Chapter 30
Clash of the Rivals
Five minutes have passed since Team 1 of Class 1-A defeated Team 1 of Class 1-B. The two teams now stand in front of their teachers.
"Go on and tell us what you learned," said Aizawa.
"If my opponent doesn't want to fight, my quirk is practically useless. If I was in a real fight, I would be dead meat if I got caught," said Kirishima.
"I need to give more specific instructions to my animals," said Koda.
"I was awesome right? Feel free to smother me with praise. Don't hold back and show me some love," said Kaminari.
"We lost two teammates. I wanted to win with the whole team intact, but it all got a little chaotic," said Tsuyu.
"Nobody's a pro straight out of the gate. You shouldn't be too frustrated with your performances, but that doesn't mean that you can't be criticized. Kirishima, focus on setting up direct encounters when you brawl. If you don't, you'll end up getting captured as you did. Koda, work on strategizing. If you were a better strategist, you wouldn't have been captured. Kaminari, your early game was a mess. Why does it take for your teammates to get captured for you to show off your talents? You guys could've won earlier if Kaminari decided to go all out at the beginning. Tsuyu, even though you messed up, you bounced back. Good job," said Aizawa.
"You already know what I'm about to say, especially you Kosei," said Vlad King.
"Yes sensei," said Team 1.
"I'm going to tell you anyway. Was Shishida your central pillar or was it Shiozaki! If you had consolidated leadership, you could've won!" said Vlad King.
"We're so sorry sensei!" exclaimed Team 1.
"Team 2, you better not disappoint me," said Vlad King.
"We won't!" exclaimed Team 2.
"Team 2 of Class A and Team 2 of Class B, get down there. You guys are up next," said Aizawa.
Five minutes pass.
"Start!" exclaimed Vlad King.
Before Team 2 can react, they see Dark Shadow floating in front of them.
"They don't know our quirks, so Tokoyami must be using his quirk to scope us out," said Kendo.
"Scoping you out? No, I'm here to take you out!" said Dark Shadow.
Dark Shadow attacks Team 2.
"Don't worry guys. I'll deal with him," said Shihai.
Shihai grabs Dark Shadow and he stops moving.
"My quirk allows me to control anything black, so I can use Tokoyami's quirk against him," said Shihai.
Shihai manipulates Dark Shadow and heads in the direction of Team 2 of Class A. Team 2 of Class A is currently running towards Team 2 of Class B. Tokiyami continues to run until he receives a message.
"They got me Tokoyami," said Dark Shadow.
Dark Shadow appears a few feet in front of Tokoyami.
"Everyone scatter! Come back to me Dark Shadow!" exclaimed Tokoyami.
Dark Shadow doesn't listen and punches Tokoyami. Tokoyami flies into a wall. Shihai jumps out of Dark Shadow and teleports to the shadow on the pipe above Tokoyami.
"Tokoyami, I will wear your body like a suit," said Shihai.
"If you want to wear my body like a suit, you will have to beat me. I will beat you with the technique that Hawks helped me create," said Tokoyami.
Tokoyami takes off his cloak.
"What is this technique called?" asked Shihai.
"Black Fallen Angel," said Tokoyami.
"That sounds cool, but I have to go. I see some prey not paying attention," said Shihai.
"What do you-" said Tokoyami.
Tokoyami is unable to finish asking his question before Shihai disappears. He teleports to the shadow behind Aoyama. He grabs Aoyama and he's dragged towards Team 2 of Class B's home base.
"Help me!" exclaimed Aoyama.
"Dark Shadow: Dark Fallen Angel!" exclaimed Tokoyami.
Two wings created by Dark Shadow come out of Tokoyami's back. He rockets towards Shihai. He grabs Aoyama and flies back in the direction of his other teammates. Shihai starts to follow them.
"He's on my tail. Aoyama, can you stop him from following us?" said Tokoyama.
"I'll try," said Aoyama.
Aoyama shoots a naval blast and it bounces off a pipe. The blast starts to bounce off of all of the pipes.
"I have an idea," said Aoyama.
"What is it?" asked Tokoyama.
"Just watch," said Aoyama.
Aoyama shoots out multiple naval blasts and they bounce off of the pipes, preventing Shihai from following them.
Mina and Hagakure look up at their two teammates rocketing towards them.
"Good job guys!" exclaimed Hagakure.
"You guys rock!" exclaimed Mina.
After Mina stops speaking, a mushroom appears on her nose.
"All this light means that Shihai failed! Now, it's time for Plan B! Mushrooms for all! Everyone, everywhere, everyshroom!" exclaimed Kinoko.
More mushrooms appear on Mina's body. Mushrooms start to appear on Hagakure's body.
"Oh no! The mushrooms are revealing my curves! This is so embarrassing!" exclaimed Hagakure.
The mushrooms start to cover the entire area.
"Her quirk must allow her to create an infinite amount of mushrooms. We have to get out of-" said Mina.
Before Mina can finish speaking, giant words ripped straight out of a manga are launched in their direction. They are barely able to dodge this attack. Hagakure turns her head and sees a giant word on her side.
"Humid? What is that supposed to mean?" thought Hagakure.
A few seconds pass until the mushrooms start to grow out of control. Hagakure notices this and starts to run.
"That giant word is a humidifier! The mushrooms are growing out of control!" exclaimed Hagakure.
"Yeah, let's get-" said Mina.
Before she can finish speaking, she's socked in the face by Kendo's enlarged fist. She flies into Hagakure's arms and falls unconscious.
"Mina, are you ok?" asked Hagakure.
Mina doesn't respond. Hagakure starts to run but trips over a mushroom. She falls to the ground. Kendo stands over her.
"That was pretty clumsy," said Kendo.
"Yeah, it was," said Hagakure.
"Sadly, you're my prisoner now, so come with me," said Kendo.
"I'll never give u-" said Hagakure.
Hagakure is unable to finish speaking before she is knocked out by kendo's enlarged fist.
"I got two Shihai. Go get the others," said Kendo.
"Ok," said Shihai.
Shihai teleports through the shadows until he finds Aoyama and Tokoyami. He jumps from the shadows and grabs Aoyama.
"Aoyama!" exclaimed Tokoyami.
Before Tokoyami can jump on Shihai, a wall of mushrooms block his path. He tries to jump over the wall, but Kendo punches him in the face. Tokoyami falls to the ground and quickly gets back up. He's about to fight Kendo until he hears Vlad King's voice on the PA system.
"Time's up! Class B wins!" exclaimed Vlad King joyfully.
"Dammit," said Tokyami.
Five minutes pass. Joshua and Momo watch the students walking up the stairs.
"That was kind of embarrassing. Class B barely had to try to beat us," said Joshua.
"The score's all tied up now. We'll show what we're made of during our match," said Momo.
"Team 3 of Class A and Team 3 of Class B, get down there. Your match starts in five minutes," said Vlad King.
Five minutes pass. Team 3 of Class A stands on the other side of Ground Gamma. They hear a large sound and look up. They see pipes falling.
"What's going on?" asked Ojiro.
"That must be Tetsutetsu," said Ochaco.
"Class B must be looking for a head-on battle. Let's give them that," said Ida.
Team 3 of Class A runs towards Team 3 of Class B. As they get closer, Ochaco, Shoji, and Ojiro move to the side.
"Recipro Burst!" exclaimed Ida.
Ida zooms towards Class B.
"Here they come! Don't try us!" exclaimed Tetsutetsu.
Juzo places his hand on the floor. The floor starts to soften into a concrete goo.
"Good counterattack! I'll deal with Ojiro," said Kaibara.
Ojiro's body parts start to rotate like a drill. He jumps up and pounces on Ojiro. Ojiro is barely able to block the attack. Ida sees this and tries to help, but he sinks into the softened floor.
"I've softened everything. You can't escape with your speed," said Juzo.
"You're attempting to put an end to our teamwork you cunning villains!" exclaimed Ida.
Ochaco and Shoji hide behind a pipe.
"Do you see anything?" asked Ochaco.
"Ojiro and Ida are in combat with other Class B students, but I don't see the other two," said Shoji.
"Where could they be?" asked Ochaco.
Seconds after she says this, two horns hit Shoji and pin him to the wall.
"Shoji!" exclaimed Ochaco.
"You shouldn't worry about him! You should worry about me!" exclaimed Tetsutetsu.
Tetsutetsu grabs Ochaco and throws her into a pipe.
"I don't like beating up girls, but Class B will win!" exclaimed Tetsutetsu.
Tetsutetsu charges at Ochaco. Ochaco taps Tetsutetsu's arm and he starts to float upwards.
"What's going on? Why am I floating?" asked Tetsutetsu.
"My quirk works on living beings as well," said Ochaco.
"Get me down!" exclaimed Tetsutetsu.
"You'll come down when we win," said Ochaco.
"Uraraka!" exclaimed Tetsutetsu.
Ochaco runs off. She runs until she sees Pony standing in the alleyway.
"I see that you took care of Tetsutetsu. I won't go down that easy," said Pony.
Pony shoots out two horns. Ochaco casually dodges both of them. Ochaco is about to attack Pony until the two horns hit her in the back. She flies to the other side of the alleyway.
"My quirk doesn't just allow me to shoot out horns. It also allows me to control them as well," said Pony.
Ochaco slowly gets up.
"She can launch those arrows so quickly. I won't have time to just dodge. I have to find a way to block her horns and incapacitate her at the same time," thought Ochaco.
Ochaco runs out of the alleyway.
"Why are you running? Am I that scary?" asked Pony.
Before Pony can chase after Ochaco, she is punched in the face by Shoji. She flies into the wall.
"How did you escape?" asked Pony.
"I have four arms. Two horns are nothing to me," said Shoji.
"I'll take you down. Then, I'll get that Ochaco girl," said Pony.
"You don't have to get me because I'm right here!" exclaimed Ochaco.
Pony turns her head and sees Ochaco holding a pipe. She shoots out two horns and Ochaco blocks them with the pipe. She jumps up and smashes the giant pipe on Pony's head, knocking her out.
"Shoji, grab her and take her back to our base. I'll go help Ojiro," said Ochaco.
"Ok," said Shoji.
Shoji grabs Pony and runs off. Ochaco runs towards Ojiro. She sees him dueling Kaibara. She climbs onto the pipes and grabs Kaibara. He starts to float.
"What the hell is going on?" asked Kaibara.
Kaibara looks down and sees Ochaco standing under him.
"Damn. She must have touched me," thought Kaibara.
"Thanks for the assist. I'll deal with him," said Ojiro.
Ojiro jumps up and uses his tail to smack Kaibara to the ground. He pounces on Kaibara and headbutts him. He grabs Kaibara's foot and throws him against the wall. Kaibara turns his body parts into a drill and tries to pounce on Ojiro, but he kicks him in the stomach. Kaibara falls and kneels in front of Ojiro. Ojiro kicks him in the chin and Kaibara flies into the air. Ojiro jumps up and smacks Kaibara with his tail. Kaibara falls to the ground. Ojiro lands on top of him and punches him in the face, knocking him out.
"I think he's out cold," said Ojiro.
Ochaco runs up to him.
"You should take him to home base. I need to go help Ida," said Ochaco.
"Good luck," said Ojiro.
Ojiro grabs Kaibara and runs towards their home base. Ochaco turns around and runs towards Ida.
"Recipro's on a timer. You should have used it earlier if you wanted to escape," said Juzo.
"A timer? Who told you that? Ingenium is always ready to run! Recipro Turbo!" said Ida.
Ida's engines start to burst out fire and he quickly escapes from the softened floor. He zooms towards Juzo and grabs him. He runs towards a wall and smashes into it. He runs back and zooms towards the dazed Juzo and smashes into him once again. Juzo falls to the ground and coughs up a little blood. He falls unconscious. Ida grabs Juzo.
"Maybe I used too much power to beat him," said Ida.
Ida zooms towards his home base. He runs for a minute until he stops in front of a cage. He sees two Class B students sitting in the cage. He opens it and places Juzo in it. He turns around and sees Ochaco running towards him. She stops and pants.
"You took him out fast," said Ochaco.
"I used the new move that I got after upgrading my engines. Where's Tetsutetsu?" said Ida.
"He'll be coming down any moment," said Ochaco.
"Coming down?" asked Ida.
Ida looks up at the sky and sees Tetsutetsu falling out of the sky. Tetsutetsu lands on the ground, creating a small crater. Ida runs up to the crater and grabs Tetsutetsu. He throws him in the cage. Vlad King's voice appears on the PA system.
"With the capture of the four Class B students, match 3 is sadly over," said Vlad King.
