5 MINUTES EARLIER:
The team had just finished planting the bombs when they looked out the window and saw backup for the troops they killed on their way in arrived.
"Well, looks like backups arrived." DuBois stated to the others. "Come on, we've still got five floors left." He informed everyone as they made their way back up the staircase, all but Nanaue who climbed a stairway into an aquarium area.
When he walked up to it, it looked all but empty when he saw there were jellyfish like fish inside that all came over to Nanaue and formed his future.
Nanaue then quickly bounced out of the way and the fish all reformed his shape in another location.
Nanaue then shocked at the realization. "New dumb friends!" He then let out a giggle as he ran around the aquarium, and they continued to follow him around.
(CUT WIU) SQUAD SUICIDE
In the upper floors, the team were getting ready to set up the bombs when their bag broke and the bombs fell over the floor.
"Aw, fizzle sticks, hold on." Abner said as he bends down to pick them up when they were suddenly opened fire on, and everyone ducked for cover.
Just then, Milton was shot down and Shocker sent out a blast and sent them flying into the wall where they were splattered over.
"Are there anymore out there?" DuBois asked from behind a desk.
"They killed Milton!" Abner cried before Herman could answer.
That statement caused everyone to freeze and question what he just said. All with their own reason.
"Milton was still with us?" DuBois asked.
"Where'd you think he was?" Abner asks.
"I don't know. Thought he stayed back on the bus." DuBois confesses.
"Wait, his name was Milton?" Herman asked, surprised to hear that.
"You didn't know his name?" Abner asks.
"There's so many people on this team that I can't remember everyone's name!" Herman defended. "What the hell was he even gonna do?"
"He was helping us!" Abner stated.
Harley was the only one confused throughout the whole argument. "Who's Milton?"
"What?!" Abner cried.
"I don't remember any Milton." Harley confesses.
"Fuck! He was with us the whole time." Abner informed her.
"Who do you think was driving the bus?" Herman asked.
"That wasn't you?" Harley asks.
"No!" Herman stated.
"So...what, someone named Milton was the one driving the bus and was with us the whole time?" Harley tried to put it together.
"Yes!" Everyone cried in anger.
"I don't think so. I think I would've noticed if a guy named Milton was with us." Harley stated as Herman sighed and tried rubbing his head through his helmet. "It's not a very common name. I don't think I've even met Milton."
Abner then stood up and was very annoyed. "Are you messing around right now?"
"With her, it's hard to tell." Herman stated.
"He was a really nice guy and he sacrificed himself to help us." Abner stated. "And now look at him...he's dead."
Harley then showed her face while looking at the three of them standing over Milton. "Oh! Him! Milton."
DuBois then came out of hiding as Harley picked up the javelin. "So when did this love affair with Milton start?"
"I liked him from the beginning, okay? I just didn't-" Abner was saying when several more soldiers come running in and Shocker raised his gauntlets.
"Herman!" DuBois shouted, but it was too late as Herman already sent out a blast of his power off and the bombs were in the direction of the sent blast and caused the explosions to go off as they hit the wall, causing an entire portion of the building to blow off.
The debris caused everyone to run and start ducking for cover when they saw that the aquarium that King Shark was at exploded and was sent falling out of the building due to the flood.
"You think he'll be okay?" Herman asked.
All of the soldiers then approached Nanaue and opened fire on him.
"A little less than okay." DuBois said as Nanaue crawled up and growled in anger and became more monster like as he charged and bit off one of their heads and they ran off.
They then felt as the entire building began to shake and fall apart. They all then ran as fast as they could as the entire upper half of the building began to fall apart underneath them as they leaped and landed on the leftover parts of the building.
DuBois and Herman were the last and DuBois used his grapple to swing across but smacked his face, breaking his mask. And Herman ended up falling and slamming his face into the floor. Luckily his suit was designed to take the fall and he just got back on his feet.
"I'm good!" Herman cried just as the floor crushed underneath him and he ended up falling down and the floor underneath him fell, and so on for several floors.
DuBois looked and saw his line wasn't properly attached to the wall. "Oh, fuck off!" He then broke off from the building and took the long way down, without the support Herman was currently on.
Herman then finally stopped falling and ironically ran into the same floor as Teresa, Cleo, and Yuri.
"Hey." Herman greeted them just as they heard someone cry and saw as DuBois smacked his head on several concrete floors until falling and smashing his head into the ground, his head splattering everywhere.
That caused everyone to freeze in what they just saw, and the others wondered exactly what they missed when they were fighting.
Harley and Abner came climbing down and saw them were all together and Nanaue came walking in, still eating the flesh off of the head of the soldier he murdered.
"Uh, who was that?" Teresa asked Nanaue.
"Nom nom." Nanaue stated.
Teresa groaned just as they felt what's left of the facility began to shake on them.
"I think it's trying to get out." Cleo tells them.
"What?" Harley asked.
"Starro the-" Teresa was about to explain just as a one of his arms came crashing through and they went off running.
They made it down to the doors, sadly they were the only thing still working and attached, which Herman made quick work of, and they ran for it as the rest of the facility was demolished.
And Starro the Conqueror was set loose on the world.
