Jace's POV

"Why do we have to go to mundane school again?" I ask, scowling at the ground.

"Jace," Clary says gently, she's the best girlfriend ever, "The Clave has made a new law. We have to follow it."

I grumble some more, I mean me, Clary, Alec, Izzy, and Simon are now enrolled in Goode High School because of this stupid law.

We march up to the school building, it's plain and drab. Suddenly I hear the whistle of air behind me. The crowd in front of the school parts for a raven haired guy with sea green eyes. He's running from a blonde girl with grey eyes.

"Percy Jackson!" She screams, "So help me gods I will kill you!"

He laughs, "See ya Annie!" He streaks towards a Prius in the teacher parking lot. She growls and chases him, gaining on him with every step.

She catches up to him right before he reaches the parking lot. She judo flips him onto his back and then they tug of war over a bronze computer. She wins and slips the computer in her backpack. He hops up and they kiss like they weren't just involved in a crazy chase. They are approached by a group of people that must be their friends. One is a tall, buff girl with stringy hair and a sneer. Another is a goth girl with a tiara and a button on her leather jacket that says Death To Barbie. Another one is this emo kid with black hair and all black clothes. Another has blond hair and a tan. Another has a scar on his lip and blond hair. Another has a black braid all the way down her waist. Another looks like a latino elf. Another has a tan complexion and choppy brown hair with feathers braided through it. Another is a Chinese boy. And last is a dark skinned girl with gold eyes.

They laugh and joke together before heading inside the school. I look at Clary, she's white as a sheet. "What's wrong?"

"That's my friend from middle school. Percy Jackson. I don't know how he got mixed up with these people but his eyes looked broken." She shudders. "Let's go inside." She suggests.

We go in and see the emo kid fighting the goth girl. "Let it rest Thalia." Emo snarls.

"Not a chance Nico." She smirks, "Or should I say Death Breath?"

Nico lunges at her, but Percy grabs the smaller boy. "Hey, guys chill." He says dropping Nico.

Nico looks at Thalia and they nod at each other. They spring and he blocks their punches.

"Chill" Nico mimics.

"Yeah, Kelp Head, not the best." Thalia says, before swinging another punch at his face while Nico kicks his ankles.

Annabeth steps in, "Cut it out guys we've got to go to class." They walk off and we follow, heading to the same class.

Time skip to PE

Finally PE arrives and we walk into the Gym ready for some easy workouts. The gym teacher stands at the center of the room. "Hello cupcakes, I'm your substitute gym teacher Coach Hedge."

Leo, Jason, and Piper walk up to Coach. "Coach, where have you been? We haven't seen you in ages. Is Mellie all right?" Piper asks.

He grunts, "Yep, I was taking a leave of absence because me and Mellie wan't to raise Chuck with his dad and mom. Not just her."

Percy, Annabeth, Frank, and Hazel, we had learned all of their names already, walked up too. "Still Coach not cool." Percy said.

Clarisse came up to, "Hey Coach I didn't miss you at all."

"Me too." Coach says. He sniffles. "Everyone drop down and give me a hundred. Or the best you can do."

I grin and start doing pushups. I expected that most everyone would have quit by 30 but Reyna, Thalia, Nico, Percy, Clarisse, Annabeth, Jason, Piper, Leo, Frank, Hazel, and of course, Simon, Isabelle, Alec and Clary.

At 50 it was weird. Most mundane couldn't last that long. Leo, Nico, and Hazel had quit but the rest were still doing pushups and they didn't look like they had even broken a sweat.

When I finished 100 I saw that me, Reyna, Thalia, Percy, Clarisse, Annabeth, Jason, Frank, Simon and Isabelle all did 100. Coach Hedge came forward again. "Listen up cupcakes, we are playing capture the flag today. I'm going to give you a color. Reds over by that tree, and Blue's over by that rock." I looked around, I mean trees and rocks in a building? This guy has to be crazy. But sure enough, artificial wildlife was everywhere. It looked like a jungle on that side of the gym.

Timeskip to after teams are picked

Me, Simon, Isabelle, Clary, and Alec all ended up on the Red team. Percy, Annabeth, Frank, Hazel, Nico, Reyna, Clarisse, Thalia, Jason, Leo, and Piper all ended up on the Blue team.

Coach Hedge walked up to us, "You," he said pointing at me, "You're team captain." Then he walked off and appointed Percy as Blue team captain.

"Ok," I said, "Clary and Isabelle, you go hide the flag over in that area and guard it. Simon, Alec, Patricia, and Josh, you guys are on Defense. Me and the rest of you are on Offense."

I looked over at the other team and saw them all running off. I grinned, this would be an easy win.
