Chapter 37
Aftermath
A month has passed since Class 1-A defended Nabu Island from Nine and his gang. After hearing of their heroics, every news station in the world has wanted to interview the members of Class 1-A. Now, Joshua, Izuku, and Bakugo are currently being interviewed in the common room by a local news station.
"A month ago, these three future heroes in front of me took on the villainous Nine and his goons on the small island of Nabu. Please, tell the citizens of Musutafu your stories," said the female reporter.
"Well, it was nothing special. We just saved an island of people and defeated a few villains. It's just like I Island all over again," said Izuku.
Bakugo turns his head and looks at Izuku with an angry expression.
"Shut up you damn nerd! You're ruining my spotlight!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Your spotlight? You wouldn't have even landed a hit on him without me," said Joshua.
Bakugo turns his head to look at Joshua with an angry expression.
"You lying bastard! I could've defeated him with no help!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"You're delusional as always Kacchan," said Izuku.
"I swear to god that I will destroy you both if you don't shut up!" exclaimed Bakugo.
"Umm boys. We're on the air," said the female reporter.
"I'll tell you all of the good stuff. So, when we first got to the island, we got a prank call from this girl named Mahoro. She wanted to test us because she didn't like heroes. She disliked heroes because her little brother wants to become one when he grows up. Yes, the job of being a hero is a dangerous one, but it is also very helpful to this broken society. Back to the story. I told the two siblings to not do something like that again and they left. The morning after the incident, we got another call, but from the little brother instead. This time there were villains. I combatted Nine and I did pretty well, but he tried to steal a quirk that I didn't possess. He went after the little boy named Katsuma, but Izuku here saved him. Bakugo came to help seconds later. We tried to beat Nine, but he manipulated the weather and struck us with lightning. He took out the power and defeated us in that fight. My classmates took the rest of the islanders to a warehouse on the island. We recovered thanks to Katsuma and we came up with a plan. We combatted Nine the next day and defeated him, but sadly, we couldn't take him in. The League of Villains found him and killed him. It's my fault that we were unable to imprison him for his crimes. I suspect that it was Tomura Shigaraki that killed him because Nine was turned to dust, but there is a possibility that Dabi did it. He does have a fire quirk after all. That's all that I know," said Joshua.
"That's such an amazing story. I believe that you three will become great heroes," said the female reporter.
"We are also taking the responsibility of teaching the next generation. We're going to start training Katsuma and maybe even his sister next summer," said Izuku.
"You guys are amazing. You're not just becoming heroes, you're also becoming senseis to children who want to become heroes. I'm pretty sure your parents are very proud," said the female reporter.
"Yeah. They probably are," said Joshua hesitatingly.
"That's all the time that we have, but I want to thank U.A for allowing us to interview these inspirational young men. Back to you in the studio Nancy," said the female reporter.
"Can I go now? This is boring," said Bakugo.
"You boys can go. The interview is over," said the female reporter.
The three boys stand up and walk away.
"The world has been crazy over the last month. First, Nabu Island gets attacked by villains. Then, Nine gets killed by the League of Villains. After that, the League of Villains practically destroys Deika City. What is going on?" said Izuku.
"The League of Villains are starting to make moves. We have to stay alert," said Joshua.
"Stay alert? Captain Crusty Lips won't be able to lay a finger on me," said Bakugo.
"You're too cocky," said Joshua.
"I'm not cocky. That guy is absolute fodder," said Bakugo.
"That "absolute fodder" leveled a city. We have to take him seriously," said Izuku.
"You nerds can worry about that guy. Someone of my strength level has nothing to worry about," said Bakugo.
"On a more important note, internships are coming up. Who are you guys interning with?" asked Joshua.
"I can't intern with Gran Torino. He got his license suspended after I decided to help you fight Stain," said Izuku.
"I'm not interning with Best Jeanist. I refuse to look like a geek again," said Bakugo.
"I could intern with Sir Nighteye, but they have no big cases, so it would be useless to go back to his organization," said Joshua.
"Do you guys need someone to intern with?" asked Shoto.
The three boys turn their heads and see Shoto standing to the left of them.
"Shoto, why were you eavesdropping on us?" asked Joshua.
"I wasn't eavesdropping. I just heard that you guys needed somebody to intern under and I decided to butt in," said Shoto.
"Who would want us to intern under them?" asked Izuku.
"My father," said Shoto.
"Why would I intern under your father? I want to grow up to become a good father, not an abusive one," said Joshua.
"He's kind of changing," said Shoto.
"What do you mean by that?" asked Joshua.
"After I got beat by Deku at the sports festival and All Might regained the power that he had in his prime, he started to change. He is acting like a father," said Shoto.
"I don't trust him. He could change at any moment," said Joshua.
"Just give it a chance. You can leave at any time," said Shoto.
"I'll give it a chance," said Izuku.
"If it isn't Best Jeanist, I'm down," said Bakugo.
"If you guys want to go, I'll come with you," said Joshua.
"We should meet up at my dad's office Monday morning. He doesn't like to be bothered on the weekend," said Shoto.
Joshua looks at his watch.
"I'll see you guys Monday. I have to take care of Eri in a few minutes," said Joshua.
Joshua runs to the exit and rushes through the doors.
"If I can get to Endeavor, I will be able to get to Hawks. If Hawks is our inside man, acquiring the information from him is vital. Maybe this internship will be useful to my investigation," thought Joshua.
A couple days pass. Joshua, Shoto, Izuku, and Bakugo walk towards Endeavor's agency. They see Endeavor standing outside of the front door and walk up to him. He smiles.
"Welcome to the Endeavor agency," said Endeavor.
Endeavor's smile quickly fades away.
"That's what I would say if I was in a good mood. The only reason that I permitted you to come intern with me is that Shoto asked," said Endeavor.
"Stop complaining. You said that they could come," said Shoto.
"You're right, Izuku. He is an asshole," said Joshua.
Endeavor's normal expression becomes an annoyed one.
"Are you friends with this boy? I told you to choose your friends wisely," said Endeavor.
"That's ironic. Why would anyone listen to an abusive hardass like you?" said Bakugo.
Endeavor becomes even more annoyed.
"Guys, this is his agency, so we have to be nice. He isn't an asshole or a hardass," said Izuku.
"Thank you, kid. I see that you're the only responsible one-," said Endeavor.
Before Endeavor can finish speaking, Izuku chimes in.
"He's a jackass," said Izuku.
Endeavor becomes angry.
"You know what? I don't have time for this. A villain is attacking the city anyways. If you want to learn something, follow me and see what the number two hero does," said Endeavor.
Endeavor runs around the four boys and jumps over a rail.
"We can't let this fake hero show us up. Let's go," said Joshua.
Joshua opens his briefcase and the parts of his suit attach to him. Izuku opens his briefcase and grabs his new air force gauntlets, Bakugo opens his briefcase and grabs his grenade gauntlets, and Shoto doesn't open his briefcase and runs after his father. Joshua rockets into the sky and follows Endeavor. Izuku and Bakugo follow their other classmates.
"I thought that he would be faster. I can deal with the villain," said Joshua.
Joshua increases his speed and rockets towards the villain at top speed.
"Don't be scared of me, my fellow countrymen! Hades is proud of us all!" exclaimed Starservant.
"If I had a penny for every crazy religious villain I fought, I would be a middle-class citizen," said Joshua.
"Me crazy? No, my fellow human. I just want to praise the holy one," said Starservant.
"Will you stop harassing these working people?" asked Joshua.
"No. These people need to see that they're praising the wrong god," said Starservant.
"I'll take that as a no," said Joshua.
Joshua rockets towards Starservant and charges up one hundred percent in his right gauntlet. He punches Starservant in the face, knocking him out. He grabs Starservant by his collar, preventing him from falling to the ground. Joshua lands on the ground, holding the unconscious body of Starservant in his left hand. Endeavor runs up to him.
"I told you to just watch, not to interfere," said Endeavor.
"This guy would be way too easy for someone as strong as you. You should have just let us deal with him in the first place," said Joshua.
"Fine. Just take him to the police station. It's just a couple blocks away," said Endeavor.
"Hey! Don't forget about these guys," said Hawks.
Endeavor and Joshua look up and see Hawks holding three villains.
"These must have been his lackeys. Take them with you," said Hawks.
"Why can't you transport them to the police station? They're already in your hands," said Joshua.
"Endeavor and I have to talk about pro hero stuff," said Hawks.
Hawks drops the villains on the ground and Joshua runs towards the villains and starts to pick them up.
"Now, Endeavor. Let's talk," said Hawks.
Joshua turns his head and sees the two heroes conversing.
"I have to see what he knows. He may not talk to me, but Shadowstriker may be able to get him to speak," thought Joshua.
