Dawa woke and turned away from the sun and then Appa groaned causing a hyper active ball of energy ran at him.

Aang Shacked "Dawa! Appa! Are you two all right? Wake up, buddy." Appa leans down and opens one of the beasts eyes. He closes it again. Aang hops down and tries to lift the animal's huge head, but without effect. Katara and Sokka come around the corner and their mouths drop in shock as the see the monster, whose mouth opens and licks the boy trying to wake him up. Dawa on the other hand slid down the Bisons tail and Yawned at the siblings.

"Morning," He said, waving.

Aang cheered "Haha! You're okay!" Dawa stopped, Aang pushed him to hug Appa, then looked around the destroyed iceberg. Appa occupies most of the crater left by the explosion. He is a huge flying bison with six legs and horns like a steer. He gets up and shakes himself off a bit.

Sokka started. "What is that thing?" He asked, more confused than terrified.

Aang smiled. "This is Appa, my flying bison." He introduced and decided to introduce Dawa who still looked like he hadn't slept in the last hundred years. "This is Dawa, my brother," Dawa waved at the two with a big grin.

Sokka looked at them with disbelief. "Right. And this is Katara, my flying sister." Aang is about to reply, but doesn't as Appa begins to sneeze. Aang ducks in time as Appa proceeds to sneeze, Dawa launched Sokka out of the way before he landed on his

Sokka rubbed the place. "At least I'm not covered in snot." He looked his glove to see that he landed in said snot. "Oh come on!"

Aang Asked reassuring sokka. "Don't worry. It'll wash out."

Dawa then added. "It makes a great fly catcher."

Sokka was more disgusted. "Ugh!"

Aang looked around. "So, do you guys live around here?"

Sokka placed his spear in front of Katara and then pointed it at them. "Don't answer that! Did you see that crazy bolt of light? He was probably trying to signal the Fire Navy." Dawa laughed at the idea.

Katara rolled her eyes at her brother. "Oh, yeah, I'm sure he's a spy for the Fire Navy. You can tell by that evil look in his eye."

Both put their heads together giving them the most innocent smile, even if Aang was cutter.

Katara smiled. "The paranoid one is my brother, Sokka. You never told us your name." Dawa looked at Aang him to introduce himself first."

Aang started to speak. "I'm A... aaaahhhh... ahhhhhh... aaah aaah aaah AAAAAAACHOOOO!" Aang sneezed and he zoomed off the ground far into the air.

Dawa started counting. "One, two, three." He came back down slowly hovering down.

Aang then told the water tibe. "I'm Aang." Dawa offered his rob for Aang to rub his nose.

Sokka paranoia came. "You just sneezed... and flew ten feet in the air." Dawa looked at Sokka raising a brow.

Aang Aang looked up. "Really? It felt higher than that."

Dawa spoke up. "It was sixteen feet."

Katara Gasped at her realization. "You're airbenders!"

Aang smiled. "Sure am."

Dawa "Masters at that, we both cheated." Aang chuckled scratching the back of his head,

Sokka started listing the strange things. "Giant light beams... flying bison... airbenders... I think I've got Midnight Sun Madness. I'm going home to where stuff makes sense."

Dawa looked at the sky. "No, that only happens during the midday." Sokka turns to walk off, but is stopped at the iceberg's edge. He stared at the ocean in front of him

Aang looked at the two. "Well, if you guys are stuck, Appa and I can give you a lift. Dawa wanted to see who could swim faster, him or Appa." Aang airbends himself onto Appa's head, then to the top of his back where rests an enormous saddle. Reigns are attached to both of Appa's great horns.

Katara "We'd love a ride! Thanks!" Katara got on. "I don't think swimming is a good idea." Dawa nodded jumping on Appa enhanced via airbending

Sokka stomped. "Oh, no... I am not getting on that fluffy snot monster."

Dawa smiled still in his trunks. "I can race you, warning I will cheat."

Katara smirked. "Are you hoping some other kind of monster will come along and give you a ride home? You know... before you freeze to death?" Sokka starts to say something and gives up before he does. He sighs. Cut to Katara and Sokka in the back part of the saddle. Katara looks excited. Sokka looks grumpy, arms folded across his chest.

Aang smiled and was proud. "Okay. First time flyers, hold on tight! Appa, yip yip!"

Dawa looked worried. "Um Aang." Aang shakes the reins and Appa makes a low rumble. Cut to a rear shot of Appa. He flaps his huge beaver tail and then launches into the air. He spreads his legs wide, but then comes right back down into the water with a huge splash. He begins to swim them forward. "He might be tired, like me." He said putting on his robes.

Aang shakes the reins again and Dawa takes them. "Come on, Appa. Yip yip." The younger pleaded

Sokka sarcastically said. "Wow. That was truly amazing."

Aang didn't let it put him down. "Appa's just tired. A little rest and he'll be soaring through the sky. You'll see." He makes a "soaring through the sky" motion with his hand, his eyes finally resting on Katara. He leaves them there, a smile on his face as he looks at her.

Katara looked confused. "Why are you smiling at me like that?" She asked, concerned.

Aang got out of his trance. "Oh... I was smiling?"

Dawa Chuckled at the clueless children.

Sokka was disgusted beyond words so his answer was. "Uuuuugh."

The evening came around when Dawa was holding the reins.

Katara spoke. "Hey."

Aang that caught Aang's interest. "Hey. Whatcha thinkin' about?"

"I guess I was wondering – you being an airbender and all – if you had any idea what happened to the Avatar?"

Dawa took over not wanting Aang to lie. "The last we heard of him, he was in the northern air temple and after that he was gone."

Katara accepted the answer. "Okay. Just curious. Goodnight."

Aang smiled, "Sleep tight." breathed out a breath of relief. "thanks." He whispered to Dawa and gave a nod.

Dawa Dreamed of the fire and destruction but then saw Aang in the middle of it and Dawa ran toward him and then Aang Scream. "Aaahhh!" Which woke Up Dawa.

Katara came to the Igloo. "Aang! Aang, wake up!" Dawa shook him. "It's okay. We're in the village now. Come on, get ready. Everyone's waiting to meet you two." Dawa nodded, having not undressed while he slept.

Aang got up and put on his shirt and hood. Katara looks at his airbender tattoos. She grabs Aang by the hand and drags him outside. He carries a staff with him.

Dawa sighed and followed the two.

Aang was surprised by the sudden pull. "Whaaaa!"

A small crowd has gathered to greet him. It is composed of women of various ages and children.

Dawa smiled. "I'm Dawa." He Bowed.

Katara Introduced Aang. "Aang, this is the entire village. Entire village, Aang." Aang bows to them in a friendly manner, but the people pull back from both anyway.

Aang looked confused. "Uh... why are they all looking at me like that? Did Appa sneeze on me?" Dawa chuckled though he pulled off a piece of dried jerky stuck on the back of his head.

An old woman stepped forward the frame as Aang inspected his clothes for more random stuff.

Gran Gran spoked. "Well, no one has seen an airbender in a hundred years. We thought they were extinct until my granddaughter and grandson found you two." Dawa was disheartened even if he knew this as a truth, hearing didn't make it less painful.

So was Aang "'Extinct'?" He asked, confused.

Katara stepped next to the elderly gran gran. "Aang, this is my grandmother." Dawa was already thinking about what to get for the wedding.

Gran Gran smiled. "Call me Gran Gran."

Sokka grabbed Aang's staff. "What is this, a weapon? You can't stab anything with this." Used his staff to the pock Sokka in the side. "Ow!" He said, rubbing his sides. "You have a point there." Dawa chuckled at the unintended pun.

Aang Laughed. "It's not for stabbing." He created a jet of air that sucks the staff back into his hand. "It's for airbending." Aang opens the staff into a glider with red wings.

Little Girl gushed at the surprise. "Magic trick! Do it again!" Dawa opened his mouth, causing another wave of happy children.

Aang explained. "Not magic, airbending. It lets me control the air currents around my glider and fly."

Sokka mocked. "You know, last time I checked, humans can't fly."

Dawa smiled. "I can throw you into the air if you want." Only Sokka heard the threat.

Aang "Check again!" Aang launches himself into the air with his glider. He soars through the air, doing loops as the villagers on the ground point to him in wonder.

Dawa chuckled. "Show off!" He launches behind Aang and follows the younger airbender.

Villagers stare "Whoa... it's flying... it's amazing!" Aang looks down at Katara who smiles at him. He was so enthralled with her attention that he slammed right into Sokka's guard tower. Dawa landed next to the Avatar laughing at him before pulling him out.

"Thanks." Aang said cleaning the snow away while the older one shook his head at the younger's lack of attention.

Sokka gasped in terror. "My watchtower!" He ran to ward checking for damages.

Katara "That was amazing." Aang closed his glider and Dawa pulled Sokka away before a bank of snow buried him.

Sokka pouted. "Great. You're airbenders, Katara's a waterbender, the trio wasting time all day long."

"You're a waterbender!" He said surprised while Dawa's eyes widened now understanding who freed them.

Katara was being modest. "Well... sort of. Not yet."

Dawa reassured her. "if you broke the glacier, then you will the great master." She smiled at the complied

Gran Gran walked to the trio wasting time. "All right. No more playing. Come on, Katara, you have chores."

Dawa smiled. "Is there any work for me, it's the least I can do."

Gran gran looked surprised and shrugged. "Watch your brother and the children." He nodded as the elder led Katara away.

Katara spoke full of optimism "I told you! He's the real thing, Gran Gran! I finally found a bender to teach me."

Gran Gran sighed not wanting to dash her hopes. "Katara, try not to put all your hopes in this boy."

"But he's special. I can tell. I sense he's filled with much wisdom."

She looks over to her right. Cut to Aang with his tongue frozen to his staff, children gathered around him.

Aang said slurring "Sthee? Now my tongue with thuck to my sthaff." Dawa tried to yank it off but he was too weak but his acting was good.

Dawa panted acting weak and tired. "I guess you're stuck." A child next to him grabs the staff and yanks, but Aang's tongue stays stuck.

Children clapped and laughed. "Tee hee!" This continued until Sokka got all the boys to follow him and fell asleep.

Sokka started to speak like a drill sergeant without authority. "Now men, it's important that you show no fear when you face a firebender. In the Water Tribe, we fight to the last man standing. For without courage, how can we call ourselves men?" dawa yawned.

Little Boy "I gotta pee!" He said, raising his hand.

"Listen! Until your fathers return from the war, they're counting on you to be the men of this tribe. And that means no potty breaks."

Little Boy sounded very desperate. "But I really gotta go.

Sokka sighed. "Okay... who else has to go?" All six raise their hands. Sokka slaps his forehead in disgust as all run.

"I think you did well, but you forgot kids have tiny bladders." Sokka rolled his eyes at him as he just chuckled.

Katara came to the little soldiers school. "Have you seen Aang? Gran Gran said he disappeared over an hour ago."

Dawa pointed to the iglo bathroom and Aang emerged adjusting his pants and smiled at the trip of boys coming to use the toilet.

Aang gestured over his shoulder at the toilet. "Wow! Everything freezes in there!"

Children laughed at the airbender. "Hahaha!"

Sokka looked with disgust. "Ugh! Katara, get him out of here. This lesson is for warriors only." Dawa looked sad. "You can stay." He smiled.

A Kid slid down Appa's tail. "Wheeee!" They haven't been having fun in months.

Sokka walked toward the airbender. "Stop! Stop it right now! What's wrong with you? We don't have time for fun and games with a war going on." Dawa clenched his jaw.

"What war?" Aang hopped down off Appa. "What are you talking about?" Dawa tried to shut Sokka up but no matter how much he tried guilt and denial kept him from shutting Sokka as he hoped that the hundreds years was just a dream or he was seeing a vision of the future.

Sokka didn't look amused. "You're kidding, right?" Aang's gaze shifts slightly off of Sokka to look at something behind him

Aang Yelled. "PENGUIN!" running after the animals and Katara ran after him.

Sokka looked at Dawa. "He's kidding, right?" Dawa gave glare and tripped Sokka, so he could have a higher position.

After Katara left he spoke to the acting chief. "I will say this, instead of making children into soldiers, how about you teach them how to hunt or fish? Instead this boring lectures, show them something of interest." He said as no longer hiding behind his disguise for his brother. "Something that is fun and can be translated into fighting if the time ever comes." Sokka stared surprised at the sudden change. "A bored student is a forgetful." He said sitting down next to shocked Sokka. "Let children be children for a little longer, when they have tough times, they can at least remember a time when they didn't fear for their lives." Sokka is just concentrating on the words. "Also you're a really boring teacher."

He joked and went to gran gran to ask if he could help anywhere, which led to him drying clothes.
