Authors Notes- And here we are with the 14th and final chapter of His Dark Desires. You heard right this is the last chapter, I wish it wasn't so though I really enjoyed working on this fic, and I was more than a little elated to see how well received this story was. Now sure, there will be other TFP fanfics but this one will always be my utmost favorite. Sorry I'm rambling aren't I? Well, anyway as you know I don't own Transformers, they belong to Hasbro I merely borrow them for my own amusement.

Now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter 14!

It was finally over, Miko thought as they arrived at the Autobot base. Relief washing over her as she was greeted by the familiar sight of Ratchet, Jack, and Raf. A fresh wave of tears spilling down her cheeks as Optimus placed her into Ratchet's hands. The normally gruff medic look down at her with concern shining in his optics.

"Oh, Miko..." Ratchet murmured, her normally bright eyes were dull and lifeless. And Ratchet had secretly hoped that Bulkhead had tore Starscream to shreds for what he had done to her.

Turning his gaze on Bulkhead as Bumblebee and Arcee eased him to the floor . The medic cursed under his breath as he took in the damage the wrecker had endured before looking to Miko once more. "You two have suffered through much, haven't you?" he asked.

Miko said nothing as she turned her gaze away from him as Ratchet busied himself. The medic finding himself amazed that Bulkhead was still alive. However, getting him repaired would take time and energy. But ever with that Ratchet doubted if Bulkhead would recover fully, how could he? The damaged was extensive. "These two have been through much, haven't they?" Ratchet muttered, glancing to Optimus.

"More than they should have, old friend." Optimus agreed.

Gritting his teeth Ratchet turned back to the wrecker as he handed Miko to Jack. The boy reassuring him that his mom would help get the girl fixed up. This, Ratchet mused as he pushed his anger aside, would take some time.

A Month Later

"You're looking better." Arcee commented, as she leaned against the door frame of the med bay, drawing Bulkhead's attention.

The green mech offered Arcee a smile before getting to his feet, wincing slightly. Sure, he was practically healed up but there was still a little pain in his right leg and shoulders and Bulkhead found himself walking with a slight limp. And according to Ratchet it was something that the wrecker would have to live with. But what was most noticeable of all? Were the scars on his chestplate something that would also stick with him for a while. A grim reminder of what he endured.

"How are you doing?" Arcee asked, jerking him from his thoughts.

"I'm feeling better, a little stiff in places but compared to Miko I'm fine." He told her.

"Speaking of which have you seen Miko lately?" Arcee asked. She had known that Miko had spent time away from the base to recover from her own injuries.

Bulkhead shook his head, his fuel pump skipping a beat at the mere mention of his best friend. That was all she was, Bulkhead had told himself over and over again as he recovered. He forced himself to believe that, that he and Miko could be nothing but friends, like they had always been."

"Bulkhead?" Arcee asked, jerking him from his thoughts by waving a hand in front of his face. "You okay there? You kind of zoned out there."

Smiling sheepishly Bulkhead nodded, rubbing the back of his head. "Do you know how she's doing?" he asked after a while.

Arcee nodded, giving him a reassuring smile. "Jack tells me she is doing well, in fact she's coming back in a few days. I'm sure she'll be happy to see you."

At that Bulkhead felt his fuel pump flutter slightly as he nodded at her. A smile of his own creeping to his faceplate. "I look forward to seeing her too, maybe when she gets here we can go for a little ride." He mused, then hastily added upon seeing the stern look on Arcee's faceplate. "Just a drive, a nice, quiet drive no dune bashing or anything like that."

Nodding Arcee gave his shoulder a squeeze before turning away from him and headed for the door. Casting a glance over her shoulder. "You should get some more rest, I'll see you in the morning." And with that she was gone, leaving Bulkhead alone, tomorrow he would be out of here. And eventually back on duty. And, what Bulkhead hoped, was a relatively normal life...

Things would never go back to normal. Miko concluded as she stared at herself in the mirror. At her reflection, to the scars that marred her face. Her fingers trailing at the most noticeable scar on her left cheek. Her thoughts going back to her time in the hospital, remembering when Agent Fowler had told her Host Parents what happened. Well, what he had told them was far from the truth, but she knew there was no way the story of her being abducted by a giant alien robot would fly.

So, her story had been changed to being attacked by a group of people who were promptly arrested, but despite that her real parents had insisted on having her come back to Japan. And though she had argued non-stop with them, even pleaded with them to let her stay but in the end she had conceded. And Miko would be going back home at the end of the month. Miko sighed, at least they were giving her time to get her affairs in order before going home. Hearing a honk Miko managed tear her gaze away from the mirror to her bedroom window. She knew exactly who was waiting for her, as always.

Bulkhead... Miko's heart lurched as she thought about her best friend, about all her friends she would be leaving behind. Bulkhead would be the one she would miss the most. Moving towards the window she peered out at the familiar green truck.

"Are you going to go out?" Her Host Mother asked, her Host Father standing behind her, concern shining in their eyes.

Miko nodded, forcing a smile to her face as she moved towards them. "Don't worry, I'll be home soon." She assured them before wrapping their arms around each of them. A hug which they both returned before pulling away. The two of them watching as she descended down the stairs and out the door.

Bulkhead, Miko stopped in her tracks as she looked to him, waiting in his usual spot, looking almost brand new. If not for a few scars adorning his chassis. She watched as he opened the door for her, allowing her to climb in.

"Hey, Bulkhead." She greeted softly, as she buckled up. Silence falling over the two of them. Miko worried at her bottom lip as she struggled to come up with something to say.

Guilt gripping her as she turned to look out the window. Her fingers absentmindedly brushing against the dashboard. The action sending tingles through Bulkhead's chassis. His fuel pump skipping a beat at the touch. "How are you?" he asked, trying to cut through the silence as he pulled away from the house Miko had grown to love.

Her heart twinged as she thought about leaving it. About leaving Bulkhead. Leaving the life she had made for herself behind. Swallowing thickly Miko forcibly pushed those thoughts from her head as silence permeated from the cab.

Things had changed, before all of this the two of them would be chatting non-stop. Chatting away about anything and everything that would be of interest to them, from monster truck derbies, to the recent Slash Monkey album to... anything. Bulkhead missed that, missed hearing her voice chatting on and on, filling the silence. Would they ever be able to go back to the way things were?

"My parents want me to return to Japan at the end of the month." Miko spoke after a long silence.

Bulkhead's fuel pump lurched at that. Of all the thing he had wanted to hear this was the last thing. She was leaving him, not by choice but still... "B-Because of the attack?" he asked, he practically had to force to words out. She was leaving him...

Miko nodded, gaze never leaving the window as he pulled into the Autobot base, allowing Miko to step out as he transformed, his blue optics boring into her brown eyes as they looked at each other. Miko gnawed on her bottom lip as she thought about what she should do, what she should say when-

"You want to go up to the top?" Bulkhead asked after a while. He hated this silence, he wanted, needed to hear her voice, to see her eyes light up once more when she looked up at him. Like she had before. He wanted his Miko back. The old Miko, was that selfish? He pondered, he knew with time Miko would hopefully return to normal. But with Miko leaving so soon he wished she would just be herself. Yes, he thought, he was being selfish. Gritting his teeth he mentally kicked himself.

Shaking his head he stooped down to pick her up, and Miko all but hopped into his open hand. Handling her gingerly Bulkhead headed towards the elevator that would take them to the top.

"So..." Miko started as they stepped out of the elevator when it reached their destination. A warm breeze washing over the two, blowing through Miko's hair, and Bulkhead found himself unable to look away as she tucked a stray strand behind her ear as she turned her gaze to the sight before her.

The sun was sinking behind the mountains, turning the sky a nice shade of orange. "Bulkhead..." Miko started. Still worrying at her bottom lip. "When I leave will we still be friends?"

Bulkhead blinked as she said that. "Of course, why would you say something like that?" he asked, arching an optic ridge at her.

Miko shrugged, looking down at her hands clenched on her lap. "I don't know, it's just after that battle things between us seem strange, strained... But maybe that's just me." She said, as silence once again fell over the duo.

"You and I have been through some shit these last few weeks, so of course things are kind of tense between us. You've been through hell though so I can understand..." That didn't mean it didn't hurt any less to see his girl so broken though, Bulkhead thought.

Miko nodded, her gaze suddenly fixing on him, her eyes taking note of the various scars on his chestplate and arms. Climbing up onto his shoulder, she pressed herself against his cheek, relishing the warmth that radiated from him, a soft smile creeping to her lips as her eyes slid shut. She had so much she wanted to say to him, Starscream's word echoing through her head. Though she would never admit it the Decepticon was right about one thing, right about her feelings towards the wrecker.

She never meant to fall in love with him, and yet... Trailing a finger down the side of his faceplate, yet even she knew it would never work out, she thought she could keep things simple, and keep her feelings for him buried. And keep their friendship as is, and yet somehow Starscream managed to find them out despite her trying to keep them bottled up.

"No matter what you and I," Bulkhead said, as they gazed out at the sunset, a small serene smile on his faceplate. "Will always be friends, no matter where we are." His finger trailed against her cheek, Miko letting out a small sigh as she leaned into his touch.

Tears she had fought so hard to hold back spilled down her cheeks. Friends until the end. That was all she could ask for, what either of them could ask for. As long as they had each other that was all that mattered...

Authors Note- And finally I bring you guys the final chapter of His Dark Desires. And now that I have completed it I must say this story went a whole different direction than I had initially planned. Is that a bad thing? Well, actually no, in my eyes this turned out far better. Sure, I decided to go the unrequited romance route between Bulkhead and Miko but I think it fits. I blame this on the fact that I have on more than one occasion have written more than one story where the romantic party had gotten together in the end. I decided to switch it up this time around. And I'm glad I did, this ending, to me was perfect.

But I'm rambling a little too much aren't I? I should wrap this up before the AN becomes longer than the fic. I want to thank all of you who were kind enough to review this fic over the FOUR years it took me to write it. You are beyond wonderful, and I hope to see some of you in the next Transformers stories I come up with. Once again thank you, and this is Black Jack signing out. Have a wonderful night, I love you all.
