Through the Endless Reaches of Space…
"Stabilizers functioning normally… engines are at a full 100 percent capacity… looks like everything is going alright so far." The brunette whose long hair was held by a white headband with a bow commented while her ruby red eyes scanned all of the controls at the panel.
The brunette's attire consisted of a green shirt over a red short-sleeved hoodie jacket along with a black skirt that was held by a brown belt. Grey leggings and pink heeled sneakers with green soles adorned her legs and feet while a set of grey fingerless gloves covered both hands.
Right now this young woman was staring at the console, more specifically the map in regards to their destination - an unknown world somewhere in the far reaches of the universe. And hopefully one that would never be discovered… by them.
Just thinking about 'them' made her shiver in fear and disgust. The fact that everything ended in a pyrrhic victory didn't help the situation at all… friends and foe had died. Everyone had moved on… everyone except herself and someone close to her. All of this was so frustrating that the two had enough and decided to leave for good. It didn't matter where or when… as long as it was away from the islands or any of the worlds nearby.
The silence was interrupted by the opening of a door to which another young woman stepped forward into the cockpit. Her short-styled hair was colored in auburn style while her blue-colored eyes scanned the brunette in front of her. She donned a pink-black sleeveless dress with black ruffles on one side of her skirt and plaid on the other while a set of thick belted boots covered her pale complexed feet.
"Hey, Mi." The girl wished with a small smile as the brunette turned to her and smiled. "Hey, love. How are you holding up?"
Said female teen sighed. "As best I can… I don't think the negativity will go away. Not for a long time."
Mina gave a small nod. "I know… the final battle had taken a huge toll on us. Scratch that - you're the one who is suffering the most, Kairi."
Kairi was on the verge of crying once more but the tears didn't leak because she held them back. Instead she just pinched her eyes softly and sighed. "I can't… Mina, I just can't. I know it's selfish but I'm not going to move on… no matter what. Maybe one day but not now."
Instead of giving her a negative remark or flipping her off, Mina just got up and shoved her into a hug. "Don't worry… I'm not going anywhere. Nor will I blame you… what happened at the graveyard… It was never your fault. I blame the people who sent us and our friends to our most potential deaths."
Kairi appreciated the hug from her 'friend' and smiled a bit. "Thanks, Mi. You're a true friend."
Afterwards, the two closed their eyes and connected their lips together. They started a slow but passionate kiss among one another which didn't stop until after a couple of minutes. They smiled at one another - comfort visible on their faces.
"I love you." They whispered to one another before Mina set the ship on autopilot to their unknown destination. The time until arrival read: 'Destination to mysterious world - 4 hours and 30 minutes'. It would be a while until they reached their destination but for now they had to find a way to relax and remove all of the negativity away. Luckily, Mina knew how to do just that…
"Okay, we've got exactly 4 hours tops until we arrive. Kai, I'm itching for a movie and some cuddling. Unless you want to do something else tonight?" She asked her girlfriend who already shook her head.
"To be honest, I'm itching for a movie. I'd rather watch one with the girl of my dreams than anyone else if I'm being honest." Kairi admitted.
Mina nodded as the two girls left the cockpit and went downstairs towards the living room where the television was set up along with the fridge. Both were eager to spend a quiet evening just relaxing and watching a film while satisfying their hunger. All of this while the Gummi Ship rolled through space on route to its destination.
(Hours later...)
Despite the promise of wanting to watch the entire movie that they had picked together, Mina and Kairi had seemingly fallen asleep halfway in each other's arms. Both were at peace and dreaming about their future together when the alarm started blaring out of control.
Mina and Kairi awoke with groans while yawning. "W-what… did we get to the end?" The brunette wondered.
'ALERT! ALERT! Approaching the world! Please take your positions in a calm and orderly fashion!'
"Wait, we're arriving!? That was fast!" Kairi commented and got up followed by Mina. They left for the cockpit quickly to take control of the ship before things ended up in a disaster.
"Okay, okay… Kairi, hit off the autopilot!" Mina ordered as she sat down in the captain's chair while Kairi went to stop the autopilot. Once it was switched off, the redhead sat in her own chair and stared at the console showing
"Looks like we'll be in for a clash landing, Mi. Ship won't be able to settle in for a smooth landing sadly." Upon Kairi saying that, the ship began to tilt.
Mina groaned with a sigh. "Well, I guess it's up to us to soften the landing impact. Kairi, hold on - this might be a little tricky…" She warned her.
Grabbing the steering mechanism, Mina pulled the ship up as the tilting became more severe. A fireball engulfed the entire vessel as Kairi held onto dear life while her girlfriend attempted to slow the crash as best she could…
Sadly, the tilting increased and Mina eventually lost control as the surface of the unknown world came into view. "Oh, fuck… Kairi, hold on-"
And that was the last thing that the brunette spoke before everything went black along with the ship's power being disabled. Silence filled the entire cockpit.
