Dedicated to the memory of wrestler Shannon Claire Spruill better known as Daffney who tragically lost her life to suicide, 1975-2021. Rest in Peace and I hope for the best for her friends and family.
Sonic was excited as he was coming with Tom and Maddie Wachowski his adoptive parents to San Francisco to stay with Maddie's sister Rachel (not that she was too thrilled to have Tom and Sonic coming over but she was trying to be nice) and Jojo was thrilled to have her cousin come over. On the day that they came over Jojo had brought Sonic over to draw and color with her while their parents looked on while sitting on the couch.
"Sonic, I have been so excited to you; Uncle Tommy and Aunt Maddie coming over! I have made a new friend and I have so badly wanted to introduce you to them!" Jojo cheered showing off her crayon drawing flying with a purple jester with a red vest.
"So has the circus been in town lately? I have been to the circus; mostly I just sneak in and hide within the stands but I have never seen Hugh Jackman host it yet..." Sonic excitedly asked but Jojo shook her head. "So are they like a children's entertainer?" Sonic asked but Jojo shook her head.
"Their name is NiGHTS and they love having fun and flying around in the sky with the visitors to their home!" Jojo said as Sonic was open mouthed and Tom and Maddie were taken aback. "Their home is Nightopia where kids go where they dream!" Jojo continued on as Tom and Maddie smiled as Sonic's eyes were widened.
"So Jojo has an imaginary friend?" Maddie asked Rachel who sighed nodding.
"She imagined up a whole adventure in her dreams; she could write a book when she is older or see if a video game company or Disney will take pick up the story." Rachel said as Jojo had a more serious face as she showed off a robed scary looking figure.
"Wizeman the Wicked; a bad guy who wants to steal energy from the children who visit Nightopia so he can take over; he can control nightmares and created Nightmarens to serve him. NiGHTS was one but they turned good and I helped stop Wizeman and saved Nightopia!" Jojo explained as Sonic took a closer look as the adults looked on.
"Wizeman; he doesn't look like Obi-Wan Kenobi or that he should be giving gifts to baby Jesus! He should have called him Robedman!" Sonic remarked as Jojo laughed. "He should be lucky that I wasn't there since I would have kicked his sorry butt if he has one..." Sonic continued on looking confident.
"I told NiGHTS and the other good dream creatures about you and they would all love to meet you! NiGHTS can do something called dualize where they merge and share bodies with visitors! That way NiGHTS can see what it is like to go fast like you do on the ground!" Jojo explained as Sonic was open mouthed again.
"I... Have no clue how to feel about this as it sounds extremely evasive and weird..." Sonic said as Jojo and the Wachowskis laughed.
Later it was night time and Jojo was put to bed by her mother as the Wachowskis helped Sonic settle in with his sleeping bag in a guest room. Sonic went to sleep and ended up finding himself in some sort of field. However he found a large owl in a red suit and a blue vest that made him think of Longclaw except that this owl looked different than how Longclaw did.
"Sonic; you're here with me in Nightopia! This is Owl my first friend here and Owl this is Sonic; I told you of how he is my cousin now that my aunt and uncle took him in!" Jojo said excitedly as Sonic took a moment to grasp it all in.
"Wait a minute; your name is Owl? Your parents didn't put any effort or care into your name, did they? Wait; so is this Nightopia the dream place and it's real? Are we sharing the same dream and should I be worried that Freddy Krueger is here?" Sonic asked excitedly as Owl looked amused.
"Let me welcome you to Nightopia; Sonic and Jojo has told us so much about you and I had my doubts but seeing is believing they say! I will be honest in saying that we never had a visitor like you here before?" Owl said greeting Sonic.
"So where is the flying jester?" Sonic asked as he heard a flute playing and looked on sitting in a rock was a rock. He rushed over there and spotted the figure playing the flute was NiGHTS who looked like Jojo's drawing.
"Wow you startled me visitor..." NiGHTS said a Sonic was a few feet away from them; they looked at Sonic and gasped. They flew up slightly into the air and took a good look at Sonic. "No way; you must be Sonic that Jojo has talked so much about! I thought that she was making you up to have something cool to talk about but here you are! Jojo said about how you came from another planet and can run really fast; you must tell me all!" NiGHTS said as if they were a little kid meeting Santa Claus for the first time as Jojo and Owl managed to catch up them.
Sonic thought that this would be a fun seeing that magical dream creatures exist; either that or someone should really look at the expiration dates on the ingredients that Rachel uses for her cooking...
If Sega wants to do a Sega Cinematic Universe thanks to the success of the Sonic movie then I would definitely would want them to do a Nights Into Dreams movie and since NiGHTS is genderless then it could be the first Trans led video game movie. Then I wondered if that happens then they can have Jojo be one of the 2 lead human characters to tie into the universe. I have other ideas if Sega and Paramount got me to be their Kevin Fiege. I also hoped if Balan Wonderworld was a success then it would inspire Sega to go back to work making Nights games but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Right now Sega mostly focuses on Sonic and to a lesser extent Yakuza (some of the most fun fighting I ever had in a video game) but fortunately for me I am a fan of both of those series especially the first.
