A/N: I'm not in my happy place right now. That's no fault of anyone's here, but I have gone down a dark path in some of my writings. Please forgive me and enjoy this really, really, really short one-shot. Please and thank you.

OOOOOOOOOO

The wind whipped her hair in front of her face as she ran through the night. Where once she was all right with the darkness, she was now terrified. She had no idea that such evil lived in the city that she loved so much. Though it did answer the reason why it was the murder capitol of the world.

"Dora…"

She could hear the wild laughter behind her. It had been following her for so long now. Ever since she left that blood bath of a party. She'd run from it when she heard it coming. She hadn't wanted to witness more of the violent death that her friends had experienced.

"They're not your friends, Dora…"

"Come play with us…"

"Dora…Dora…Dora…"

Dora closed her eyes and ran blindly down the street. She wished, no prayed, for lights to protect her. If only she could get to the lights, then she would be safe from the creatures that lurked in the darkness.

But they know me by scent. They know me by sight. I will never be able to avoid them forever. Even if I get to the safety that I crave, they win.

She cast a cautious look behind her, not knowing exactly what she'd see. The monsters had been too quick. She hadn't been able to see them when they had attacked her friends at the party on the beach.

All of that blood…the blood curdling screams…Why would God let something so evil happen?

"God has nothing to do with it, pretty…"

"Dora…come play with us…"

"Here kitty, kitty, kitty…"

The unnatural wind that had followed her forced her to a stop and she heard engines revving behind her. It seemed to be coming from all sides, which was impossible. All her rational thoughts went out the window though when she heard that demonic laughter again. She spun in circles, looking for the source.

"Oh, God," she breathed, seeing four different shadows watching her. "God, help me."

A smile crossed the platinum devil's face and his ice blue eyes burned her to the core. "There's no god that can help you now, Dora."

His friends laughed and shifted their weight from foot to foot, coiled and ready to strike. Dora took a step back and trembled.

"Please, please don't hurt me," she begged, feeling her voice shake. "Please, I beg of you. I won't – I won't tell anyone what I saw. I promise! I swear!"

The platinum devil glanced to his left as a wild blond chuckled.

"Ooh, I love it when they beg," the blond said, sounding like a hyena.

"Let us have her," the other blond said, practically keening.

That cold blue gaze turned onto her again. "What do you say, Dora?"

"P-p-please, just let me go home," Dora begged, feeling tears streak down her face.

A cruel smirk touched his lips. "You want to go home?" His face changed. "We can fix that."

Dora screamed and fell into darkness as she was surrounded by those demons of the night.

OOOOOOOO

Dora woke up what felt like moments later, finding herself in a dimly lit cavern. She glanced around wildly, unsure of what had happened. She just knew she had to get out. The girl moved off the broken down couch that she'd been placed on and started searching for a way out.

But something caught her eye.

Something wasn't right.

Dora paused in front of a mirror and put a hand to her mouth to stifle her gasp. Where she had been reflected before in the silver glass, she no longer appeared in it.

I'm a monster!

Dora dropped her hand and screamed in anguish. In answer, the cavern filled with amused laughter and Dora collapsed onto the floor, wishing for an end that now, would never come.

"Welcome to the fold, Little Dora."

OOOOOOOOOOO

A/N: It got the point across, yes? This is something that I've struggled with. But I'm trying to get back into writing projects again. It's hard, but at least I'm not giving up. Right? Please leave a comment in the little box and have a blessed evening. - Scarlet
