![]() Author has written 8 stories for Pokémon, and Touhou Project. Who am I? I'm an aspiring author with a keen interest in video games and computers. I like to try to write realistically, which means taking into account all available facts and knowledge regarding a particular source. It's something that can be hard to do sometimes, particularly for larger canons. Heck, lately I find myself having trouble keeping my own canons lining up. Still, there's a lot of fun to be had reading and writing fanfiction. When it comes to fanfic rating/plot, I tend to put a higher rating than necessary for reasons relating to the plot as I don't like being restricted by a rating. I prefer to at least try to aim for more realistic scenarios, which means if I have a mean character that hasn't had much of an upbringing, I'd rather not have to clean his speech just because of a K+ rating or whatever. Or if characters mention certain 'ugly' aspects of society. Graphic violence/sexual interactions, however, are still a no. Unless you're actually writing to specifically show those things then there's no reason you can't just hint at something happening and not really going into detail. Like suggesting a serial killer has left their victim's body in quite a mess without actually describing what exactly they did. A wise man once said that if you try to argue gore is necessary to a plot then you're likely to be seen as psychotic. Can't think of much else to say, so we'll get into my current work. Pokemon Legends: A series with a somewhat AU take on the pokemon games themselves, following trainers who are just starting out as they go through the plot of the games themselves. There's a large focus on legendary pokemon, and a group trying to gather them together and keep them away from the kind of people who would seek to abuse their powers. Forum for the series here: http://www.fanfiction.net/forum/Pokemon_Legends_Series/61572/ Honestly, though, I think if I could start this series over I'd do a few things differently. For one thing, most pokemon would be as intelligent as a domesticated dog at best except for a few cases where a pokemon's intelligence level is specifically stated (such as Dragonite being as smart as a human, Alakazam being several times smarter than a human) and probably wouldn't have the main characters catch so many pokemon. I think I just have a bad tendency to give in to a "catch/collect them all" mentality so instead of focusing on a handful of pokemon and trainers, there's a whole bunch. And characters often end up collecting badges just because that's what they do in the game, and to show off those pokemon more. On another note, I'd use a better naming scheme. On yet another note, maybe toy with the idea of using veteran trainers instead of trainers just starting out. Essentially kinda like in the manga where Red already had a Poliwhirl before receiving Bulbasaur as his first pokemon. Current Work: Pokemon Legends: Sinnoh Saga Other Planned Works: Pokemon Legends: Johto Saga (Name may change) - The final arc of the rather length Pokemon Legends series. Follows Crystal and previously introduced OC Angela as they travel across the Johto region and get swept up in the plans of a certain criminal group and discover why some of the most powerful trainers in the world have suddenly gone missing. Potentially calling the saga "Pokemon Legends: Region Zero" Touhoumon: Worlds Collide (Name possibly a placeholder) - I've been wanting to write a touhou fic and thought, "Rather than worry so much about getting the characterization and canon right, why not go with what you know for your first fic?" Touhoumon: Worlds Collide will focus on Red as he sets out in Kanto after obtaining his first puppet. But between prophetic dreams and a strange feeling like he's done it all before, Red starts to wonder if there's more to this world than it seems... |
