"This whole Capone aberration was a distraction." Nate said in anger when they returned to the Waverider after losing Sara and Peter to the speedster. "Darhk and his speedster pal knew it'd grab our attention."
Jax then walked in with a gigantic container over his shoulder.
"But why would he go for Sara and Peter?" Lane asked, angry at himself for walking into a trap like that. "I mean, out of all of us?"
"Still trying to work that out." Ray said, but a piece of information coming to light. "But Peter did say Black Cat warned him this Speedster has a vendetta against him."
"Great. Spider-Man has an enemy. That narrows it down." Jax said as he opened the case.
"What's that?" Nate asked Jax, pointing to the box.
"Long story short. Rip had a secret armory. Me, Lane, and Stein found it alongside a message from Director Parker from Earth-616, warning that a war was coming." Jax spilled the beans on them and revealed a speedster gun.
"I'm sorry, a what?" Amaya asked him.
"Uh...let's focus on the problem at hand." Stein asked of them.
"Fine, but we will be discussing it later." Amaya promised the three.
"What'd I do?" Lane asked, unsure how this was turned on him.
"And while that's all well and good, we still need to get Capone's ledger back, otherwise history's screwed." Nate warned the team.
"Since your last plan was a total bust, I suggest somebody else do the strategic thinking." Ray stated, suddenly becoming high and mighty of himself.
"And let me guess? That'd be you?" Nate took an easy guess. "All right, what's your brilliant idea?"
Ray stood silent for a second and had nothing to offer. "Well, I don't have one, but it's gonna be better than yours."
"Enough!" Mick cried from his seat, having enough of all of their arguing. "If you wanna nail Capone and Rex's killer, rescue the kid and Captain, then you can't do it by playing Boy Scout or historian or policeman. It's time to do it mine and Evans' way. Like a criminal."
"I like what he's thinking." Lane said with a wicked grin.
Sara began to wake up and saw she was tied to a chair and looked to her right where she saw that Peter was handcuffed with some glowing cuffs.
"Don't ask." Peter asked of her. "Seem to be some sort of power dampening cuffs. From the looks of the tech, I'd say from either Earth's 616 or Prime."
"How'd we get here?" Sara asked as she scouted out the area they were in.
"Seems our dimension traveling speedster got the best of us." Peter said with a sigh. "And I think I got jet leg from that electricity he sparks."
"He wasn't working alone." Sara guessed.
"Yep. Felicia Hardy and Damien Darhk, those two are becoming a constant thorn in the back now working with Al." Peter said with a sigh.
Sara froze and thought about what he said. "I think you're mixing up your metaphors, but I get what you're saying."
The doors then opened and they saw a new face entering the room. "And don't forget about me. It's been a long time, Sara."
"You...know this guy?" Peter asked Sara.
"Malcom Merlyn." Sara snarled in anger. "Why am I not surprised that you and Damien Darhk would find each other?"
"What do you want, cuckoo?" Peter asked him.
"You have something we need," Malcom said as he circled the two of them. "And while my partners think I'm a fool for trying, I would like to broker a deal with you. You have in your possession an amulet."
"Buddy, there ain't a thing in the world that you can offer that we will give you a something you want." Peter stated.
"Well, I wasn't talking to you, Parker. I was talking to Sara." Malcom said as he looked at Sara. "Give us what we want, and I can give you your life back. I can alter it so you never got onto that boat."
"If you're gonna change history, why not just do that than bribe us with time travel?" Peter asked, not understanding why he's doing that.
"Because Malcom's just his errand boy, sent to retrieve the amulet." Sara saw straight through the act. "Why is it so important?"
"What does it matter?" Malcom asked. "I'm offering you the chance to live a normal life."
"No, thank you." Sara stated. "I was never meant for those things. And besides, you can't just go back and change things like that."
"Why not?" Malcom asked.
"Because time is sacred, and it can't be used to change someone's life for personal reasons." Sara stated and Malcom saw he wasn't gonna get anywhere and leaves. "I'll take a nightmare that's real over a dream that's a lie any day."
Malcom then left and closed the door behind him.
"Great work." Peter congratulated her.
"I honestly can't believe he'd thought I'd do something like that." Sara scoffed at the thought of it, whilst Peter grew more and more conscious about his actions. Technically they were Snart's. But he had a hand in playing.
"You weren't even tempted?" Peter asked her.
"Of course I was." Sara stated. "But we can't let a man like that change history. Imagine the havoc that it would cause."
"Yeah, I agree. I saw Back to the Future Part ll." Peter said playfully. "Even the slightest of changes can wreak havoc on time."
That seemed to be a little too much and Sara turned to face him the best she could. "What do you mean? Peter. You've been acting strange ever since Battleworld. Now that I think about it, even longer beforehand. What's been going on with you?"
Peter sighed and finally decided to confess. Ironic, considering that they're actually faced like it's a confession.
"It was...it wasn't my fault." Peter gave up and began to break down a little. "I didn't think he'd actually do something like this. I'd never thought he'd do something like this."
"He?" Sara asked, not following. "Who's he?"
"Snart." Peter confesses. "When we saved my father, I said farewell. Thinking I'd never see him again...but Snart didn't make him take the amnesia pill."
"Well, him having knowledge of his future son he already had shouldn't have had a big effect." Sara guessed.
"He's alive." Peter finally confessed, shocking Sara. "As well as my mother. Snart warned him to not get on the plane that would take their lives. And now...I have a sister."
"A what?" Sara asked in complete shock.
"A young, smart, psychotic...amazing sister." Peter said with a smile when Sara groaned.
"And not real!" Sara informed him.
"She's real to me!" Peter screamed back, a little offended to hear that about his sister. "Every memory I have of her is real. The nights I'd babysit her for my parents so they could go out for the night. The way I thought I'd explode when I saw her for the first time. The time that she got into a fight with a teacher for correcting her on a mathematical error." The more he talked about her, the more his smile grew. "I...I love her."
"But none of that happened to you, Peter." Sara stated.
"But it did." Peter stated to her. "Even Felicia has come from this new timeline. Once, she was just some thief who fed me once in a while. Now...she was my high school crush. Which is ironic because I graduated high school early."
Sara groaned and leaned her head back, no idea what she can do now as it seems history is already too far gone to fix with all of these variables.
"Peter, we can't just change things for our personal lives." Sara stated and before Peter could respond, the door opened and Darhk is back.
"I understand Malcom tried to act nice and offer you a deal." Darhk said as he walked around menacingly. "Since you didn't bite, we're gonna have to be a little rougher."
"Do your worst." Sara dared him.
"Oh, you didn't think that I meant you?" Darhk asked in confusion. "Oh. I fear with your league training torture, while fun, would be a waste of time."
That sparked fear in both Legends as two guys walked over and began to push Peter's chair that apparently had wheels on it.
"Well, now I feel like an idiot." Peter commented, trying to make lite of the situation. "Sara! Now would be the perfect time for your escape attempts!"
"Hang on, Peter!" Sara said as she tried to break free.
Peter was then dragged across the building where he was released from the cuffs and thrown into a room with a figure standing in the light at the end.
"Peter Parker." The figure said as he marched over towards Peter. "No matter what universe I travel to, you always seem to find a way to follow me."
"Uh..." Peter was very confused about what he was saying. "Do I know you?"
"Let's just say...it's complicated." He said as he marched towards Peter who's handcuffs became magnetic and slammed his arms into the pipes on the ceiling.
"Oh, you're kidding me!" Peter cried as he tried to rip his arms free.
Eobard Thawne then walked over and revealed a device that looked like a lighter. "I'm not gonna lie, this toy usually leaves the subject dead. But in your case, I believe that all you'll feel is a little pain. In theory."
Peter tried to fight back when Thawne used his speed and stabbed him in the shoulder, causing him to let out an ear piercing cry.
Down the hall, Sara heard the screams and never heard Peter scream like that before and knew whatever it was, it was gruesome.
On the street to the spot, a truck was driving there when they saw a figure in the road and revealed to be Amaya who shot to the sky, getting their attention just for Lane and Mick to come in to shoot the gunners.
The car then came to a stop and the two drivers were scared out of their mind.
"Hi, I'm Luke, that's Han and Leila." Mick said as he approached the driver door. "Get out of the truck."
"So you know who you're stealing from?" They asked the crew.
"Yeah. Now where's this thing headed?" Mick asked.
"31st and Fort Dearborn drive." He answered.
"Thanks." Lane said then shot the guy with the stun setting before climbing in the car with the others.
"Aren't you guys forgetting something?" Amaya asked when Mick starts the truck up. "Nate, Jax, and Ray?" She gestured to where they were outside the truck.
"Those idiots have done nothing but get in our way." Mick stated.
"Uh, guys, we're standing here." Ray informed him.
"Just get in the back." Lane tells them, placing his hand out the window and pointing his thumb to the back of the truck compartment.
They did just that and begin to make their way towards where they're holding Sara and Peter.
