A/N: Okay guys, warning time. This story will have dark themes.
It will have assault, rape and violence in the upcoming chapters.
I don't normally do dark stories, but this one will most definitely be one. I am posting this chapter and it moves rather quickly. But soon, the chapters are going to slow down. In addition to this, i'll try to post additional warnings where I can. With that said, I do need to edit this chapter a bit still but it was a chaotic day so I am posting this chapter early.
Also, I have altered/updated the first few chapters a bit. If anyone has any questions, concerns, feedback or recommendations, please feel free to throw me a review. They always make my day.
"So, apparently, someone becomes interesting after being left unsupervised. Who knew that my friend had it in her?"
Kagome Higurashi let out a snort at what her friend was insinuating and rather quickly regretted it. The sharp pain that surfaced from such an action told her everything she needed to know about how the day would be going. This hangover was going to be problematic.
Even as her bestfriend entered the office, she noted the curiosity and amusement that flickered in her eyes. She knew all too well what that meant. Sango was here for information and to poke her for answers.
Well, she would find herself to be severely disappointed.
"Interesting? Sango, we started drinking at ten in the damn morning." Her friend seemed unaffected by such a statement. Even still, she offered a rebuttal.
"Mmm…technically it could be called ten in the almost afternoon?"
Shaking her head slowly at her friend, Kagome sighed. It had been this exact behavior that had caused her to be in her current predicament. Looking around the low lit office, she recalled how her bestfriend had convinced her that day drinking was a good idea.
Clearly, it had not been.
"Where did even you go? One moment you're there and then..poof! The last thing I remember is literally running around the park looking for you!"
And, unfortunately; that had been her last memory to stick. Everything else? Dark. Perhaps that had been the point that her brain had given up with trying to assist her with something so useful as memories? After all, she had never drank so much—or at all for that matter.
It had been a hell of a way to be introduced to alcohol.
The next thing that she could recall was waking up in her room with her head throbbing like never before in her life, and being severally dehydrated. Then had come the giggling from Rin at such a display. Afterwards, her friends had been far too eager to fill in the blanks of her lost memory.
"And you assaulted him—"
"Poked him." Rin corrected Kagura who was smirking in amusement at the recollection of such a memory.
"I didn't!" Kagome began, but rather quickly, after everyone's accounts on such an event, she realized, that she had.
To sum up, she had not only bulldozed someone over while running around looking for Sango, but apparently, also called him names…and poked him? All to end the event with them parting ways with smiles and if her friends words were correct, her smiling the entire drive back home.
"He was sooooooo handsome." Rin had let her know—several times.
According to them, the man had been tall, delicious, confident and very fit. Kagura had emphasized on the impressiveness of his abs, while Rin filled her in on his face. Apparently, they had interrogated her in the car about the mysterious stranger, but much like sober Kagome, the drunk version of her refused to share such information.
"His eyes, Kagome. Like yours!"
It was one thing to know you had run into a handsome stranger that seemed to be smitten with you. It was all together another to insult said stranger and then have the audacity to not remember such a thing. With a pounding headache, and much regret, She let out a frustrated whine.
"So, back to mystery handsome stranger whom you felt comfortable enough to sass back to—" Sango's voice brought her out of her thoughts.
Huffing, she redirected such intrigue back to her friend.
"Mine? What about yours? One moment you're on the app talking to your 'cute fuckboy'—your words. The next, your gone. Coincidence? Perhaps if I was stupid I would consider such a thing."
But she wasn't.
Stupid.
Just impulsive and unable to hold her alcohol.
For a split second, Her friend seemed to open her mouth to answer such a question, but then, thought better if it.
"Sango…" the warning on her tone at her friend was heard quickly, and with it, Sango huffed.
"Fine—fine. So maybe, maybe, I happened to stumble across Miroku…at the water park."
Kagome narrowed her eyes at her friend, and briefly debated if she should be mad. Or, if she could be mad. With a sigh of understanding , she nodded in acceptance of such information. Well, at least one of them got to remember such grand opportunities with the opposite sex.
"Hopefully it was worth it?"
But, based on the shit-eating grin that her friend wore, she knew that it most definitely was and that, even now, Sango had no regrets.
Good morning, Princess. How are you feeling? Head hurt? Did you drink water? If not, go ahead and get ahead of the massive headache you're going to be dealing with.
Even though she hadn't responded to his text immediately, it had still stumped her. Just how had he known about her head? Had she told him? Oh god, had she texted him while she was intoxicated?
With panic and a gap in last nights memories, Kagome pulled up the app with hopes of an answer. Instead of answers, she stared back at the app with even more questions.
Their conversation was blank. As if they had not chatted for hours on end.
But how?
Closing the app, and reopening it, she checked for a possible glitch or technical issue that would cause such a thing. Checking different browsers, and seeing if there was an unscheduled app update, her breathing picked up as nothing brought back their conversation.
Now, the only message in her history that remained was the recent one. Had she deleted their messages when she was drunk? If so, why? Trying to rattle her brain on what would cause her to do such a thing, she responded back in hopes that maybe he could provide additional answers.
A little. Sango swore this was going to be an enjoyable experience, but my head and body says differently.
To her good luck, she didn't have to wait long for a response.
In fact, it was almost automatic.
You didn't enjoy yourself? Pity. Here I thought you would have at least enjoyed putting your hands all over me. Damn, princess—not even a little bit? I suppose that means I will have to make sure our next meeting is with you sober.
And just like that, the phone fell to the ground.
No.
With wide eyes and her body shaking, Kagome Higurashi tried her best to will the memories to come back. But once again, there was nothing.
Instead, just darkness.
Just to make sure, she tried again and again.
With heart pounding, and disbelief, she picked up her phone and tried to steady her breath.
Surely he didn't mean.
But, how else was she to take such a message?
It was you?
Without caring the shortness of the text, she hit send. If it was him, he would understand. After all, if everything her friends had said was true then that would mean that she really had put her hands all over him. Trying to hold back disappointment in herself, she took a deep breath. How had she managed to mess up such a chance at introductions? They had met, and for the life of her, she didn't even know what he looked like—or remembered the interaction.
Now, she only had the words of her friends about the chance encounter.
Dammit.
Of course, Princess. Did you really think I would leave you alone at a water park with alcohol? As a wolf and a gentleman, I need to ensure you're safe.
And unable to control her emotions further, Kagome let her eyes mist over in frustration mixed with anger at not being able to recall such an important event. Of all the things she couldn't remember, why did it have to be this?
The first time in her life that she had actually become interested in someone, and what did she do? Get drunk for the first time in her life and pay an unfair price for it all.
He probably thought her an idiot. Or an alcoholic. Or, maybe, he was no longer interested? With the last thought, panic shot through her. He had to know? Right? That whatever she had done or however she had behaved that she hadn't meant it.
What if he didn't know though?
What if he thought this was how she was usually?
Suddenly, her chest felt heavy, and she wanted to convince him that she wasn't usually such a person.
Beautiful, I can feel you panicking all the way from here. Take a deep breath and calm down.
The text appeared on the screen of her phone, and with it, a wink.
With widen eyes, she read it. Over and over again. But, how had he know she was panicking? Or worried? Or how she would react to such a thing. How had he known she wouldn't remember?
Even still, another text arrived as if to ease her mind further.
Kagome, breath. It's okay. If you need to hear this from me a million times to ease your anxiety then I'm happy to help. You have no reason to panic or be scared. Well, other than me of course being a wolf.
But, I'm the good kind of scary. I promise.
And just like that, he had given her what she so desperately wanted. Normalcy. As if nothing had ever happened, he continued on with their conversation and attentiveness while ensuring that her fears and panic had been washed away.
Far too eagerly, she followed his lead.
The good kind of scary you say? Care to explain what that consists of?
Her fingers trembled as she typed up the question, wanting nothing more than for them to continue this. For nothing to change. For there to be no regret in meeting her, even if she wasn't at her best.
She wanted another chance to convince him that she was different.
But yet, he proceeded with their conversation as if she did not need to do such a thing.
For that reason alone, she silently thanked him for being so understanding.
Of course, Princess. I'm here for whatever you need from me. Anyway, you know, the usual; heart racing, knees weak, and desire to be caught.
She couldn't help but laugh. He was explaining to her all the symptoms he had already given her daily.
Noted.
With a smile, her confidence grew.
Desire to be caught?
But, even as the butterflies in her stomach arrived, she knew damn well what he was implying. But still, it couldn't hurt to ask.
With toes curling, Kagome Higurashi waited for his next text.
Mmm, of course, Princess. Eventually, you'll want me to catch you. I think we both know that. Don't we, beautiful?
Her eyes widened, and with it, realization dawned.
He was playing with her.
Letting her win? In all intents of the word, he really was being a wolf. Even now, enjoying the chase and all the while teasing her about it.
Another second passed, and a new text appear on her phone.
Rest assured, when your tired and ready to be caught then I'll be there. For now, enjoy the run and I will handle the chase. After all, it only gets better from here.
Her stomach flipped, and briefly, she felt the room spin.
Why were his words having this effect on her?
Why couldn't she think straight?
Why does it get better from her?
Was it because she was already smitten?
Or because he had met her?
Question after question appeared in her mind, and for the life of her, she wanted to ask him all of them.
A ding notified her that she could very well do that as she had his full attention and then some.
Because once a wolf has a scent…nothing can stop us. Know that I'm committed and here for the entire chase-and after.
With heart swelling, knees weak, and a tight chest, Kagome let out a breath that she didn't know she was holding.
How did he have such a way with words? Or making her feel wanted?
Desired?
With confidence that she didn't know she possessed, or rather, confidence that she had found ever since their conversations started, Kagome Higurashi typed out her response.
I'll hold you to that, Wolf Prince.
With a smile, she stared down at the message with proudness.
If she was to be a princess, then why couldn't she promote him to such a status as well?
It had taken three days.
Three days for panic to set in, and on the fourth day, the red haired she-wolf had come crawling back with hopeful eyes, and an all too false whimper.
"Please." she whined, with head hung low as realization had started taking place. After several days, it seemed the female finally noted the monumental mistake she had made. With raised brows and a pissed huff, Koga put his phone away to focus on the matters at hand.
Of course she would be here.
All but ignoring his irritated body language, the redhead once again began her pleas to the Alpha of her pack.
"Koga, they're going to rape—"
He didn't need her to finish the sentence. Instead, he glared at the woman that was now wasting his time. How dumb did she think he was? How naïve did she think an alpha could be?
"It's not rape if you consented, Ayame."
With it, he made sure to bite out each word.
Fuck if he hadn't expected this. After all, the woman had been nothing but trouble since she arrived in his pack. Always taking and demanding what she wanted on impulse, and later, playing the victim. This was no different. Even at the park, he had later realized what she was doing. Trying to give him an ultimatum. She had expected that, like every other wolf, he would fall for her tricks.
No, enough was enough.
Still, she tried again.
"They will—"
Once more, he interrupted her. Yes, he knew exactly would occur. The last event consisting of such a thing had occurred three hundred years ago, and with it, all tribes were required to watch such a union.
"I am well aware of the process. You forget that as Alphas, we used to attend to such matters. So yes, they will fuck you. Again, and again and again. Then, they will spill their seed inside of you because that is what you offered them." He growled out.
Even now, his claws were extending in anger. Before all of this, he had offered her the choosing of anyone other than himself from the pack. Instead, not liking her options, she had decided to play a far more dangerous game.
And now, she had lost.
"And it won't stop. Not for days. Not until each of them has exhausted themselves and felt that they will be victor with your womb." With it, he watched the demoness tighten her mouth that was forming into a snarl at his words. He scoffed as the realization in her eyes began to set in.
"What if I refus—" she asked quietly, her tone cold. She damn well knew that such a thing could no longer be done but apparently; the bitch didn't care that she was wasting his time.
"Go ahead, Ayame. Change your mind. Send our fucking pack to war all over your fucking pettiness and inability to take no as an answer." He took a breath, and then let out a bitter laugh.
If anyone would be so stupid, it would be her. Still, he needed her to understand that there was no longer any out for her. Had she really thought he would save her? At the expensive of his happiness? At the expense of the woman he now courted? With disbelief in his eyes, he shook his head.
She really had.
Sure enough he imagined that in the back of her mind she had more than likely expected that if she whined or appeared to be scared then he would forsake his courting process, and instead, mark her as his mate. It would have been the only way to avoid and clean up the mess she had started. Except, she wasn't in danger. No, none of the alphas would really harm her. Not after she became fertile and gave them a way to continue on the expansion of the pack. But, that didn't mean they would be gentle either.
But, when had wolves ever been known for such a thing?
Even now, he smelt the fucking smugness on her. The surety of her actions. Even now, with her false pretenses, the she-wolf thought she had him trapped.
For once; he would take his kid gloves off.
For once, he would be a harsh Alpha.
After all, she was the only one that didn't listen to him—ever.
"Don't you fucking understand? You told them that they could have you. So now, be a good little girl and do what you promised every Alpha in the room you would—throw your ass up in the air and let them take their turns fucking you."
He took a deep breath, and gave her a stare of indifference.
"Maybe you'll get lucky and the seed of an alpha will stick quickly. Or may not. Maybe your actions have finally caught up with you. Maybe, just maybe, they will have to fuck you for an entire week until your womb accepts a seed."
He knew it was harsh, but apparently, the she-wolf had not understood the consequences of her actions. Although, that was not so strange as no one refused to reprimand the brat. Instead, everyone had always given in to her.
Everyone but him.
Something that need to be remedied rather quickly, before any more stupid and impulsive decisions were made.
"Koga, I didn'—" she began with wide eyes, and fear entering her voice. Fear that made him laugh in disbelief. He knew what was coming. He knew the lies. The woman before him had played these tricks on every low ranking wolf.
Batting her eyes.
Pretending to be afraid.
Hell, at one point, years ago, she had nearly fooled even Ginta in betraying his commands. It had been at that point in time that he knew she could never be trusted. With the knowledge of all her past antics and aware of her ability to deceive those around her, Koga once more began to remind her of what it was that she had offered at the meeting.
After all, wolves were not able to take back consent given.
"Ayame, you offered your body and cunt to every Alpha in that room. Why? Probably to make me jealous. Fuck if I know. Maybe, you thought I would save you. But I'd warned you, time and time again." Unable to restrain himself, the wolf prince snarled out an answer with a coldness that had never once entered his voice.
"I never wanted you."
When her bottom lip began to tremble at such a reminder, he let out even a louder growl.
"What happened, Ayame? Where did your magical courage go? You had no issues challenging my word at the meeting, so you should have no trouble surviving this. After all, you under minded me and spoke for yourself. So go ahead, be the big girl that you want to be. Pray that the right alpha impregnates you."
With those words, he made his way to the door. Hesitating, he coldly turned to the she-wolf.
"Remember, you chose this method. You could have courted a wolf, but instead, you wanted to play games. So do it—play the fucking game." With that, he slammed the door and stormed out.
Good riddance.
The bitch was more trouble than she was worth.
For once in her life, Kagome Higurashi wanted to scream in defeat. Apparently, after her trip to the water park, everything had gone to hell and back. First, it had been an announcement that her work week would consist of meetings with higher ups. In the beginning, she hadn't thought much of it. Then, she had been told, just how packed it would.
Her Monday would be an introduction and shadow with an engineer. Her Tuesday with the head IT department, and Wednesday, the cofounder. Then, after all of that, she would spend her Thursday and Friday overseeing department meetings and chatting with the founder as the leader representative for both her and Sangos team.
All of this had been announced on late Sunday—in a missed email no less. Now; it was Monday, and if this was any indication on how the rest of the week would go then she would go insane. Hiten, her supervisor was looking over her tickets and if he made one more comment about her teams management then she could, very well, punch him.
"Don't be so soft on your team."
"Make sure they know this was done incorrectly."
"Do you let them push you around?"
All of his comments had been condescending. Never to her. But her team? Shit, he made it sound like she was in charge of children.
"They're adults, sir. I do what I can." She had told him. To that, the man with his elegantly braid hair and dress shirt with slacks had laughed and corrected her.
"Call me Hiten, Kagome—we're coworkers."
And so, she had.
But then he had finished her teams assessment, and with a smirk, told her it was her turn. So, there they had sat, across from each other, going over policy and procedures regarding escalations. Question after question, he tested her. Time and again again, she answered correctly.
"Impressive." He hummed in obvious surprise.
She wanted to roll her eyes. Why had his expectations of her been so low?
"Can you show me your tickets?" He inquired, while pulling up some documentation on his computer.
Nodding, Kagome did just that.
She had planned to move her computer to his view, but instead, the man sat up and moved to hover over her. For an entire two hours, he breathed on her neck quietly while telling her what ticket to pull up and review. Finally, as she neared the completion of her tickets, she turned to the man and gave him a confident smile.
"Look, I know what I'm doing Hiten. I promise."
God, at this point, she would say anything to get him to stop hovering.
"Oh? Confident are we?" His deep husky voice murmured in her ear all the sudden, and for a moment, her thoughts stopped dead in her tracks. Whether it was from the heat of his words, or his proximity, she wasn't all too sure. But in that moment, the man before her really didn't seem to care that she appeared both alarmed and uncomfortable.
"Looks good. Thanks for letting me look over your work and…hovering." He said the last words playfully, but the hunger in his eyes didn't disappear.
"Yeah…sure." She managed to get out, as she tried to figure out what the hell was going on.
"Need anything else? You know, us engineers are only a call away or text away."
Even now, she felt uneasy. Her body slowly shook, and her heart wouldn't stop pounding. Were all engineers in his department so…forward?
Squeezing her thighs together as his hot breath hit her ear, she scolded her body for such reactions. Then, as if to make matters worse, she had been far too focused on just how close he was that she didn't comprehend his last words, and as nervousness took over, she nodded her head without thinking.
Only when he rose his brows and gave a leering grin did she realize her mistake.
"Oh?* What else can I do for you?" He asked intrigued, and with such a question, he sat himself right next to her on the couch.
Fuck her life.
As if him breathing down her throat and ear wasn't bad enough, now, he sat on the couch with their thighs touching.
'Focus, Kagome. Focus'
But even with such thoughts, her body shook and her heart continued to race. Trying to correct her mistake all the while running through questions from her teammates for the engineers, she let out a nervous 'oh' as a question surfaced.
'Nothings wrong, Kagome. Just do your job.' She repeated the mantra in her head. Yet, it did nothing to ease her anxiety.
"Yes?" With the purr of response, Kagome Higurashi tried to focus.
Really, she did.
"Uhh, Miyu was wondering if you had a master task already assigned for the…" she rattled off while closing her eyes in concentration.
They were on the couch.
Together.
And if she wasn't mistaken, he somehow kept finding a way to hover closer and closer to her and her laptop. Suddenly, his hands brushed against her thighs, and with in, he moved her laptop towards him a bit.
"Master task for the 'report a problem' issue?" He finished the question with curiosity in his voice. Nodding, this time correctly, she thanked the gods for the return of his normal tone.
Yet, it didn't last long.
"Yeah—right here." And with it, he put his hand over hers, and began directing the mouse towards the master task.
Was he like this with everyone? Even if he was, why was her body reacting like this?
"Uhhh..than—" She began, but stopped when she realized that her supervisor was no longer looking at her. Instead, his narrowed eyes focused on her work phone. On the notification screen was a notification from their app.
'You've got a message from your match!'
Relief shot through her, and briefly, she wondered on the message was about, or if Koga had known that she needed rescuing. For a brief moment, Hiten and her had a stare off at her phone.
When he didn't budge, she made her decision and attempted to grab her phone that was on the table. Not thinking of her actions, she leaned against her supervisor while trying to stretch towards the phone. Almost immediately, the engineer grabbed it instead and moved the phone away from her reach. With such abrupt and unexpected actions, she lost her balance. With the loss of such a thing, she landed sprawled on his lap.
As if the world didn't hate her enough.
Fuck.
To her shock and disbelief, Hiten's free moved right on top of her ass as if he had no fear for the repercussions and with it, he moved his mouth right near her ear.
"Oh look at that, the universe placed you *right* where you needed to be." This time, his tone held something else.
Irritation.
"You matched with someone?" With widened eyes, and her body frozen, Kagome tried to find her voice. Yet, the possessiveness in such a question from her supervisor left her all but paralyzed.
"Uhh, we were told to—" she began, but instead of hearing her out, the well built engineer seemed to snarl.
"You* weren't supposed to." His words were whispered in her ear, and then, he bit her lobe.
Hard.*
Letting out a yelp of pain, and regaining her common sense, Kagome threw her hands on the couch and tried to squirm away from his body.
"Hiten, st—"
But before she could finish, and almost as if he expected her movements, he flipped his body around—and with it, she realized her mistake.
Now, she lay on the couch *underneath* him.
"Seems like the universe doesn't want you to win this game, little fox." Came his dark chuckle and with it, his advancement as he all but towered over her further.
Little fox? Where the hell was he getting these nicknames from? More importantly, what the hell was going on?!
Yet, Hiten didn't allow her time for any of them. Because within seconds and faster than her eyes could follow, he was on top of her. With one knee between her thighs, an arm grabbing both of hers and the other around her neck, Kagome quickly began to realize that at this moment in time, she was screwed.
"Hiten, dont—"
But this time, he nearly smirked.
"Why don't you try to stop me? Come, I so desperately wish to see such a thing. You, trying to fight what you were made for. " He cooed in her ear.
When she didn't answer, he hummed in approval.
"Good girl, such a quick learner. Although, you would be—wouldn't you. After all, this is what you were created for." As he readjusted himself on top of her body, he let his knee advance closer and closer to its destination.
Twisting her hips, she tried to move him off her. When he laughed at her feeble attempt to escape, she noted the amusement written all over his face.
He was enjoying this?
"Now, I'm going to explain this very simply to you. You have already been chosen. Understand?" As he drew away from her ear, he shook his head in what appeared to be disbelief while staring at the phone.
"God, he's going to lose his shit when he finds out you've matched. Fucking unbelievable. How sly of you."
Even though he had mumbled such a thought, Kagome heard him anyway.
Lose his shit?
Who?
As if realizing that she was still there, he returned his gaze to her. Without further explanation, and only a frustrated huff, Hiten removed his hold of her hands and throat, and reluctantly, he got off the couch.
Dusting himself off, his eyes bore into hers with warning.
"I suppose I don't need to tell you to not speak a word? Or, maybe you really are that stupid."
Knowing damn well the danger she was in, she shook her head vigorously to let him know that she would never speak of this. With a smile, Hiten nodded in approval, as if knowing she spoke the truth.
"Such a good little fox. You really are our best work yet."
Their best work?
As an employee?
Shaking away such thought, Kagome kept her eyes glued on the man. After all, the last thing she needed was to have his hands on her throat again…or somewhere else. Trying to calm her breathing and ignore his confusing words, she tried to will the man to leave. For a moment, he began making steps to the door and she thought she had been successful.
But then, he paused and turned around with a sinister smile. Locking his eyes with her, he licked his lips as if taunting her.
Then, he spoke again.
I suppose, I should reward you for such delightful behavior. Well; why not? You know that incredible scent of vanilla every night? I'll give you a hint—it's definitely not there by mistake."
And with those words, he left the office without a second glance. For the first time in her life, Kagome Higurashi had absolutely no idea what the hell had just happened-or the meaning of his words.
Any of them.
"You left her unsupervised and then disappeared!"
"Rin, she's not a dog."
"She harassed a man at the park and assaulted him!"
This time, a new voice interrupted the two woman that were snapping back at each other. "Okay, to be fair—she poked him. Plus, he told us it was fine."
Sango let out a Yelp of victory and pointed at her savior, Shiori.
"See! It was fine."
The woman Rin let out a huff of irritating at knowing she was obviously not not going to win this battle.
"Fine. Fine. But Sango, she was really drunk. You two started when you got there, and her and Kagura didn't stop."
Nodding, Sango accepted the scold.
"I know. It won't happen again. I just got distracted and saw someone I knew. It won't happen again."
Rin nodded.
"Just…be careful. Rita and Naru never came back." The tone in Rins voice was one the entire group knew all too well.
"You're over-reacting, Rin. They probably just quit." But, they knew such logic did nothing to ease them. After all, who quit a job and left all their belongings in their apartment?
"I know, Rin. We will all keep a better eye on her." Sango promised with a determined nod.
