![]() Author has written 16 stories for Mortal Kombat, and Shokugeki no Soma/食戟のソーマ. Oh, hi! Never thought someone would read these, but welcome! Here are some things you probably wonder about this potato author a.k.a me (or not): 1. Is that your real name? Of course Madeline is not my real name. The purpose of that is only to make it easier to address me rather than my previous username (I mean, Crankypants? LOL). 2. What is your nationality? I'm born and raised Indonesian, so if you are one and happen to be reading my stories, don't hesitate to hit me up and speak or review in Bahasa! It'll make me a one, merry girl :) 3. Favorite genre of fic to write? Well it should've been obvious, eh? I mostly write romance. Like, fluffy, happy ending stuff. I also have recently grown to appreciate angsty fics after Akai Ito and its spin offs like Akai Ito: Fear because of how they drive me to be in touch with my sadder side. They're still hard to write and it takes energy, but the result is so worth it to me. Plus, I didn't realize Akai Ito is an angsty fic until someone pointed it out 4. Where do you get your ideas? I can be inspired by a lot of things, actually. Sometimes it could come from something so random that it suddenly just hits you like, "Ah, this could be good to write!" before I start typing down ideas on my phone. I also could come up with ideas during various moments from watching a movie to a boring work meeting. Though I gotta say that I couldn't write shit if it wasn't for my fiance (which to this day, hasn't read any of my fics lol). 5. What is your writing process like? It all depends on the length. With Akai Ito, it was a veeeery tedious process. It was the first time I make drafts for every chapter, a separate file for brainstorming ideas and another file for poems inspiration. And lemme tell ya, Akai Ito was tough to edit! Even now that I re-read if, my fingers are itching to edit For shorter fics, I just let the ideas out and edit as I go. 6. Which one is your favorite fic to write? I genuinely enjoy writing Late Night Lullabies purely because I love how youthful and refreshing the plot is, at least to me. For Akai Ito, I like how dedicated I was with that fic. I knew it was gonna be a climb and I climbed like hell. I even draft while I was waiting for my turn for a job interview! 7. What get you into writing fic? My whole life, I always make up stories in my head about things I'm into, but I didn't realize I was creating my own fanfiction until I find out that such thing existed. I started by reading tons of them, but with an encouragement from my dear friend MartengaPop, I started writing my ideas down and quickly find myself immersed in this writing world. I think it's because I often find myself unable to speak my mind orally-- I don't know, like my brain is a messy constellation of jumbled words that they often get caught in the speaking process. That's why I feel most comfortable writing my feelings out, I guess. When I write something down, I feel like the words flow better and my message got across-- at least that's what I hope. 8. What are your fandoms? Currently, it's just Mortal Kombat and Shokugeki no Soma, and for those requesting me to write for another fandom that I'm barely familiar with, I don't think I could do it since I'm not that majestic of an author yet. I only write what I like to write and what I'm passionate about, and I think that should be a good foundation for any fic-writing activities to make the outcome successful.
