Note: Ugh I hadn't realised that in the first chapter I put Yuki as 16 but she's actually 14. The others are 14 apart from Natsu who is 13.

Tokyo Revengers: Empress of Japan

Chapter 3: Friends

It had been an hour since those 5 criminals had taken the antidote and were taken to their homes, sooner or later the police would come to arrest them. Mikey had made an announcement to his gang who also swore to not react with any violence or rat out Kogo for what they did. Almost all of the members of Toman and Kogo had gone home, save from the Founding Members of both gangs and Chifuyu and Emma but Pah-chin had left. Coincidentally, the 12 young teens knew each other.

Draken was Tsurumi's first ever friend seeing as her mother would secretly work in the brothel when her husband would work during the day, and she'd leave her 4-year-old in the hallway. The red-haired girl was also childhood friends with Baji too, seeing as her father and his mother were high school friends. Haneul's first friend she made when coming to Japan was Emma as the Korean girl used to be bullied for not being able to understand anything, and the youngest member of the Sano family would beat up anyone who made her cry. Haneul would spend her childhood days in the Sano Dojo, where she also befriended Mikey over their love for fish shaped pastries and where she would also kick Baji's ass. Natsuki was also childhood friends with Chifuyu and they both attend the same middle school with Baji too. Minami lived in the same neighbour as Hakkai and her and her siblings were close to Takashi and his sisters too. Yuki had many best friends, one of which was Mikey.

"Yuki, how is Ume?" Emma asked curiously.

The Tsukino and Sano families were both close family friends. Their firstborns were best friends and eventually fell for each other. Shinichiro Sano and Sakura Tsukino, were husband and wife and Ume was their little girl; the only thing left from them.

"She's doing great. I'm going to bring her to the Sano house for Christmas and dropping off some of her presents along the way." The blonde-haired girl grinned brightly at this; she loved taking care of her niece and thought that she had to be the cutest girl in the world. "Mikey, please don't make her cry this year."

"You made a 5-year-old child cry?" Draken asked with a scowl.

"It's wasn't my fault!" Mikey whined with a pout.

"You ate the cookies she left out for Santa!" Emma exclaimed.

"That is just cruel, Mikey How can you make a little girl cry?" Baji stated whilst shaking his head and Tsurumi just smiled smugly whilst crossing her arms.

"You can talk Kei-kun, practically every child in Tokyo is scared of you. One look and they're weeping." Everyone began to laugh but the dark-haired boy glared at her whilst approaching her.

"I'll make you cry in a minute." He cracked his knuckled and the red-haired girl just placed her hands on her hips whilst leaning forward; that cheeky smile not faltering.

"Oh yeah, Kei-kun. Remember when I told you Santa didn't exist last week." His thick eyebrows furrowed together and he looked away.

"N-no I didn't!" He stuttered nervously trying to come across as tough. "I did not cry!"

"You cried for 3 hours." The red chuckled.

"Damn Baji-san even I know he isn't real and I'm the youngest in Toman." Chifuyu said.

"Santa's not real?" They all turned to Natsuki who frowned with sparkling eyes.

"Oh shit." Tsurumi swore under her breath.

"No, it was a joke. You know how stupid Tsurumi-chan can be." Yuki glared when she mentioned the girl's name.

"Hey!"

"Ha-ha." Baji laughed and earned a death stare from his childhood friend.

"We're gonna have a long talk tomorrow Natsu-chan." Minami sighed.

"Yuki…" She heard Haneul's voice and turned to see her pouting with sparkling eyes. Yuki's eyebrows rose with realisation and smiled reassuringly whilst nodding.

"Okay Baji, I want her to get back safe." Baji turned to Yuki who crossed her arms.

"You know she lives with my mom and I." He stated.

"Don't get home too late." Emma warned him.

"My mom will kill me if I do."

"Baji, try to behave yourself." Draken stated and the dark-haired boy huffed. "No violence today."

"Draken, what do you take me for?"

"Yeah, try not to break anyone's legs." His Commander said nonchalantly.

"Or arms." Chifuyu added.

"Or face." Takashi chimed in.

"Or hips." Minami mumbled with Natsuki raising her hand.

"And don't break anyone's neck either."

"What do you guys have against me?" The 14-year-old asked. "If anything, you should be warning Haneul. She's the scary one!"

They all turned to his girlfriend who was touching up on her makeup with a mirror in front of her. Then they turned to him with deadpan faces; doubting the fact that this sweet innocent girl would hurt anyone on purpose. Haneul looked at Baji and pouted.

"Why would you say such a thing, honeypie?" The brunette whined with a cute little pout and the boy instantly started blushing, she was adorable even when she feigned innocence.

"Yeah honeypie, how dare you." Tsurumi overly exaggerated.

"Can it, ketchup."

"I'm ready, honeypie. Let's go." The brunette smiled sweetly. When Baji turned to her, his cheeks turned bright red.

Haneul had taken off her haori and her outfit underneath was revealed. The 14-year-old-girl wore a black turtleneck, black skater skirt with black shorts underneath and square toe chunky knee-high boots. She was wearing a black faux leather jacket up to her mid-thigh and a black knitted scarf she made herself. She wore only a little red lipstick and some mascara, with her cheeks pink from the cold. On her shoulder was a cute black satchel to complete the look.

Baji stood there just staring with wide eyes. He looked like a computer which had just froze up, his brain not being able to function. Every time he saw her smile brightly at him, dressed up, when she's got bed hair in the morning, when she's furious at her; he thought what he did to deserve such a warm person like her. His mother would always say that he was the moon and Haneul was his sun. Many times, he would just pinch himself to remind himself that he wasn't dreaming.

The Korean born girl, took his hand in hers, pulling him to run down the stairs whilst saying goodbye to everyone. Baji just stayed looking at the girl in a daze. When he got to his motorbike, he snapped out of his daydream. The girl tiptoed and put on his deep blue helmet on. She opened up the compartment on his bike underneath his seat and put his black leather jacket on. With one hand, he took hold of and twirled her hair into a bun and with the other he put her helmet on her head. Baji was always a boy who never did anything with grace of care; but when it came to Haneul, he treated her as if she was made of fine porcelain. She found this to be so adorable and would silently appreciate it, always blushing whenever he did so.

"I don't wanna ruin your hair." He said as he clasped the strap of the helmet under her chin.

"Maybe when I take this off, I'll look like the woman from the Grudge posters." She joked and they both got onto the bike.

"You're actually lucky that I'm going with you to see it." Baji stated whilst switching on his motorbike. "You know I hate scary movies. This Grudge better not be that scary."

"Don't worry honeypie, it won't be that scary. And even if you do get scared, you can always hold me tight. I'll protect you." She wrapped her arms around his torso and he felt his heart beat faster with blood rushing to his cheeks.

"That boy has got it bad." Yuki said as they all watched the couple zoom away in the distance. "And I mean really bad."

"Anger problems?" Mikey asked.

"That too." Minami replied.

"Love, Mikey." Draken said. "They're young, but they do love each other."

"You do realise she's older than you." Tsurumi stated with a smirk.

"By a goddamn month, Tsurumi! I don't think that makes a difference!" He rolled his eyes.
