Peter was back in his room, talking over the tablet in the wall what has gone down on his most recent mission to his family who were doing their weekly update.
"...and then apparently Black Cat saved my life." Peter finished as he was working on some new gadgets and looked over to the tablet and saw Teresa was smiling at him with her gummy smile. She was now about six months old and started gumming.
"Ugh, I can't believe she's back in your life." Mary scoffed, in this reality Peter's mom was less than thrilled that her son was seeing someone he only knew through a mask. Even when he convinced Felicia to reveal her identity and he revealed his in return, she still wasn't convinced. Turns out she was right.
"I don't know, to me it sorta sounds like she's a double agent." Richard told his wife. "She warns the team that you were still captured, warned them that her boss snuck aboard, and then she saved your life."
There was then a knock on his door, and before Peter could hang up, the doors opened and revealed to be only Sara.
"Hey, Nate says he found something about the artifacts that Merlyn and Darhk nicked off of us. Wants to see us." Sara informed him.
"Great, be right there." Peter said as he gestured down to the table. "Should finish soldering this unless we want my room to catch fire."
"Good idea." Sara said sarcastically, but he could tell it was just a joke. That's when she looked over and saw the family on the tablet. "Oh, hey, Mr. and Mrs. Parker."
"Please, dear, Richard and Mary is fine." Mary promised as Teresa seems to have been insulted that she wasn't mentioned and squealed out.
"And you must be little Ms. Teresa Parker." Sara said in a baby voice to the baby who laughed at the silliness in her tone. "Oh, you look just like your brother."
"Okay, as you heard, I need to get going." Peter said to his folks as he finished soldering. "Talk to you guys later."
"See ya, honey." Mary said as she looked down to Teresa with a smile. "Say bye-bye to your brother!"
Teresa muttered something that Peter took as a farewell. "See you soon, guys." He then hanged up and smiled as he looked over to Sara who has a smile. "Thanks for not telling the others about them."
"Your secret. Tell them when you're ready for them to know." Sara said as the two of them left the quarters and went to the main office of the ship.
"Longinus us the name generally associated with the Roman Centurion who pierced the side of Christ during her Crucification." Nate explained to the rest of the team, who were all a little bit tired. Everyone except for Mick and Stein were there, as the two of them are who-knows-where right now.
"Yeah, he was blind and got the blood of Jesus in his eyes, and then he could see again." Jax stated, half sleeping on the desk.
"Look at you." Nate was thoroughly impressed by his knowledge.
"What? I went to Sunday school." Jax shrugged off why he, a mechanic, would know that.
"Now that blood allegedly got on the medallion and empowered it and the speed with magical powers." Nate stated as he circled the room.
"Sorta sounds like the Omega Stone." Lane commented.
"The what?" Mick asked.
"Omega Stone." Lane repeated before explaining. "On my Earth, before Crisis and Battleworld, there were these things called Infinity Stones, and they were the most powerful things in existence. They controlled time, reality, space, mind, power, even soul. Later on, they were fused and created into one and Ultron tried to use it to destroy the multiverse. That didn't exactly end well for us as when we got it away from him, all of its powers were drained. It turned out later that Malkin took the powers from the stone, and you met her back on Battleworld."
"She was the one wearing Alice's dead body as a body?" Sara remembered their weird enemy.
"Yeah, she's sadly not the weirdest of our enemies." Lane confessed with a sigh.
"Well, why does the Legion of Doom want the medallion?" Ray asked, getting the conversation back on track, and getting confused looks from the others by the namedrop.
"Legion of Doom?" Sara asked.
"Yeah." "Don't ask." Ray and Nate say at the same time.
"According to legend, the medallion calls for the spear and basically takes you right to it." Nate explains how the medallion works and what it does. "The spear is also known as the Holy Lance of the Spear of Destiny."
"Okay, hold on." Sara wanted him to slow down, loosing track pretty fast. "This is all staring to sound like an Indiana Jones movie."
"Raiders of the lost ark is the reason I became a historian." Nate mentioned.
Suddenly Lane shivered like the temperature just dropped.
"You alright?" Amaya asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Felt like a shiver went up my spine when they mentioned Indiana Jones." Lane explained San rubbed his shoulder.
"Okay, so the Legion wanted the medallion to find the spear?" Jax clarified.
"But what do they want the spear for?" Amaya wondered.
"The spear, allegedly has the power to rewrite reality." Nate explained to them.
"But how's that different from just time traveling and making changes?" Peter wondered.
"Changes to history cause timequakes and aberrations, things we can fix. Changes to reality, however, those are permanent."
That caused the crew to become afraid of what the Legion will do with that type of power.
"And I just handed them over the medallion." Sara said in anger at herself.
"To save Peter's life." Jax defended. "Anyone of us would've made that call."
"Would Rio?" Sara asked.
"If what happened on that parallel universe was any indication, no." Peter commented, thinking of when they were stranded on that apocalyptic world.
Before they could get into that conversation, there was a bleep on their screens and they walked over to see it was another message.
"Los Angeles, 1967. Going to the big times, see you there." And just like before, there was only a small emoji of a black cat to show who sent it.
"Los Angeles?" Ray questioned.
"Why are they heading to L.A.?" Sara wondered.
"Maybe they got the medallion working?"
"So, why would the spear be hiding in L.A.?" Jax asked.
"The spear is a film lover." Lane guessed with a shrug.
"Hod do we know we can trust this?" Amaya wondered. "Black Cat is a criminal, and we're going to follow every message she sends us?"
That's when they got an alert and Gideon showed there were a few bikers that were attacked and left for dead in an alley.
"Wait, that's Cal DeVito." Nate recognized him. "He's supposed to invent a new bar hero for shovelhead motorcycles."
"Killed by sezuki strikes to the xiphoid process of his sternum." Sara recognized on the autopsy report. "A League of Assassins technique."
"Darhk and Merlyn were both Ex-members." Peter was shocked to see Felicia wasn't leading them down a dead end but was actually helping.
"They must be getting closer to the Holy Lance." Sara said to the others.
"I like Spear of Destiny better." Lane admitted.
"I prefer Holy Lance." Sara stated as she walked off.
"No idea why that is." Peter muttered with a smug smile as she walked past.
"Gideon, plot a course." Sara asked their trustful A.I.
"Already have, Captain. Hollywood, 1967."
1967, Hollywood
The team were tracking down the path on where the Legion would've gone whilst Mick and Stein were still absent.
"Is the professor all right?" Amaya asked Jax.
"Uh, depends on what you mean by all right." Jax stated. "He's helping Mick with something, they're both being quiet about it."
"Yeah, I've noticed something's been going on with Mick recently." Peter commented, wondering what's wrong with his friend.
"Well, I hope he figure it out soon, if the Legion is here, then we could use Heatwave and Firestorm." Ray stated.
"Let's figure out what's going on first." Sara stated as they walked into a parking lot.
"Gideon said the stolen motorcycles were brought here." Peter said as he gestured over to the motorcycles that were parked.
"So, we're supposed to just walk until we see a sign that says this way?" Jax asked them.
"How about that sign?" Lane asked, getting everyone's attention as they looked and saw where he was looming and it was a sign that read: LEGENDS THIS WAY.
"That's convenient." Peter commented.
They all followed the sign and were shocked when they came across Merlyn, Darhk, and Felicia talking to Rip Hunter himself.
"Oh my god." Sara said in shock.
"It's Rip?" Lane asked in shock.
"Don't worry, we got you, Rip." Ray promised as they all got ready for a fight.
"Who the hell are you guys?" Rip asked the Legends as Darhk immediately opened fire on the team as they all separated and ducked for cover.
Lane immediately found cover before he retaliated and shot back with his own pistol. "You shoot like a Stormtrooper, you know that?"
"Oh, and you would know, wouldn't you?" Darhk asked as he kept shooting.
Peter then came and was gonna get involved when he was tackled by Felicia back on the ground.
"Nice to see you recovered." Felicia said as she reached down and pecked his nose. "I was worried I'd have to break the rules of Back to the future and mess with events I participated in."
"You know, this whole thing with you playing both sides isn't gonna end well for one of our sides." Peter informed her. "One side has to loose."
"And when your side starts to win, I'll be ready to transfer over to your side." Felicia whispered into his ear when they started to hear sirens and looked to see the police approaching.
"Fall back!" Sara cried and saw Felicia holding Peter down, and they both knew what she had to do.
Quickly, Sara took a bar and tossed it to Felicia who tried to dodge it, only to be smacked by it and both sides retreated. As both sides left, Rip was left behind and arrested by the police.
