Description: This fanfic was inspired by Kristen Chenoweth's song, "Taylor The Latte Boy." I do not own rights to this song or any of the lyrics but I think the storyline in the song is adorable. I hope you enjoy my rendition of this piece Inuyasha style.

Latte Boy: "8:11"

"Hurry Kagome! We're going to run out of time!" Eri exclaimed as she dragged her childhood best friend into the college campus coffee shop.

"Would you calm down? It's only 8:11!" Kagome chuckled as the enticing smell of roasted coffee beans filled her nose.

Although the Chenoweth's Coffee Shop was noisy from all the bustling college students, she couldn't help but feel relaxed. Somehow the fresh scent of roasted coffee in the morning and the catchy indie music playing in the background always put her in a good mood.

"I know, but we still have to wait in line and order our coffees!" Eri huffed impatiently as she dug around in her purse to find her wallet. "I refuse to be called out by Professor Jaken for trying to sneak into class again."

"Ugh... don't remind me." Kagome shivered in revulsion. "I swear that imp has a third eye hidden somewhere on the back of his head. I wonder how he heard us walk in over that obnoxious squeaky voice of his?"

"He's a demon. He probably has one hidden under that ugly hat he always wears." Eri shrugged as they stepped forward in line.

"Nah, his head is too big and too bald to hide anything." Kagome said, making Eri giggle. "It's more than likely that he just has super sensitive hearing."

"Which means we'll never be able to sleep in late again..." Eri sighed dramatically just as they saw a friend of theirs open up another register.

"Hey Sango!" Kagome smiled as she and Eri stepped up in line.

"Hey guys!" Sango smiled as she placed the last receipt into the basket. "What can I get you two?"

"I'd like a caramel macchiato with almond milk and a blueberry muffin please." Eri said as she set her purse on the counter.

"Anything else?" Sango asked as she typed in the order.

"Nope!" Eri shook her head.

"That will be $4.75." Sango said.

"Great!" Eri smiled as she handed Sango the money. "How do you like working here?"

"I like it a lot!" Sango exclaimed as she handed Eri back her change. "The job is super flexible with my class schedule and my coworkers are really cool too. The only things that stink so far are the morning rush and moody customers. Other than that, it's been great!"

"That's awesome." Kagome said as she leaned against the counter. "What days do you normally work?"

"They've got me scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 7 to 10 am and Wednesday and Thursdays from 10 to 3 pm." Sango said as handed Eri her muffin. "They were having me come in on Sunday mornings but they've finally hired a new guy to help cover the open shifts. I'm helping train him for the next couple of days."

"Oh, really?" Eri asked just as Eri's drink was placed on the counter. "Is he cute?"

"Why do you ask? Are you looking for someone in particular?" Sango smirked, making Eri blush.

"No, I just like keeping my options open." Eri winked, making Sango laugh.

"I thought you were talking to that one guy from biology?" Kagome asked before ordering a double latte.

"Nah, Ginta's too serious! We've only been talking for two months and he's already started talking about our future together! I'm only a sophomore for crying out loud. It's way too early for me to even consider thinking about settling down." Eri shivered.

"Whatever you say Eri." Kagome laughed as she handed Sango her debit card.

"Are you still talking to Hojo Kagome?" Sango asked.

"No..." Kagome sighed as she tucked her debit card back inside her wallet. "I just wasn't into him."

"What do you mean?" Sango asked as Kagome's double latte was set on the counter.

"He's nice and everything, I just wasn't attracted to him like he was me." Kagome shrugged. "I don't know... it just felt weird being with him more than a friend. My heart wasn't into it I guess."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that." Sango frowned. "He's had a crush on you forever."

"I know... but," Kagome sighed. "He doesn't deserve being in a one sided relationship like that."

"True." Sango agreed. "I'm sure someone will catch your eye soon."

"Yeah! Maybe this new barista will be "The One?" Eri winked, making Kagome laugh.

"As if!" Kagome rolled her eyes just as the back room doors opened.

Her eyes widened slightly in shock when a beautiful man stepped out of the back storage room. He stood at least 6 foot tall, had lightly tanned skin and wore a grey v-neck t-shirt that showed off his strong broad chest. As he was tying his waist length, silver hair up into a messy bun, she noticed that he had two furry dog ears on the top of his head and deadly sharp claws on the tips of his fingers. Her mouth ran dry when he reached up to put the blue Chenoweth's visor cap on his head. The position of him slipping the cap over his head and tying the apron around his waist caused his strong muscular arms and lean torso to become more pronounced. Although his jeans were loose fitting there was no hiding how powerful his legs were by how low they sat on his hips. She could just make out the sharp cut lines on his abs and the tiny thatch of silver hair peeking out just below his belly button. He was by far the most physically attractive person she'd ever seen.

He was built like a god and had a strong aura to back it up. She felt her heart skip a beat when he paused and turned to look at her. The piercing amber color of his eyes and the intensity of his stare caused her to gasp in awe. Their seriousness made her feel like he was looking directly into her soul. Somehow they glowed from within like the sun and were framed by thick black brows and gorgeously long lashes. His exotic features made her wonder how it was possible for such a beautiful man to exist? She blushed when she saw him quickly look her up and down appraisingly. What on earth was he thinking? He was obviously a demon. Was it possible he'd picked up on her attraction for him? The thought mortified her and caused a dark blush to color her cheeks. She was about to turn away from him when she saw his little ears turn towards her from under his visor cap.

"How freaking cute!" Kagome inwardly squealed.

They looked so fluffy and soft! She almost smiled at their adorableness when he suddenly frowned and turned away from her.

"Crap! How embarrassing! He caught me staring at him." Kagome inwardly cursed as she quickly looked down at the counter. "He probably thinks I'm a creep for ogling him like a piece of meat!"

"Kagome? Are you alright?" Sango asked when she noticed Kagome's far off expression.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Just thinking is all." Kagome chuckled nervously as she took her double latte off the counter. She was about to take a sip of her delicious coffee when Eri suddenly gasped.

"Crap! Kagome, we've got to go!" Eri cursed as she looked down at her cellphone.

"Shoot, you're right! Thanks again Sango for the coffee!" Kagome said as she quickly shouldered her yellow backpack.

"No problem! Be sure to swing by tomorrow before you head to class. Chenoweth's having a buy one get one half off pastry sale." Sango said as she waved goodbye.

"Cool! Thanks for the heads up!" Eri waved back as she and Kagome quickly made their way towards the door.

"Bye!" Kagome called before catching up to Eri.

"See yeah!" Sango yelled. She was just about to clean the counter when the silver haired male stepped up beside her. "Hey, Inuyasha! I see Miroku fixed you up with the uniform. It looks good on you."

"Thanks..." the silver haired male said as he awkwardly adjusted the blue apron strap around his neck. "What are you training me to do today?"

"The register. You do know how to count right?" Sango winked as she patted the well-used machine.

"Feh! Course I do!" Inuyasha smirked as he leaned his toned hip against the counter. "I ain't five."

"Just making sure." Sango giggled as she turned to face the register. "First things first, at the beginning of each shift we have to balance the register. It's always a good idea to double check your work to make sure we aren't missing anything before the next person takes over. That way no one can blame you for taking cash out when you were away from the counter. This button here on the back is how you turn it on. It can sometimes be a pain in the butt to turn on, but give it another push and it should start right up. If it doesn't then..."

As Sango continued to explain the inner workings of the register and how to place peoples orders, Inuyasha's eyes flickered towards the window. Thanks to his enhanced eyesight he was able to catch sight of the quickly shrinking silhouette of a stunning brunette wearing a green skirt and yellow backpack.
