Season: Welcome to chapter two! This chapter relates to the previous one as it's what Ash was writing in this chapter. It made sense in my head but now that I am typing it like this well...
I feel like Ash is just a bit slightly out of character in the end just a bit. My bad for that sorry but I couldn't think of anything else. Don't we all act a bit weird when our minds wander to that one person we all like?
I really hope I didn't make things more confusing. Thank you for reading!
PS: I internally call this chapter, 'The Day In Which Ash Literally Can't Even!' because let's face it, its true.

They Said Being A Champion Was Easy! (But It's Not.)
By: Season Of Magic
{~}
After the announcement that he was the winner of the Alolan League, Ash was in complete disbelief. Gladion battled well, and he thought that he'd win it for sure. You can never know how a battle will turn out in the end and if fate was on his side, who was he to go against it?
It was all surreal and still felt like a dream as he held the trophy in his hand, smiling awkwardly for the Room dex who wanted a picture. He even thought he was going to pass out from the utter disbelief and his adrenaline running out. Yet in the end he managed to make it back to Professor Kukui's home alright and in one piece.
He was going to start getting ready for the festivities of the night yet before he could even wonder what he was going to wear, Professor Kukui had stopped him and sat him down in the chair beside his computer. He then handed him a couple bags of potato chips and told him to write a statement that would be printed and shared around the island. Bulletin board style.
Ash instantly knew what that meant. This is going to make it to all the other regions by the end of the day. He thought as he opened up one of the bags and munched on the chips.
Professor Kukui had already left. Who even knew where he went? And since Ash didn't see him leave he couldn't ask.
So as he twirled in the chair, staring at the computer... he had thought about it. He had written. Ate most of the chips in silence as he wrote about his fears, his doubts, and what winning the league meant to him. It was honest, raw and totally him.
What would be his next steps after this? He didn't know.
Yet one thing was certain; he wanted to know what a certain someone thought of all this. Blue hair, equally mesmerizing eyes, a bright smile. He needed to know if Dawn already knew the news of his victory.
Ruffling his hair in nerves he read what he wrote again and sighed. There was no time like the present to make a fool of yourself. So Ash decided he had done enough thinking and hit save to back up the file just in case. Then he hit print and made a couple copies to hand out to his friends and other people around the island. Maybe even keep a copy for himself as well. He was both a ball of nerves but also curious to see what would people think and comment on his writing. He hadn't really done something like this before.
Ash didn't think that by winning the trials and becoming League Champion, Professor Kukui would make him write something to post for everyone to see.
If you asked him the party with plenty of food would be enough for him. Also, if he didn't have to give a speech that would be even better.
Honestly if he knew it would be this much work to be champion he would have made sure to keep himself at top sixteen again.
Pikachu glanced over to him at that moment with a knowing stare. As if to say I see what you're thinking and you should stop it.
Ash laughed a bit, placing a hand to the back of his head.
"I was kidding." He told his loyal partner.
Pikachu stared in a way that said I don't believe you.
Ash simply sighed as he rolled the chair away from the professor's computer and stood up to stretch his limbs. Potato chip crumbs followed.
"And here he is the man of the hour. How are you feeling Mister Champion?" Professor Kukui made his way over with the Rotom dex aimed where he was still standing up.
Ash nearly blanched. "Wha-?" He coughed. "Um. Fine. I suppose."
"I see you finished what I asked of you. Thanks. Everyone soon you will hear from Ash's own words what this moment is like for him. It hasn't even been proofread or edited by anyone. Those are his true feelings! Scared Ash?"
"A bit." He chuckled. "So um what's up with the Rotom Professor?"
"Think nothing of it. This isn't being streamed to every region at the moment or anything of the sort." He fake laughed.
"It is isn't it? Professor! How could you? My mom is going to think I am a total slob who can't take care of himself with how I look."
"You look fine." The Professor replied. "Are you sure worrying about your appearance is just a mom is going to think I can't be left alone thing or is there something more?"
Ash blushed, looking away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Professor Kukui simply laughed. "Anyone you want to say hello to in particular?"
Ash huffed. "No one. Maybe my friends from all over I guess. Bet they're seeing this and laughing at me. Except Dawn, she wouldn't be that mean. Then again... Misty and May were both worse than that. And even Iris. Serena is probably laughing hysterically but at something else entirely most likely. Brock, Tracey and Cilan are probably wondering what made them keep me alive by feeding me. Paul, Trip and Gary certainly are enjoying me mumble to myself... I hope my classmates Lana, Kiawe, Lillie, Sophocles and Mallow don't laugh at this."
"That's a lot of people. So this Dawn is the only one who wouldn't be laughing?"
"I have potato chip crumbs all over my shirt. She is definitely laughing at me. That traitor."
"Anything you want to say to her?"
"To whom?"
"Dawn?"
"To stop snickering about my appearance and ignore that. I am champion and can do what I want." He was checking left and right to see if there were any other visible things on his clothes. "Ugh I didn't want her to see me like this. Is my shirt wrinkled Professor?"
"Your shirt is fine. You did have some crumbs like you said but Pikachu already cleaned those off."
"Oh I didn't even notice you there. Sorry buddy and thank you."
Pikachu grinned. "Chu!"
"Hmm yeah. You're right. I'm sure Dawn thinks I'm pretty handsome." He nodded in agreement. The blush on his face was even more evident now.
Professor Kukui coughed. "Why does she have to find you handsome?"
"Who wouldn't?" He twirled around. "Doesn't being champion make me more attractive?"
"I don't think that's how it works but alright."
Ash crossed his arms. "She liked me just fine as plain, boring Ash."
"And being champion is supposed to do what to that viewpoint exactly?"
"Make her fall in love with me as much as I do for her of course!" Ash pointed out. "Being someone important could give me a better chance of someone like her liking someone like me..." his voice barely a whisper. Then he blanched. "No, no, no..." he facepalmed himself. "Did I just utter that out loud!?" He asked as if they would even answer.
The Rotom floated closer to him. "I believe this has been heard all over the different regions at this point. I can pick up whispers." Saying as if that was impressive.
"To an entire audience. But just in case..." Professor Kukui smiled at the Rotom. "Hi Dawn! If you're listening; Alolan Champion Ash Ketchum apparently lik—"
The Rotom interrupted him. "—Loves."
Professor Kukui coughed. "Yes that."
"Professor! Rotom!" Ash quickly stopped both of them from finishing that sentence. "I just meant that people don't really see much in me when they look at me. That's all."
Professor Kukui tried to change the subject before Ash could embarrass himself more."We shall see everyone at the party tonight. This has been Kukui & The New Champion."
Ash simply sighed refusing to even look at the Rotom, the traitor, anymore.
"My life is over." Was the last thing the world heard from Ash, who had resigned to his fate. Professor Kukui said, "don't be so dramatic Ash." Before the feed was cut.
