There two guards where they were hiding, and the moment one of them left, they had Nanaue sneak up behind him, pick him up and then ate him whole.
The other man walks over to a bag and the second he opens it, a bunch of rats come out and attack him. Peacemaker than strolled out and threw an axe at one of the approaching men.
The rat attack tried to aim at Peacemaker, but that ends with Yuri wrapping him up in her tentacle ropes to wrap him up before breaking his neck and dropping his dead body.
Another comes from behind but gets immediately punched by Shocker and sent flying through the forest...at least his head was. A few more came charging from within the camp but were gunned down by DuBois before they could even get close.
They then began making their way through the camp, taking care of all of the people with all of their skills and powers with ease of either shooting them, strangling them, punching them, or just eating them whole.
They then made it close to the tent where she's being held and were about to be shot down by a lookout, but before they could open fire on them, Abner stepped ahead of everyone and opened a device on his wrists that began to release a dozen millions of polka dots that melted the wood support on the platform and cause it to fall and the men in it to get crushed.
"He does throw polka dots at people." Peacemaker said in shock.
"I'm sorry it's so...flamboyant." Abner apologizes.
"It looks cool. I think." Cleo confesses.
"It's freaking weird." Herman stated.
"I don't like to kill people, but when I pretend they're my mother, it makes things easier." Abner tells them as they approach the tent.
"That's just T.M.I." Yuri stated as she used her tentacles to open the curtains as everyone aimed their weapons at the room just to see Teresa, shirtless, getting her wound on her left shoulder treated with the woman who found her.
They look to who interrupted her treatment and she was shocked when she recognized them from the prison. That's when Nanaue sticker his head out of the curtain on the other end of the tent.
"What the hell are all of you doing here?" Teresa asked all of them.
"Uh...we were supposed to come and rescue you." Yuri confessed to her.
"Waller sent you?" Teresa asked in shock, thinking she was just a lost cause to her at this point and not send any team. Let alone a second Suicide Squad.
"Are you drinking tea?" DuBois asks her.
Teresa then gestured to her new friend who was confused as to what she was seeing: a anamorphic Shark, a man wearing polka dots, a weird rope cloth ninja, and a man with two giant gauntlets on his hands...not to mention to buy in armor and the other with a bowl on his head.
"This is Sol Soria, she's the leader of the freedom fighters." Teresa introduced them as they finished with her wound and gave her a new shirt. "They're the resistance trying to take down the current government. They saved me from the soldiers on the beach."
That caused the crew to freeze as they didn't even consider that...and they murdered just about everyone in the camp as they all lowered their various weapons.
"Why didn't my people alert me of your arrival?" Sol asks them, thinking she should've heard of these people in her camp.
They all had no idea what to say and just said the first thing they could think of.
"We didn't see any people." DuBois lied.
"Yeah, I didn't see anybody." Christopher agreed.
"There was nobody out there." Yuri stated.
"There's no one out there." Herman stated.
"They were gone when we got here." Cleo stated.
"I turned them into my mother in my head and killed them." Abner confesses, making everyone look to him annoyed that he just admitted to it.
Teresa then heard King Shark who coughing until he coughed up a bone of a finger and it was sent flying across the floor.
SUICIDE SQUAD (WIUCUT)
Sol was stuck looking around and saw the bloodbath that was left behind from their assault with everyone dead and the river flowing red with their blood.
"Typical Americans. Just run in, guns blazing." Sol sighed as she turned to face Teresa who now had a shirt on.
"Yeah, I can't exactly disagree with you." Teresa sighed. "These guys..." she then turned to face the squad who were just fighting one another with Peacemaker trying to touch one of Shocker's gauntlets and him threatening to hit him with them. "They're fucking idiots, I know. They're the most unqualified people on the planet. But right now our objectives align with yours. If Jotunheim contains the technology our intelligence is saying it does, then it could be used on not only the people of Corto Maltese, but the whole world. We need your help to get into town to stop them."
Sol seems to stop listening to her and was focusing on Ratcatcher. "Is that rat waving at me?"
Teresa looked at her and saw Sebastian was indeed waving to them. She then looked back to Sol and sighed at the craziness. "It would appear that way."
"Why?" Sol questioned as if this is the craziest thing today.
"I guess because it's a friendly?" Teresa guesses.
Sol then decides to just let it go and get to the problem at hand. "Luna and Suarez murdered my entire family. I'd make a deal with the Devil to stop them."
"How about instead of a deal with Mephistopheles, how about his more devilish cousin Waller and her demon squad?" Teresa asked her, causing Sol to chuckle at that.
"Your people will have our help getting to Valle Del Margo apprehend their Gaius Grieves." Sol promises to her.
"Thank you." Teresa thanks her new friend.
They began their long truck throughout the jungle and into the town when Abner tripped and fell into the ground, revealing that the rash is back.
"Hey, come on, get up. We gotta keep going." Teresa tells Abner whilst Cleo also sits down.
"We're tired, Teresa. We need to rest." Cleo tells her as she sat down on a rock.
"Goddamn hobbyist." Christopher groaned.
"We cannot stop." Sol tells Teresa. "We need to hurry if you're going to help my people."
"Hey, we're not here to help your people." DuBois interrupted her. "But she's right, we've got to keep moving."
"I carry friend?" Nanaue offered to Cleo.
"No, it's okay, Nanaue." Cleo promised as she sighed and saw Abner's face. "It's happening to your face again."
"It's nothing. I slipped." Abner promised when Shocker raised his gauntlet and bumped him back.
"Hey. Listen, Norman Bates, if that shit all over your face is contagious, we need to know." Herman demanded from him.
"It's not." Abner promises but Shocker then began to charge up his gauntlet.
"What the hell is it?" Herman demanded.
"It's an interdimensional virus." Abner explains to him.
That didn't seem to make anything better as everyone just waited for an explanation.
"What the fuck does that mean?" Yuri asks.
"My mother was a scientist at STAR Labs, and she was obsessed with turning me and my brothers and sisters into superheroes. She infected me. Now, if I don't expel the dots at least twice a day...they'll eat me alive."
Teresa fells sympathy to this guy now after hearing that and realizes it's not really his fault he became the way he did, it was his mother's fault.
This was one of her fears over the years of finding her family. Learning why they gave her up. Was she not good enough? Was she a burden? A mistake? Were they forced to give her up?
This is something that she didn't want answered and did want answers for. She even gave up for a while before realizing that the answers can't be any worse than her theories of why they gave her up. And she wants to know if there are any others in her family. Does she have aunts? Uncles? Grandparents?
Siblings perhaps? Maybe an older or younger brother or sister?
"What happened to your brothers and sisters?" Teresa wondered.
"Some lived. Some...died." Abner informed them.
"And your mom...where is she?" Cleo asks him.
Abner then looks and stares at everyone. "Everywhere."
To his mind, everyone he meets and sees all look, sound, and just appear like his mother to him.
"Okay. Let's keep going." Teresa breaks the talk up and they keep walking.
"Hurry, or we'll be late to meet my contact." Sol warned them all.
