Chapter 31
Down To The Wire
Ten minutes have passed since Team 3 of Class 1-A won the third match. Team 4 of Class 1-A and Team 4 of Class 1-B stand inside of Ground Gamma, waiting for their match to start.
"We're going to destroy those losers!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Yeah!" exclaimed Sero.
"We're going to charge them and kill those bastards!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"We're not going to win with a strategy like that," said Jiro.
"Yeah. Jiro's right," said Sato.
Bakugo turns his head and showcases his annoyed expression.
"Did I stutter!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"No," said Sato.
"Now, let's get moving slowpokes!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Bakugo runs in the direction of Team 4 of Class B.
"That guy hasn't changed since the sports festival," said Sero.
"We can't just sit here and complain. We have to beat Class 1-B. Let's get moving," said Sato.
Bakugo's teammates start to run after him. They run for a couple minutes until they catch up to Bakugo.
"It took you turtles long enough!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"You're the one who ran off without us!" exclaimed Jiro.
"Quiet! They're here! Jiro, use your lobes!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Jiro attaches her earjacks to the pipes. She starts to listen for sounds and she hears something.
"What's the holdup!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"They've got us!" exclaimed Jiro.
"Yeah. It's all over now," said Tokage.
Bakugo turns his head and sees a talking mouth behind him. Bakugo tries to punch the mouth, but it easily moves out of the way. More of Tokage's body parts start to rocket towards Bakugo.
"Barricade Tape!" exclaimed Sero.
Sero shoots a bunch of tape, blocking Tokage's body parts.
"I had her!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Thank you would be good enough," said Sero.
"Shut up nerd!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Kojiro climbs onto one of the pipes.
"Glue Squall!" exclaimed Kojiro.
Kojiro spits out glue, covering the battlefield.
"We're trapped!" exclaimed Sero.
"This way!" exclaimed Jiro.
Team 4 of Class A starts to move until Kamakiri cuts a pipe in half. The pipe starts to fall. Sato tries to grab it, but Bakugo creates an explosion and blows up the pipe.
"Let's go and take down the biggest nuisance!" exclaimed Tokage.
Kamakiri tries to jump on Jiro, but Bakugo jumps in the way. He creates an explosion and blows Kamakiri away.
"We can't just stay here and get picked off! Let's get moving!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Bakugo uses his explosions to propel himself in the air. He goes after Kojiro first. Kojiro tries to spit glue at him, but Sero uses his tape to grab Kojiro and slams him on the ground. Bakugo lands a few feet in front of him and launches an explosion in his face, knocking him out.
"You're welcome," said Sero.
Bakugo doesn't respond and he uses his explosions to fly off.
"I'll take that as a thank you," said Sero.
Bakugo propels himself towards Kamakiri. Kamakiri tries to cut him, but Bakugo flies above him and blasts him with an explosion. Kamakiri rockets towards the ground. Kamakiri tries to get up, but he sees Sato on top of a pipe. Sato jumps off the pipe and lands on Kamakiri, knocking him out. Sato stands up and looks at Bakugo.
"I got this one. You go after the other two," said Sato.
"Don't order me around diabetes!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Bakugo uses his explosions to fly in the direction of Awase. Awase tries to run away, but Jiro attaches her earjacks to Awase's body and he starts to violently shake. Bakugo lands on the ground and runs towards Awase. He launches a large explosion and it hits both Jiro and Awase. The explosion knocks out Awase and harms Jiro.
"I was right there you know," said Jiro.
"I don't have time for your complaints Lobes! Take him back to home base!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Fine," said Jiro.
Jiro grabs Awase and throws him over her shoulder. Bakugo runs off.
"There was one more. Where is that lizard girl?" said Bakugo.
"Right here," said Tokage.
Bakugo hears the lizard girl's voice and uses his explosions to jump away. He launches a large explosion at Tokage, but her half-floating body dodges it. She expects to see her opponent on the other side of the explosion, but she sees no one. She hears a sparkling behind her and turns around and sees Bakugo about to launch a giant explosion at her.
"Good night," said Bakugo.
Bakugo launches the explosion and it hits Tokage at point-blank range. She rockets towards the ground having already fallen unconscious once the explosion hit her. Bakugo lands on the ground. Bakugo sees the rest of Tokage's body crawl back and rejoin the upper half of her body. Bakugo picks her up and uses his explosions in his right hand to fly towards his team's home base. He flies for a couple minutes until he reaches his home base. He opens the cage and throws Tokage in it. Vlad King's voice appears on the PA system.
"Not again! This time, we lost in less than five minutes! Class A wins with a clean sweep," said Vlad King disappointingly.
Jiro, Sero, and Sato high-five each other. Bakugo just walks away. Five minutes pass. Both teams walk back to their respective classes. Their homeroom teachers walk up to them.
"You all kept the damage to a minimum and were very efficient from start to finish. With Bakugo's strength and agility, he was the foundation that you three built off of. You guys did good," said Aizawa.
"You guys had a solid strategy, but your plan was too rigid to win!" exclaimed Vlad King.
"We're sorry sensei!" exclaimed Team 4 of Class B.
Bakugo walks away. Joshua walks up to him.
"You did good," said Joshua.
"I'm getting closer. I'll be counting down the days until I finally surpass you," said Bakugo.
"You're going to be counting for a long time then," said Joshua.
"Get out of my way. You won't do better than me during your match," said Bakugo.
"Is that a bet?" asked Joshua.
"I don't care what you say it is. You won't beat me," said Bakugo.
"We'll see," said Joshua.
"Team 5 of Class A and B get down there. Your match will start in a few minutes," said Vlad King.
Five minutes pass. Team 5 of Class 1-A stands inside an area full of pipes.
"How are we going to face them?" asked Shoto.
"This match should be a breeze. We're practically a superteam," said Izuku.
"We can't get cocky. Even though we're way more powerful and skilled than them, we can still lose if we don't try our best," said Momo.
"I have the perfect strategy," said Joshua.
"What is it?" asked Shoto.
"It's a 4v4, so let's all take on one of them. If we're such a superteam, we should be able to whoop them without a strategy," said Joshua.
"I call dibs on Monoma. That weirdo needs to be put in his place," said Izuku.
"You won't have to wait long because they're going to be here in a few seconds," said Joshua.
Seconds after he says this, a large nail rockets towards them. They easily dodge this surprise attack.
"I'll take on whoever threw that," said Momo.
"Go get her," said Joshua.
Momo runs off in the direction of the attackers. She continues to run until she sees an expressionless girl standing on a pipe.
"So, you can enlarge things with your quirk right?" asked Momo.
The expressionless girl doesn't respond.
"Well, I'm going to have to take you down," said Momo.
Momo uses her quirk to create a pair of flight boots. She flies up to the pipe that Kodai is standing on. Kodai jumps out of the way and lands on another pipe. Kodai grabs a metal nut out of her pocket and throws it at Momo. Momo easily jumps over it and pounces on her. Kodai throws another large metal nut at Momo, but she jumps through the hole. She grabs Kodai and jumps off the pipe. They land on the ground and Momo punches Kodai, breaking her nose. She headbutts Kodai, knocking her out.
"I thought that you would be more of a threat, but I guess I was wrong," said Momo.
Momo grabs Kodai and throws her over her shoulder. She runs off in the direction of her home base. Back with the rest of Team 5, they see the three other members of Team 5 of Class 1-B standing over them.
"Who got who?" asked Joshua.
"Monoma's mine," said Izuku.
"I can take on the girl. I'll make sure to not hurt her too much,' said Shoto.
"I guess I'll take on the chubby one," said Joshua.
"Are you guys underestimating us once again! You think that we're so weak that you can take us all on one on one! You have to be kidding me! I can't wait to see your faces when we beat y-" exclaimed Monoma.
Before Monoma can finish speaking, Izuku punches him in the face. Monoma flies backward and hits a wall. He falls unconscious on impact.
"Monoma!" exclaimed Shoda.
"Don't focus on him! Your opponents are us!" exclaimed Joshua.
Joshua kicks Shoda in the stomach. Shoda flies into the wall. He falls on the ground and lands right next to Monoma's unconscious body. Shoda slowly gets up and sees Joshua standing above him.
"You really shouldn't have gotten up," said Joshua.
Joshua grabs Shoda and throws him into a pipe. He charges towards Shoda and dragon kicks him in the face. Shoda flies through the pipes and hits another wall.
"Good night," said Joshua.
Joshua knees him in the face and Shoda passes out.
"Monoma was talking out all of that trash, but his class wasn't much of a threat. I wonder how Shoto's match is going," said Joshua.
Joshua looks at the sky and sees a giant iceberg. Joshua runs towards the iceberg and sees Yanagi stuck in it.
"She was not even a threat. This was a waste of my time," said Shoto.
"At least we can brag about beating Class 1-B once again," said Joshua.
Two minutes pass. Shoto and Joshua place both of their opponents into the cage. Vlad King's voice appears on the PA system.
"We have lost once again! Now, we get defeated in three minutes! Class A wins this training exercise!" exclaimed Vlad King disappointingly.
