Chapter 2
The next morning, Roxanne was awake at 9 am and starting on breakfast not even ten minutes after awaking up. She made a simple meal of oatmeal and sausage links since she wanted a light meal since she would be doing a lot of heavy lifting. Finishing breakfast, Roxy grabbed some dried herbs to make a new smoke mix for her Japanese pipe. Using her mortar and pestle, she ground to flakes a mix of dried Passionflower, Wild Dagga, Spearmint, Peppermint and Lavender. The mix would help calm her temper and senses while sharping her mind. The calming effect along with sharping her mind would allow her to not react with her temper first but to think before acting. Opening a small cloth bag, she spooned the dried herbal mix inside before storing it in her pants pocket.
Placing the last spoonful into her pipe, she lite it before walking to her bedroom to dress for the day. Removing her tank top, Roxy revealed her modest B-cup breasts and her back tattoo of a black cat with fiery paws crossing over her shoulders. Taking a puff off her herbal long stem pipe, Roxanne dropped her shorts before placing her pipe down on her dresser. Stepping into her closet, Firebrand pulled out a black shirt with a white cat on it before grabbing a pair of black leather pants. Leaving her closet, she tossed her clothes onto her bed so she could open her dresser for a bra and panties.
Clasping her bra together, Roxy straightened it before pulling on her black panties than grabbing her black leather pants off the bed. Slipping into them, she zipped them shut than pulled on her shirt before reaching for her pipe. Taking a few puffs off her pipe, Roxy headed outside to start working on putting together her forge for metal working. It was about a little after ten am as she stepped outside and walked over to the small shed on the property that she owned. She planned to build the forge outside the shed to the side so that the fire wouldn't risk burning the shed down with the rest of her tools inside.
She planned to make a propane forge and a coal burning forge for her metal working. The propane forge would the easiest to make since it would only take a few items and several steps. But the coal forge would require much more material to make it since it had to be much bigger and studier. That would take longer so she would start on the propane forge before starting to lay the brick work for the coal forge. Roxy planned to have the coal forge brick work done and let the cement start drying by night fall.
Finishing off her pipe, she dumped the ashes before cracking her back and grabbed her material and set to work on the propane forge. Working steadily, she had the propane forge finished in about two hours and had it going for at least a half hour to make sure it was set up properly. It was better to run it so any kinks could be fixed before she went to use it. Better to fix the issues right away than let them sit and get worse for when she really needed the forge.
Grabbing a bit of scrap metal, she placed it into the heated forge to see how long it would take to heat the metal to red hot. Setting a stop watch, she began to trace out a spot for the coal forge to go while waiting for the metal to heat. Knowing how long it took to heat the metal would help her know kind of about how hot the forge ran and times to heat the different types of metal. Knowing all this would allow her to better gage how long it would take to do a project based on the metal type and what it was. The coal forge would take longer but it would also craft some unique pieces.
Checking the metals, Roxy smiled as she noticed a few had already turned red hot so she carefully removed them with metal tongs. Walking away, Roxanne grabbed her shovel and began to remove the first layer of soil over her outline on the ground. Her foundation would be better if she removed the grass and leveled the dirt out to make it more even ground and flat. Once that was done, she checks the last two metals before removing them than began to shut off the propane to the forge. It would cool down on its own while she returned to her task of laying the foundation for the coal forge.
Once everything was level and all set to go, Roxy checked the time on her watch before she decided to stop for a small break. Heading into her cottage home, Roxy began to put together everything for a beef roast with potatoes and carrots that would be her dinner. She was doing a large amount so that she could have left overs for a few days. Once the roast was ready, she placed it into the heated oven and headed back outside. Several hours passed with her working on the coal forge's brick work to house it. She was so busy working that she didn't even notice that the sun had already set.
Lost Boys POV
The boys woke as the sun set below the horizon before leaving their cave home with Star and Laddie. Star was a beautiful gypsy girl who was a half vampire while Laddie was a cute little boy who was also a half vampire. They planned to stop at the boardwalk to drop off Star and Laddie before heading to feed. After they feed, they would seek out Marko's mate to learn more about the female but first they had to drive to the boardwalk on their bikes.
After a few minutes, they arrived at the boardwalk to which David handed Star some money for her and Laddie to eat human food since half vampires still needed it even if it didn't taste that good. Walking away from the two, the boys disappeared into the crowd to find victims to feed on. Spotting a few Surf Nazis gang members, the boys exchanged smirks before they picked a fight in a dark alley. Quickly the fight was over with the Lost Boys drinking from the Surfers before taking flight to dump the bodies in the ocean. Once that was done, they returned to the alley and walked out to head back to their bikes.
Marko was vibrating with energy since he couldn't wait to see his mate again. Reaching their bikes, David lite a smoke only to signal the guys to wait since he spotted Star and Laddie on their way to them. Dwayne calmly helped Laddie onto his bike before nodding towards a young Brunet male who had been following Star and was staring shocked as she climbed onto David's bike. David looked over and smirked before he snuffed out his smoke and smirked at the kid before signally the others to head out. They tore off into the night heading to Marko's mate with Star and Laddie in toe.
David had planned to let the two halves stay on the boardwalk while they sought out Marko's mate but that changed so he would stop a ways from her cottage to explain something to Star and Laddie. A few minutes from Roxy's cottage, David telepathy told the others to stop before he looked over his shoulder at Star. "Star, I know you hate being a Vampire and being with us but if you fuck this up, I will allow Marko to kill you. We as vampires have someone who is destined to be our mate. Marko has found his yesterday and is currently courting her. So don't get in the way of that or he has the right to kill you if you mess up things with his Mate, Roxanne." He said darkly. He wanted her to understand that Mates were something important to vampires. Even if it was something that they all were learning about since none had meet their Mate till yesterday when Marko meet his.
Star nodded silently to David's order but she did have some questions that she would be asking later back at the cave. Starting his bike back up, David tore off towards Roxanne's cottage with the other following his lead. Marko couldn't wait to see his red haired mate again and learn more about her as he began to court her. He hoped and prayed that she didn't end up like Star because that would be such a kill joy for him.
They broke through the trees onto a driveway before coming to a stop a few feet from the cottage. Turning off their bikes, they noticed that Roxanne was busy at work cementing bricks together near the shed. Marko climbed off his bike and headed towards her with Paul on his heels to see what she was making. "Hey Rox, what you making?" Paul asked. Looking up Roxanne waved as she set the last brick into place as they gathered around her.
Roxanne's POV
"Hey guys. I am making my coal forge." She said as she grabbed a small towel to wipe the sweat from her face. She noticed two new faces among the group, a beautiful girl and a little boy. David spoke before she could even ask. "Roxy this is Star and Laddie. They are a part of our group." He said. Roxy smiled and waved at Laddie who was partly hidden behind Dwayne before she smiled at Star. Before she could speak to the other female, her stomach growled making her blush. "Awe, crap guess I was so busy I forgot to eat dinner. Have you all eaten?" she asked. Star bites her lips before speaking up. "We haven't eaten yet." She said softly. Roxy nodded as she turned towards her cottage. "Well than come join me for dinner. I made to much and food is better when you share it." She said softly as she opened the door to the cottage. Not knowing about them being vampires and half vampires, she invited them inside before heading into the kitchen.
Soon they were all seated in her living room enjoying beef roast with potatoes and carrots. The boys shamelessly asked for seconds which Roxy just shook her head and said it was ok. Laddie was a cute kid who was shy but as they ate, he began to warm up slowly to Roxy.
Star's POV
Star watched the other female and Marko's reactions to Roxy. He was calm in a way that Star hadn't seen him before yet she knew he was still deadly as ever. She would have to ask her questions at the cave but for now she would get to know the other woman.
