Back with Lane, Amaya, and Nate in the JSA training warehouse, they moved the unconscious Obsidian to a couch in the warehouse as he woke up.
"You...you haven't aged a day." Obsidian commented to Amaya.
"It's one of the benefits of time travel." Amaya replied.
"So you left us to join the lovable losers?" Obsidian questioned.
"That's...actually an accurate summary of the team." Lane commented with a shrug.
"I was trying to find Rex's killer." Amaya defended her actions.
"And you never thought to tell me?" Obsidian asked as he stood up.
"I found Rex dying." Amaya stated. "His last words were time travelers. I didn't think, I just acted."
"And then tried to kill us." Lane added on as he leaned on a metal pedestal.
"Really?" Nate asked Lane.
"Hey, I don't hold grudges, I just like to comment on facts." Lane stated.
"What happened to them, Todd?" Amaya asked Obsidian.
"After the war, our friends with the Soviet Union ended, and we continued fighting what was known as the Iron Curtain descended over central and Eastern Europe." Obsidian recapped.
"Does we include my grandfather?" Nate was curious to know.
"Right to the end." Todd confirmed. "In 1956, President Eisenhower sent a team on a mission to Leipzig. They never made it back."
"Why didn't you go?" Lane asked curiously.
"'56 was a charged time, they were concerned I couldn't be trusted." Todd explains.
"Guys, we need you back at the Waverider." They heard the team contact through their comms.
"Rodger." Lane said as he walked off and headed out of the warehouse.
"I promise, Todd, I will fix this." Amaya promised.
"What's done is done, Amaya." Todd tells her.
"Not when you have a time machine. I'm sorry for leaving. I truly am." Amaya promised and then headed out of the warehouse with Lane and Nate.
Waverider
"Rex's killer is here?" Amaya asked after the team filled the three in on what occurred when they were at the White House.
"Potentially, if Damien Darhk and Black Cat are still working with him." Stein says.
"No way, Damien Darhk joined the Reagan Administration as an advisor at the Reykjavik Summit?" Nate asked as he looked at the file on Darhk. "And after the collapse of the summit, Darhk was credited with reviving the disarmament talk?"
"Darhk is a fan of stockpiling nukes, it getting rid of them." Sara commented.
"So this treaty is most likely a cover up." Lane guessed.
"Gideon, where is Damien Darhk now?" Sara asked.
"I'm accessing the calendar on his secretary's IBM personal computer." Gideon tells them.
"Also known as Felicia." Peter muttered to himself.
"Mr. Darhk has a meeting in Georgetown Park at 8:00."
"Late night meeting in the park. Not suspicious at all." Nate stated.
"Peter, you and Mick go and see who he's meeting with and why." Sara tells them and strolls out of the office.
"Guess she doesn't want to go after Darhk." Peter shrugged and saw she was being smart.
Georgetown Park
Peter walked into the truck he and Mick were using for the steak out and climbed inside with a computer.
"Okay. We're ready for audio." Peter called in.
"Great. Now is there any sign of who Darhk's meeting with?" Sara asked.
"Not yet." Mick reported as he was spying on the man with binoculars.
"Wait, I see something." Peter called as they took notice of someone walking up slowly towards Darhk.
"Audio?" Mick asks.
"One step ahead." Peter said as a robotic spider suddenly crawled from his pack and flew towards Mick. Once he turned around, he jumped back and leaned against the door in shock at the sight of a robot spider.
"What the hell is that?" Mick asked as the robot spider flew closer to Mick who tried backing away, but he was already leaning against the door and couldn't go any further.
"His name is Droney." Peter answered.
"I don't like it." Mick stated as the drone just flew closer to him.
"He's cute, isn't he? You can go ahead and pet him." Peter encouraged him.
"Not gonna happen." Mick promised as the drone flew out the open window and made its way towards Darhk.
Once Droney made it to Damien Darhk on the bench, it then gave them video and audio on what's happening.
The man then sat down next to Darhk casually. "Dobriy Vecher, Mr. Darhk."
"Sounds like he's talking to a member of the Soviet delegation, not Rex's killer." Nate informed them.
"The package is procured."
"Excellent news, Boris." Darhk said. "This is your name, isn't it? Boris? Or is it Igor? I find it's always one or the other with you KGB agents. Any who, once the treaty is signed, during the State Dinner, you'll deliver the package."
"And you will uphold your half of the bargain?" Boris asked.
"As agreed." Darhk promised. "To peace between the two nations."
"So Darhk isn't interested in the treaty." Peter realizes.
"He's working a side deal with the KGB." Mick also understood.
"Okay, Droney, come on back." Peter told the drone that then flew back up to them and crawled through the window. "Let's get out of here before they spot us."
Amaya was back on the Waverider and looking at a photo of the JSA while the others were looking for Darhk.
"Gideon, you don't have any idea where he could be?" Lane asked the ceiling.
"Unfortunately, Mr. Evans, I have no intel of his current whereabouts." Gideon tells them.
"Okay, so we don't know where to find him?" Sara asked the room.
"Well, actually, his little deal with the Soviet's is still going down at the State Dinner tomorrow." Nate reminded them.
"Which is probably going to be the most heavily guarded dinner in history." Stein broke to him.
"Well, it's a good thing we already have someone who can shrink, and another that can break into the Pentagon like it was nothing." Sara commented as she looked to Ray and Peter as he and Mick returned.
"What did I just volunteer for?" Peter asked as he already recognized the voluntary look Sara has.
"We might have someone that can help with this." Amaya offered.
"Who?" Jax asks.
"One of Amaya's old JSA buddies." Nate explained. "And by old, I mean old."
"He may still have a few government contacts we could exploit." Amaya says.
"Go check up on it, see if he can." Sara guesses.
"Absolutely not." Obsidian tells the three of them the second they returned and asked for help.
"Whatever Darhk is planning to exchange with the Soviet's, it can't be good." Amaya tried to persuade him to help.
"Well, I'll contact the FBI. You don't have to worry about it." Obsidian stated.
"Yeah, we're dealing with time travel." Lane informed the old man. "Darhk's working alongside a cat burglar and someone who can time travel. The FBI can't handle that." He then turned to Nate. "What's the FBI?"
"How do you not know?" Nate asks.
"I spent my life in space, and then defending the earth. Then I was shot onto the sea on a boat." Lane informed him."
"After this, we need to hang out a little." Nate stated, wanting to know more.
"I believe this time traveler killed Rex." Amaya stated to Obsidian.
"All the more reason to stay clear of that State Dinner. You can't remain professional." Obsidian tells Amaya.
"Are you kidding? She's been nothing but professional." Nate informed him. "She's all about being professional."
"Yeah, it's cramping our style on the ship." Lane admitted, liking the ship when it's freer spirited without Amaya. "The only way I'd see this woman not being professional- oh god, you and Hourman were together!" He suddenly understands as he looked to face Amaya with a hypocritical face.
"No!" Amaya stated as Nate looked to Obsidian.
"No...Were they?" Nate asked. "That makes so much sense!"
"We weren't together." Amaya denied. "Fraternization among teammates is unprofessional." She then sighed and they knew that there was nothing she could say to make them think otherwise and decided to tell them. "Rex and I were going to leave the JSA after the war, try and start a new life, together, and that's why I left the team."
"And this is why I'm reluctant to help you." Obsidian stated. "Because your emotions are clouding your judgment."
"Hey, man, I've been where she is." Lane informed the guy. "I've lost so many friends, only for them to come back to life, it's not even funny. Except for Hunter Watters, but we don't talk about him. I know how that can cloud your judgment. Trust me, my buddy doomed our world because of his grief; but she's not going up against him alone. Help us, Obsidian, you're our only hope."
"Did you quote Star Wars?" Nate asked him.
"One of these days, I'm gonna watch those movies." Lane muttered to himself.
Obsidian thought and saw they need some form of help. "I might be able to get you a few invites, but no promises."
Later on, the team were all dressed up for the dinner and made their way inside of the dinner hall.
"I don't see Damien Darhk anywhere." Sara said after surveying the room.
"He'll be here." Nate promised.
Ray was currently the only one who was not dressed and was flying around the room, looking around for Darhk.
Peter was just waiting for something to set his senses off. Then he saw something that sent him in shock.
It was Felicia Hardy, with her hair down and wearing an elegant black dress when she noticed Peter and sported a coy smile and approached him.
"Oh, boy..." Peter whispered to himself.
"Everything all right, Peter?" Sara asked.
"Depending on what's about to happen." Peter whispered into comms as Ray was watching from afar as Felicia approached. "What are you doing here, Felicia?"
"What? A girl can't take the night off?" Felicia asks him. "Besides, I knew you'd be here." She stated as she picked up a glass and drank from it. "I didn't come for a fight."
"Then what are you here for?" Peter asked.
"For you." Felicia stated and grabbed his hand. "May I have a dance?"
"You're kidding." Peter scoffed when Felicia just dragged him off, Peter not wanting to cause a scene and blow the mission.
"Uh...did Peter just get a date?" Sara asked as she watched Felicia drag Peter to the dance floor.
"It looks like he did." Ray stated.
Sara looks very confused as she watched as Peter and Felicia began to slowly dance around. "Okay, let's just leave those two for now, and just focus on the mission. Just in case, Jax, Lane, keep an eye on him."
"I'm keeping both eyes on the two." Lane promises, keeping his hand clear to grab his blaster.
Sara then turned her attention over to Amaya. "When you find Rex's killer, what are you gonna do to him?"
"Arrest him. What else is there?" Amaya asks.
"You could kill him." Sara stated.
"I'm a member of the Justice Society, or at least I was when it existed, I'm not some vigilante." Amaya stated.
Back with Peter and Felicia, they were dancing along and were just staring at one another as Felicia dragger her right hand up to his cheek and tapped his ear light enough he didn't notice she turned off his commlink.
"I've missed you." Felicia tells Peter.
"What, missed someone to flirt with when you were stealing things?" Peter asks.
"I missed a lot of things, but those were just cherries on top." Felicia admits. "Listen...you need to get out of here."
"Why?" Peter asked, not following why.
"Because who I'm working with is completely insane. And he has it out for you." Felicia informed him.
While they were talking, Nate was watching with Mick when they noticed Darhk was outside the hall. "Sara. Darhk's in the hallway."
Sara looked and saw that he was indeed there and saw it was time to act. "Mick, Lane, guard the exits. And everyone else, get ready to move."
Darhk made his way to the basement and was talking to his associates about what was about to happen.
"Now that our governments are waging peace upstairs, what do you saw we get to the real business?" Darhk asks.
"You have brought us the codes?" Vecher replies.
Darhk then pulled out a blank DVD in a case. "It's called a CD-ROM, the latest in Defense Department technology." Darhk tells them. "As for my half of the exchange?"
Vecher then took out a small case from his jacket just as Ray comes flying in and lands on a shelf.
"Guys, Darhk was given something from his new Russian friends." Ray warned them as Darhk opened the small case and laughed.
"Hand over the box." Sara demanded, getting the attention on both sides of the room as they saw Nate, Sara, Obsidian, Firestorm, and Amaya, quickly joined by Ray.
"And the kick-ass CD-ROM." Nate demanded.
Darhk looks shocked as did Vecher. "What is this? He's trying to double-cross us!" He and all of his men then aimed their weapons all around the room at one another.
"No one has to get hurt." Amaya tried to calm things down.
"That's not really my style." Dark stated with a smile. "Now, we can waste time chit-chatting, or you can deal with the explosive my people have secreted inside the State Dining Room. In six minutes, Reagan, Gorbachev, and every hope of peace goes kaboom."
"Lane?" Sara asked into comms.
"I'm on it." Lane promises.
"I'm sorry, inconvenient. I know but try being me." Darhk stated as he pulled out a gun and shot Vecher. That causes the room to erupt into a fight from all three sides all trying to take the other down.
Peter suddenly feels his senses going off and knew that something was wrong and felt his ear to realize his comms was off. Looking down at Felicia, he saw a worried look on her face.
"What did you just do?" Peter asked her.
"See you around." Felicia said and looked away, causing Peter to turn around and see what she was looking at only to see it was Lane and Mick aiming their weapons at the people in the room.
"Everyone. Get the hell out of here right now." Mick demanded, causing Peter to look back and see Felicia already slipped away.
"Now that we have your attention, we would like to inform you that there's a bomb on the premises." Lane tells everyone, causing everyone to scream and race out of the room. "I used to do this thing for a living. Except it's usually me who planted the bomb."
Peter quickly grabbed into his pocket and released Droney again to sniff out the bomb. "Droney?"
Droney then flew around the room before crawling onto a table where they see that the bomb was.
Quickly turning it over, Peter got quick to work on it. "Okay, so, we've got a problem. This bomb has an obsolete firing system. I can't disarm it."
Sara was running down in the basement, looking for Darhk and fighting off his men.
"Well, figure it out!" Sara demanded as she leaped and kicked the man in the face using her shoes and spinning him down.
Peter thinks for a minute before looking down at his web shooters and came up with an idea.
"I've got it." Peter whispered as he removed one of them and then clogged it out and placing it inside of the bomb. "The web shooter will explode, and all of the chemicals inside of them will freeze the circuits."
"How long will that take?" Lane asks just as the shooter explodes and the timer stops. "Never mind."
"I didn't graduate MIT for nothing." Peter stated with a smile, now wondering about what Felicia said about this time traveler having it out for him.
Darhk opened fire on Obsidian which didn't hurt or even touch him as Amaya came in to help but ended up making things worse. Because the moment she came into view, Darhk turned and shot at her, causing Obsidian to jump in the way and take the bullet.
Sara then came in and threw an shuriken into his hand. "Peter?"
"Bomb's been taken care of." Peter confirmed.
Amaya stayed with Obsidian as he died, and Sara approached Darhk.
"You and I have met before." Darhk realizes. "New York, 1942. You haven't aged a day. Lazarus Pit?"
Sara doesn't answer and stops just a few feet ahead of him and looked at him, ready to kill.
"Oh, woman of mystery." Darhk joked and saw her face. "I know that look in your eye, though. That's the look of someone that I've taken everything from."
"Not everything." Sara replied. "You haven't taken my soul, which I've already lost, and I'm not eager to do again. And that's why I'm sparring your life." She said as she took a few steps forward.
"How merciful of you." Darhk scoffed.
"I'm sparring you to prolong your suffering." Sara stated. "'Cause I'm from the future, Damien, and I know how this all ends. Your ark, your grand vision. Just as you're about to accomplish everything you desire; your wife is murdered. And in total despair, you try and kill your own daughter." She finally comes face to face, just centimeters away from Darhk's face as she saw him become shocked/afraid at her words.
Just then, there was a flash of lightning that took Darhk and vanished just as Ray came over and grew. "Where's Darhk?"
"The time traveler working against us...he's a speedster." Sara tells him.
"Like the Flash and Quicksilver?" Ray asks, remembering all of the other heroes who could run fast during Battleworld.
"Faster." Sara stated.
"So, a speedster, Darhk, and the Black Cat are all working together and now have whatever the KGB gave them?" Ray asks.
"Unless..." Dark raises her hand to reveal she stole the case. "I swiped it off Darhk."
Waverider
Luckily Obsidian was given help by Gideon and would live to fight another day and was sent back to his place.
But the rest of the Legends know that this war isn't over yet. They need to learn exactly who this new speedster is and where he came from.
