Chapter 14.
(Ellie POV)
It was my Birthday. Dad knew about it, As Dad and I went out. But Chloe had to stay to help guard Jackson. Dad and Chloe were out on a run together. It's was at least a month since we got to the last of the safehouses. Dad went ahead as I stayed with the Horse. As I still trying to learn to play this Guitar while I was sitting on a log in the forest.
"That's starting to sound like something," Dad said.
"Ugh, I suck," I said.
"Nah, Just need to build up your calluses, that's all," Dad said.
"Yeah," I said.
"All right c'mon," Dad said.
"This it?" I said.
"Yeah," Dad said.
"Oh shit, I'm gonna start guessing," I said.
"You want to spoil your surprise now," Dad said.
"I dunno, Is it a Dinosaur," I said.
(Scott POV)
"Stop trying to guess, I ain't telling you," I said.
"All right, is it an elephant?" Ellie said.
"More walking less talking, Mind your step," I said.
"I got it," Ellie said as she started coming passed me.
"Oops," I said pushing Ellie into the river. As Ellie came back up in 3 seconds. As I was laughing.
"What the Hell, Dad," Ellie said.
"You should see your face right now," I said.
"What if I drowned," Ellie said.
"You're not gonna drown, Besides, If you weren't back up in 10 seconds I would have jumped in after you," I said. "You gotta work on that confidence, kiddo,"
"Yeah, Keep laughing, Old Man, see what happens," Ellie said.
"Your swimming's getting better, Remember now? Don't just flail about you gotta," I said.
"Push the water with your whole arm, Blah, Blah, Blah," Ellie said.
"Glad to know, I'm getting through, Ellie, C'mere," I said as Ellie got here. As I hugged her. "Come on, Kiddo," As I went on a saw something. "Take a look at this, You see that deer over there, see it, Just through there look,"
"Where, Yeah, Yeah, I see it," Ellie said.
"Yeah," I said.
"Looks like," Ellie said. Then She pushed me.
"Whoa," I said falling into the water. Before I got back up again.
"How's that feel," Ellie said.
"Refreshing," I said.
"Yeah, It's not nice getting pushed in, is it," Ellie said.
"Well, Actually, We need to swim through this part anyway," I said.
"I got you back, Dad, You're angry and upset," Ellie said.
"I am very angry and upset. But I'm serious, Kiddo," I said.
"Ugh," Ellie said as She jumped in as She got to me. Which was when we swam slowly passing the snags.
"You're gonna need to dive under here, Take a deep breath," I said.
"Yeah, I got this," Ellie said as we went threw and onto a land after. "Is it my 6th grade history teacher wanting to apologize for being a massive dick,"
"What," I said.
"My Friend and I would argue whenever he called the Fireflies Terrorists, We got a lot of Detention," Ellie said.
"You know, You really need to stop letting people rile you up," I said.
"It's hard when they're dicks," Ellie said.
"Point still stands, Another Dive over here," I said.
"Where are you taking me," Ellie said.
As we went under and surfaced.
"Is it a new pair of sneakers," Ellie said.
"How many of those have you got," I said.
"Not Enough," Ellie said.
As I pulled my self up and turned for Ellie.
"Here, Kiddo," I said.
As I pulled her up and we went over the log.
"Okay, fuck it, I'm done guessing," Ellie said.
"Oh good," I said.
"But like, is it a massive comic book collection. No wait, a new DVD Collection," Ellie said.
"Yes," I said.
"Which one," Ellie said.
"Just yes," I said.
"How about laserdiscs, I heard that's a thing," Ellie said.
As Ellie walked through the tall grass and fallen tree, in the depths of the forest in a small cleared I knew she noticed the status of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"Holy shit, Dad," Ellie said.
"We're here," I said.
"Oh my god it is a dinosaur," Ellie said.
"That it is," I said.
"Dad," Ellie said.
"Surprise," I said.
"Holy shit," Ellie said. "It's a motherfucking dinosaur, King of the tyrant Lizards. That's a big boy,"
"T-Rex," I said.
As we head for the entrance to the museum.
"Wyoming Museum of Science and History," Ellie said. "How'd you find this place,"
"Lydia, She told me about it, Figured it'd be right up your alley," I said.
"Figured right," Ellie said. "What's this," As she picks up a flyer with the title Giant's of the Past.
"Un It's a book," I said.
"It's a Dinosaur Book," Ellie said.
"Okay," I said.
"All right," Ellie said. "Whoa look at those Talons,"
"That is a Velociraptor," I said.
"Actually it's a Deeohninychus," Ellie said.
"Nope, Those are Velociraptors, Yeah," I said. "Well that's what they called them in those movies, Jurassic Park and Jurassic World,"
"Oh Man," Ellie said. picking up a hat. "You wanna try it on,"
"I do not," I said.
"Your loss," Ellie said. As she put it on.
As I followed her over to the office where Ellie decided it make a joke.
"Oh hello sorry, the dinosaurs are busy right now," Ellie said.
"What are you doing," I said.
"Oh wait, one of the dinosaurs are here, Dad it's for you," Ellie said.
"Very funny," I said.
"It's pretty funny," Ellie said. "Do you get it, cause you're old,"
"Oh I get it," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said. As she rushed ahead of me. "Dad, look,"
As I saw the hat on top of a Triceratops.
"That is a hat on a Triceratops," I said.
"Its called a hatosaur," Ellie said.
"Na, doesn't work," I said as Ellie took it off. Then Went and put it on top of a Stegosaurus.
"Tiny Head," Ellie said.
"Is this going to be a thing?" I said. "Please don't let it be a thing," As Ellie got it.
Then go as she put it on my head. "Hey. Dad," Ellie said.
"Ellie," I said.
"Don't you dare take it off," Ellie said. "My Birthday, my rules,"
"I look like Arthur now," I said.
"What," Ellie said.
"Show you later," I said.
"Triceratops means 3 horned face," Ellie said.
"You would not wanna be on the business end of that horn," I said.
As we went over to the Dimetrosaurus.
"Oh, The Dimetrosaurus," I said.
"The Dimetrodon was an apex predator," Ellie said.
"Apex Predator," I said.
"The most badass predator," Ellie said.
"Nope, T-Rex would be one," I said. "Pretty short for that,"
"Wait were you talking about me," Ellie said. As she moves off. "Gallimimus name means Chicken mimic, Who names these,"
"Scientists," I said.
"Well they're dumb," Ellie said.
"The Brachiosaurus ate 600 pounds of plants each day. Imagine the Poops," Ellie said.
"They had this one scene where un, Actually one of the guys said that's a big mound of shit," I said.
"What is this movie and when can we see it," Ellie said.
"Tell ya what, When we get back to Jackson, Movie night," I said.
Then Ellie goes to the Bathroom. As Ellie started to do faces in the mirror. I was trying really hit not to bust out laughing. But when she turns I moved away. As Ellie followed. As we headed on.
"Velociraptor," Ellie said. "Dad, This is one you were talking about, The Velociraptor,"
"It's so small," I said.
"Look how thick this one's skill is," Ellie said.
"Kinda looks like Stiles," I said.
"I'm telling him you said that," Ellie said.
"Please don't," I said. "Catch it in the right light, Boom, Stiles,"
As we went on.
"Whoa this one looks like a bird," Ellie said.
"The Oviraptors. Well actually, Palaeontologists believed that Birds were descended from dinosaurs," I said.
"Well, Excuse me, Mr. Professor," Ellie said.
"I happen to know a thing or 2," I said.
"From a movie," Ellie said.
"Keep going," I said.
As we went on. As we went upstairs.
"Did you go to museums a lot," Ellie said.
"Yeah, Sarah and Chloe Loved them, I swear those 2 dragged me to every damned museum in Texas," I said.
As we got to the Brachiosaurus.
"Looks like a giraffe," Ellie said.
"Yeah it does, doesn't it," I said. Then I threw the hat on top. "I see the appeal,"
"Told ya," Ellie said.
As we went to the next part which turned out to be the Space part.
"Did you know this was here," Ellie said.
"You don't like it. We can head back," I said.
"Shut up," Ellie said. "Whoa, Hey, Dad can you name all the planets,"
"Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn Uranus, Neptune and Pluto," I said.
"Bloody hell, Dad," Ellie said.
Then She moved over.
"Hey, Dad, Guess what the first animal to go to space was," Ellie said.
"No brain there. Monkeys," I said.
"No it was fruit flies," Ellie said. "Yeah, in 1947, It was to see radiation exposure at high altitudes, They lived through it,"
"Daggum, girl, you are smart," I said.
"Thanks," Ellie said.
"Did they become super flies," I said.
"What, No," Ellie said.
"You know, That Shuttle," I said.
"Yeah," Ellie said.
"Well one of them was Called Atlantis," I said.
"What no way," Ellie said. "As in the legend,"
"The Legend of Atlantis," I said.
"Yeah, the fact that It at the bottom of the ocean somewhere on Earth," Ellie said.
"Yeah, That one," I said.
"Hey, Dad, you know how many times we've been to the moon," Ellie said.
"2," I said. "Armstrong, Was the first one there,"
"6 times," Ellie said.
"You sure," I said.
"Yeah, I'm sure, I'm gonna make it 7," Ellie said.
"Okay then," I said.
As we came across a Moon rover.
"Fuck yeah," Ellie said as she got on it.
"Moon rovers," I said. "Wait, Yeah, that's right it used joysticks, Shame this isn't the real one,"
"Considering they left the real ones on the moon. I would say now," Ellie said.
"With a few Engines mods. Maybe, we could get this running," I said.
"Hey Dad what's that," Ellie said.
"That was one of the Space stations we used to have," I said.
"What. No way," Ellie said.
"Yeah, All those satellites, Then they launched the Space station in Modules," I said.
"Whoa," Ellie said as she found a cockpit. As she went to open it and I had to help her finish it. Then she was about to get in it.
"Hey, now hold on just a minute, You going into space, You're gonna need a helmet," I said.
"oh, Right, What was I thinking," Ellie said as she got one.
"What's it smell like," I said.
"Like space, and dust," Ellie said.
As Ellie came over and got in. As I followed after her.
"Whoa," Ellie said. "What the heck,"
"So many buttons," I said.
"It's so bad ass," Ellie said. "Man could you imagine just,"
As I pulled out a tape.
"Happy Birthday, Baby girl," I said.
"What is this," Ellie said.
"This is a thing that took a mighty effort to find," I said. "Take it,"
As she put it in. But before she was about to play it.
"Close your eyes, It'll be worth it," I said.
"Okay," Ellie said Doing it. After a minutes or 2 it was over.
"I do Okay," I said.
"Are you fucking kidding me," Ellie said.
"You're welcome, Kiddo," I said. "Whaddya say we keep looking around huh,"
As I got out and then got Ellie, out too.
"Hey, Check that out," I said pushing her something.
As we got over to a door which Ellie tried to open, But didn't open.
"Here," I said as I got it open.
"There's more museum stuff over there," Ellie said.
"I never checked out that building," I said.
"Let's go," Ellie said.
"And just how do you plan on getting yourself over there," I said.
"Aahh," Ellie said as she jumped.
"Ellie," I said. As she surfaced. "You ever give anyone else this much grief,"
"Get down here," Ellie said.
"No," I said.
"Hey, Whose birthday is it," Ellie said.
"You can't keep doing that," I said.
"I want a good splash," Ellie said. "We've got more exploring to do,"
"You asked for it," I said Before I ran and jumped. "Geronimo," As I cannon bombed in.
"Nice," Ellie said.
As we got up the stair case.
"Hey, Boost me in there," Ellie said.
"Yeah I don't know," I said.
"I'll open the door for you," Ellie said. "Come on, we can't chicken out now,"
"Fine," I said. As I boosted Ellie in there.
(Ellie POV)
I just dropped down.
"Shit," I said. "Bad news, Dad, There's shit blocking the door,"
"Well, see you if you can find me another way in, I'll walk around the outside," Ellie said.
"Okay be safe," I said.
"You be safe," Dad said.
"There are dinosaurs around," I said.
As I went around and got my gun out. As I saw an Elk. Surrounded by Wolves.
"Oof, Stay Strong buddy," I said.
Then I saw something on the wall.
I killed for them.
What the heck.
"This guy needed a hug," I said.
As I went on but it was dark.
"It's dark in here," I said. As I went on a bit. As I heard something get knocked down. "Shit,"
As I got a area.
"Come out, Fucker," I said.
Then I Found a hole in the wall. As I headed through it. Then I found a note.
We wanted to end suffering. We wanted to restore humanity. Each time we sacrificed part of ourselves, our leaders kept saying it'll be worth it.
Now we've disbanded. With nothing to show for our sins.
I thought coming here might reignite something. Some purpose, My Parents loved bringing me here, It's one of my earliest memories from before the outbreak. Before all of the cruelty and savagery.
Those memories just made me Angier.
I don't want to be in this world anymore. I can't look at the person I've become.
Then put it away.
Then saw something on the wall
There is no light.
Then went through about hole in the wall. Then as soon as I got out I saw 3 Wolfs staring at me. "Ah! Stupid fake animals," I said.
As Soon as I got over I heard something again and it was a Boar which knocked me down and ran off.
"Shit," I said as I went and got my Flashlight.
Then I saw a Firefly Symbol on the wall with the words Liars underneath.
"Ellie," Dad said.
"I'm in here," I said.
(Scott POV)
As I got through the door and found Ellie.
"What was that," I said.
"It's just some animal," Ellie said. "Boar,"
Then I saw the Firefly symbol on the wall with Liars on it.
"Severed them right," Ellie said.
"What," I said.
"They would have killed me just for a fucking cure. After I just found my family. Fuck them," Ellie said.
"Come on, Kiddo. Let's get a move on, let's get a fire going before it get too dark," I said. As I headed out
"Coming Dad," Ellie said.
As we got clear and back to the horses. Where we got on after Ellie put the guitar on her house.
As we headed off where we found a nice place to stay for the night. And another good thing was that it was a house too.
"Nice," I said.
"Yeah, That should keep us safe for the night," Ellie said.
"Let's get the horses over there," I said.
"I think I see a Garage, We can put them in there. Then Clear the rest of the house," Ellie said.
"Let's go," I said.
As we got there and opened the Garage door and got our horses in. Then Ellie closed it.
Then we went and done a sweep room by room. And it came up clear.
"Clear," I said.
"Same," Ellie said.
"Looks like a good place to stay. Let's get the sofa over that door," I said.
As Ellie and I got the sofa over.
"Let's check this place for supplies, Before we get something to eat," Ellie said.
"Yeah, Let's go," I said.
After a 10 minutes at least. We were back in the main room again.
"Hey, What you get," I said.
"A few Meds. Found some Ammo. Got some food too," Ellie said.
"Nice," I said.
"What about you," Ellie said.
"Just got some Ammo. Batteries. But Found a nice Tool kit to take with us back to Jackson," I said.
"Nice," Ellie said.
After that we used some of the food Ellie found and cooked it up. And ate. Which was when I started to think about when I should tell Ellie where are we going, Once we got to SGC.
"Dad," Ellie said. "Dad,"
"What," I said.
"What were you thinking about," Ellie said.
"Something," I said.
"You going to tell me," Ellie said.
"Nope. better to see it when we get to DC," I said.
"That is a long way from here. About 1599 miles," Ellie said.
"I know," I said.
As I saw Ellie yawning.
"Come on, Kiddo Let's get some sleep," I said. As We already had a Mattress down here and some pillows and cover. As we got in and Ellie Snuggled into me. "Night Night, baby Girl,"
"Night, Dad," Ellie said.
"Love you," I said.
"Love you too, Dad," Ellie said.

By the time. Morning Came. I woke up and saw Ellie wasn't there. So I got up and heading around and found her. Looking at something.
"Hey," I said.
"Dad, Oh Man," Ellie said. As I made her jump. "I thought you were still sleeping,"
"Just woke up," I said.
"Oh, ready to go then," Ellie said.
"Oh yeah," I said.
As we went and got our gear on the horses and opened the garage door which saw it was clear. As I started to Ride back to Jackson. Which took us an hour. As the gates opened and we headed in. Grabbed our gear and someone came and took the horses off us.
As we headed for home where we found Everyone there. By Everyone I mean Pack.
As Chloe came over and hugged both Ellie and me.
"You're back," Chloe said.
"Yeap," I said.
"Well how was it," Chloe said.
"It was brilliant," Ellie said.
"Good," Chloe said.
"So we ready," I said.
"We can't all go, Scott," Lydia said.
"She's right Scott," Stiles said.
"Alright, Chloe, Ellie, Cora, Derek and Malia, We'll got there," I said. "Lydia you and the rest hold down the fort. As we got what we need and beam back here, And Beam everyone to you know where,"
"Alright," Lydia said.
"Already Gear out, We take an SUV, With some Phaser Snipers, Rifle, And Compression Rifles, Arrows, Ammo, Meds and Supplies," I said.
"We'll get that sorted out," Lydia said.
"Already we leave first thing tomorrow morning," I said.
As everyone left.
Chloe, Ellie and I went and got ready for tomorrow. So it was ready to grab in the morning. Ammo, Guns everything loaded up and ready. Then we went and got a few things and came back and cooked up some dinner.
Where we sat down and switched on the TV. As Chloe already had something on. Turned out to be Resident Evil. First one. Which I could tell that Ellie was getting into, She liked it.
"That was brilliant," Ellie said.
"Told you it was," Chloe said.
"What was it," Ellie said.
"Resident Evil," I said. "First one in the series,"
"Those things looked like infected we face. Apart from the Dogs and those things, What were they," Ellie said.
"Lickers," I said.
"Lickers," Ellie said.
"The no eyed dogs," I said.
"Right," Ellie said. "How many are in the movie series as you call it,"
"5," Chloe said.
"Damn," Ellie said.
As I looked at saw the time.
"We should get to bed. We have an early start in the morning," I said.
"Yeah, Come on, Ellie," Chloe said.
As we headed up and I went to my room and got showered and changed into bed. As Chloe and Ellie came in and climbed in with me. As we fell asleep.
