The group, or what was left of it, waited inside for the others to show up. Clementine had managed to calm herself down after Carlos told her what really happened in the truck.

Needless to say, she made a mistake. The child took away Carlos's daughter forever, for no reason at all. She had assumed they all abandoned her and in her fit of rage, she had murdered Sarah. Now they were all waiting inside the rest stop for the others to show up.

Sarita was still gone and Sarah was dead, most likely already reanimated as a walker now. That baby was probably dead... so that's some good news at least. Carlos was understandably stressed out, he thought his daughter was still out there, trying to survive when really, she was as dead as the walkers.

Clementine stood by the corner while the two adults talked amongst each other. She wouldn't dare say anything about Sarah, no way. Nope, there was absolutely no way she was going to. After killing Sarah, Carlos was dead. He wasn't going to hear her out, she was the only thing he had left in this world and that she was gone, he had nothing left to lose. The baby was gone and Sarah was gone. He had nothing left to look forward to.

The only thing Clementine could do was play dumb and act like she didn't know what happened to Sarah.

"Goddammit!" Carlos exclaimed, walking around the room and looking outside the windows. "Where is she!?"

"Ah dunno, just wait. They'll turn up eventually!" Kenny responded.

"For how long!? We've been sitting here for an hour now and you're telling me to wait!?"

"Well, that's the only thing that we CAN do! Is sit 'ere and wait! If you got any suggestions, ah'm open!"

Carlos paused for a second. "Yes... yes, I have a suggestion. I go out and I look for them!"

"Or you can go out and get yourself killed! Trust me, there ain't nothin' else we can do!"

Carlos paused before he made a dash for the doors. He slammed them open and began calling out for Sarah.

"Oh fuck." Kenny then ran after him, leaving Clementine behind. She watched them for a moment. Kenny had caught up with him and they began talking. The child couldn't hear what they were saying, the blizzard and their distance masked their voices.

After a few moments of watching the two men talk, Kenny came running back to the rest stop. He approached the child. "Hey Clem, ah need you to stay put alright?"

"Where are you going? Are you leaving?" She questioned with a frown.

"Yeah, just a for a little bit. We're gon' to go look for Sarita and Sarah." That's wonderful. She was going to have to spend a little more time on her own which was fine. It would give her more time to figure out what to do.

Clementine sighed. "Alright, fine. Go look for 'em then. I'll wait here." She finished, staring at the floor.

He layed a gentle hand on the child's shoulder. "We'll be back as soon as possible." And with that, he left the rest stop to join Carlos.

There, the eleven year old girl stood... alone. With nobody keeping her company, no walkers this time. No, this time it was just her. At least she had time to think now, she had complete control of the situation...

She could slip away? That was a sensible option, an option had been at the back of her mind for a while now. This group was dying, it was down to three in total. Scratch that, two. Sarita was still gone, she could be dead just like Sarah right now.

Clementine didn't know if Kenny or Carlos would ever stop looking for them. Sarah was the only thing Carlos had. The child was certain that he didn't care much about her. Kenny did but she still couldn't shake away the option to leave. It was egging her on as if it were taunting her. Gnawing at her.

She couldn't leave Ken though. His loyalty and friendship meant too much to her, the thought of leaving him out of the blue, just completely vanishing without an explanation felt like a punch to the gut.

Now that she thought about it... he was really the only thing that was keeping her from leaving. If it wasn't for him, she probably would've left by now. Would have left Carlos behind, Sarah, Sarita or even Mike. She didn't care about them like she did with Kenny, he wasn't afraid of her like they were. With him, she felt loved and cared for but the group? All they did was neglect her.

She sighed. That option to leave was still there. Let's just say that came back back then what? Go to Wellington? Clementine didn't want to go to Wellington, she wanted to back to the cabin where everything was perfect until Carver came along and ruined everything... literally everything.

"Hi Clementine." Startled, she turned around...

it was Sarah. she stood there covered in the bullet wounds Clementine had made. This was different, all the others were perfectly unharmed but Sarah looked like she had just been shot.

"Sarah?" She frowned.

The teen nodded before she sat down against the wall, patting the space down beside her.

Clementine took a moment before she walked over and sat down next to her dead friend.

"Are you okay?" Sarah inquired, looking at the younger girl.

"Are you okay?" She retorted, gesturing to the bloody wounds on her torso.

The teen frowned. "What?" She glanced down at it before looking back at her. "Oh, it's okay. It doesn't hurt anymore."

Clementine felt a pang in her chest. "I'm sorry Sarah."

"Hmm?"

"I'm sorry for what I did to you... I-It... was an accident." The child felt tears beginning to well up in her eye.

The teen took a moment to respond, she saw the tears in brimming on the edge of her eyelid. "I know a-and it's okay."

The child immediately shook her head. "No it's not, no it's not okay. I-I-I killed you... for nothing!"

"B-but... you killed before though?"

"N-no-no, that was different! The others deserved that."

"T-then why would you shoot me?" Sarah inquired.

"...Because I-I thought you... left me behind." She continued when the teen stayed quiet. "Y-you... weren't talking to me a-and when Mike drove away I-I-I... I was angry."

"I should be the one apologizing... not you." Clementine frowned but waited for her to continue. "I-I wasn't a good friend to you for those last... couple of days. I should've been better but... I ignored you." Sarah looked down, the bullet wounds still on her torso. "I-I'm... I'm sorry Clementine. I'm so so sorry."

Clementine slowly leaned into the teen, her arms wrapping around her friend's shoulders and closed her eyes. The bullet wounds, the blood on Sarah's clothing... it wasn't horrifying to look at. To know that she was the catalyst for that.

The child woke up inside her tree house. She went outside, stunned at how everything looked so... barren. Wilted twigs, dead leaves, a colorless sky. One would've mistaken it for a painting.

She climbed down, listening to the silence. Mere silence. There was no sound of nature, no birds chirping, no wind. It was dead silent, Clementine could almost hear her heartbeat.

"Howdy Clementine." Her eyes widened before her face formed into a scowl, anger filling her veins. She knew exactly who that was by the voice alone.

She turned, staring into Carver's eyes. "What are you doing here?" She inquired, voiced laced with poisonous venom.

"Settle down now, I only wanted to visit." She watched as the man casually walked around her yard. A place he had no right to be in! "This is a nice place. You must have a knack for finding good things huh?"

"SHUT UP!" The smug attitude of this man..."Now is this how you treat your guests?" He folded his arms aiming a smile at her.

She didn't respond, she looked around her yard for the sharpest thing she could find. Her eyes layed upon a pair of large rusty shears by set up against her fence. She ran over to it and picked it up.

"Now, what are you gonna do with that?"

She launched into the man's abdomen, shears went inside halfway. He let out a painful grunt before he fell backwards. Clementine didn't wait, she pulled them out before shoving them back in repeating the same cycle.

Panting, she fell onto her backside, dropping the shears. Carver's body had been reduced to mince meat by the time she was done with him.

"Good thing this is a dream." She snapped back behind her to find Carver staring down at her with the same smug smile. "Otherwise, I'd be dead."

"You ARE dead and you'll die over and over again until I'm happy!" That was when he lost his smile, his body posture immediately changed after that. "You think you can come here and laugh at me!? Tease me!?" Somewhere nearby, a flame had suddenly lit and it began to spread; going from the backyard to the house.

She got up, taking the gunk covered shears along with her. She began walking over to Carver. "This is my house... Carver."
