PROFILE UPDATED JAN 2, 2021

Hi. If you're reading this, I have no way of knowing if you've read my stories before or if this is your first time here. What I have to say can apply to both groups, though.

There was a spiel here about me fighting depression and coming out the other end of it. I'm happy to say I mostly accomplished that, but the pandemic has added a whole new level of stress and anxiety that I'm sure many of you are intimately familiar with. I'm still trying to write as much as I can, but it's still a struggle at times. Plus I'm focusing a lot more on original work these days.

What this boils down to is roughly the same as before: I'm continuing to let myself go wherever my fancy strikes me, instead of trying to maintain focus on one or two projects at a time. This has worked for me so far, so I'm not going to change it. I understand this is hardly ideal for anyone wanting to read what I've written, since it means I could be posting all kinds of different things instead of updating that one story you want to read, but sad to say, it's that or nothing at all. This is how I keep writing fresh and fun for myself, instead of having it become a chore, which typically means I stop doing it for months at a time, and that's not good for anybody.

Also, seeing as I've been focusing a lot on Harry Potter fiction lately, I thought it might be a good idea to lay out some organization here. I basically have four different timelines/continuities going, so here they are (there are slight spoilers here for some of the fics in question, so if you're worried about that, don't look, or at least don't read any of the descriptions):

TIMELINE A: The "Main" Timeline

This is basically the timeline that exists in canon that I have added to. For the purposes of my works, "canon" refers to:

-the 7 published books

-the Fantastic Beasts films

-the DH epilogue

-any short stories or vignettes written by Rowling herself

"Canon" does NOT include:

-The Cursed Child

-the 8 WB movies

"Canon" MAY include (in other words, depending on how well it fits in with the rest, and whether or not I think it's dumb):

-"Daily Prophet articles

-Interviews or tweets or other statements made by JKR but not mentioned in the books

-Random trivia from Pottermore

The fics that currently inhabit this timeline are:

Breaking Assumptions - Based around James and Lily's time at school, starting with their first year

Chapter 37 - An addendum to the end of Deathly Hallows that I felt was missing from the book (immediately following Ch. 36)

Harry Potter and the Order of Merlin - The story of the first year after the war from Harry's point of view, written in the style of the novels

Conversations With a Hat - The Sorting Ceremony from the perspectives of numerous important and peripheral characters. Currently includes years 1971 and 1991

This timeline is considered the "default" that all 3 of the others deviate from.

TIMELINE B: The "Survival" Timeline

This is a timeline in which Lily and James were not killed on Hallowe'en 1981. The deviation from Timeline A occurs on that night.

Fics that currently make up this timeline are:

I'll Hold Him Off - An account of that fateful night, in which James does not leave his wand on the couch

The Potters Who Lived - The very existence of this fic is sort of a spoiler for the previous one, but it explores what happens after

Mars Is Bright Tonight - Covers the period following the end of the first war, beginning with the aftermath of The Potters Who Lived.

TIMELINE C: The "Ginny" Timeline

This is a timeline in which Ginny goes to the Yule Ball with Harry. The deviation from Timeline A occurs the night Ron suggests she go with him, though the actual deviation occurs off-page, in that Neville has not yet asked her to go with him. This is the timeline that will probably be receiving the least attention from me, and it only has one story so far:

You Can Go With Harry, and I'll Just... - Explores how the events of the books might have played out had Ginny and Harry gone to the ball together and started getting closer before they did in canon

TIMELINE D: The "Peggie Sue" Timeline

This is a timeline in which Harry mysteriously wakes up in his eleven year old body despite being 23 and engaged. There are two points of deviation from Timeline A: the last night he was an adult, and the morning he wakes up as a child.
