I've been a special education teacher for far too many years, with a primary interest in working with the blind. Right now, however, I'm working with developmentally delayed adults living in the community, as the politics of education have become increasingly troublesome in the past few years; and I wonder if I'll go back to teaching at this point.

I first read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when I was thirteen and fourteen years old, back in the early sixties. I fell in love with Aragorn then, and became Tolkien-obsessed fairly easily, an obsession the release of the PJ movies re-awoke with a vengeance.

I've been writing Tolkien Fanfiction for the past six years, and still find it rewarding and therapeutic. My works have been nominated for awards in several different venues at this point, and have earned a fair amount of honor, for which I'm grateful. I write mostly Frodo-centric stories, although I've written stories featuring all of the members of the Fellowship and beyond, from the earliest days of Arda to the dawn of the final battle. I usually write as close to book-canon as I can, although I do look at the aspects of Frodo's recovery that I feel Tolkien rather glossed over. I prefer to write pathos to pure angst, although you'll also find humor tucked in here and there, even in my most pathos-ridden works. Hope you don't mind! But there are a few AUs as well, well marked.

My first work, For Eyes to See as Can, was directly inspired by the work of Lindelea, particularly her A Small and Passing Thing. From there I've just sort of gone on.

My favorite authors are Chip of Dale, Lindelea, Shirebound, Dreamflower, Grey Wonderer, Fiondil, Bodkin, Baylor, Radbooks, Alassiel, Annmarwalk, Virtuella, LindaHoyland, Raksha the Demon, Imhiriel, and several others, as I see the list is becoming rather unwieldy at the moment. I read mostly Hobbit-centered stories, although not exclusively. I post on several different sites, including , , , Many Paths to Tread, and .

My other obsessions include reading, writing, artwork, crocheting, disabilities advocacy, and the West Memphis Three case (see to learn why). And don't be surprised to find stories with some of these obsessions mirrored in them here and there in my collections.
