AN: Hello everyone! It has been a long time... sorry for the long delay. That's about all I can say on the matter. Enjoy the next chapter!
I still don't own Star Wars.
Chapter Six
Lightning cracks across the dark sky of the Imperial Center. The Emperor stands alone, looking out the large window of his office. Interesting to think that five years ago, things were moving exactly as he had foreseen.
Five years ago, in the very spot he stands, Master Windu had stood there deflecting force lightning back at him before the final push of Anakin Skywalker to the darkside. The memory almost brings a sadistic smile to his face. Almost. He doesn't quite know what happened following Vader's cleansing of the Jedi Temple, but he no longer has his powerful and ideal apprentice. He believes Kenobi has something to do with it. Kenobi along with Yoda was spotted at the temple following the purge before he too vanished.
Then there's Amidala. A growl tears through his cracked lips at the thought of her. Long was she a thorn in his side during the Clone Wars. He watched her funeral on the Holonet, but isn't entirely convinced she's truly dead. After being thrown away from her life force by two light beings, he isn't sure his meddling finished the job. Still. Her death may still explain the absence of Vader. His grief would be strong, and it would make his use of the darkside even stronger. Pity the bond between them snapped, so he no longer has the connection to feel Vader's powerful emotions.
He has eyes all over the galaxy looking for him. Him and Kenobi. He knows neither is dead, but it's been five years, and they've been gone without a trace. His thoughts pause feeling the presence of his new apprentice. Darth Kelmi.
He doesn't turn as she enters through the doors. He sees her bowed form reflected in the glass. "Rise my apprentice." He turns as she rises, keeping her head bent low. "How was your mission to Kashyyk?"
"Successful Master. The Jedi Master Kento Marek is no more. Kashyyk is now under Imperial control, and more Wookies are being captured each day." She pauses. "I did find an interesting piece of information." She states raising her head, but her eyes remain downcast. The Emperor looks to Kelmi, interest piqued. "It would appear Kento had a son. One very powerful in the force. His potential was too great to waste on simply terminating him. With your permission, I would like to enroll him in the Inquisitor Program."
A child that young can either bring destruction or be beneficial when being trained in the dark side of the force. "Yes. he might become a great asset. But even with your resourcefulness, you did disobey my order: To kill all jedi and associates." Palpatine responds, blasting lightning towards Kelmi. He shoots three short bursts before dismissing her.
Kelmi has uses, but no one will compare to the power and potential of Vader. Still though, it has been five years, and his hope in finding him grows thinner with each passing day. How does a rogue Sith Apprentice and a traitorous Jedi Master just disappear?
"NOO!" Anakin yells, moving to intercept Master Windu's blade, but instead catching the inside of his wrist, successfully detaching the hand from the arm.
"No!" Anakin sits up, sweating and panting from the recurring dream. He looks to Padmé, still fast asleep and blissfully unaware of his nightmare. She's definitely had the time to grow accustomed to them over eight years of marriage. They've had some major adjustments over the past five years, which has come with all new challenges for them both between the twins and him being home full-time.
Still panting, Anakin slips from the bed, careful to avoid waking his slumbering wife. He walks into the common area of their small and humble home, where he kneels on the floor, hoping to meditate. He wishes Obi-Wan were here with him, to help guide him through his meditation, though he knows Obi-Wan would be here if he called. They've grown closer over the last five years after finally working through their issues, and working through the anger Anakin carried with him throughout the Clone Wars.
Closing his eyes, he begins to focus his breathing and stretches out with the force. He reaches out to his children, who he senses are sleeping peacefully. Sometimes, when his nightmares become relentless and his distress of them leaks into the force, the twins will sometimes wake with him. During those times, Obi-wan has to help him shield his emotions from them to prevent them from feeding off his anxiety and fear.
He forces his mind to shift away from his anxiety now, and instead embraces the calmness of their presence to finally find his center. His dreams of that fateful day often, wishing he could do things differently, and it often varies. Sometimes, like tonight, he relives the events, other times he is a witness like a ghostly bystander, screaming at himself to stay his blade and make a different choice. It's not always the same event either. He dreams of his march on the Jedi Temple, and the killing of the Sepratist leaders on Mustafar. No matter how hard he tries he cannot let go of his guilt and hate of himself for ever listening to Palpatine.
He moves his thoughts away from his dark deeds, and instead thinks of his family. Obi-Wan and he have started to train Luke and Leia. They've started with shielding, and it's a daily struggle to keep them focused, but they are progressing well for their age.
Anakin was hesitant to begin their training so early, but the sooner they're able to shield, the better. Anakin, Obi-Wan and Padmé all agreed they will try to keep them from the Rebellion as long as they can. The two former Jedi are already getting requests from Bail to help. Obi-wan has gone on a handful of reconnaissance missions already, but Anakin wasn't ready to leave his family just yet, he's been wanting to wait until the twins are older. He knows that when he does leave again, it will become a regular occurrence. Though he doesn't want to leave his wife and children, he would be lying to say he didn't miss the fast lifestyle. The missions, battles and new adventures around every corner. Even if he doesn't go back willingly, he'll be dragged into it soon enough.
He can sense Padmé awakening and her mild confusion at the empty bed. He knew she wouldn't stay asleep for long. She always seems to sense when something's wrong, no matter how careful he is, or how hard he tries to hide it. She can usually pinpoint what it is by just a look.
"Ani." she whispers, placed a hand on his shoulder. He opens his eyes. Pulling himself from his attempt to meditate. He breathes in deeply, allowing her presence to soothe his tormented mind. "Ani," she says again, this time coming around to kneel in front of him. She reaches out a hand, and brushes a tear from his cheek. He didn't even notice he had shed it.
"What time is it?" He asks, taking her hand from his cheek to hold it in his hand. She frowns at him, looking down at their conjoined hands. His golden fingers shine in the dimmed light where they reach around her own.
"Not yet dawn." She responds, looking back up into his face. "What's bothering you?"
He gives her a sad smile, resisting the urge to tell her 'Nothing' like he used to, but they promised after the twins were born, they'd make a greater effort to be honest with each other. "It was a dream. Again."
"And?" She presses.
"And, it was about that day. I keep reliving it." He pauses. "I don't want to keep dreaming about it."
Padmé squeezes his hand. "I know. Anakin, you have to let go of your guilt."
He lets out a tired sigh. "Easier said than done."
"I know." She lets go of his hand and stands. "C'mon. Since we're both awake, why not start getting ready for the twins' party?" Anakin stands as well., a genuine smile gracing his tanned face.
"I can't believe they're already five!" He says following Padmé into the kitchen. He takes a seat at the table as Padmé begins pulling things out of the pain cabinets. "Makes me feel old."
Padmé's movements cease. "You!? Imagine how me and Obi-Wan feel! You're still a youngster, and the only one of us still under 30."
Anakin holds up his hands. "Alright. I won't complain about feeling old, but it won't stop me from teasing Obi-Wan further."
Padmé rolls her eyes at him before returning to her previous task. Anakin watches her for a moment as she floats around the getichen, gathering supplies for breakfast, and for the twins' cake.
"Obi-Wan and I finished the practice sabers. I think they're ready to start the basics for form I, and to start working on katas."
Padmé's movements cease again. "Already?"
Anakin nods. "This is the age they start."
"I understand that, but they're not being raised in the temple. I don't want them learning to fight already."
"They're not learning to fight. Rather, how to defend themselves. I have all intentions to keep them from the Rebellion and the Empire as long as I can. But, speaking from experience, the forms are easier to master when you start young to get a better base. I promise, for now, it's just to learn the basics of Form I and to go through katas."
Padmé still doesn't look all that convinced, nor does she look comfortable with the idea of her babies learning to fight, but she trusts Anakin and Obi-Wan's guidance when it comes to their training. Anakin gets up from his spot and pulls her into a hug. He doesn't admit to her that he's rather excited to start training them further.
She pulls away from him first, and goes back to cooking. Anakin moves to start helping, and they work together in a comfortable silence. As he stirs the batter for the cake, she begins making the icing. "I've never been happier to get a care package from Bail. It's nice to actually bake something."
Anakin smiles and continues to stir. "Me either. It's a nice change." he pauses and looks at Padmé. Smile faltering.
"What is it?" Concern emerging in not only her tone but shown on her face as well.
"How opposed would you be if I went with Obi-Wan to the next meeting with Bail? I think I'm ready to start again, now that the twins are older."
Padmé takes a moment to respond. Anakin can sense her unease, but he has a feeling it's not entirely about his question. "I'm happy that you feel ready to go back into that life again." She starts gently, "but I'm not sure." She bites her lip, still mixing the icing, attention not focused on him or the bowl in her hands. She's hesitating.
"What is it?"
"What?" She asks back. Nearly dropping the bowl. He reaches out and grabs the cream colored bowl from her, and places it on the counter.
"Don't answer my question with a question. Be honest with me. Why are you not sure? What's bothering you?"
She drops her gaze from his to look at her hands and the simple silver band that adorns her finger. "Nothing's wrong. I just have been thinking, that maybe… I want another baby." She pauses. "And I've been thinking about it for awhile."
Anakin doesn't speak. He just continues to stare at her flushing cheeks. He reaches out, putting a finger beneath her chin to lift her gaze. "You really want another?"
"I do, and that's why I don't know about you starting for the Rebellion just yet. I also worry that once you go back to that kind of lifestyle, you'll not want to come back. I know how much you've missed it."
"I do miss the active lifestyle, but I'd miss you and the kids more. As for another? I don't know. I almost lost you the last time, and I-"
"I know! But things would be different. We're not hiding our relationship, Palpatine isn't manipulating you anymore. Things would be different. I'm under much less stress not being in the Senate."
"But you wouldn't have real medical equipment or staff out here. You get a midwife who isn't even properly trained, and we couldn't get you off planet that many times for check-ups without raising suspicions."
"I didn't have regular check-ups the first time either! I was too busy hiding the fact I was pregnant to risk it! I didn't have any complications during my first pregnancy and the complications at birth weren't even due to pregnancy!"
"You still went into labor early." he counters.
"Because you had just turned to the darkside!" Anakin blinks at her. She sighs, pinching her nose. "Ani, I'm sorry."
"Don't." he whispers. "You're right."
"Daddy?" a small voice breaks the adults apart. Padmé and Anakin look to where Luke stands, blue blanket smooshed against his cheek as he rubs his eye.
"Yeah Lukey?"
"Yous and Mama being loud." We were?
"I'm sorry." he says kneeling down in front of his son. "Did we wake you?"
A small blond head dips in confirmation. "Are you and Mama fighting? Like you don with Uncle Obi and Uncle Owen sometimes?"
"No, your Mama and I are just talking. We didn't realize we were being so loud."
"Talkin 'bout what?"
"Grown-up stuff." Anakin says poking Luke in the stomach causing the boy to giggle. "C'mon." He says picking him up. "I'll put you back to bed. It's early yet."
"But Daddy, I'm not tired!" But even as he says so, a large yawn disrupts his sentence, causing Anakin to laugh and Padmé to smile.
"I'd beg to differ." Anakin says, leaving the kitchen with Luke's head against his shoulder, eyes already drooping. Padmé remains in her spot, and she rubs a hand over her face before returning to the forgotten cake batter and icing. That conversation could've gone better.
"You're really thinking about getting involved and leaving your wife and kids?" Owen asks. He, Anakin and Obi-Wan are sitting around the kitchen table, sipping on some desert whiskey, while Beru, Padmé and Cliegg watch the twins along with their cousins play in the common area.
"There's nothing wrong with wanting to help is there?" Obi-wan asks in return.
Anakin runs a hand through his short hair, which has grown lighter in his time back on Tatooine. He had cut the length down shortly after the twins' birth. It now resembles the length he had when he was first Knighted and was beginning to curl around his ears. "I don't want to leave them, but I can't ignore the duty I have to the galaxy."
"But what about your duty to your family?"
Anakin sighs. "You act like I'm abandoning them completely. I just want the exposure and to get reacquainted with the field-work and command duties again. I won't be out and gone that often. I still have the twins to train."
"I don't think it's a good idea. You have a tendency to bring throughout around you, and then in turn, to those around you." Anakin nods, looking between Owen and Obi-Wan. Both men have changed little over the past five years. Both their hair is lighter, with more grey finding its way through Obi-Wan's. More wrinkles mar their faces under tanner complexions earned from long and hard days under the harsh rays of the twin suns.
"I understand that too. I just feel like it's time to start moving out of the shadows. Obi-Wan has already started doing reconnaissance to gain support. I want to start doing my part."
"Obi-Wan isn't married, nor does he have children to worry about." Obi-Wan nods to Owen's point, and begins stroking his beard.
Anakin sighs through his nose, and leans to rest his chin in his hand. He watches Owen throw the remainder of his drink back before standing.
"You asked for my opinion, and I gave it. What you do with it, is yours to decide. Know that I'll gladly watch over Padmé and the twins, but keep in mind I have my own brood to take care of." The two former Jedi watch him walk out towards the common area to the rest of their party.
Anakin continues to stare at the empty hall, long after Owen's shadow disappears from the walls. "What do you think?" Obi-Wan asks, breaking the silence, making Anakin look over.
"I don't know. Padmé isn't sure. I can't go without her approval. She has to know she has a choice this time."
"Does she?"
"Yes."
"I only ask because she may only approve, so she doesn't disappoint you. So, I ask you. What do you want to do?'
"I want to go back." He answers immediately. "Does that make me a bad husband and father? Willingly wanting to leave them?'
"You said so yourself, you're not really leaving them. Plus, you'll never be gone longer than a month, ulike the war; and you get to choose what missions you want. You'll never be ordered to go anywhere."
Anakin nods. "She wants another." Obi-Wan's brow raises in confusion. "Another baby. So, that complicates things as well."
"That it does. Do you want more?"
"Sure. I'd love to have more with her. It's just…"
"You're scared?" Anakin nods. "Understandable. But, most of the concerning factors from last time are not around. Padmé's still young and very healthy. I'm sure she'll be fine."
Anakin smiles. "She basically said the same thing earlier."
Obi-Wan laughs. "This is why we make the plans more than you. We think more clearly about things." Anakin rolls his eyes, laughing as well. The humor dies quickly when Obi-Wan's long distance communicator begins to beep. That never bodes well, and typically means something bad is happening that requires Obi-Wan's expertise. Obi-Wan takes the divide from his belt and places the device on the table between them before hitting the button to accept the transmission.
Bail Organa's holographic form appears. "Greetings Master Kenobi. An urgent matter has reached me, and the council is recommending for you and Skywalker to both report. Is he near you by chance."
"I'm here."
Bail turns to see Anakin across from Kenobi. "Ah, yes. Anakin, good to see you. Padmé and the twins faring well?"
"Yes, thank you for asking. What's the situation?" Obi-Wan moves from his seat to stand behind Anakin's chair.
"Right, the situation. We have been receiving reports of a spotted Jedi." Anakin and Obi-Wan share a look. "On the mid-rim planet Bracca."
"Bracca?" Anakin looks back at Obi-Wan. "Didn't we have a base there?"
"I don't think it was a base, rather an outpost due its location."
"Wouldn't the Empire have seized it?"
"No, they didn't." Bail interrupts. "That planet is controlled by the Scrappers Guild. They scrap ships and sell parts back to the Empire. Any easy hiding place for this Jedi."
"Until now. What happened to them?"
"They were rescued by an unknown vessel."
"What do you want us to do then? We can't go to Bracca, that place will be crawling with Imps conducting their own investigations."
"I wasn't finished. That spotting was from several days ago. New reports show he appeared again. On Kashyyk, aiding an old acquaintance of yours. Saw Gerrera of Onderon." Anakin and Obi-Wan share another look. Plan already beginning to formulate. Finding another Jedi could be critical. "We ask you to travel to Kashyyk. See if there are any leads there."
"We'll prepare to leave immediately." Obi-Wan states quickly.
"Thank you, Master Kenobi. Master Skywalker. May the force be with you." Bail disconnects aftwards, leaving a dumbstruck Anakin, and an ever calm Obi-Wan.
After a moment, Anakin jumps up and faces his long-time friend. "I can't go with you!"
"Sure you can."
"I have responsibilities here. I can't just leave!" He sees Obi-Wan look over his shoulder causing him to look as well. Padmé stands, Luke on her hip, an unreadable expression on her face. Oh no. How much did she hear?
Obi-Wan gets up and walks to her, grabbing Luke from her as he approaches. He quietly speaks to the young boy, allowing the spouses to discuss things privately.
Anakin turns back around, elbows on the table and places his head in his hands. He waits for the reprimand, how he can't leave his responsibilities, and how their discussion from this morning is still unresolved. Instead of a reprimand, Padmé softly approaches to place a comforting hand on his back while the other runs through his short hair.
"You should go." Wait. What? Anakin's hands drop and he peers at her over his shoulder. The surprise must be visible on his face because Padmé only gives him a sad smile. Her hands drop from his back with a quiet sigh as she takes the seat next to him. "They're asking for you, by name, to go."
"But, Padmé-"
She silences him by placing her palm on his arm that rests on the table. "You should go. You and Obi-Wan are the best, and they need the best to go after the Jedi."
"But, what about you and the kids? I can't just leave them."
"Yes, you can. We'll be fine. Owen and Beru will help as much as they can. Plus, I've spent plenty of time waiting for your return. We'll be fine."
Anakin stares into her eyes. "You're sure? Because Padmé. Once I start this again, they'll expect me out again."
She gives him that sad smile again. "I know." She squeezes his arm. "But I can't keep you here forever."
"You said this morning-"
"I know what I said. I spoke with Obi-Wan while you were putting the twins down for their naps. While I don't want to let go of you, I have to for the greater good of the galaxy. Right now, that needs your attention more." She pauses. "I knew that when I married you. I knew I would have to share you with the galaxy, even if I don't want to."
Anakin reaches out, pulling her into an embrace. "Thank you." He whispers. "For being so understanding." She just holds him tighter.
She deflects the shots of her men. Men she's commanded. Trusted. Bled with. Cried with. She fights within the small medbay that can easily become her tomb. "GG. The door!" The door starts moving, her limbs tiring when three shots come from behind her head. Rex. "Rex?" She takes a breath. "Rex, are you okay?"
Rex turns at the sound of his name; mumbled by his sleeping commander. They've been searching for defective clones for five years, and found Wofle; who broke down at the sight of Ahsoka and feeling ever so grateful there was at least one Jedi survivor. He remembers the stoic look of Ahsoka when Wolfe delivered the news of Master Plo Koon's death, shot down by his own Wolf-Pack. Unfortunately, he could provide no information of Commander Cody and General Kenobi, except Cody being an instructor for the Empire. Kenobi's whereabouts remain unknown, but presumably dead. No word on Skywalker either. He too is presumed dead. Other rumors suggest he was killed during the tempe siege, but nothing for certain.
Rex thinks about Cody and their generals often. Most memories bring a smile to his face. Skywalker and his overly reckless natre. Kenobi, always following closely behind Skywalker, and always there to clean up the mess he often would leave behind. And Cody. They were always going on missions together., and grew very close towards the end. He can't help but feel disappointed in Cody, knowing he turned his back on his Jedi. But then again. He almost killed his too. If his Jedi wasn't so quick on her feet… he doesn't like to think what would've happened to him.
He watches Ahsoka sleep. Forehead creasing He knows she dreams about that day often. He does too. He sometimes can't believe it's been five years. Five years they've spent in the outer rim, bouncing from planet to planet. Gathering information as they go, and helping as many people as they can.
Recently, however, they've been working for the Rebellion. Framed by members of the Imperial Senate, and who still hold loyalty to the fallen Republic. They mostly do reconnaissance work giving intel to them under the code-name "Fulcrum." They've even asked them if they've heard from other Jedi, especially Kenobi and Skywalker, but they've heard nothing. It's like they disappeared and became ghosts.
"NO!" Ahsoka yells, sitting up and suddenly awake. Rex watches as she looks around, re-familiarizing herself with her surroundings. Finally, her gaze settles on him. "Rex?"
He holds out a canteen of water as shuffles closer to him. "Yeah kid?"
"How has it been five years? I feel like we have nothing to show for it. We've only found Wolfe. Sure, we've come across Clone Force 99, but they have their own problems, and are aware Cody betrayed Obi-Wan, but his death was never confirmed." She pauses to take a sip from the canteen. "Reports also state Anakin died during the assault on the Jedi Temple, but his death was never really confirmed either." She pauses again. "I keep dreaming about that day. Something's just isn't adding up. I keep seeing Anakin and the Chancellor. There's flashes of light, screaming and the sound of a lightsaber. I just wish to know what happened, because the clones turned right after."
"I wish I could say. I only know what happened to us. It is strange that you keep dreaming about it. Do you think it could be the Force trying to tell you something?"
Ahsoka shrugs. "I have no idea."
They sit in silence for several minutes before Rex finally gets up and stretches. "Let's go get Wolfe, and start moving. It's almost dawn."
Ahsoka nods, replacing the cap over the canteen and handing it back to Rex. She stands up herself and nudges Wolfe, who wakes immediately. The three companions gather their supplies quickly and begin to move from their camp to their transport.
Once inside, they put in the frequency for their contact within the Rebellion. "Well, this place was a bust and due to the terrain, it's not ideal for a base."
"Thank you Fulcrum."
"There are some resources here though. Medical mostly if you want to send a team."
"Affirmative. What is your next course?"
Ahsoka peers at the nav computer, and a system catches her eye. "Abafar." she whispers, the Force nudging her.
"Please repeat the last transmission."
"Abafar." She states louder. "It's fairly remote, and I don't know why, but the Force is nudging me there."
There's a pause. "Abafar? We don't have much intel on the planet except they mine Rhydonium. But Fulcrum, be wary when entering the system. It's mostly controlled by the Hutts now."
The Hutts. A bunch of vile gangsters. Ahsoka can't help the feeling of disgust that courses through her. "They shouldn't be a problem, so long as we don't draw too much attention to ourselves or disrupt their mining business."
"While that may be true, I urge you to be cautious while on planet."
"We will."
"Then we await your next contact. May the Force be with you."
"May the Force be with you. Fulcrum out."
"Daddy! Wait! I have something to give you!" Leia yells, running past her mother. Anakin drops to a knee as she reaches him.
"What is it, Princess?"
She uncurls her fingers around a small beaded band." I made this for you. So you won't be alone. Mommy helped me."
Anakin takes the light pink bracelet from her and sees 'Daddy' spelled in the beads. He puts it over his flank hands, careful not to stretch it too far. "I love it. Thank you." He pulls her into him, holding her close. He can hear her trying to hold back sobs while trying to keep her shields in place. "Oh my Leia." He whispers. "I won't be gone long."
"Promise?"
He nods. "I promise." he looks up from his daughter and sees Luke, fidgeting next to Padmé. He can tell he wants to run to him. Anakin opens his arm, and Luke takes off, barreling into Anakin's side next to his twin.
Luke's tears are falling as soon as he reaches his father. "Daddy don't go!" He wails, burying his head into Anakin's shoulder.
Anakin's eyes begin to sting as he hugs his children tighter. "I don't want to leave you either." He says gently, trying to pull away to look at them. They only grip him tighter, wrapping around him as far as their arms can reach.
Padmé walks over to them, and gently starts prying the twins off their father. "C'mon you guys. Daddy has to go." She whispers, quietly shushing them as she pulls.
"No!" They yell together, fighting against her.
"Hey." Anakin prods. "I'll be back before you know it." He presses a kiss to their foreheads. "I'll be home soon, and I'll comm when I can, okay?" The twins sniffle and nod, "and you'll be good for Mommy, Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, right?"
"Yes Daddy."
"I love you both." He kisses their heads again and stands, looking at Padmé. "I love you too, you know."
"I know." She smiles. "Try and come home in one piece? Please?"
Anakin smirks, "We'll see." He leans over the twins and kisses her softly. "I'll see you soon."
"I'm counting on it." Anakin takes a breath and turns his back to his family, before he loses the nerve to get on the ship, where Obi-Wan is leaning against the entrance.
Obi-Wan sits next to Anakin in the cockpit of their ship. The same freighter that was loaned to them by Senator Organa five years ago. He watches his former apprentice stare blankly out the viewport, playing with the pink bracelet gifted to him yesterday. Obi-Wan knows how hard Anakin is taking the separation from his family. He too found it difficult to leave Luke and Leia. He's grown rather fond of his brother's children. Their light presences make these times seem less dark. But, alas, they knew they wouldn't be hidden away from the conflict for long. They never were.
Kenobi and Skywalker, at it once again. This show, however, is much different from the one they previously starred in. This time, they stick to the shadows. Watch rather than engage, though, he believes they will be engaging when they reach their destination. Wardrobes have also changed. Anakin wears a dark grey flight suit, black gauntlet in its normal place over his right hand and lower arm. He rolls the sleeve over his left wrist and folds against his forearm exposing his wrist communicator, his newly acquired pink bracelet and the small durasteel band on his ring finger.
Obi-Wan notes the presence of his lightsaber, resting against his bent leg. The belt and weapon being the only reminder of who they once were. He too carries his lightsaber, and wears a flight suit similar to Anakin's. Both hands oxposes, and a simple charcoal colored poncho draped across his shoulders. Obi-Wan doesn't know what to expect when they land, for all they know, the Jedi moved on. Along with Saw. Saw is the key to finding the Jedi.
Artoo beeps next to Anakin, who looks to the controls. "Thanks buddy." He turns to Obi-Wan. "We'll be dropping out of hyperspace in two minutes."
Obi-Wan nods. "You ready?"
Anakin smirks. "This is where the fun begins."
"I was afraid you were going to say that."
AN: I know, I feel like this chapter has bounced around a ton. Things are starting to get more interesting. For those who don't know, I am bridging in the Fallen Order video game. The characters were too awesome not to add. Just an FYI. This was written before Bad Batch was released, which is why the timeline with Ahsoka and Rex is a bit different. I would expect the updates to continue being slow unfortunately. I also have no promises when another chapter will be up. I am trying to work on it little by little, and have plans on what I want to happen. Thank you all for your patience and have a good day!
