![]() Author has written 15 stories for Lion Guard, Hunger Games, School of Fear, Avatar: Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, and Harry Potter. EDIT: Someone PM'd me and told me that my bio read like a reflection essay. I laughed for a solid ten seconds before resolving to update it to a more stereotypical fanfiction.net bio. So here we are. EDIT 2: I just realized that I accidentally misspelled my pen name. Furthermore, apparently, FirePhoenix11 is already taken, so the current one has to stay. Every time I log on to this website from here on out, I'm quite positive the misspelling is going to irk me. Basic Info: Sup, I'm Maddie and I write fanfiction for fun. I am an Indian-American woman, not to be confused with an American-Indian woman. I have a wide array of fandom interests; I enjoy fandoms ranging from Disney's The Lion Guard to Agatha Christie's murder mystery novels. I'm also a huge computer/mathematics geek with an affinity towards the creative arts such as writing, artwork, and music. Quite the combination, huh. Anyhoo, without further ado, here are some things you may or may not know about me: Name: Madeleine (Maddie) Birthday: December 14, 1998 Hobbies: reading, writing(duh), doodling, playing my cello, reading webtoons, going on road trips, binging shows, along with the occasional hackathon. Favorite Movies/TV shows(in no particular order): Arrow — Flash — The Hate U Give Clueless — MacGyver — The Lion King — Beauty and the Beast — The Little Mermaid — Mulan — Anastasia — Aladdin (2020) — Tangled — My Hero Acadamia — The Lion Guard — Avatar: The Last Airbender — Hamilton (does that count?) — The Boy With the Striped Pajamas— Letters to Heaven — My Girl — Bridge to Terabithia — Five Feet Apart — Mean Girls — Winter's Bone — Crazy Rich Asians — Carmen Sandiego. Favorite Books (also in no particular order): The Hunger Games — Harry Potter — Percy Jackson — Life of Pi — The Giver — Animal Farm — Fahrenheit 451 — A Tale of Two Cities — We were Liars — And Then There Were None — Two Can Keep a Secret — Of Mice and Men — The Wrath and the Dawn — School of Fear — The Fault in Our Stars — Looking for Alaska — To Kill a Mockingbird — Touching Spirit Bear — The Bridge to Terebithia — The Color Purple — The Song of Achilles — One of Us is Lying — Five Feet Apart — The Lines We Cross — Paper Towns. (If you're reading this, PM me with book suggestions; I want to start reading more.) Favorite Music: I've played the cello since I was ten and I have an appreciation for all sorts of music (even considered pursuing a degree in music for a hot minute), but lately I've been enjoying indie music as well as music that invokes nostalgia. Anything by The Oh Hellos, anything in Hamilton, and any Disney song. That being said, I'm not picky at all when it comes to music. If you put on something on the radio, as long as it's not raunchy and I wouldn't consider it literal ear-assault, then I'll probably like it. Favorite Candy: Skittles. Without a doubt. Taste the Rainbow. Favorite Drink: Iced Tea — my Texan side is really showing with this one. Favorite Holiday: Christmas. While, yes, Christmas in North Texas is sort of lame in comparison to Christmas in a northern state with a lot of snow, there's something "magical" about that time of year — regardless if you're a person of faith or not, amiright? Hogwarts House: I think Ravenclaw? I took the official Pottermore quiz a year ago (before I read the books or watched the movies) and got Gryffindor, and when I took it again recently, I got Ravenclaw. On unofficial house tests, I've been given a mix between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor (with the occasional Slytherin or Hufflepuff). I'm just going to say Ravenclaw (mostly because I want to be in the same house as Luna Lovegood ) Panem District: District 3 Faction: Officially, Erudite (though I like to think that I'm somewhat divergent) Zodiac Sign: I do not believe in Astrology whatsoever, but I do find it amusing and entertaining. Thus - here are my rising, sun, and moon sign: Gemini rising, Sagittariussun, & Scorpiomoon. My friend who's super into Astrology (Ronnie), took a look at the rest of my birth chart (which mostly consists of Sagittarius and Scorpio with some Virgo sprinkled in) and laughed. I'm hoping that's a good thing? Other Accounts/Collab Accounts: Quick Note: As of 10/18/2021, I've basically migrated over Ao3. I prefer the much more user-friendly and modern interface as well as the author-friendly aspects it has inbuilt into it. Don't want to complain too much, but sometimes the troll and mean-spirited commenters can get a little tiring. I'll still keep up FFN and update on here, but I'm more active on there. In other words, if you have a guest account and would like to ask me a question, jump over on Ao3 and ask me on there. Over there, I can directly reply to you and you'll get an email notification -- very much unlike the structure here on FFN. Wattpad/Ao3: FirePheonix11 these are the ONLY other accounts I have. I know there are other social media accounts that happen to have the same username -- those are NOT me, and I have no idea who those people are. Collab Account: I'm also part of a collab account, MarvelPheonix123. The fics on there mainly belong to marvelomac1010, but Demongirl123 and I beta-read/co-author most of them. Feel free to check it out. FAQs: Are you going to finish *insert here* fic? - Unless I have explicitly mentioned that it's going to be on permanent hiatus, then, yes, I will be finishing it. Currently, I have one fic that is in indefinite hiatus/reconstruction (We Burn with You) because while I do have plans for completing it, I am no longer interested in the fandom. Why don't you respond to reviews anymore? - Responding to every review in the actual chapter itself takes a considerable amount of time that I could be spending on other things. I also happen to find it a little cringe-worthy (no hate at all to any authors who do this, though; I personally do not enjoy it). If you have an account and you leave a review, I generally try to respond to those reviews. If you're leaving a comment under a guest review, know that I appreciate every single one of them -- even if I don't respond to each one. If you don't want to create an account (totally understandable) but want a reply to a question, go over to Ao3 and ask it under a guest review. I can reply directly to you, and you'll get an email notif. Why do you take so long to update? - So, you see, unfortunately, I have this thing called a full-time job :P Jokes aside, I'm pretty busy irl. In addition to working, I'm part of a string ensemble with some of my friends, and we play for weddings and events of that nature. I've also got responsibilities to my parents/siblings/niece/partner that trump any of my hobbies, writing included. You're an adult. Why are you writing Fanfiction? - This question mostly gets asked by irl people (there is the occasional troll commenter), and I give the same answer every time. Just because you're an adult doesn't mean you have to stop liking the things you like. Of course, hobbies shouldn't take precedence over imminent obligations, but life without hobbies is like oatmeal without sugar: Boring and plain asf. Is Madeleine your real name? - No, of course not. You have three days to guess my real name, or else I'm stealing ya firstborn child. (In all seriousness, yes, that is my real name -- not just a pen name.) Will you ever delete any of your fics? - This question was asked by a reader wondering whether or not they needed to download one of my fics in case I were to delete it. The answer is: no. I have deleted a few of my fics in the past (some super embarrassing School of Fear WiPs from 2015 that I posted in 2019), but I won't be deleting anymore. I know some of my earlier stories suck, but I'll be keeping them up no matter what. Can I translate/repost? - Of course. A few of my Kainora one-shots have been translated to Russian to a Russian Fanfic site. I love seeing people translate/repost/share my work. Just PM me so I can have a mini ego-boost lol. Same deal applies with fanart, though I doubt that would happen. My Ships (in order of preference): Harry Potter - Avatar: The Last Airbender - The Legend of Korra - The Hunger Games - The Lion Guard - School of Fear - MLB - Arrow (the following may change as I'm still only on S3)- Quotes That I Like (either because they inspire me, or amuse me): - "That's rough, buddy." ~ Prince Zuko, Avatar: The Last Airbender. - "Pride is not the opposite of shame, but its source." ~ Uncle Iroh, Avatar: The Last Airbender. - "Not my cabbages!" ~ The Cabbage Merchant, Avatar: The Last Airbender. - "When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change." ~ Avatar Aang, The Legend of Korra. - "I'm not going to hold your hand every time you have to empty your royal bladder!" *a few minutes later* "Ugh, the one time I didn't watch him pee and this is what happens." ~ Mako, The Legend of Korra. - "Don't worry. I will protect you, my feeble turtleduck." ~ Eska, The Legend of Korra. - "Why didn't anyone tell us we have a secret prison we could have been throwing people in?" ~ Eska, The Legend of Korra. - "Let's go! You and me, Pretty Boy." ~ Korra, The Legend of Korra. - "Fire is catching, and if we burn, you burn with us!" ~ Katniss Everdeen, Mockingjay. - "It takes ten times as long to put yourself back together as it does to fall apart." ~ Finnick Odair, Mockingjay. - "Madge. Quiet and kind and brave. The girl who gave me the pin that gave me a name." ~ Katniss Everdeen, Mockingjay. - "That — is — mahogany!" ~ Effie Trinket, The Hunger Games. - "At the end of the day, it's like water and rain. Sisi ni sawa, we are the same." ~ Jasiri, The Lion Guard. - "He is half of my soul, as the poets say." ~ Patroclus, The Song of Achilles. - "I would know him in death, at the end of the world." ~ Patroclus, The Song of Achilles. - “And perhaps it is the greater grief, after all, to be left on earth when another is gone.” ~ The Song of Achilles. "I am a wizard, not a baboon brandishing a stick." ~ Harry Potter and Half-Blooded Prince. - “Why are you worrying about YOU-KNOW-WHO, when you should be worrying about YOU-NO-POO? The constipation sensation that’s gripping the nation!” ~ Harry Potter and the Half-Blooded Prince. - “Remember Cedric. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right, and what is easy, remember what happened to a boy who was good, and kind, and brave, because he strayed across the path of Lord Voldemort. Remember Cedric Diggory." ~ Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. - “Things we lose have a way of coming back to us in the end, if not always in the ways we expect.” ~ Luna Lovegood, Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix. - "I'll join you when hell freezes over." ~ Neville Longbottom, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. - "I'm going to bed before either of you come up with another clever idea to get us killed, or worse... expelled." ~ Hermione Granger, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. - “The only way out of the labyrinth of suffering is to forgive.” ~ Looking for Alaska - “So I walked back to my room and collapsed on the bottom bunk, thinking that if people were rain, I was drizzle and she was a hurricane.” ~ Looking for Alaska - “We need never be hopeless because we can never be irreparably broken.” ~ Looking for Alaska Currently Reading / Recently Read: The Kane Chronicles: the Red Pyramid (Just finished the HP series as a 22 yo, and decided to read all the other YA must-reads that I was missing out on, starting with PJO Universe. Rick Riordan's way of incorporating humor in his books is unmatched.) One of Us is Lying (10/10 would recommend!) The Lines We Cross (another wonderful read) Five Feet Apart (re-reading this book gave me all the feels) Paper Towns (I laughed so many times reading this book! Honestly, one of my faves from John Green) Currently Watching / Recently Watched: The Arrowverse (I'm watching The Flash S1 & Arrow S3 and I'm lovin' it. Side note: Cisco is the definition of adorable, and all the girls in Arrow are just *chef's kiss* amazing. Also, Diggle rocks and is the biggest Olicity shipper of all time lol.) Captain Marvel (Grew up in a hyper-religious household, so I wasn't allowed to watch or read anything fun growing up. Hence why I'm catching up on all the YA must-haves now. So, I'm catching up on the MCU movies. Just watched Captain America: The First Avenger and recently finished Captain Marvel.) Well, that's all for now. I'll probably add some more to this bio later. Till next time, Madeleine |
