It took them almost just the whole day until they finally made it to where they were supposed to meet their transport, who was just stopped at the checkpoint that heads into the city.
They began to try and break into the bus he was currently driving, and they all saw this as their need to get invited.
So working fast, Bloodsport and Peacemaker both shot at the far troops whilst Nanaue just ate the man at the bus as DuBois made it to the door and knocked at the scared driver.
"Are you Milton?" DuBois asked him, getting a nod of assurance.
They then moved all of their supplies into the back of the bus: weapons, IDs, food, water, clothes, everything they need to stay off the radar for a while.
"Milton will drive you through town and to La Gatita Amable." Sol promises Teresa as she helped pack the bus. "There are clothes that'll help all of you blend in. That said, the walking Tiburon is gonna have to stay out of sight." She warned while facing King Shark.
"I wear disguise." Nanaue stated.
"Oh, you were disguise?" Cleo asked happily.
"Si." Nanaue confirmed.
"Hey, look, Bruce here is learning Spanish." Herman joked as he placed a box in the bus.
"And what kind of disguise is that?" Cleo asked.
"Fake mustache." Nanaue answered.
"Yeah, you're gonna need more than a fake mustache." Yuri broke to Nanaue.
Teresa and Sol watched them all interact and looked to one another. "So, listen, there's gonna be a lot of soldiers watching Jotunheim. And when they discover what we're doing, they might just send everyone."
"Let's pray they do not." Sol stated to her. "Or you will all be dead."
"Maybe." Teresa shrugged. "But...they'd leave the palace vulnerable for attack. Luna and the others will be left without protection." She stated and Sol understood exactly what she was saying.
"You're a good soldier, Teresa Durand." Sol tells her, causing Teresa to smile. "I hope this mission ends well and you find your family."
"Me too." Teresa agreed.
Nanaue was holding his finger over his lips to act like a fake mustache as they kept working on packing the bus up.
"We can still tell it's you, King Shark." Herman broke to him.
"That's the worst fake mustache I've ever seen." Christopher mocked him.
"And even if you did fool us, we would've just killed you." Yuri stated.
"FUCK!" Nanaue cried in anger as they finally begin to load themselves into the bus.
SUICIDE SQUAD (WIU CUT)
As they hid themselves in the bus, they tried their best to keep a low profile when Teresa took this as a time to try and update Waller.
"Waller, come in." Teresa called into their radio. "Waller?"
"T-sk Fo-ce X?" Waller glitched in.
"Waller, you there?" Teresa tried to fix the glitches and try to get it to work.
"Military must've put signal jammers all over the city." Waller reported in. "The comms are down, but I can still activate the bombs. So no funny business."
"Copy." Teresa promised as she raised her middle fingers and hang up on her. "I fucking hate that woman."
"Yeah." Yuri agreed with her whilst DuBois and Cleo discuss his fear and her love of rats when they then finally made it to their location: La Gatita Amable.
They all walked into the bar and looked around the other inhabitants of the club as they take a seat outside of their outfits, but Yuri kept her ropes hidden from view. Teresa just fixed the hind of her skirt, so it wasn't as up as it was on the bus. She feels really uncomfortable with all the looks she's getting from the people here.
"So, when's this Thinker guy supposed to get here?" Teresa asked the group.
"According to Waller, he's supposed to be here in a few hours." Cleo answers.
"Looks like we gotta find something to do to pass the time, miss?" Christopher called out to the waitress walking around. "How about some, uh, what do you guys drink around here? Fernet? A round of Fernet's. Comprende?"
"Si." She responded and went to get them.
"Hey, Pissmaker, we're on a mission." DuBois reminded him.
"Easy, Inspector Gadget, it's not like a few drinks ever hurt anyone." Christopher stated.
"Except for the dozens of thousands and millions of people who are killed in drunk driving." Yuri responded.
"Come on guys, this time tomorrow half of us are gonna be dead, so this'll be our last drink." Teresa reminded them all and she returned with the drinks.
"Hey, Chica, you forgot the rat." Christopher informed her while looking down at Sebastian.
Abner didn't seem to be able to hold down even one drink and they all laughed and knew he definitely needed to be limited to drinks.
As the hours passed, they all just knew it was having fun until they needed to get back to work and having a good time because, well, like Teresa said, most them are most likely gonna be dead by this time tomorrow.
Teresa however was just staying back with DuBois, mostly because she was worried Nanaue might do something stupid.
"So, what's your story?" DuBois asks Teresa, causing her to break out of her focused and turn to him.
"What?" Teresa asks.
"Like why are you here?" DuBois explains.
Teresa sighed and saw that she never really explained to why she's here to them yet. "When I was a child, four, two months old, I was put into an orphanage. I was passed from home to home for years. It took until I was at least ten when I finally understood it. And when I learned nobody knew about my real parents. They say that they found me...abandoned. Surprised I even survived as long as I did. They explained how the people that lived where I was found just disappeared. The names they used were fakes, so they didn't know how to track them down and I was put up for adoption. I've spent years...piecing everything together. But all I've been getting are fake names: Carol Durand and Mike Durand. I don't know who I am, but I want to know who they were. I wanna know if they wanted to get rid of me or not. If they wanted me, or if I was a burden on them."
"Why would you want to know that?" DuBois asks, having a daughter of his own who he pretends to not care about, but it's all he truly does care about.
"Because...the truth can't be any worse than the theories I've already come up with myself." Teresa stated, already accepting everything possible from every possible outcome. She just wants to know the truth. "I survive this...I finally get everything I've ever wanted. All my answers."
DuBois then patted her back. "Hope you get those answers."
"Thanks." Teresa said with a smile when she looked to the door and saw their bottle headed man walking in. "Then let's get the mission done."
The entire room seems to have noticed he was here, and DuBois was the first to walk up to their Thinker and placed a gun at his back.
"That is a gun." DuBois informed Thinker before he could get any ideas. "Smile. We're old mates who are gonna take a trip to Jotunheim."
Thinker than laughed that that insane idea and knew better. "Even with my help, you think you can get into Jotunheim?"
"If not, I've got a Great White outside looking for some chum." DuBois stated as he began to drag him out the front doors when soldiers came in and are looking for them.
"Okay, we need a Plan B." Yuri tells Teresa.
"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing." Teresa whispered and thought on what their next move should be. "Take vertigo out the back." She said and passed Thinker to the others. "Get him out back, Metal-Head, you're with me."
"What's the plan?" Christopher asked as she and him took a few steps away from the team as they made their way out the back.
"Hey-o! We're over here!" Teresa cried out to the bar, confusing Christopher and DuBois saw her plan was to get captured. "These are the Americans you're looking for!"
Sighing, he reached into his pocket and hands a device to Cleo. "Find our coordinates on this pad and meet us there in half an hour."
"What?" Cleo asks.
"You heard me, go." DuBois said and Yuri began to lead Thinker out and raised his hands. "Me, too! I'm their companion."
They were then roughhoused and handcuffed before dragged out of the bar.
The rest of the team dragged Thinker and made their way out the back where there was only one guard and Cleo immediately took care of him with her rats and kept making their way to the bus.
"Your equipment manipulates animal behavior." Thinker noticed with her wand and what they just did, and their bus driver started to chase up to them. "Clever. I'm working on something similar with humans."
"Shut the hell up." Yuri demanded as she pushed him forward.
"You are perceivably panicked. I'm guessing she's the alpha of your little battalion." Thinker guesses while looking to Yuri.
"You want me to tie you and hang you up like laundry needing to dry?" Yuri questioned him angrily.
Thinker almost liked like he was thinking about it. "My answer might not be what you're expecting."
"Ew." Herman said in disgust as he poked him in the back. "Come on, we need to get the others back."
