Aw, Man!

Laddie had decided to go to the cave with his brothers for the day. The guys had disappeared for a bit, probably to go feed, then go back to the cave. I went home with only my pups. We all planned to meet up at the boardwalk the next night. This is fine by me. I wanted to get some sleep, and maybe work on something for the guys. I knew they liked Chinese food, but it was actually their favorite. The cooks and staff at that Chinese restaurant knew the boys by name, even their specific orders. So, why not see if I could make them some metal chopsticks. I just got to make sure they are not silver. That would not be good.

When I got back to my house, Sirius did a sweep while Regulus waited by my side. Sirius came back without any issue. I went up to my room and changed into some older clothes. I served my pups the rest of the Elk mixed with some Bovine. I wonder what they ate while I was asleep for the four days. It must have been good if they didn't have digestive issues. I set down their bowls and went back to my bedroom to grab the rest of my metal hair sticks. I had eight chrome metal hair sticks. They needed to be reshaped and given small ridges at the ends to act as teeth. It took me only a couple of hours to finish them all, wash them, and set the chopsticks aside for when I saw them again.

I had some metal shavings to clean off my skin, so I went to take another shower. While I was in the shower, I felt immense pain in my abdomen. It couldn't be hunger pains already, could it? No, the red tinge to the water told me everything. It appears I'm not going to want to do anything but lay in bed, eat chocolate, and sleep. And hope I don't stain anything. I finished showering, dried off, and put on some sweatpants and a loose tank-top. Went downstairs to see if I had any chocolate, and found none. So, I had to go to the store.

Loading up my pups, we went to the nearest convenience store. They had everything I needed. I got some candy bars, Oreos, chocolate ice cream, and different types of potato chips. They even had feminine stuff. Can't forget the milk, can't have Oreos without milk. I think I got everything for now. Paid for all the junk and went home.

I let my pups out to do their thing, then they followed me upstairs. I put everything but the milk and ice cream on the nightstand next to my bed and crawled under the covers. Literally. I had added another duvet on top of the one I had, bunched them up, and crawled into them as if they were a fort. Only an opening big enough so I could breathe, and didn't move. The cramps were so painful. I curled up into the fetal position and closed my eyes.

Next Night

"Man, where is she?" Paul wondered out loud. The guys were leaning against the railing near their bikes. Paul was getting ready to light a joint when he noticed I haven't shown up at the boardwalk yet. Marko stood next to Paul with a look of concentration, "Sirius and Regulus haven't left her side. They're ansty and bored. So, she's at home." Paul put the joint away, "Should we go check on her?" They all looked at David, "Yeah, maybe the hunger pains hit." They mounted their bikes and headed to my house.

They didn't take my revoking of their invitation seriously, luckily. They didn't bother knocking, just strolled right in. Sirius and Regulus met them at the stairs, they needed to go outside. Laddie opened the back door for them while Dwayne got their food bowls ready. He gave them the rest of the Bovine. I'll need to go to the butcher's shop tomorrow. The rest of the guys came upstairs into my room. The scent of blood hit them before they opened my door. Looking around the room and not seeing anything out of place but a mound of blankets. The three blondes surround my bed.

I can tell they were going to throw the covers off and pester me. I just wasn't in the mood, "Whatever you're planning, please don't." "Aw, come on. You're no fun," Paul whines from behind me. "And I won't be any fun for another day or so," I curl up further as I'm hit with a cramp. "Alright, princess. We'll be back tomorrow. Taking the pups." David motions for his brothers to follow him. Dwayne was waiting downstairs with Laddie. He heard me talk to David. Marko and Paul flew the pups to the cave, and then came back for their bikes. Sirius and Regulus are as much theirs as they are mine now because they were turned into Hellhounds.

I was left to sleep in a silent house. Well, besides the music I was listening to. Having a menstrual cycle is one thing I won't miss once I feed.

Who is Tom Wilks?

The morning of the fourth day, I finally felt better. The Red Tide had receded. I took a nice, long hot shower. Cleaned my house, did the laundry, and went grocery shopping. I stopped by the butcher's shop and restocked a week's worth of food for my wolves. I went home and put everything away, and watched some tv. I had put on the movie, 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith', and it got me thinking. 'What were those guys looking for?' Those guys practically thrashed the house. Maybe what they were looking for was very well hidden, like this movie I'm watching.

I got up and looked around my house, I mean, really looked. Is there a section of a wall that is a slightly different shade of color than the rest of the room? Does this place have a basement, but the door is hidden? Or is there a hidden room that's not on the blueprints? I was on the first floor walking slowly through the hall when the guys walked in. They watched me with a curious expression, "Whatcha doing?" It was Marko who asked. "I was watching an action/spy flick and it got me thinking. Those guys said ole Uncle Tom took something from them and they came to collect. They tore the house apart but didn't find anything. Made me wonder if he had hidden whatever, (I knocked on the wall) inside the house. Like a stash spot."

Finding nothing in the hallway, I moved through the kitchen, then the garage. Running my hand over the walls, stopping at the lone workbench. The workbench wasn't anything special. It had the workstation, shelving on the bottom, and a pegboard on the top. It was the pegboard that threw me off. It wasn't aligned in the center. I felt along the center, and right there at the bottom was a misshapen nail. It was turned to the left. With a little strength, I turned it upwards and heard a click. The left side of the workbench unhinged from the wall like a door, "Shit."

I slowly opened it, waiting for something to jump out at me. When nothing happened, I opened the door further. I took my phone from my pocket and turned on the flashlight. There was a staircase on the right side leading underground. Feeling adventurous, I went down the stairs, not even waiting to see if the guys were following me. At the bottom of the stairs was a door. It was unlocked. I opened that door and found a light switch. I couldn't hold in my excitement, "Holy Shit! New toys!" Three walls, floor to ceiling, filled with guns. I wanted to play with all of them. "M249 SAW. That one is fun to shoot." I moved further around the room, running my fingers over several other machine guns, handguns, then I stopped. I will deny it until the day I die, I did not squeal like a schoolgirl when I saw, "A Grenade Launcher! Oh, I'm so playing with that one!"

I heard laughter from behind me. I turn to see all four of them in the room with me, looking over all the guns, ammunition, and other assortments of stuff. Amongst the artillery was a bookshelf. I left the guns alone and scanned the shelf. There were a few books covering a weapons depot. Some were written about what Area 51 was really used for. I rolled my eyes at those. Conspiracy theories. The last few books looked like the rest of them but talked about Interdimensional Travel. "No way," I pulled one of the books off the shelf. It wasn't a book, it was a hand-written journal. Same with the other three. Whoever Tom worked for before he died was experimenting with Interdimensional Travel.

I was skimming over the books when it dawned on me, "Matthius is Thomas Wilks." I whispered to myself. "What baby?" Paul was the closest one to me. "I...Uh, found what they were looking for. It's these journals on Interdimensional Travel. Written by Thomas Wilks. And it just clicked. Matthius is the one to bring me to your dimension. What if Matthius is Thomas Wilks?"

A sound of someone slowly clapping was heard from the stairwell, "Brava. Took you less time than I thought it would. Well, after a little encouragement." Matthius walked out of the shadows and into the room. "You? You sent those guys after me?" I was pissed. I didn't care if he was the oldest vampire in the room, I wanted to launch myself at him. Tear his heart out with my bare hands. "They held a gun to Laddie's head. I almost lost my wolves, and almost died. And for what?! To find these journals that you could've just handed to me." "Yes, but where's the fun in that?" Matthius smiled maliciously before vanishing. His laughter echoed throughout the house.

"Dick," Was the only thing I said. It seemed to break the tension momentarily causing small snickers from everyone. I took a few deep breaths before taking the journals and running upstairs, all the way to the den. If I can get the equations entered into my computer, maybe I can run the program to get them to work. If I do get them to work, do I want to leave this dimension? Would I be leaving it alone?
