![]() Author has written 5 stories for Ninjago, and Naruto. My name is Tessa! I enjoy writing as a hobby, usually during the evening. Unfortunately, I cannot come up with original universes or plots on my own, so I write fanfiction and use preexisting universes to develop plots and stories. If I see potential in something, I try to develop upon it. It's pretty fun! The only downside is I have never finished a story, but I am trying to change that. My current fanfictions are The Archangel of the Hidden Leaf and The First Elemental Masters. Updates are not consistent to help with avoiding writer's block and because I have a life outside of the site. Needless to say, I am a college student and life is not going to slow down anytime soon. But I am determined to complete my first story! I do not start a new project without having everything planned and figured out first. That way I do not lose focus along the way. Inspirations for writing The Archangel of the Hidden Leaf: Elena Siegman, Malukah, Clark S. Nova - "Archangel" I have submerged myself into a new love for anime. (I am still a baby with it, so I haven't watched many so far.) Ninjago is a massive part of my childhood, so I still plan on writing fanfiction for that, but expect a lot of anime stuff with it now. I have a ton of gloomy days and have found that letting myself love something enjoyable is a big mood booster. There has been a lot of binge-watching on Netflix, Crunchyroll, and Funimation these past few months lol. My absolute favorite major anime's so far are Naruto/Shippuden, Demon Slayer, Attack on Titan, Bleach, Death Note, and My Hero Academia. My absolute favorite characters from them are Kakashi, Inosuke, Hange, Kenpachi, Ryuk, and All Might. They all just encompass parts of my personality! My absolute favorite minor anime's so far are Sk8 the Infinity, Haikyu!!, Free!, and Say "I Love You". My absolute favorite characters from them are Reki, Bokuto, Makoto, and Yamato. Although Zane Hitsugaya is not him, it is hard to deny the similarities between them. Into the Afterlife A Ninjago/Bleach crossover Reiki the soul reaper has been caught by the Soul Society for her crimes in making substitutes out of the Ninja team. Anime's watched: I don't mind recommendations for what to watch in the future :P Naruto [Complete] - Favorite character: Kakashi Hatake! Definitely caught me by surprise for how awesome it is. The end of the first season proved to me why it is such a praised anime, and it showed me a different way to write a villain. I was completely hooked from then on. The storytelling and depth of characters blew me away. The logic behind things like chakra is easy to latch onto and run with, which makes the experience even better than it already is. The fighting scenes, emotional encounters, character development, comedy, and storytelling involved is very hard to beat. Naruto Shippuden [Complete] - Favorite character: Kakashi Hatake! Phenomenal. My love for the conflict throughout this overarching storyline is unmatched. The Akatsuki are the best villains ever written (in my humble opinion) since you begin the series with fright toward them, but end up rooting for them as episodes go by. Pain's cycle of hatred speech is worthy of an Oscar. PERIOD. It is an anime that hypes up content and delivers beyond your expectations. Had a lot of laughs, and a lot of cries. Really pulls at the heartstrings and keeps you on the edge of your seat. A lot to watch, but totally worth it. I can't wait to rewatch both series just to relive the experience. Kind of euphoric to the senses lol. Haikyu!! [Waiting for Seasons 3, 4, and 5] - Favorite character: Kotaro Bokuto! Was introduced by a former friend. Not a volleyball fan, but enjoyed the storyline and characters. I even related to some of the moments that come from sport-specific experiences. I am personally a Bokuto girl. Just waiting for Seasons 3 and 4 to be available for free for me, but I'll rewatch the first two seasons to refresh my memory. Avatar: The Last Airbender [Complete] - Favorite character: Toph Beifong! A nostalgic experience from my childhood, and definitely excellent for a kids show. Storyline is fluid and well thought out. However, fighting scenes lack in action, knowledge of power for bending is murky, and my love for Naruto made me biased for things like fire benders having lightning bending abilities. I never got emotional watching it, so it is not as good as actual anime (yes, I know it's a cartoon technically, but its content puts in on par with anime.) Unpopular opinion: Zuko's character development is unique but overrated. (Sorry...) The final battle between Aang and Ozai was also very underwhelming and failed to deliver. But decent characters that I always enjoy watching! The Legend of Korra [Complete] - Favorite character: Bolin! First time watching it and heard a lot of trash talk, but was very pleased with what I experienced. A step away from a kids show, it took more mature approaches regarding storytelling and protagonists/antagonists. I enjoyed the first season the most and considered it as good as anime. Fighting scenes are much more fun to watch. Character development is a little iffy, but overall, I would rewatch. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba [Waiting for Season 2] - Favorite character: Inosuke Hashibira! Only watched it to figure out why there was a guy that wore a boar's head, but he stayed my favorite character. I was not expecting to laugh as hard as I did throughout the first season, but it hooked me. The fighting scenes are remarkably innovative and keep your eyes glued to the screen. After seeing Mugen Train, I am more than ready for the upcoming season. This is a great anime that I desperately hope sticks to the manga closely so that its authenticity lasts until the end! Attack on Titan [Waiting for Season 4] - Favorite character: Zoe Hange! This is a high quality anime that deserves all the hype it has. It is amazing battle sequences and a plot that gets better and better as the seasons progress. The battle to reclaim Shiganshina is my favorite! Even though it is ending soon, I have no complaints. I honestly wish I had a fanfic idea for this anime but I cannot come up with anything lol. Bleach [Waiting for Season 17] - Favorite character: Kenpachi Zaraki! This was an interesting show that I have a love/hate relationship with. I really enjoyed the characters and universe that is set up. The only complaints I have involve the amount of fillers (a few I very much loved, but most I did not see the point of having them) and the repetitive nature of the villains. If I were to recommend an anime to watch, this would not be one, though. After getting through it, I can completely understand why its ratings went down and it was ultimately canceled despite the manga continuing. It took me awhile to get into it, but I am pleased to have stuck through to the very end. I was actually sad when I finished but I am aware that they are bring the anime back, and I am so excited! The Seven Deadly Sins [Complete] - Favorite character: Ban! I needed to watch something with a dub, so I settled for this. I knew it existed but had no clue what it was about. I do enjoy it! I would definitely say that Ban is my favorite character just because I love his cocky attitude and how chill he is. Plus seeing him get fatal wounds but regenerate constantly is just funny to me. The only thing I don't like in this anime is just all the magic, which is sad because it is the center of the conflict. I just can't keep up with it all, like there is no consistency to grasp onto. But the plot is great! Kakegurui [Waiting for Season 3] - Favorite character: Yumeko Jabami! I am not too sure why I watched this, but I did enjoy it even though I have no clue how to gamble. The characters are not very deep so far, which can always change, but seeing more into their lives would definitely be a plus! There was a lot of cringing, laughing, and confusion from me during the whole thing, but if I really want to understand what was going on, then I would have to rewatch it a couple times. Yasuke [Complete] - Favorite character: Yasuke! I was waiting for this to come out for a little while. I just think it's such a cool idea to bring a historic icon into an anime (with a few alterations, of course.) Unfortunately, I don't think the show lived up to my expectations. The plot was very cliche and I did not understand what was going on half the time. Because of that, it was hard to care about what was going on. I still enjoyed it to an extent, and I will probably rewatch it to see if things will make more sense. And since the ending was seemingly open-ended, I hope there is another season that shows what Yasuke does in his life next. Death Note [Complete] - Favorite character: Ryuk! Out of all of the anime I have watched, this show is exceptionally good. The beginning gives you Criminal Minds vibes with the investigation and just continues to get better as the plot develops and thickens. It is like a mental chess game between Light and L; when one makes a move, the other has to strategically think of a move to gain the upper hand again. My favorite characters are L and Ryuk because they made me laugh a lot. It is bittersweet that the anime is just one season, but I am pleased that it is rather than being milked for more content. Definitely recommend watching. WAVE!! -Let's Go Surfing!!- [Complete] - Favorite character: Masaki Hinaoka! To be honest, I was excited to watch this, but it was disappointing. The characters and competitions were interesting, but the plot was kind of bland. Along with that came bad adversity. There was nobody trying to get in the way or ruin something for the main character. It was like anyone who wanted to be superior ended up becoming a friend rather quickly. And then there was the "twist" ending, which leaves you on a bad cliffhanger and totally ruins your perspective on Sho. I don't think I'll rewatch this show. Tonikawa: Over the Moon for You [Waiting for Season 2] - Favorite character: Nasa Yuzaki! I wanted to try out a romance anime and kept seeing ads on Crunchyroll for this one, so I gave it a shot. I was pleased to find it available in English dub, and then even more pleased when I recognized Nasa's voice as that of Tanjiro lol. This was a wholesome anime that had its weird elements but it was overall cute! I'm kind of sad that it's only one season long since I liked the relationship between Nasa and Tsucasa, and they have so much potential to explore other realms that come with marriage. Since I wanted more content, I decided to watch more romance anime after this. Say "I Love You" [Complete] - Favorite character: Yamato Kurosawa! I loved this anime! The relationship between Yamato and Mei was sooo cuuute. Their interactions were the best part of it all. There were many moments that were very smooth from Yamato's stance that gave me some ideas for my fanfiction writing lol. I loved how the popular guy in school gave a quiet girl out of his league a chance. I'm not sure if his personality is considered cliche or not since he did not care about his popularity but instead cared for people in general, but I freaking loved it. Yamato is just a pure soul who I love :3 Free! - Iwatobi Swim Club [Waiting for The Final Stroke] - Favorite character: Makoto Tachibana! This is an entertaining sports anime that was not predictable like I was expecting. Since swimming revolves around racing, I thought that it might be a little boring with constant wins, but it was a little different from that. The characters are fun and all over the place (there's almost too many sometimes.) My favorite is Makoto purely because seeing him interact with kids was too adorable for me to handle. Guys like him are destined to be great parents, and that is a trait I love. Lots of heartwarming moments that are good for the soul! Psychic Princess [Waiting for Season 2] - Favorite character: Qian Yunxi! What is funny about this anime is that it is actually a Chinese donghua. I had no idea that China made anime, but this one was considerably better than a regular anime. I was hoping for more romance, but the plot provided a surprisingly packed storyline that delivered adventure and a blossoming arranged marriage. I am really hoping that there will be a season 2, but I am not getting my hopes up. Although the cliffhanger might bother me some... sweetness & lightning [Complete] - Favorite character: Kohei Inuzuka! Took me awhile to get through this even though it was only 12 episodes. I guess food anime just doesn't interest me. However, I did enjoy the dynamic between father and daughter as they both recover from the loss of their wife/mother. There were many cute moments that developed the plot. Probably will not watch again, but I would recommend it for whoever enjoys food anime. My Hero Academia [Waiting for Season 6] - Favorite character: All Might! I completely understand the hype for this anime. It's very cute with a great set of characters and developing plot. I'm actually surprised to see how the villains are progressing in skill and numbers instead of the storyline getting rid of them and bringing in new ones. It's a defining characteristic of the show that I heavily appreciate. But other than that, I freaking love All Might. His relationship with Deku is so precious and my favorite part of everything. Somali and the Forest Spirit [Waiting for Season 2] - Favorite character: Shizuno! This is a cute anime but it can be boring at times. But the world that is set up is interesting and enjoyable. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I kind of thought the father-daughter relationship was a little cringey rather than wholesome. I unfortunately will not be too keen to watch more just because there are better things out there to explore. Yu Yu Hakusho [Complete] - Favorite character: Kurama! I wanted to try out an older anime, so I found this old Shonen Jump one. I will say that each episode seems longer than it actually is, so the pace was pretty slow. I am one who can usually finish an anime fast but this one felt like it went on forever despite only having 112 episodes. Other than that, I did enjoy it thoroughly. I can see where Kishimoto and Kubo got inspiration for Naruto and Bleach because there are many aspects that pointed me toward this. Seeing that was quite fun! Sk8 the Infinity [Waiting for Season 2] - Favorite character: Reki Kyan! I absolutely loved this one! The animation style and two main characters are awesome. It really opens your eyes to how much of a sport skateboarding actually is. Although there are still unrealistic elements to it, I could see where the creators were trying to pull parallels together with snowboarding. Plus, the experiences and feelings Reki has are ones I relate to on so many levels. I can't wait until more content is released. Fullmetal Alchemist [Complete] - Favorite character: Edward Elric! People rave about this anime, so I had high expectations going in it. Unfortunately, I believe that it takes a couple watches to fully understand what is happening in the plot. Although I did enjoy and finished it rather fast, I finished it with some confusion and unanswered questions on my part. I wish alchemy and its mechanics were explained more thoroughly, but what was given was good enough to get the idea. I also thought it was cool to learn from my own research that alchemy is an actual abandoned science from centuries ago, so I understand where the inspiration comes from! Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood [Complete] - Favorite character: Edward Elric! I watched this expecting it to continue on where the original series left off, but after many recap episodes and changing of the story, I realized that it was a completely different take on the transpired events. It really bothered me at first, but I accepted it and ended up more satisfied in the end since there was an actual conclusion this time around. This series makes more sense overall, so if I had a choice, I would definitely rewatch this one. The characters are great, the plot thickens constantly, and we see the antagonist have a change of heart. Domestic Girlfriend [Complete] - Favorite character: Rui Tachibana! This anime is...weird. I get the idea that it was probably planned by a hormonal high school boy and then was written out as an adult lol. There were many moments when I was shocked, grossed out, and cringing. The routes taken with the love triangle tread a thin line that I really hope does not occur in real life. But despite my own opinions on the matter that Natsuo experienced, I have to admit that what happens in the end saddened me. I hated seeing Natsuo hurt so bad in his own confusion of his hormone-driven attachment. InuYasha [In progress] - Favorite character: Inuyasha! I discovered this anime through fanart and got interested. Plus, I need to watch more romance anime, so why not watch a long one? This show is old, but it is anything but boring. The plot is continuously developing by introducing enemies and obstacles but not in the form of fillers, so it is hard to find a stopping place. I thoroughly enjoy the characters, relationships, and powers involved, although I wish more time was spent developing them. Castlevania [Waiting for Season 5] - Favorite character: Alucard! I pretty much binged this in less than a week. Although it is technically not anime, it is still very enjoyable and has elements of anime. If you like vampires, battles, and complicated relationships, I highly recommend this show. My jaw drops with the battles because of how much blood and guts is involved. And the chemistry between Trevor and Sypha is practically unmatched, but Alucard with them just completes the dynamic. |
