"Alright I am out." a sultry feminine voice said then quickly began packing a bag.

"Just like that?" a man growled, "That little witch calls and you jump for her.?"

"Yeah, just like that." she growled back, "She is my best friend and always will be. And her sister, well, I still carry a small flame for her."

With a devilish smirk the woman put on her sunglasses and pulled up her hood heading to the bus stop. It was going to be a long trip by bus from Phoenix, Arizona to Santa Carla, California.

(Sam and The Frogs)

It was a typical day at Frog's Comics. Sales boomed during the day and Sam was visiting the only boys that he was able to make friends with. They shared his love of comics and heroes. But they were eccentric in his opinion. They believed in Vampires, Shapeshifters, Ghosts, and Werewolves. And on top of that they fully believed that The Lost Boys, his sister's boyfriends, and that girl Star, Mike's girlfriend, were all bloodsucking vampires. There was a lot that they said that made sense. Like how they're never seen during the day, ever, like never. But then again, and this was just his opinion, what if they had day jobs in the next town over? But Edgar and Alan were so sincere that they were vampires. If anything needed to be a vampire, Sam wanted it to be that Max guy his mother was dating. There was something about him that rubbed him the wrong way. He knew that it did not settle well with Athena either. He had seen how she had clammed up after meeting him when he came to pick up their mom the first time. Even Mike had become quite cool towards him when he came back for another date. Hell, even grandpa would not come out of his taxidermy room to even meet him. Nanook would growl every time he came over and then would scamper up the stairs away from him.

"Guys, look, I don't know about Star and the guys being vampires but I do think that maybe that guy Max is one." Sam said.

"The video store owner?" Alan asked with a raised brow.

"Yeah. He's never seen during the day, ever. He would not come in our house until he was invited in. My sister, Athena, has a sense about people and after meeting him the first time she shut down. She wants nothing to do with him. Even Nanook doesn't like him." Sam explained.

"The dog might be on to something. Always trust your animals." Edgar groused, "We'll come up with something."

"But your sister's boyfriends are still undead." Alan said suddenly.

"Whatever you say, Alan." Sam said, rolling his eyes.

(Boardwalk - Evening - Lu and Athena)

Tonight, the girls were at concessions stand ordering up footlong corn dogs and large lemonades. Athena was insistent that they eat here near the bus stop. That was fine with Lucinda. It was near the front of the boardwalk so they would see when the guys got there. Lucinda and Athena had been making plans on how to rid them all of Max. It felt right to get rid of him but at the same time they felt really guilty for their mother. She truly liked Max. The sudden roar of motorcycles pulled them from their thoughts as they watched their boys come riding up. They parked the motorcycles and made their ways over to the girls' table.

No sooner were they sat down did Athena rise as a bus pulled in to the bus stop. Only a handful of people departed the bus and a few climbed on. As the bus pulled off a lone female figure stood at the stop looking at them all. Athena smiled broadly and opened her arms. The figure raced towards her and embraced her. David and Marko looked to Lucinda but she only shrugged, she had no clue what was going on. But the figure looked a little familiar. If they were not covered up so she would probably be able to figure it out. Lucinda stood; her senses told her she knew this person. She moved around the table towards her sister. Wait a minute! Oh my god!

"Kitty?!" Lucinda gasped out just as they stopped before her.

"Hello little light. I missed you." Kitty said and pulled Lucinda in for a kiss.

(Max)

It had been a couple of weeks since his first date with Lucy. They had gone on a few more since then. He had tried to get to speak to Athena but that did not go very well. She simple evaded any him. Even the other children, except Sam, avoided him like he was a mangy dog. Even the dog went out of his way to show his displeasure of his presence. And now Max was losing his patience. If they wouldn't come to him willingly, he was going to make them come unwillingly. His patience would only go so far. Tomorrow night was the last chance. He was going to have dinner at Lucy's. She would not allow them to be rude to him. It would be perfect. He would finally get her elder children under the thrall and everything would be as it should be. Hopefully. Only Athena would be able to avoid the thrall if she was a strong enough witch. And since she knew what he was at the single touch, he had a feeling that she was strong enough.

His mood soured more at that thought. He was hoping to have more time to get Lucy more in love with him but it seemed time would not be on his side. David was also ignoring him. That had also soured his mood even more. Ever since he met with David and told him of his plan to integrate Lucy's children into the family, David has ignored him. With David almost as old as himself, he could ignore him, he could shut him out, and he could shield his brother's. Max did not wish to do it but maybe it was time to dispose of David as well. He was getting too powerful now that he was older. He would have to get rid of Dwayne as well, his age was on up there. Paul and Marko could easily be controlled still. Yes, it was time to clean the house.

(Back with the gang)

"What the fuck!?" spilled from Paul's lips.

A giggle escaped from Athena as Dwayne and Paul looked at Lucinda dubiously. Lucinda pulled away from the girl they now knew as Kitty. Lucinda's face held shock and joy. She obviously had not been expecting her but was happy that she was there just the same. Vampires did not share unless it was meant for them to share. And they were not meant to share Lucinda with this girl.

"Babe, who is this?" Paul asked from his spot.

Athena cleared her throat, "This is Katarina Springs, Kitty to friends. Or lovers. I called her here to help with Max."

"Just how can she help?" David asked her.

"Kitty is just that a kitty." Athena answered.

Kitty turned to them. A queer looked crossed Lucinda's features. She obviously did not know something about her ex-lover. Kitty pulled off her shades and smiled broadly, showing her teeth. Her green eyes glowed a fluorescent yellow-green as her pupils turned to slits and her teeth all shifted from blunt human to dagger like, delicate looking points. David pulled Athena to him and hissed at the Were.

"Don't worry vampy, I'll be a good little kitty." She purred out.

"What kind of Were are you?' David seethed, Were's were dangerous even during their tame period, especially female Were's as they were not bound by the cures as the males were.

"I am a Werecat." She answered.

"Why did you never tell me?" Lucinda whispered.

"Would you have believed me? Would you have stayed if you did?" Kitty answered back.

"I... I don't think I would have." Lucinda answered truthfully.

"That's why I broke things off. I was falling in love and didn't want to put you in the situation." Kitty explained.

Lucinda nodded. That was a wound that had not truly healed. She had really cared for, maybe even loved Kitty. When Kitty had broken up with her it had really hurt. More than any other heartbreak before. Lucinda had truly wanted a full relationship with her. But now she could be able to fully heal. Now that she knew why they had parted ways.

"I forgive you." Lucinda said.

Kitty's eyes welled with tears. She had waited so long to hear those words. She had never wanted to hurt Lucinda. She wanted nothing more than to love her and be together forever. It just wasn't in the cards for them. Especially now that Lucinda was actually a supernatural mate to two Vampires. Speaking of which, blondie rockstar and the native dude were giving her the stink eye. She was theirs now. It broke her heart even more.

"Welcome aboard then Kitty." David said, "I hope you can really help us get rid of Max."

"Oh, I most assuredly can." Kitty responded with an evil grin.

AN: a little shorter than the other's but that's that for now.
