Chapter 35
Emergency
The warm night passes by quickly. As the sun rises, Joshua stands on the rooftop, admiring the warm sun awakening. After looking at the sun for a few minutes, he enters the motel through the window. He hears the phone ring and walks towards it. He picks it up.
"Nabu Island Hero Agency. What do you need?" said Joshua.
"They're villains at the harbor!" exclaimed Katsume.
"Katsume, is that you?" asked Joshua.
"Mr. Ronin, hurry!" exclaimed Katsuma.
"I'll be there, but where is the-," said Joshua.
The call is dropped before Joshua can finish speaking to Katsuma.
"I got to get there fast. They can be in danger," said Joshua.
Joshua grabs his bag and opens it. He takes out his balled-up suit and presses the button. His suit attaches to him and he runs out of the building. He runs into Bakugo, nearly knocking him over.
"What the hell is wrong with you, nerd?" asked Bakugo.
"I got to save lives," said Joshua.
Joshua rockets into the air.
"What a weirdo," said Bakugo.
Joshua flies at top speed, surveying the ground from the sky. He continues to fly until he sees an explosion.
"What was that? I have to see what's going on," said Joshua.
Joshua rockets towards the ground. He sees the two siblings, cowering in fear in front of a man. As he approaches the ground, he opens his arms. Once he's a few inches from the siblings, he grabs them and rockets back into the sky.
"Ronin!" exclaimed the siblings.
"Just call me Mr. Josh," said Joshua.
Joshua flies for a few minutes until he finds open space and lands.
"Are you guys ok?" asked Joshua.
"We're fine," said Mahoro.
"That's good. Can you guys run?" said Joshua.
"Yes," said Katsuma.
"Good. Now, get out of here. Try to find a friendly neighbor," said Joshua.
"Where are you going to go?" asked Katsuma.
"I'm going to face that guy," said Joshua.
"But, he's scary," said Katsuma.
"Don't worry. Heroes don't get scared of bad guys like him. Now, get out of here," said Joshua.
"Thank you, sir," said Mahoro.
The two siblings run away.
"Now, you're next mask guy," said Joshua.
Joshua rockets into the sky and flies in the direction of the villain. In one minute, Joshua locates the masked villain. He rockets towards the villain and tries to punch the masked villain, but the villain puts his hand up and creates an air wall. The air wall blocks Joshua's punch.
"An air wall? That must be his quirk," thought Joshua.
The masked villain destroys the air wall and Joshua jumps away. The masked villain lifts his hand and starts to shoot lasers out of his fingertips. Joshua dodges the lasers and runs behind a tree.
"He has multiple quirks, just like All For One. I doubt that this guy's a nomu. They're not this advanced. Maybe he's All For One's lackey or replacement. I don't know, but he still has to go down," thought Joshua.
Joshua moves away from the tree. He opens a pouch of his utility belt and pulls out a few shuriken. He throws them at the masked villain, but the masked villain easily blocks them with his air wall. The masked villain shoots lasers out of his fingertips once again and Joshua dodges them.
"I'm not getting anywhere with my current strategy. It's time to adapt," thought Joshua.
"Full Cowling: Forty Percent!" exclaimed Joshua.
Green lightning sparks around Joshua's suit. He charges towards the masked villain and winds his arm back.
"Detroit Smash!" exclaimed Joshua.
Joshua tries to punch the masked villain, but his air wall blocks it. Even though his air wall blocks the punch, the masked villain is pushed back by a hundred feet.
"You are strong. Let me take your quirk," said the masked villain.
"Not a chance, bootleg All For One," said Joshua.
Joshua uses this distraction to his advantage and kicks the masked villain in the face, breaking his mask. The villain is sent flying backward.
"Good job Mr. Josh!" exclaimed Katsuma.
Joshua turns around and sees the two siblings standing on a hill behind him.
"Why are you guys here? I told you to leave," said Joshua.
"We thought you needed some support," said Mahoro.
"Thanks, but I'm f-" said Joshua.
Joshua doesn't finish his statement and just looks down at his leg. The armor on his leg and his leg has a hole in it. Blood starts to flow out.
"Mr. Josh!" exclaimed Katsuma.
Joshua turns back around and barely dodges another laser.
"Get back! I'll deal with him," said Joshua.
Joshua pulls both of his katanas out.
"It's very dishonorable to fight your opponent when he has his back turned. I thought your parents taught you that," said Joshua.
"I want your quirk," said the masked villain.
"You're not getting it," said Joshua.
Joshua charges at the masked villain. The masked villain shoots lasers at Joshua, but he easily blocks them with his katanas. Joshua jumps up and spins like a top. He lands in front of the masked villain and cuts open his chest. Joshua kicks the masked villain in the chest and he flies back. Joshua charges at the masked villain and pounces on him.
"I guess that I will have to play dirty," thought the masked villain.
The masked villain aims his hand at the two siblings and blasts multiple laser bolts at them.
"No! Get out of the way!" exclaimed Joshua.
Joshua gets off the masked villain and tries to run and grab the kids, but the masked villain trips him. The masked villain gets up and places his hand on Joshua's head.
"Now, your quirk is mine," said the masked villain.
The masked villain tries to steal Joshua's "quirk", but nothing happens.
"What's happening? Why can't I take it?" asked the masked villain.
"I don't know, but I need to save them," said Joshua.
"There's no need. They've already dodged my attack," said the masked villain.
The masked villain drops Joshua. He walks towards the two siblings.
"Now, it's time to take their quirks. I can't have yours, but I can have theirs," said the masked villain.
"I won't let you," said Joshua.
Joshua tries to grab the masked villain, but he can't. He tries to move, but his body won't budge.
"What did you do to me?" asked Joshua.
"After I steal someone's quirk or almost steal it, the person's body that I tried to steal the quirk from will be paralyzed for at least a minute," said the masked villain.
"You won't steal their quirks! I won't allow it! As a hero, I vowed to protect the next generation! Your ability won't work on me because my will is unbreakable!" exclaimed Joshua.
Joshua starts to slowly get back up.
"Good speech kid, but I already have my prize," said the masked villain.
"No!" exclaimed Joshua.
As the masked villain's hand gets closer to the trembling kids, Joshua tries even harder to get back up, but he can't. The masked villain is about to place his hand on Katsuma until a green blur grabs both of the kids.
"What was that?" asked the masked villain.
Joshua lifts his head and sees his friend standing over him.
"Did you let this guy beat you? You've gotten weaker," said Izuku.
"It's no time to gloat. We have to save them," said Joshua.
"I've already brought them to a safe place. Now, we have to take him down," said Izuku.
Joshua gets up.
"We have to come up with a plan," said Joshua.
"I was thinking that-" said Izuku.
Before Izuku can finish speaking, he hears Bakugo screaming as he flies in their direction.
"I think that we have more help coming," said Izuku.
Joshua looks up at the sky.
"That idiot could have had the stealth advantage, but he chose to scream like a maniac. He won't be able to beat him," said Joshua.
"Kacchan! Don't attack him!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Shut up, Deku!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Bakugo rockets towards the masked villain.
"You may have beat those two losers, but you won't beat me!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"We'll see," said the masked villain.
The masked villain shoots laser bolts at Bakugo and Bakugo easily dodges them. Expecting an attack, the masked villain creates an air wall. Bakugo sees this and dodges the air wall.
"I've seen all of your moves. You won't-" said Bakugo.
Before Bakugo can finish speaking, a blue dragon comes out of the masked villain's back and hits him like a moving train. Bakugo is sent into the air and slammed onto the ground.
"He's breaking my ribs, but I can't let this freak beat me," thought Bakugo.
Bakugo launches a large explosion at the masked villain. The masked villain blocks it with an air wall.
"Do something!" exclaimed Bakugo.
Joshua and Izuku charge at the masked villain. They both jump up in the air and prepare a combined attack.
"Detroit Smash!" exclaimed Izuku and Joshua.
Before the combined attack can land, the masked villain puts his left hand in the air. A storm cloud appears in the sky and a lightning bolt is created. The lightning bolt shoots out of the storm cloud and zaps the three heroes. The three heroes scream in pain. Joshua and Izuku fall to the ground.
"Now that you pests have been dealt with, I can gain my prize," said the masked villain.
When the masked villain starts to walk, Joshua and Izuku grab the masked villain's ankles.
"I won't let you leave. This battle isn't over," said Izuku and Joshua.
"You guys are annoying," said the masked villain.
The masked villain creates an air wall and launches Izuku and Joshua into the air. They land on the ground a few seconds later. The masked villain continues to walk until he stops. He falls to his knees in pain.
"He must be sick or we did a lot of damage to him. This is our chance," said Joshua.
Joshua starts to slowly get up. Before he can completely get back on his feet, a red-haired villain lands on the ground next to the masked villain.
"Nine, are you ok?" asked the redhead.
"I need the boy," said Nine.
"Where is he at?" asked the redhead.
Nine points to the right.
"He went that way," said Nine.
"Ok," said the redhead.
"I don't know if you villains are retarded or something, but just because I'm on the ground doesn't mean that I've been defeated. Come and take me on, villain," said Joshua.
"Fine. I'll finish you off first," said the redhead.
Before she can take a step closer, a large unkindness of ravens circles the red-haired villain. Shoji runs up and grabs Bakugo, Joshua, and Izuku.
"I got you guys. You can rest now," said Shoji.
"We have to take care of the villains," said Joshua.
"We'll deal with them later," said Shoji.
"But, they're right in our grasp," said Joshua.
"Stop complaining dammit. It's annoying," said Bakugo.
"Shut u-" said Joshua.
Joshua passes out from his injuries before he can finish talking.
"Finally some silence," said Bakugo.
