 Author has written 6 stories for Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Eyeshield 21, Shokugeki no Soma/食戟のソーマ, and Hunter X Hunter. Hi, I'm yagisa! I like reading fanfictions and drawing. Mostly drawing to be perfectly honest. My fics have still a long way to go but I hope you enjoy them nonetheless! Currently, I'm working on Even Monkeys Fall From Trees, featuring a (sort of) SI!OC in a loving parody of the self-insert / reincarnation genre. My updates are pretty random but I do try to update once or twice a month. EMFFT is probably the only fic in here that I've worked on consistently for more than year and I do hope to deliver a satisfying sort of fic to my readers. Even Monkeys Fall From Trees Info: This is basically just some extra and unnecessary information on how this fic came to be lol. In case anyone's interested. EMFFT began as a self-indulgent fic when I was on a isekai light novel binge. It was also at a time where I rewatched HxH (the 2011 version) and found myself falling in love with the world and characters all over again. Inspired by this, I decided to write something that mixed the two together in what was hopefully a humorous and loving parody of the genre. I was a bit hesitant at first to share my work here as I didn't think anyone would be reading fics of this fandom, especially when we're barely getting any new material. But, thanks to all the kind feedback I received (which is a whole lot more than I expected actually!) I decided to post more of the chapters. Why is Hazuki Japanese? There really isn't a deep reason. To be honest, it's mostly because I see Caucasian SI/OCs in fics, which is cool and all but I wanted something outside of that. And since the isekai light novels I was reading at the time featured Japanese protagonists, I thought why the heck not? When I first wrote Hazuki, I visioned her to be the classic tsukkomi (straight man, google: manzai) protagonist who had a lot of things to say about everything. She's very opinionated and has a lot of internal snark but rarely verbalizes it in every day conversation and often wilts at the first sign of danger. The majority of the story is told from her perspective so it's a bit colorful in that regard haha. The cast of HunterxHunter are pretty eccentric and I wanted to write a character to point out just how far removed from norms the characters are, and so Hazuki Taniyama was born. How do you write Hazuki's name? 谷山 (Taniyama), combining the characters for valley and mountain. 葉月 (Hazuki), combining the characters for leaf and moon. Incidentally, Hazuki was born on August. Will there be romance? Yeah fo' sure. It's a staple in this genre! Although I still don't know who I should pair Hazuki with. We're still a long long way from the end of this fic. Who's endgame for Hazuki? Happiness and stability. Will this story ever be serious? I'm still debating on it lol. Is Hazuki a Self-Insert (of the author) or an Original Character? She's an Original Character who accidentally wanders into the HxH world. She refers to herself as a self-insert but is ultimately an original character I made for the purposes of this fic. Think of her as the amalgamation of typical isekai / transmigration light novel protagonists but a little weirder and a less competent. To be honest, I'm more comfortable writing in other characters' POV more than I am with her own. She's so bubbly and has a lot of energy, that I, as her creator? writer? author? mother? torturer?, find exhausting to keep up with. Nonetheless, I adore Hazuki very much and she's one of the OCs I have who's design I like very much. Drawing her is fun! Where can I see the art? Currently, it's hosted at yagisa at deviantart.
