TEN YEARS AGO, IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE:
Ami Han was currently five years old, and was as of right now, being taken by her mother to a secret bunker in the woods. Once they arrived to it, her parents placed her inside of it.
"Don't come out until we come to get you. You understand?" Her mother asked her.
"Yes, dad." Ami promised.
Her mother then reached down and caressed her face. "Remember, what we're doing, we're doing it to protect you. Please tell me you understand."
"I understand, mommy." Ami promised.
"That's my brave little girl." Her mother said as she then opened the door to the bunker and allowed Ami to climb inside.
Once Ami was safely secured inside, she closed the bunker and covered it with the surrounding branches and leaves and then morphed into her Samjokgu form where she dug up some dirt to cover it as best she could.
There were enough supplies in there that Ami could survive in there for years, and she can leave at any time. She then transformed back into her human form before reaching into her clothing and pulled out a diamond.
This is what they were after. And she knew it.
She began to walk forward, accepting that this was her fate and she began to sniff out the air, searching for her Hunter. She then felt something coming at her and ducked just to dodge a blast of ice and then turned to face Icicle.
"You're a hard woman to find, Maris." Icicle informed her as he walked over.
Maris then looked around and saw that Sportsmaster and Tigress were right alongside him. "I enjoy the simple life."
"Really? A woman of your talents?" Icicle asked her.
"It's a peaceful life. Better than luring men out here to feast on their hearts." Maris stated as she was looking for any way she could get out of here.
"And lonely, I would imagine." Icicle said sincerely.
"What is it you want, Icicle?" Maris asked Icicle.
"We need you to come with us." Icicle said. "We come in peace."
"And them?" Maris asked as she looked over to the husband and wife.
"Security. To make sure you play nice." Icicle explained.
"I know why they're really here." Maris scoffed. "My people have protected the Black Diamond for generations. We might've died off, but I still promise to protect it."
Icicle sighed and guessed that would have been her answer. "I wish it didn't have to be this way." He then raised his hands and blasted a powerful mist of ice just as Maris transformed and leaped out of the way of it.
But that was what they were expecting her to do and she was then shot at with a hockey puck by Sportsmaster and Tigress then finished her off with a shot to the head.
"Pity. She had so much potential." Icicle said as he walked over to her and created an icicle he used to stab her with and then pulled the diamond out of her. "There you are..."
Meanwhile, Ami waited down in the bunker for a while before coming out and looking to see her mother had been shot and let out an ear piercing scream as she ran over, morphing into her own Samjokgu form.
Her form was an all-white fur, unlike her mother who had an all raven black fur. She then howled into the night, tears falling down her face and curled up with her mother.
That's when she realized what was taken from her.
The Black Diamond.
She snarled and began to try and sniff out where they went and chase after them, no matter how long it takes.
PRESENT DAY:
Pat was in the basement and looking over Charles' file and was sure that Clint killed him years ago during a fight. He was planning on sharing S.H.I.E.L.D. intel by selling it to the highest bidder. Weapons, secret identities, stuff like that.
And as he was doing it, Courtney came down the stairs and saw him. "If you're worried about me going through old files again, don't be. I'm done doing that."
"What are you talking about?" Pat questioned.
"Kendall. Rahne. Peter. MJ. They helped me realize what's important." Courtney explained to him. "My friends, family, Stripsey. I should have treated you more like Kendall did when we first moved here. So, it's Courtney Whitmore first, daughter, sister, friend, and if a villian comes up I'll be Stargirl. And I think that I should go and talk with Peter about what that girl said."
Pat was happy to hear that, but also a little upset now he has to break the news to her. "Right, right. Well...it's actually funny, 'cause, well...there's something you should know. Today, I ran into someone. Charles Barton. Trickshot. He's back in Blue Valley."
Courtney looked at him, not understanding what he means, he said that Trickshot was murdered by his brother.
"It would appear somehow he survived getting shot three times in the chest and in the head." Pat said with a chuckle. "I sent an alert to Clint and Kate that they should head back to town but haven't heard back from them."
Courtney tried to keep her cool but ended up squealing in excitement. "I'll get my staff!"
NEXT MORNING:
Peter was sleeping sound in his bed and was starting to wake up when he was awaken by something waving in his face, causing him to scream in fear as he sees two eyes hanging upside down in front of him.
"Hey, Peter." Cindy Moon greeted him happily while she was hanging off from the ceiling in her pajamas.
"Cindy!" Peter cried as he tried to catch his breath. "You trying to give me a heart attack?!"
"Nah, you're my favorite person in this town." Cindy informed him as she dropped from the ceiling and landed on his bed on her knees. "And the only real person I know."
Peter hated how true that statement was and got up and walked over to his closet to grab some clothes. "What about the others?"
"You mean your friends I just happen to know?" Cindy asked him as she turned away, allowing Peter to get change, but also turning to get a quick peek.
"Touché." Peter guessed as he got changed and Cindy looked away before he noticed she was watching him. "So, what do you wanna do today? Everyone else is gonna be busy with some meeting thing for the Avengers and JSA. Or are you gonna join them?"
"Actually, I was thinking that we could work on an outfit for me." Cindy said to him. "I mean, I'm not really looking to be covering myself in spider silk every time I need to suit up."
"Hm, I guess we could do that." Peter supposed. "What were you looking for?"
"Actually, MJ helped me with a few sketches before she left." Cindy said and showed the sketches she made and Peter couldn't lie and say they did look promising for a hero.
"Well, let's go to the basement and see if our heads can work that machine Clint used to make mine." Peter said and the two made their way down to the basement.
Jessica flew all over the globe, using her ring in order to locate the new member of the Green Lantern Corp, and she finally got a hit when she was flying off of the coast of Michigan and her ring began to glow.
Flying down and landing on the sandy beaches, she started to look around and holding her hand out, allowing her ring to pinpoint where they were.
But then her ring began to flash uncontrollably, making her think she pinpointed them, it was actually a warning for the giant fist that was coming up behind her and slammed her into the mountain side.
Jessica groaned in pain as she tried to put her head back on straight and looked down at the fist currently clutching her to the mountain.
She then saw someone flying down wearing a similar, yet still completely different to what she was currently wearing. This one that he was currently wearing was similar in theme and color design, except unlike hers, his had a giant mask that covered his entire face, the boots were green, and his arms were the only thing that was showing.
"Okay, wow, now I feel a little jealous." Jessica commented on his outfit since hers leaves her face exposed. But that wasn't exactly her main concern right now as she cleansed her fist and used her ring to shoot a stream of energy that blasted him away and flew into the air. "Listen, I'm not here to fight."
"Then what the hell do you want?" He asked her.
"Just wanna talk." Jessica promised as she flew down and removed her ring and then tossed it into the sand. "Please?"
He then got back up and went over to her before deciding she might be able to help him with what the hell the ring is and removed his own, revealing his face to her. "Simon Baz."
"Jessica Cruz." Jessica introduced herself.
Back at the Pit Stop, now with Kendall, Hope, Natalie, Scott, and MJ gone that left a few members of the Avengers really left. The only members that are sticking around so far are America Chavez, Bobbie Drake, Joey Zarick, Riri Williams, and Teresa Richards.
"Well, turns out, the girl who cried wolf was right after all." Pat got the meeting started.
"Of course I was right." Courtney stated a little too happy with herself. "There's a wolf in Blue Valley. And he's named Trickshot."
"Also known as Charles Barton. The brother of Clint." Pat stated to them.
"My uncle?" Teresa asked him. "Uh, he's dead. By five years."
"Yeah, that's what I thought too until I saw him order dinner." Pat informed her. "I know he's labeled to be dead. But he's somehow back. I don't know how, but he survived being shot in the head and heart three times."
"Yikes." Beth commented, shocked anyone would do that much to anyone, let alone their own brother.
"And what is he doing here?" Yolanda wondered.
"Not sure. Tried calling Clint, but whatever he and Kate are doing, they're currently radio silent." Pat stated. "He must've known that we were here."
"Yeah, but Charles isn't the guy to back away from the fight." Pat warned them. "He's just as deadly, even more so as Hawkeye."
"No offense to Barton, but Hawkeye isn't exactly that dangerous, Pat." Rick stated. "He's just a guy with a bow and arrow."
"Barton can take down a hoard of mobsters, and he has effortlessly. Multiple times. You should've seen him in his prime." Pat stated before getting to the problem. "Trickshot never really worked with the ISA or Dark Avengers, but he always used them for his own goals. The last one, he almost released all of S.H.I.E.L.D.s intel to the public. That's where Clint had enough of his brother's backstabbing and finally stabbed him back. The one thing I know for certain is that Trickshot is bad news. Whatever he's here for."
"So first things first, we need to find out where he's hiding." Courtney said as she stood up.
"Okay, then what?" Joey asked. "I mean, how do you arrest a dead man?"
"I can call S.H.I.E.L.D. Maria took over after Nick vanished when we came back from Battleworld, so she can send a few guys to bring him to like the Raft or something." Teresa offered.
"The same Raft that Dr. Doom escaped from?" Bobbie asked her.
"You got a better plan?" Teresa questioned him. "That's what I thought."
"This fits like a glove. It feels awesome." Cindy said as she was wearing her new superhero suit Peter and her had printed out.
She had it designed based off of her silk version of it, being all black from her arms and legs, followed up with an all webbed center with a white background and red webbing pattern, similar to Peter's. Her fingertips were all red, but her thumbs were the same black. Her shoulders also had a white lightning shaped strike around her arm and the leggings have them going down her legs. Covering her face was a red cloth that covers her mouth and nose to keep it in place.
"Yeah, looks pretty neat." Peter agreed with her as they strolled down the street. "It's been great. Having you back, you know."
"I've been happy being back." Cindy said as she and Peter stopped walking and just stared at one another.
Peter smiled and Cindy began to blush as she returned the smile, the two of them not sure what this is they're suddenly feeling for each other. This is something they've never felt and wonder what it is.
But then Peter started to lean close to Cindy, and she repeated it, no idea what's come over the two.
They then stopped when they sensed something and looked up to see a stop sign falling from the sky. The two had no idea what to think or even say after seeing that, and that was quickly followed up by a few dozen more of them falling and that was beginning to get their attention when purple lightning sparked off them.
"That's weird, right?" Cindy asked Peter.
"Yeah. That's weird." Peter agreed as they quickly made their way towards where they were coming from and saw Mike standing in the middle of the street holding a pink pen. "Mike?"
Mike then turned around and faced the two spider themed heroes. "Guess who's the newest member of the Justice Society of America?" He asked them while holding the pen out. "Me."
They then watched as sparks flew from the pen and a purple figure revealed itself from the pen that sorta looked like Genie from Aladdin, if he was purple and wore Loki's helmet.
"You mean us!" The ghostly figure told them. "Ta-da!" He then bowed down to them. "Pleasure to meet you. I'm the Thunderbolt." Then, there was a final stop sign that fell down and crashed through a car. "Sorry about the sign."
Peter and Cindy still had no idea what to say or even think about what they're witnessing.
"Tough crowd, right?"
Last night, Cindy Burman had returned and is walking down the halls of the school and opened up her locker where she pulled out a file that read: Injustice Unlimited/Hellfire Club.
This is everything that her parents had on possible powerful kids that lived in Blue Valley. Pyro was supposed to be part of the team after he controlled his powers, but as you already know, that didn't exactly end well.
She then activated her own little secret entrance through her locker to enter the ISA secret headquarters before making it down to the same location where the ISA would always meet.
Once there, she placed the file down and opened it to see the first recruitment was Henry King Jr. Obviously these files were out of date.
So she just tore the photo and saw the first photo was of Artemis Crock, obvious reasons.
Putting it aside, she saw the next one was for Isaac Bowin, son of Fiddler.
Next was an odd choice, but she was interested in why she was chosen, Elaine Coll. Yet again, she did create that strange scorpion device in robotics. Might be promising angle.
James Sanders, another odd choice, but he was the fastest man on the track meet. Might be some potential.
Cameron Mahkent, the son of Icicle.
Then there was the last of them. This one was very confusing to Cindy as she's never seen the possibility of this recruitment. The others she could understand, but one of the three smartest guys in the school?
Putting the photo down, it revealed to be a school shot taken from the yearbook for nonother than Peter 'Barton' himself.
Out of date files. Gotta watch out for them.
But it seems Cindy didn't notice, considering she never learned the identity for any of the Avengers, her main focus at the time being the JSA. She then lifted a small purple diamond in her hand.
"I am ready to serve you." The diamond tells her.
"Yes. Let's go do some recruiting." Cindy told the diamond as the room was engulfed by a flash of purple light.
2 YEARS LATER:
The entire world was filled with dead streets and overgrown plants, not to mention the hoard of psychopaths that are now everywhere as the team (what was left of all of them) were on a train on their way to somewhere they might be able to save everyone and fix everything.
Beth Chapel stood outside of the train car and watched as they were leaving the city of New York, where they've been setting up base after everything fell.
"Hey, Beth." An elderly woman called, and Beth turned to see none other than Kara Danvers, Supergirl herself. She was looking a bit paler than her current counterpart, and even looking much older. Up to the point that she has a few grey hairs coming to light from her blonde head. "We gotta stick together. No wandering off, we already lost too many."
"Okay." Beth promised and Kara nodded before walking to the other car.
Beth then walked away and was in her way to the other car when she heard something on top of the train car. She froze in fear and looked back to the opening and got ready for whatever was coming when the roof exploded and caused her to let out an ear piercing scream.
Kara turned back to where Beth was and tried to see through the car, but the entire thing is made with a lead coating. "Beth? Beth!" She quickly sped through the car and stopped a few feet ahead of what she was seeing and saw Beth on the ground, with someone biting her stomach.
But Kara recognized the figure easily.
"I think you've had enough there, Nia." Kara snarled at the girl who was once her friend.
Nia slowly raised back to her feet, revealing her torn Dreamer outfit, her mask is also ripped and torn from overuse, and she walks into the light to reveal her bones that are shown. Her entire face is rotted away, her eyes honey yellow, and an entire chunk of her head is missing, only the left half of her brunette hair is left on her head as the rest was blown off.
Nia then looked towards Kara and let out a snarl to her old friend. She then used her powers to create a rope to them throw it towards Kara who raised her hand and allowed the rope to wrap around her arm and then pulled, sending Nia flying towards Kara before she punched Nia and sent her back towards the end of the train.
Beth then got back up from the ground and went to bite Kara, but she just grabbed the now zombified kid and tossed her to the back of the train, her focus being more on her powered friend.
Avery Ho, the Flash, sped into the car and saw the two fighting. "Kara!" She cried when Beth went to bite her and Avery began to phase through Beth.
Nia took the distraction as her chance to go in for a bite, but Kara used that as her chance to punch Nia, as the bite wouldn't affect her in any way. She sent a giant swing to sends Nia flying and even shattered her entire face and sent the rest of her body toppling out of the car.
"Sorry, Nia. But I need to keep these kids safe." Kara apologized to the back of the car and reached down to her neck and revealed a small locket and lets a few tears fall from her face. "I already failed to do it once."
Beth then got ready to attack Kara when she suddenly exploded, and a few of the other survivors of the apocalypse, Kate Bishop, Courtney Whitmore, Phoebe Cuckoo, and Mike Dugan to name a few, walked in and saw them.
"Uh...guys, I'm covered in Beth!" Avery cried in disgust.
"Sorry, we left the hand sanitizer behind." Pietro apologized to her.
