Rapunzel, now 18, gets out of her bed and goes to her table and takes off a peice of it and takes out the gold medalian she took from Hiccup.
She puts in on and looks at the mirror. She hears a knock at her door and puts the medalian under her dress as she puts the table peice back.
"Hello, Rapunzel?" She hears her father as he opens the door and enters the room with two handmaids.
One of them was a good friend to Rapunzel. Her name was Cassandra, or Cass as she goes by, and they didn't really get along when they first met, with Rapunzel being fun and all, while Cass was serious. Eventually they got along and became great friends.
Cass was four years older than Rapunzel. She had short black hair and hazel green eyes.
Cass and the other handmaid opened the curtains of Rapunzel's room as another handmaid enters the room with a box in her hands.
Fredric thanked the handmaid and gave it to Cass as he opened it and showed it to Rapunzel, it was a pink dress. "I hope you like it." He says as Rapunzel grabs the dress to inspect it. "I hear it's the latest fashion in Germany." The handmaids take Rapunzel to change her dress behind a dressing screen.
"So, what's the occasion?" Rapunzel asks behind the screen while the handmaids help her put on the dress.
Fredric chuckles, "Does a father need an occasion to give his daughter a gift?" He waits for a couple of seconds until he says, " Actually, I was hoping you could wear it at Captain Fitzherbert's promotion ceremony today."
Rapunzel's head puts out the side of the screen, "I knew it!" She says quickly until the handmaids pull her back to finish the dress.
"Commodore Fitzherbert he's about to become." He says with a smile on his face. "He's a fine man, he fancies you actually." The handmaids tighten the dress behind Rapunzel causing her to gasp. "Rapunzel, are you alright?" He asks.
"It's a little tight." She says back trying to breathe.
"It's what all the women in Germany wear." He says to her.
Rapunzel tries to breathe better, "Well women in Germany probably don't go put that much if they're going to wear this." She says as she walks out to show her father how she looks.
He smiles in delight, "For what it worth it looks beautiful on you." He signals the maids to leave.
Downstairs a tall man with auburn hair and green eyes holding a case, looks around the mansion waiting for someone. He grabs a candle and breaks it accidentally. He panics and puts it in a trash can as a man walks by. He smiles at the man and continues to wait.
Finally Fredric walks down the stairs and greets the man, "Welcome Mr. Haddock, good to see you again." He says with a smile. Hiccup and Rapunzel were best friends and always talked when Rapunzel would walk around town with her father.
"You too sir." Hiccup says back with a smile as he sets the case down and opens it revealing a sword with a straight blade, a handle with a guard on it, in a sheath. Fredric takes it and inspects it. "I hope you like it. May I?" He asks him with his hands out. Fredric gives him the sword as Hiccup takes it out of its sheath and balances the blade on his finger, "The blade is made from pure iron and is perfectly balanced. The handle has a golden guard on it." He tosses it into the air and catches it into the sheath.
Fredric gives a chuckle, "Very impressive. Mr. Fitzherbert will definitely be impressed. I'll be sure to tell him of your craftsmanship." He says to Hiccup who shakes his head.
"It was nothing sir." He says humbly as he puts the sword into it's case.
Fredric just smiles and puts a hand on his shoulder, "Nonsense, this is the most beautiful sword I've ever seen!" He says and Hiccup feels happy that the Governor said that about his sword.
They hear footsteps and look up to see Rapunzel walking down the stairs with her dress as Hiccup watches with his mouth a little open.
Ever since they were young Hiccup had developed quite a crush on Rapunzel. He didn't want to ruin they're friendship so he never said anything. But part of him longed to be with Rapunzel, even though he thought he wasn't worthy of her.
Rapunzel finishes walking down the stairs and smiles at Hiccup, "Hiccup, it's been to long. I had a dream of you last night." She says happily.
Her father looked at her trying to hide his shock while Hiccup was blushing a little, "I don't think that's proper now do you?" Fredric says with a chuckle.
Fredric always wanted Rapunzel to find a good man to marry. He knew that Hiccup would treat her well but Hiccup wasn't that high in society, since he only a blacksmith. He always thought that Eugene was a better choice.
Rapunzel looks at her father, "Not like that. I was talking about the day we met." She said and both Hiccup and Fredric relaxed.
Hiccup smiles at Rapunzel, "Well, it's good to see you too Ms. Corona." He said.
Rapunzel rolls her eyes playfuly, "How many time do I need to ask you to call me Rapunzel?" She asked. He always called her that in front of people like her father.
He just smiled, "At least once more Ms. Corona." He said.
Fredric nodded, "Well, it's been nice to see you again Mr. Haddock but we must be going to the ceremony, come Rapunzel." He said gesturing Rapunzel to the door.
As they entered the caridge, Rapunzel looked back to Hiccup and said, "Goodbye, Hiccup." with a smile.
As they rolled away Hiccup looked at them leave, "Goodbye. Rapunzel." He said sadly, thinking that he would never be with her.
