Hello fellow lovers of fanfiction! My name is Liz, and my pen name is a compilation of my favorite female characters from my favorite books/manga.

The name Kotoko comes from a manga Itazura na Kiss. Aihara Kotoko is the main character and more than a little silly, but very endearing. She is in love with Irie Naoki, who is beyond irritated by her very presence, but then circumstances lead them to living together! If you haven't read it, or watched the anime, or the 5 Asian dramas based off it I highly suggest you do! Daine is actually a nickname for Veralidaine who is the main character from The Immortals series by Tamora Pierce. The story, set in a fictional universe but during what we would probably consider times similar to "medieval" times, revolves around Daine, who can speak to animals. Fantastic series, but if you're going to read it (everyone should!) you need to read the first series, Song of the Lioness by the same author. The third name, Tohru, is the main character from the popular shojo manga Fruits Basket. If you like manga, this is a must read! Though much of it is silly, there are some very poignant points made throughout the series. Tohru meets the physical embodiment of the Zodiac animals and her life is changed because of it, but so are theirs. I highly recommend all of these!

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer (brilliant novels based on fairy tales set in the distant future. I'll just say that Cinderella is a cyborg!)

The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne (Atticus O'Sullivan is a 2000 year old Irish druid living in Arizona coming into regular contact with vampires, werewolves, witches, and my favourite, Gods from every pantheon (seriously, EVERY pantheon) )

The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss (There is nothing here that I can say that could accurately describe these books to you. It's actual magic. Go read it.)

Throne of Glass by Sara J. Maas (Celeana Sardothien is an assassin saved from a labor camp by the prince to compete in a contest to become the King's Champion, and so much more happens after that, you should just read them.)

Manga:

Skip Beat! by Yoshiki Nakamura (A teenage girl gets thrown aside by the man she's been taking care of once he becomes famous, and she vows to get her revenge by becoming more famous. It sounds silly but it's actually so great.)

I have actually been a writer on fanfiction.net for a while but I took a pretty long hiatus and came back and realized how crap most of my stories were! So I deleted some, and for the time being I'm going to try and stay away from the temptation of writing long fics, because it's been so long since I've regularly written. I'm part of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry forum, so for now I hope to at least post one shot fics once every two weeks. I really do hope that someday I can get to the point in my writing that I can start a story without fearing that all my creativity will fizzle out before chapter 6, and I think just getting back into regular writing may help!
