said. I managed to kill them silently then I found a generator and start it up Then found a Key carded door where I use the key card I found and it opened and I got out and closed the door and there were no Spores. So I took off my mask.
"Made it. I gotta find Chloe and Ellie," I said.
Then I find an old restaurant kitchen where a clicker was but there was hunters too.
I managed to kill them all quietly and find a ladder and set it up. Then when I started up the ladder another one showed up and kicked me off landing in water then he jumps down and tries to drown me. Then Grabbed my arm as I wanted to get my gun which someone picked up and Killed the fucker on me.
"Man I shot the hell outta that guy, Huh?" Ellie said holding my gun.
"Yeah," I said.
"You sure did," Chloe said.
"I feel sick," Ellie said,
"Why didn't you just hang back like I told you too, Chloe could have done that?" I said taking my gun back.
"Well, You're glad I didn't right," Ellie said.
"I'm glad I didn't get my head blown off by a goddamn kid," I said.
"You know what? No. How about hey Ellie I know it wasn't easy but it was either him or me, Thanks for saving my ass. You got anything like that for me Scott," Ellie said.
"We gotta get going," I said.
"If any of them heard they will be on their way here," Chloe said.
"Lead the way," Ellie said.
"We need to get back out, Find that bridge," I said.
"Just tell me where to go," Ellie said.
"I hate this crap," I said.
They we reach a deserted ballroom and Ellie gravitates to a beach photo backdrop.
"Wow, Look at that," Ellie said.
"That'a a backdrop. People would take their pictures in in front of it," I said.
"Yeah, I know what it is," Ellie said.
"Okay then," I said moving away.
"Something on your mind Ellie," Chloe said.
"He was gone for a really long time. Then gets pissed at me for saving him. What's he deal," Ellie said.
"It doesn't matter if he was gone for that long. I told you to stay there but you followed me. He knows I would never allowed you to come with me. Both of us need you to listen to us," Chloe said.
"Whatever," Ellie said.
"That door looks like a way out, You see a way to get there," I said.
"Nope," Chloe said.
I saw the piano and start pushing it. "This thing is fucking heavy, Chloe give me a hand," I said.
Then we get it there.
"There we go," Chloe said.
"Let's get out of here," I said. Then we get up and find an exit onto a scaffolding. But there were more hunters below patrolling. "Shit, Down," I said. As Chloe and Ellie got there.
"They haven't gotten back yet, What the hell's taking them so long?" Hunter 1 said.
"I don't know. They went to check on them. For now we wait," Hunter 2 said.
"C'mere. Keep your head down. Alright. Now, I'm gonna jump down there clear us a path," I said.
"What about me?" Ellie said.
"You 2 stay here," I said.
"This is so stupid. We'd have more of a fucking chance if you'd let em help," Ellie said.
"I am," I said. Grabbing a rifle laying nearby. "Now you seem to know your way around a gun. You reckon you can handle that?" I said.
"I sorta shot a rifle before. But it was at Rats," Ellie said.
"Rats," I said.
"With BBS," Ellie said.
"Same basic concept. lift it up. Alright now you're gonna wanna lean right into that stock, Cause it's gonna kick a hell of a lot more that an BB Rifle," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said.
"Pull the bolt back. Grab it right there, Just tug it, There you go," Chloe said.
"Now as soon as you fire, You're gonna want to get another round in there quick," I said. "Now if I get in trouble down there. You both make every shot count," I said.
"When haven't I dad," Chloe said.
"I got this," Ellie said.
"Alright and just so we're clear it was either him or me," I said Jumping down.
"You're welcome," Ellie said.
When I got down there. I managed to get rid of people on the inside but on the outside was where I need both Chloe and Ellie. I got onto the roof next to them on their right. Then give Chloe the signal then after I let a shot off so do they until all of the hunters are down. Then I head down to see them all dead.
"Alright you 2 come on down," I said.
Then A grab a hunters old pistol.
"How'd I do?" Ellie said.
I take the rifle off her and Chloe started to get the ammo out of it as I checked the handgun. "How about something a little more your size," Handing her the pistol. "For emergencies only,"
"Okay," Ellie said.
"Now the safety is on. You know how to take it off," I said.
"Yes," Ellie said.
"Alright then, Let's move," I said.
Then find in a garage door. Where Chloe and I lift it and Ellie got in and Chloe got under next and held it as I came under and we put it down. Then we found a large cart and put it next to the high up opening. Then we climb over and then heard something.
"RUN!" I heard a voice.
"Shit, Down," I said. As we hit the deck. Then we see 2 people running from the same military gun vehicle. Then they got gunned down.
"What do we do?" Ellie said.
"Nothing," Chloe said.
Then the hunters finish the girl off and check her body finding nothing and got back on then they and the armoured truck moved off.
"Oh, man," Ellie said.
"There ain't nothing we could a done," I said.
"I know, It's," Ellie said.
"Hard, We know," Chloe said.
"Let's get to that damn bridge," Is aid.
Then we sneak upstairs to find 2 more hunters and Chloe and I waiting til the right time to kill then at the same time. Which we did silently. Then we headed down more into the financial district.
"Dad, There's a guy up on that second floor. Right there," Chloe said.
"Alright you and Ellie stay down here. I take care of that guy then whoever are lefted down here," I said. Then I headed up and killed the 3 who were there. But Managed to do it when they were there just not looking at each other.
Then I headed back down and Met up with Ellie and Chloe who had find 3 more.
"Alright, Chloe, You and I take them 2. Ellie get that knife of yours, when you get behind him just put it straight into his neck fast as you can," I said.
Then we kill the last 3 hunters.
"Oh, Man. Endure and survive," Ellie said.
Then Ellie finds some more bodies killed along a wall.
"Geez, I guess this is how it ended for this zone," Ellie said.
"Every battle's got a losing side," Chloe said.
"What if they had families?" Ellie said.
"Everyone has a family. Best not to dwell on it," I said.
"How can you not? Hey get me up there," Ellie said.
I boost her up to knock down a fire escape ladder and we got up and jumped down near a prep school
"I stayed at a place like this. Back in the Boston QZ," Ellie said.
"Military Preparation school," Chloe said.
"Nice way of saying fucking Orphanage," Ellie said.
"This place has been out for a good stretch. They ain't kids no more," I said.
"Meaning they're either hunters trying to kill us or they're dead," Ellie said.
"Of they got away," I said.
"But you don't believe that," Ellie said.
"I believe in getting out of this city, Come on," I said.
"There's another one," Ellie said moving to an old werewolf poster for a movie.
"These posters are everywhere," Ellie said.
"We saw this right before the outbreak," Chloe said.
"You did? Did he totally gut her by the end," Ellie said.
"Nobody gets gutted. It's a dumb teen movie," Chloe said.
"Then who dragged you to see it then?" Ellie said.
"I don't know. Let's just stay focused and keep moving," I said.
"Alright," Ellie said.
"Let's get through the alley.
Then we hear the bloody truck again We managed to get to the other side without it seeing us. then we move to the alley way to get away from the street when the fucking truck sees us and starts shooting at us. But we hit the speed before it does.
"The fuck are they shooting at us with?" Ellie said.
"MG," I said. We managed to evade it and hear it drive off.
"I think we lost them," I said.
Then we move along a 2F ledge towards another apartment then the Vehicle showed up.
"Shit," Ellie said.
"They can't see us," I said.
Then I climb in where I get grabbed and tries to kill me. Then Chloe came in and get's knock back as Ellie was getting through.
"The fuck," The guy said. But it gave me the edge to turn the tables and then I was trying to kill him.
"Scott," Ellie said.
"Wait, Wait," The guy said.
"Dad! STOP!" Chloe said. Then I see a kid nearby pointing at gun at me.
"Leave him alone," he said.
"It's alright, They're not the bad guys, Lower the gun. Man you hit hard," He said.
"I was trying to kill you," I said.
"Yeah I thought you were one of them too. Then I saw her. If you haven't noticed they don't keep kids around Survival of the fittest," He said.
"You're bleeding," The kid said.
"It's nothing, I'm Henry, This is Sam. I think I caught your name was Scott," Henry said.
"Ellie," Ellie said.
"Chloe," Chloe said.
"How many are with you?" I said.
"They're all dead," Sam said.
"Hey, we don't know that. There were a bunch of us. Someone had the brilliant Idea of entering the city look for supplies those fuckers ambushed us. Scattered us. Now it's all about getting outta this shit hole," Henry said.
"We can help each other. Safety in numbers," Chloe said.
"We could help each other. We got a hideout not too far from here. Be safer if we chat there," Henry said.
"Alright, Take us there," I said.
"Follow me," Henry said.
"Sorry about the whole gun thing," Sam said.
"Don't worry, I would've done the same thing, Where you from?" Ellie said.
"Hartford," Sam said.
"Really? I heard some bad stuff going on down there," Ellie said.
"Yeah, The military abandoned the zone, It's why we left. Place probably looks like this by now," Sam said.
"We gotta be careful, We're right next to one if their lookout areas, is it just you and your daughters," Henry said.
"We're not related," Ellie said.
"Chloe is my daughter. I promised someone I'd look after Ellie," I said.
"Yeah, I can appreciate that," Henry said.
Then we enter a toy store when the Fucking truck showed up but we managed to hid. And they just drove on.
"How far is this place?" I said.
"We're close, Real close," Henry said.
Then we exit out towards the hunter lookout point.
"Shit, Chloe, Ellie," I said.
Then We take out the 3 hunters there at the same time.
"We did it. Not bad old timer. Come on, Up on this truck, Oh shit more guys up there," Henry said.
"Chloe," I said grabbing my bow and Chloe and I shot them at the same time.
Then we enter an apartment after.
"Through this door," Henry said.
"Are you sure it's safe being so close to them," I said.
"I'm the only one with the key, man," Henry said.
"And where's you get that," Chloe said.
"Killed one of them for it," Henry said. Then opened the door and we headed in.
"It's back here. So how old are you?" Sam said.
"Me 14. how old are you?" Ellie said.
"The same," Sam said.
"Oh you're 14 huh?" Henry said.
"I'm close," Sam said.
"Alright," Henry said.
"I am," Sam said.
Then pile into the architectural offices' suite.
"Here we are, Welcome to my office," Henry said.
"How long have you guys been holed up in here?" Ellie said.
"A few days. We found a bit of food. Though here," Sam said.
"Blueberries. Found a whole stash of them, You want some?" Henry said.
"No," I said.
"Hey, man relax, We're safe," Henry said.
"No one is ever safe," Chloe said.
"So why haven't you left?" I said.
"Been waiting for the right opportunity," Henry said.
"And," Chloe said.
"Here, Check this out," Henry said. Shows us a hunter checkpoint below us. "Look at these son of a bitched. Everyday they congregate down there. Guarding that damn bridge. Come nighttime. It's down to a skeleton crew. After sunset that's our window. With most of them gone. Sneak right past them,"
"That could work," I said.
"Oh it'll work. Definitely work. Wow," Henry said.
Then I saw Chloe over with Ellie and Sam doing that tossing up food and trying to catch it in their mouth.
"It's been a while since that boy even cracked a smile," Henry said. "She doesn't seem bothered by all this,"
"It's good to see her smile after all these years. Last time I saw her smile was with a friend of mine. Hayden," I said. "So where are you heading?"
"Heard the Fireflies are based out west somewhere we're going to join up with them," Henry said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Something Funny?" Henry said.
"Everyone putting their stocking on the Fireflies these days," I said.
"Yeah maybe there's a reason for that," Henry said.
"So you don't know where they are and you just gonna to drag him across country to find them," I said.
"I tell you what. How about I worry about my boy you worry about your girls," Henry said.
"Easy, We looking for them too," I said.
"There's an abandoned military radio station outside the city. Any survivors from out group were supposed to meet us there tomorrow, You and your girl's want to join us, It goes down tonight," Henry said.
"I guess we best rest up then," I said.
Then I shut my eyes.
(Chloe POV)
Dad finally got some sleep. Then I moved back into the other room. Then noticed Ellie coming over.
"What you doing?" I said
"What did Scott mean by someone called Hayden," Ellie said.
"Long story short, She's more of a family friend. Dad and her found each other in the Boston QZ. There were even together," I said.
"What happened?" Ellie said.
"They were together. Then was when they told me about Hayden being pregnant. Dad was smuggling then. Trying to get ready for the baby to arrive. But Dad was injured once and it throw Hayden over the edge with the mood swings. She tried to get Dad to stop but He couldn't just sit and do nothing. One day, Dad took me on a simple drop and when we got back she was gone. Leaving a note. Saying that, she couldn't be there if Dad never came back one day," I said.
"Did you know what happened to her?" Ellie said.
"We never seen her again," I said. "Only thing I know is if she had the baby. I have another sister or brother out there and I don't know where. I know that it tearing Dad apart more too. But I can't really blame Hayden for leaving,"
"Why?" Ellie said.
"Hayden and Liam. Her husband before the outbreak. Liam was bitten and he died. She couldn't be there if that happened to Dad," I said.
"You like reading right," Ellie said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Would you like to read about mine. Maybe she met her. Maybe it could help you find out," Ellie said.
"You sure that's you own Mother's book," I said.
"I'm sure," Ellie said passing it.
"Thanks," I said.
Then Ellie just left and I opened the book and started to read it. Then I saw what Ellie's Mother's name was. It was Hayden. Could that mean Ellie is my sister. I have to watch her for the next day or 2. See if she is like the Hayden Dad and I knew.
(Scott POV)
I was shock wake by Ellie.
"Hey, He says it's time to go," Ellie said.
"Now, we're gonna be moving fast, Okay? So no matter what you stick to me like glue," Henry said to Sam.
"Chloe, Let's go," I said.
"Coming Dad," Chloe said. Putting something into her bag.
"Y'all ready?" Henry said.
"Yeah," I said.
Henry leads us to the street level near the checkpoint and there was 2 in the building with us. We managed to get behind them then kill them silently. They we go outside where the hunters found a clicker in the street behind us and we couldn't move since the spotlight was on the car we hide behind it.
Once they killed it we managed to sneak and kill all of the hunters on the ground and then turned off the generator makes the hunter there come out to see what is going on then We killed the rest of them.
"Alright, We did it," Henry said.
"Give me a hand with this," I said. Then we start to open the gate when the MT Truck comes to the checkpoint. We managed to get in and locked it. Then we found a truck and a hunter was there and Chloe shot an arrow at him and killed him. Then I boost Henry up and then Chloe.
"Alright, Ellie," I said Passing her up to Chloe and then Sam up to Henry then the ladder came off.
"Okay we gotta get him up," Ellie said.
"I'm sorry we're leaving," Henry said.
"What, That's bullshit," Ellie said. "What the Fuck Henry,"
"Dad," Chloe said still there with Ellie.
"GO! I find another way," I said.
Then Ellie jumps down.
"We stick together," Ellie said then Chloe jumped back down to and we found a garage door and then Chloe held it on the other side so I can get in then Chloe slammed it down as the Truck got through the gate.
"Fuck," Ellie said. "How the fuck do we get out here,"
"We find a way," I said.
Then we walk into a pub which had more hunters. Which we managed to kill them and moved the cart blocking the door Then Ellie and Chloe got through the door.
"You 2, Go, I catch up," I said.
"You better," Chloe said.
Once I get out I saw them over by the impediments bridge to slow down the MT truck. Which then had broke through. As I was halfway to the bridge. Then I started running and catched up with Ellie and Chloe. Then we got to an impass which it will take time for the Truck to get there but the Bridge which destroyed.
"Fuck," I said.
"Dad," Chloe said and hugged me before letting go. "You made it,"
"Told you I would," I said. "How many bullet you have left,"
"They're gonna kill us," Ellie said.
"What other choice have we got," I said.
"We jump," Ellie said.
"Too high and you can't swim," Chloe said.
Then it reached the bus trying to get to us.
"You can keep me afloat," Ellie said.
"Ellie," I said.
"No time to argue," Ellie said jumping off.
"Ellie," I said. Then Chloe and I jumped and I managed to get Ellie and Chloe catched up.
"Got you," I said.
"Dad, Look out," Chloe said and I had to turn Ellie towards Chloe and then I rammed into debris and it knocked me out.

The Suburbs.
I start to wake up.
"Dad," Chloe said.
"Henry! He's awake," Sam said.
"Hey you, We're alive," Ellie said.
"See? What I tell you, huh? He's good. Everything's Fine," Henry said as I got up. "Sam's the one who spotted you 3, You guys had taken quite a bit of water. when," Then Chloe knocked him down and grabbing his gun.
"What the fuck's wrong with you?" Henry said.
"Henry!" Sam said.
"Get back kid," Chloe said.
"It's fine, hey, hey, hey, She's pissed but he's not gonna do anything," Henry said.
"You sure about that? " Chloe said.
"Stop!" Sam said.
"Chloe," Ellie said.
"He left us to die out there. he was going to left my Dad to die," Chloe said.
"No he had a good chance of making it. and y'all did. But coming back for him would meant putting him at risk, If it was the other way around would you have come back for us? I saved you," Henry said.
"Chloe, He saved me too, we would have drowned," Ellie said.
"Chloe," I said grabbed her shoulder then She throws down the gun on the sand.
"It's fine though. I'm okay. Y know. For what It's worth. I'm really glad we spotted you. Now that radio tower is on the other side of this cliff. Okay. Place is gonna be full of supplies. You're gonna be really happy you didn't kill me. hey, We're gonna search this area. see what we come up with," Henry said.
"That was intense. You cool," Ellie said.
"Yeah. Let's go find that radio tower," Chloe said Then Ellie walked off.
"Chloe," I said.
"He was going to leave you to die, Dad. I can't lose you too," Chloe said. "Not after Sarah, Not again,"
"I'm still here," I said. "Okay," Chloe nods and we split off into 2 groups after catching up with Ellie.
"For a second there, I thought you might shoot him," Ellie said.
"Almost did," Chloe said.
"They're alright. I think it's good to have them around," Ellie said.
"Think you're right," I said.
Then we found a boat which we searched for anything useful then once we got off we heard.
"Hey Ellie I think we found something," Sam said.
"Let's go see what it is," Ellie said.
Then we climb up to a large Sewer grate in the side of the cliff.
"Hey, I bet this goes all the way through. Gimme a hand with this," Henry said.
"Alright same time. Come on," I said.
"Let's do it," Henry said. Then Henry and I lift it. "You 3 get in," Then Ellie and Sam get in and back up then Chloe gets in and hold it as Henry got in then I got in and Chloe and I lowered it.
"Hey Flashlights out, Sam stay," Henry said.
"Stay close, I know," Sam said.
"Someone's finally learning," Henry said.
"See anything?" Ellie said.
"Gotta find a different way," I said.
"Scott, Chloe, We should see what's over here," Ellie said. Then we found a door.
"It's blocked," I said then found a loose vent cap.
"If you can get it open. I can crawl though and clear that door," Ellie said.
Then I got it off and a rat ran out.
"Jeez that is a big rat," Ellie said.
"Really, after everything we've been through that creepy's you out," I said.
Then Ellie gets through and clears the block.
"Do you think they'll join us all the way to Stiles'?" Ellie said.
"Well,I don't know. We're just gonna have to see how everything pans out," I said.
"This way looks like there's a path up ahead," Henry said.
Then we come across a flooded cistern.
"Can we get out this way?" Sam said.
"Nah, There's no way to reach that," Henry said.
"Well I can't swim," Sam said.
"That makes 2 of us," Ellie said.
"Alright, Scott how do we get across," Henry said.
"Guess we gotta figure something out," Chloe said.
"Hey this things on some kinda track. Maybe there's a way we can use it/ Hey maybe this'll lead to somewhere." Henry said.
"Look. A Generator," Ellie said.
"It's jammed," Henry said.
I go in the water and unclogged the sluice and swim up. "Chloe, Hit it," I said.
"Alright Dad, Here we go, Yep. It's working," Chloe said turning the wheel and I got under and found this pallet and got it down and then jumped into the water then came up and grabbed it and swam back to the others where Ellie was waiting with Chloe.
"Oh, this thing again," Ellie said.
"Let go Ellie," I said. Then Ellie got on and I swam over to the over side then once sh was up I swam back to the others and go back to the lift with Henry, Sam and Chloe.
"Alright see if that generator's still got some juice," I said.
"Here goes nothing, Alright," Ellie said when she got it running.
"Huh. I can't believe that actually worked," Sam said.
"Yeah, don't jinx us," Henry said.
"I gotta say I'm impressed with you 3," Henry said.
"Pssh, We're pros at this by now," Ellie said.
Then we come to a door with childish drawings by the door.
"What's up with this," Ellie said.
"You think there's people inside?" Sam said.
"Maybe," Henry said.
"Are we going in there," Ellie said.
Then I got open it but it sets off a trap that drops glass bottles. "Shit," I siad.
"Whoa," Henry said.
"It's a sound trap," Sam said.
"A what?" Ellie said.
"Sort of alarm," Chloe said.
"I don't hear anything," Ellie said.
"Someone used to live here, Don't look like that's the case anymore," I said.
"Who would stay in here?" Sam said.
"Well someone who thought they could keep a place like this safe," Henry said.
"Ugh," I said.
Then we heard something.
"SHH, Quiet," I said.
"Infected," Ellie said.
Then they started to attack and we managed to put them down without a problem.
"Well I guess we know what happened to these people," Ellie said as I found a short shotgun.
"Seeing as how there was a clicker, They must;ve been gone for a while," I said.
"We keep moving forward. All we can do is hope that there aren't more of them. Doubtful I know," Henry said.
They come to a room with a balcony. "Hey you think that leads out?" Ellie said.
"Could be it's too high for a boost. Maybe there's another way to get there," Henry said.
"Oh shit get back," I said
"What?" Ellie said. The door I opened drops a partition separating me from Ellie, Chloe and Henry.
"Sam!" Henry said.
"Yeah. I'm cool," Sam said.
"That was me. I must've triggered some sort of safety gate or something. Henry let's see if we can lift this. Chloe keep a eye out," I said.
"So this is awkward," Ellie said.
"Yeah I know It's like every time," Henry said.
"Clickers," Ellie said.
"What?" I said.
"Hey this thing isn't budging man," Henry said.
"Just go get outta here," I said.
"Sam you stay close to him," Henry said.
"Henry we gotta move," Chloe said.
"Fucking now," Ellie said.
"You keep him safe" Henry said.
We watch the clickers but the others got away.
"Stay on me," I said. Then had to kills a few infected by myself.
"You did it," Sam said.
"We're going keep going, You good," I said.
"Yeah, I bet there were a lot of them here. People I mean," Sam said.
"Looks like it," I said.
Then we go into the compound.
"Look at this place. It's like a classroom. Why couldn't they keep it safe?" Same said.
"I wish I knew. God knows they didn't deserve it," I said pushing him up the get a ladder down.
Then I got up.
"Good job, kid," I said.
"Fucking things?" Ellie shouted.
"Move," Chloe said.
"Is that Ellie?" Sam said.
"And Chloe," I said.
Then we enter a new room just as Henry, Ellie and Chloe do the same.
"Scott, that's them," Sam said.
"Sam!" Henry said.
"Dad!" Chloe said.
"Oh thank god. We gotta keep running," Ellie said.
"That doorway," Chloe said then we took off and Once we were all in closed the door and Sam crawl through a duct and opened the other side which was blocked out then we hit it up stairs and found an exit but it was stuck.
"It's stuck," Henry said.
"Get me through that I can open it," Ellie said as I was setting up traps to slow them down.
"Make it fast, Ellie," Chloe said.
"Sam you too," Henry said as he pushed Sam through it.
Then my traps go off and then the door opens and we got out and closed it up to stop any more infected getting out.
"Fresh air," Henry said.
"Wha?" Ellie said Then we saw the warning on the wall about infected. "Are you fucking kidding me. Thanks for the warning on the other side guys,"
"Where's this tower," I said.
"Not that far now," Henry said.
We headed on towards the Cul de sac and we jumped down then a sniper started to shot at us and we got behind a car for cover.
"Shit," I said.
"Get down," Chloe said.
"Fucking Sniper," Henry said.
"You guys stay here," I said.
"No," Ellie said.
"Before y'all start I need you guys to keep him busy. As I try and get the flank on this shithead," I said.
I managed to sneak around and then found the bastard and got behind him and knifed him in the neck killing him the Found more hunters coming from where we not just came through that long ago.
Then the fucking MT Truck showed up.
"Fuck," I said I waited for a shot on the person who was going to throw a cocktail and shot him making him drop it back inside the MT and everyone inside caught fire and died.
"Shit that was intense,"Ellie said.
"You alright Sam?" Henry said.
"Yeah. I'm okay,"Sam said.
"Thanks Dad," Chloe said as I saw her grab on to Ellie.
"Alright we did it," Ellie said.
Then 2 infected showed up getting Sam and Henry down I shot the one on Sam as Ellie killed the one on Henry.
"Henry," Sam said.
"Sam are you okay?" henry said.
"Yeah, Yeah, I'm fine," Sam said.
"Oh shit," Ellie said.
"Move!" Chloe shouts then Grabs Ellie and runs for me. I managed to hold the infect back enough for them to get into the house I'm in and close up tight before there was too many.
"Holy Fuck" I said.
Then got off the Sniper and got it off the stand and took it with me.
"You're okay," Ellie and Chloe said.
"Still here. Anybody hurt," I said.
"No we're good," Henry said.
"Let's quit this place," I said then we left the house and headed for the Radio tower.
We make it to the Radio tower and rested up and started to talk.
"Shut the hell up," Henry said.
"Dead serious. It was Stiles' Birthday. that's all he wanted to do. Rent 2 Harleys and drive back to our home town and back.
"Ah man I could die happy if I could just drive one around the block. What was it like?" Henry said.
"Good. But I didn't beat my Dirt bike I had then But Could take Stiles on that," I said.
"You know what? You 3 deserve a little privacy," Ellie said.
"No, No Ellie, Ellie this is just any regular motorcycle. Okay you get on that bad boy you feel that Engine Nothing like it," Henry said.
"Oh yeah, How would you know," Ellie said.
"I've seen it in my dreams. Vroom, Vroom, Vroom," Henry said.
"Okay," Ellie said.
Then she goes to see Sam.
"I don't Think anyone form our groups gonna show up," Henry said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Worst part about it all Explaining it to Sam," Henry said.
Then Chloe heads out onto the space just outside.
Then Ellie comes out.
(Chloe POV)
I pulled out Ellie's book again and start to read it again.
I remember meet your father for the first time. He saved my life. Of course at the time I wasn't going out with him. Then I was going out with someone who was the same age as me. Your father him too before I come to go to school there in Beacon Hills. Your father was a leader then if He is still round he still one. I was hurt bad on time and Your father give me something which help me survive. I loved him. I still do while I'm writing this. I hope he is still alive and doesn't hate me for leaving but I can't lost someone else again. But your father couldn't either not after what he has lost. If you Find him Sweetheart Tell him I love him.
Then I heard the door open and Ellie came out.
"Hey," Ellie said.
"Hey," I said.
"Anything yet," Ellie said.
"Some of it sounds like someone but until I knew who. I don't know," I said.
"What is it?" Ellie said.
"You know there is something she said which reminds me of her but I not sure," I said.
"What does it say?" Ellie said.
"She met someone who is like Dad still who saved her life. Even went to Dad's High school His home town," I said. "Ellie. I know what I am going to say is crazy. But I think Dad is your Dad,"
"What," Ellie said.
"I'm saying that your Mother. From what I'm reading here is Hayden," I said. "Both Dad and Her lost so much before they found each other. Hayden was with Liam. One of my uncles was called that. Dad Lost my Mum,"
"But not only that," Ellie said.
"No. I had an older sister before the outbreak," I said. "I saw as the Military were sent to contain the outbreak was ordered to gun us down. The fucking soldier hit her. Dad thought it hit him. Then Stiles' showed up when the soldier was about to kill Dad. Stiles' killed him, Then we saw her. She was hit in her side. She told Dad to give her. Something that could help her. But it didn't it. I was right next to her when she died. After that, Something in me died with her. I could see it happened to Dad too. He changed after that. Only one thing was on his mind then. Me. After he lost Mum. It was my older sister next. Ever since then I had to resist killing the fucking military for what they did to her in the QZ. Outside. I was more than ready to kill every fucking one of them,"
"Guess we have to wait then," Ellie said.
"Or now if you are really from Dad and Hayden. How long til your 15," I said.
"Winter," Ellie said. "Why?"
"Guess we will find out," I said then I headed in and turned in for the night.

(Scott POV)
I woke up the next morning where I found Chloe and Ellie sleeping right next to each other. Must of fell asleep on each other. Henry was making Breakfast.
Then I heard Ellie wake up as did Chloe.
"Damn. That smells good," Ellie said.
"Morning," I said.
"Where's Sam?" Ellie said.
"I let him sleep in for once," Henry said.
"Oh," Ellie said.
"Well if you want him to join us go wake his ass up," Henry said.
"OKay, "Ellie said going into Sams room.
Then.
"SAM!" Ellie said.
and she can out with Sam on her.
"Shit, He turning," I said Then went for my gun as did Chloe. When Henry shot at me.
"That's my fucking brother," Henry said.
"Screw it," Chloe said grabbing her gun and when to shot Sam when Henry shot Sam,
"Shit," Ellie said.
"Ellie are you alright?" Chloe said.
"Yeah, On my god," Ellie said as I went over.
"Sam," Henry said.
"Oh no," Ellie said.
"Sam," Henry said.
"Henry, Ellie, Chloe stay here. Henry," I said.
He point the gun at me then Shot himself.
"Oh my god," Ellie said.
