Luz went to find Amity. She would explain the situation to Principal Bump if she had to miss class. She looked everywhere in the Boiling Isles but she was nowhere to be found. She even checked Amity's house to see if she was there. No luck. There was one final place she didn't check: The Emperor's Coven Theatre. She looked around, it was empty. No fans, nothing. Eventually, she spots Amity in one of the entrances where competitors are supposed to come out of in a corner by herself.

"Amity? I thought I heard you back there at school. What happened?" Luz asked.

"Come to rub salt in the wound?" Amity asked.

"What?" Luz asked.

"Don't pretend. You know what I'm talking about." Amity told her looking away.

"I don't." Luz said.

"Stop lying. You do." Amity said.

"I don't. I really don't."

"Fine. I'll tell you since your memory seems to not be working. 'Tú eres mi amiga.' Remember that?"

"Yeah, but what does that have to do with-"

"Or what about when you tried to befriend me all of those times before? Or the Good Witch of Azura books? You only did all of that because it made you feel less guilty."

"What? Where did you hear all of that?"

"The guidance counselor. You don't have to pretend anymore Luz."

"But I didn't say any of-"

Amity snapped and walked towards Luz, who was backpedaling. "Stop it! Stop lying to me! Even when you're caught you can't help yourself but try to wiggle your way out of it. Everything that you've done and told me was a lie! You're a bully Luz."

Amity was in tears now. "But I'm going to make sure you can't hurt or lie to anyone else."

"Abominations! Rise!"

"Amity, you look older." Luz said, noticing the wrinkles on her face and rings around her eyes.

"Now you want to insult my appearance?"

"I'm not going to fight you Amity!"

"Then that just makes things so much easier."

Danny searched the entire Boiling Isles until he heard some noise in the Coven Theatre. He flew upward to get a better view to see what was happening, going invisible just in case as well.

Luz was punched by one of the abominations, knocking her down. Another abomination picker her up and sent her into a wall, sticking her to it with its goo.

"Amity, I don't know what I did. But whatever it was, I'm sorry. I really am." Luz said, looking down and closing her eyes.

"Apologies can't save you now Luz." Amity said with little to no emotions in her voice. "Abominations, finish her."

"Apologies might not, but I can!" Danny said, knocking one of the abominations out.

"You." Amity said, venom in her voice.

"Yeah. Me." Danny said, blasting the other abomination.

"Danny! What are you doing here?" Luz asked.

"You guys were gone for a while so I thought something was wrong. Turns out I was right. And right on schedule too." He said as he freed her by making her intangible as well.

"Listen Amity. I don't want to fight you. How about we just sit down, talk and figure out what's going on." Danny said.

"Funny. Because I want to fight you!" Amity said.

"Abominations, rise!" Amity said, conjuring over twenty abominations.

"We've done this twice already. We know what the result is going to be. Stop this, now!" Danny told her.

"I don't care. If seeing you hurt makes Luz suffer then I'm all for it." Amity responded.

"Abominations. Grab him!"

Danny dodges their attempts, flying into one and completely disemboweling it. He blasts another, causing it to lose its head and just fall over. He runs into one and it grabs him. It laughs. He goes intangible and just phases through its hands. It sports a surprised look before getting knocked into a wall and splattering. Four more try to dogpile him but he phases through them again and he just blasts them all, covering Luz and Amity in their goo. Amity spits some of it out as some of it landed in her mouth.

"Abominations. Combine!" The remaining thirteen combine to make one giant abomination. It tries to step on Luz. But it was a lost cause. All Danny did was make her intangible too and put her out of harms way before he used a mixture of blasts, cryokinesis and just flying through certain parts of its body to take it apart piece by piece. Soon, it fell. The entire theatre was filled with abomination goo.

"Thanks for saving me Danny." Luz said, smiling.

"No problem." Danny said, smiling back.

"Ugh, get a room you two." Amity told them.

"Okay Amity, what's your problem?" Danny asked.

"Tell him Luz." Amity told her.

"Tell him what?" Luz asked.

"Tell him what the guidance counselor told me that you said." Amity said.

"Guidance counselor?" Danny asked. Before he could say anything else, Luz started to talk.

"Mabel? She told you what I said?" Luz asked surprised.

"Stop acting surprised, Luz. She told me that you only wanted to befriend me because it made you feel less guilty. You never really wanted to become my friend." Amity told Danny.

"But I never said any of that. I told her how you were caring, nice, sweet." Luz said.

"I heard all of that already. I overhead you talking to the guidance counselor again. If you're trying to day that to butter me up it won't work."

"I also said how you were a hard worker. If there's one other person other than Eda that I want to be like here it's you."

"Skip to the part where you said you have feelings for Danny." Amity said, looking even older.

"What?" Danny and Luz said simultaneously.

"Amity, you're getting older." Danny noticed.

"Not you too." Amity said oblivious to the fact that she actually was looking older.

"No, Amity you really are. And it's getting worse." Luz said.

"Just admit it Luz. You were about to tell Mabel that you weren't interested in- in-" Amity stopped. She was losing even more of her youth as she said that. Her skin was starting to become less vibrant. Those words lingered in her mind, but by saying them, it made her feel even worse.

"I don't feel so good. Just- just tell the truth Luz. Just this once." She coughed. "That's all… I ask." Amity said, getting weaker.

"That I wasn't interested in him. That's all I said." Luz said.

"But I thought you-" Amity started.

"You didn't hear all of it. I was trying to figure out how to tell you that I wasn't interested in him that way. He's cool but I only see him as a friend. And an awesome kick-butt superhero."

"Really? Then what about-" Amity coughs again. "All that stuff Mabel said?" Amity finished, her voice getting lower.

"Please don't talk anymore, Amity. You're losing more energy. I don't know where you got any of that from, but I never said or did any of that. When I was in school in the human world, I didn't have any friends to talk to. I didn't fit in. When I found you guys, I finally found a place where I could be me. Where I wouldn't get laughed at or shunned. Not because I was a bad person, but because I was different. Why would I ever try to lose the chance to make friends, when I never really had them back home?"

"I'm sorry L-Luz. I judged you. I… didn't give you a chance. But I promise…" Amity said starting to trail off. "It won't happen again. Tú… eres mi amiga Luz." Amity said as her last words before she started to lose consciousness.

"Tú eres mi amiga Amity. Now and forever." Luz said as she started to cry. Luz was beginning to slowly age too.

Back at the school Penelope began to feel stronger than ever. The vibrant star student of the school and now Luz, a girl that seemed to always have energy, and could seem to never not be happy? She began to believe that she would like it here in the Boiling Isles. A lot.

Danny yelled out of frustration and anger. He punched a wall. "How could I not find her?" He punched it again. "How could I be so stupid?" Punch. "She was right under my nose and I didn't see her!" Punch. How? How? How!? He thought to himself, punching the wall between each how. The last punch was so hard a part of the wall came off. He believed he had failed. If he had just been paying attention and not goofing off with Tucker, he would have seen her and none of this would have happened. Amity would still be here and Luz wouldn't be crying now that she lost a friend.

After a few minutes of breathing heavily, he calmed down and reverted. He sat. Holding his head on his hands under his chin. He didn't know what to do. He still had no clue on where Penelope was, and who knows how many more students she's talked to. He doesn't know where Vlad is. For all he knows, Vlad could have left him to be trapped here forever. And he failed Luz and Amity. Luz most importantly. She saw him as a hero, and he failed. Heroes are supposed to protect those that can't protect themselves. And he didn't. How could he ever call himself a hero again? Danny was starting to slowly lose his youth too.

Eda and Lilith flew down into the arena. Even when they arrived Luz still wouldn't stop crying.

"Luz! Amity! Oh dear. What happened?" Lilith asked Danny.

"Penelope happened. Apparently, she lied to Amity and made it as if Luz never really cared about her." Danny told them.

"Oh, kid." Eda went to comfort Luz. "This is my fault. It was my idea to keep a look out outside of the school. What was I thinking? If we would have stayed, we would have-"

"There was nothing you could have did Eda. It's my fault. If I would have snuffed out Penelope sooner, none of this would have happened." Danny told her.

Luz stopped crying for a second but was still aging. "But she's not here. Only Mabel is…" Luz gasped. "Mabel is Penelope. How did I not see that? Ugh, I'm such an idiot!" She said, face palming.

"Ain't that the truth." Amity said, coughing but starting to feel better. She was starting to regain her youth.

"Amity?" Luz said, sniffing. Danny stood up.

"In the flesh."

"How did you-" Luz started.

"When you cried. I lost consciousness. I really thought I was done for. I had no energy left. But I heard you cry. No one's ever felt that emotional towards me before. And it really got to me." Amity said, smiling.

"Oh Amity. Come here BFF." Luz said. She wasn't losing anymore youth but she still wasn't her normal vibrant self.

The two hugged. "I'm sorry Amity."

"No. I'm sorry Luz. I should have listened to you. I let my emotions get the best of me."

They released from one another. "Still friends?" Amity asked.

"Still friends." Luz said as the two held their palms in the other's. Luz's youth was back completely.

"I'm… sorry to you too Danny." Amity said, rubbing the back of her head with one hand. "I should have gave you a chance. You're a really cool guy and a really good person."

"Don't forget about being a kick-butt superhero!" Luz said, doing a kicking motion, almost losing her balance trying to keep her leg in the air.

"That too. I hope we can start over and be friends. For real this time." Amity said.

"Come on you two hug it out." Luz said.

Amity and Danny hugged.

"Still. I don't know where to start. If I was able to find her initially I would have been able to stop her before any of this happened." Danny told them.

Superhero motivational speech. Here we go! Luz thought, breathing.

Luz looked Danny straight in the eye. "Danny, listen. I may not be a superhero. I may not have powers. I may not be able to do martial arts or use gadgets like Batman. I may not know how to drive. I may be all but terrible at sports. And I may need to catch up on the Marvel movies and memes. But I do know when it is time for a motivational speech!" She started.

"There are just some things that no one can do alone. Even if you tried your hardest, you still may have not been able to find her. You can't stay up 24/7 and you can't be everywhere at once."

"Actually, I can create copies of myself." Danny interjected.

"Not the point! We'll find her Danny. If we do it together." She said confidently, fists on her hips. She imagined herself with a cape like a real superhero with some motivational music for her theme song as well. Until she got interrupted with Danny talking.

"But I failed, Luz. You counted on me to protect you guys and I couldn't do that. Sure you guys are fine, but what if you weren't." Danny told her looking down and starting to age more.

"I kinda thought one speech would have worked and that would have been it. But I guess not. Listen, Danny." She said grabbing Danny on the shoulders. "And listen good." She then starts to shake him as he still tried to look away. Time to go with the stern mom voice.

"Look at me when I'm talking to you mister!" Danny looked up, slowly getting more and more wrinkly.

Sheesh, maybe that was a bad idea. Luz thought after looking at him.

"What's gotten into you? You make one mistake in… I don't know how long since you last made a mistake and you automatically just want to tap out? No one's perfect. Everybody makes mistakes! Even superheroes! Superheroes were and still are just normal people too under that mask… or costume in your case. Unless you're the X-Men, or Superman, or Martian Manhunter, or…" She stopped herself. "Getting carried away. Anyway, your mistakes are part of what make you who you are. You obviously shouldn't try to make mistakes, but you should strive to be a better person after those mistakes. Besides, if a hero was just perfect in every way, you couldn't relate to them at all. They wouldn't be interesting! Now are you going to sit there and sulk or are you going to get out there, find Penelope and kick her ghostly tail?" Luz asked.

Danny couldn't help but laugh. "That… definitely was not a well-oiled speech at all. But it helped. I definitely got the message. Thanks Luz." Danny told her, regaining his youth. Then he went ghost. (A/N: If this was the show, the transformation would slow and exaggerated with each part of his body to show that he was back).

"First things first. We need to figure out exactly what's going on. You guys went to an office, but I didn't see any of that." Danny said.

"There were flyers too. You're saying you didn't see any of those?" Amity asked.

"No." Danny said.

"Maybe she used an illusion spell." Luz speculated. "It's just speculation though. I'm probably wrong."

"No, you're actually on to something Luz." Lilith told her.

"Maybe she used an illusion spell where only demons and humans could see the door and flyers." Eda said.

"But Danny's a human. He could have seen the door." Amity said.

"But I'm also half-ghost. I probably couldn't see it because of my ghost side. She knew I was here, so she did that to throw me off track."

"But how does she know how to do spells?"

"She doesn't. But someone else does. She may have overshadowed someone that knows illusion magic to perform the spell needed." Danny informed them. "All I need is to overshadow someone that's an expert in illusions and undo the spell."

"Sounds like a plan." Luz said.

"While I do that and face off against her, someone needs to make sure all of the students keep their youth."

"I'll do it." Luz and Amity said together.

"Let's do it…" Luz started. "Together." Amity and Luz said simultaneously.

"Vlad's been gone for a while too. I have a feeling Penelope and Vlad will be around the same area. We find Penelope, we find Vlad."

"You're going to need some help getting back home when this is all said and done. We'll help you do that." Eda said.

"Then its settled. Let's do this, guys." Danny said confidently.
