Reformed Saiyans
Chapter Twenty-One: Silenced Pink
Once the group had known they were safe, they took a quick break, Krillin was quite winded from using the times four Kaioken, and his muscles were still strained as well. They hid between two massive cliffs, keeping their energies masked.
"Phew! I can't believe we made it out of there alive." Krillin said, letting a sigh of relief escape his mouth. "I mean, if it was just that Pink guy, I bet we could've stopped him but something about that green lizard guy just didn't sit right, y'know."
"Yeah." Gohan said in agreement. He turned to the Namekian child. "Hey are you okay?"
The namekian child nodded. "Thank you for saving me." He said, bowing to the three fighters respectfully.
"No problem." Krillin replied. "Though we had a bit of a plan originally, I guess it got a little messed up." He let a short chuckle out.
"Yeah, and it would've been fine if somebody didn't go recklessly in!" Piccolo growled, facing Gohan. "We had a plan runt! You're lucky we're fine now, what were you thinking rushing in there like that?!"
Gohan swallowed and bit his lip. "I-i was j-just!" He paused.
"You weren't thinking!" Piccolo interrupted. "Don't do it again or you'll be staying behind with Bulma's got that?!"
Gohan flinched, and nodded. "Y-Yes S-Sir!"
"Hey relax Piccolo." Krillin said. "We all got out of there alive, that's all that matters, even if the plan didn't go the way it was intended."
Piccolo rolled his eyes. "Yeah whatever." He sighed. "Let's cut the chit chat for now, hurry back to Bulma's and talk then."
The two fighters nodded in response.
"Damn it! They've escaped!" Zarbon snarled. He turned his head to Dodoria. "You go after them, see if you can find them. I'll see if I can scout another village."
"You don't have to tell me twice!" Dodoria replied angrily. "Those runts and that Namekian is gonna pay!"
Dodoria rushed off in anger, scouring the land to find the three, little did he know, they were long gone, but a particular powerful soul, yearning for revenge was nearby. The same soul knocked Dodoria into the ground, the ground cracked and it broke apart, causing Dodoria to fall in the water.
Dodoria regained his balance, and swam then flew out of the water, to see who had him yet again.
"I swear! What is with people and these surprise attacks!" Dodoria growled. As he had flown, the silhouette quickly revealed Vegeta, to which Dodoria's attitude changed. "So the "so mighty" former Prince has come to me?"
"What do you want Vegeta?!" Dodoria yelled as he hovered up to Vegeta's level.
"Dodoria…" Vegeta chuckled. "What kind of welcoming is that for an old friend?"
Dodoria made a slight angry frown. "Is that how you're gonna play it huh? Blindside me, and pretend as if it didn't just happen?" He said. "News for you Monkey Boy but I ain't in the mood!"
Dodoria followed Vegeta as he lowered to the ground.
"Hah! And what would you do about it?" Vegeta asked mockingly. "Frieza and Zarbon aren't here to intervene, so getting rid of you should be a cinch!"
Dodoria dropped his jaw. "W-What?! You think you're capable of taking me on?!" Dodoria yelled. He balled his fists with rage, and gritted his teeth. "Don't make me laugh! I'll kick your ass anytime!"
Vegeta remained with a smug face, which just made Dodoria's blood boil, however his rage subsided seeing the scouter on Vegeta's face, and remembering that his was destroyed.
"Listen. Give me the scouter of yours, and I'll forget this." Dodoria smirked. "In fact, to top it off, I'll be sure to have it known, that Cui was some traitor, and rather you were stopping him. That way you can still stay in the force, and your pathetic life."
"Hmph. Is that so?" Vegeta scoffed. "Hah! HAHAHA! AHAHAHAHAHA!"
"What the hell are you laughing for!" Dodoria snarled.
"You think I'm foolish enough to fall for that?! And even if it were true, Frieza would never believe it!" Vegeta pointed out. "You'd have to be pretty dumb to try and fool Frieza like that!"
Dodoria clenched his fists tighter, and growled once more.
"A trip to the nearest Trading Center would take some time, wouldn't it?" Vegeta said. He grabbed the scouter off his face, placing it on the floor. "Want it?"
Dodoria's face of anger changed to a slightly surprised, and a slight smirk. "About time you showed some respect." He said. "This is by far the smartest thing you've done yet!"
Dodoria took several steps forward, getting ready to grab the device, however Vegeta's foot crushed it into smithereens, Dodoria let his mouth hang in shock.
"V-Vegeta! W-Why!" Dodoria shouted. "H-How could you!"
He turned to the Prince, and growled with anger.
"Why?" Vegeta said, he chuckled at the rotund alien. "It's worthless to me, but it's priceless to you!"
Dodoria gazed with shock, shaking his head in utter disbelief. "Liar!" He said. "There's no way you can detect the Dragon Balls or anyone else more without the scouter than the rest of us can!"
Vegeta laughed again. "Wrong! When I went to Earth, I did more than just gain incredible power!" Vegeta replied. "Infact! I've picked up several new tricks, concealing my strength! And the ability to sense energies without a scouter!"
With a quick realization, Dodoria put two and two together, or he thought. "I get it! You must be working with those Earthlings, and that other powerful Namekian!" Dodoria said. Vegeta gave a shocked look. "I'm right aren't I?! You and them are working together!"
Vegeta scoffed. "You continue to be incompentent enough to not piece it right." Vegeta replied, ridiculing. Dodoria growled at Vegeta's insulting statement. "Even if by some chance they are on Planet Namek, not only should I have been able to detect their presence, but I wouldn't be working with scum like them!"
"I could care less about your stupid quarrel. If you don't have a scouter, than you're wasting my time!" Dodoria shouted. He took a small step backward, as Vegeta took a few steps forward.
"Get lost! Get outta here!" Dodoria shouted. Vegeta took another step and Dodoria while not trying to show it, trembled in fear. "A once in a lifetime opportunity, you should take it!"
Vegeta chuckled, then laughed loudly. "What a kind gesture of you!" Vegeta said mockingly. He took a few more steps, as Dodoria walked back, clearly showing signs of fear. "Or.. are you just scared to attack?"
Dodoria swallowed hard, Vegeta was onto him, but then again, even a fool could see that Dodoria was becoming fearful. Vegeta took a few more steps, and yet again Dodoria walked back.
"Yes that must be it!" Vegeta said. "You overheard my battle with Cui didn't you?!" Dodoria's eyes slightly widened, now he knew that Vegeta knew exactly what he was thinking. "You saw my increased strength! You realized I was at new heights of power!" Vegeta took a few more steps forward, lowering the volume of his voice, and tone. "And you must be terrified."
Dodoria let a slight shake and shudder escape him, shaking his head no. "That power reading was inaccurate! I'll prove it!" Dodoria yelled.
Dodoria charged recklessly at Vegeta with overwhelming rage, he hurled his fist at the mighty Prince, but Vegeta stepped to the side, avoiding Dodoria. He grabbed the pink man's rotund and spiky arm before Dodoria could react, swinging him a complete 180, and punching his face as Dodoria crashed towards a rock formation.
Vegeta slowly walked to Dodoria, the pink rotund man quickly recovering the mild attack stood up, and while his face remained without fear, his obvious shuddering state, and his mind were not.
"I refuse to believe that you are stronger than me! I REFUSE!" Dodoria yelled. He lifted his hands in the air, gathering yellow energy in between his two hands, and fired it at Vegeta. It formed from a ball into a small yet quick torrent that headed it's way to Vegeta.
Vegeta dashed to the side, evading the attack, but Dodoria continued to throw more energy waves, each one Vegeta had dodge, and each one had made Dodoria angrier and angrier. After about ten waves of energy, Dodoria's rage peaked, he flew into the air, and sent a massive volley of energy blasts and waves to the ground, hoping it would take Vegeta and the ground beneath him to a death sentence.
After about a short yet loud moment, Dodoria took a second to catch his breath.
"No sign of that pest…" Dodoria thought. He let a sigh of relief, and figured he had won. "I knew that reading was inaccurate! Of course it on-..."
Dodoria paused, eyes filled with fear, his body trembled unwillingly, as he felt a cold touch to his back.
"What was that you were saying about the power reading?" Vegeta said with a smirk.
Dodoria swallowed hard, and tried his best to remain unshaken, but it proved futile.
"V-Vegeta?! B-But How!" He yelled. Dodoria turned to face Vegeta. His eyes broadened further when he saw the Saiyan Prince unscathed. "T-That's i-impossible! T-There's no way!"
Dodoria was rendered speechless, what else could he say? Repeat himself? Whine some more about the so called impossibility of him being beat? Nope, this was his last time saying that. Dodoria could see the intent in Vegeta's eyes, the bloodlust he presented, Vegeta was going to kill him.
Dodoria had to think, act, do something! Quickly! And when he thought he was done for, an idea had formed in his mind. A small yellow energy blast began forming at the tip of Vegeta's finger.
"V-V-Vegeta wait!" Dodoria said. Vegeta ignored him, he was tired of hearing Dodoria's excuses and complaining. The ball grew bigger. "I-I have some information you might want!" Vegeta continued to expand the energy blast, clearly this wasn't working. Dodoria flinched slightly as it grew, embracing himself, with his eyes closed, he shouted one last time.
"It's about your homeworld!"
Vegeta stopped, and Dodoria opened to his eyes with relief.
"My homeworld?" Vegeta said. He glared at Dodoria, and growled. "What could I possibly not know about my own homeworld! You better start talking and fast, or I'll kill you!"
"I will! But you have to guarantee that you won't stab me in the back!" Dodoria replied.
Vegeta took a step forward, expressing a furious face at Dodoria, he hissed at the pink rotund man, who jumped slightly back in response.
"You're lucky I don't end this right now! Speak!" Vegeta demanded.
Dodoria gulped, and shook his head for a split second. "Alright, alright!" Dodoria replied. "When your homeworld was destroyed, Frieza had told you it was destroyed by the meteor. However that was only half the truth."
Vegeta raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean? Spill!"
"It was never destroyed by a meteor, what really happened was Frieza! He did it! Frieza grew fearful of you Saiyans, you were growing, in number! And strength as well! He feared that the so called legends, the Legends that he fears, the legends that you desire, may come true!" Dodoria explained. He took a few steps back, with a plan b in his head.
"So Frieza called every single Saiyan to the Planet, except for a few of course. After all he had to save a few "monkeys" as slaves." Dodoria continued. "While a few had suspicions about Frieza's true plans, true colors, your father was to bliss to see it, and everyone, including your Father and Mother, were wiped out!"
Vegeta scoffed in response, which wasn't quite the response Dodoria expected, however he had no time to be shocked, walking a few more feet backwards to gain distance is all Dodoria could think about, escape it was.
"I already knew." Vegeta said. Dodoria widened his gaze with shock.
"W-What? B-But how!?" Dodoria asked.
"Don't get me wrong, I wasn't sure. None of us were sure, but we had our suspicions." Vegeta answered. "All you've done is confirmed those suspicions. And now! Now! That I know for sure! I'll be sure to pay him and his men back for everything they did! All those years of his...dirty work! Only if I had known sooner!"
Vegeta clenched his fists, and bent his knees, Dodoria panicked, flying as quickly as he could. Vegeta unleashed his energy, his aura flared and the ground trembled immensely.
"Take this you bastard!" Vegeta yelled. He centered his energy to his right hand, and released it as Dodoria flew away.
"F-Frieeezzzzaaaa!" Dodoria screamed. Intense burning pain was sent throughout his body until he felt nothing, because he had become nothing. Dodoria's ashes floated to the ground, scattered about a few feet from each other.
"Well now...My search should be a lot easier since they are without their scouters!" Vegeta smirked. He lifted off the ground, and flew away in the direction of what he had hoped to be, a Namekian Village.
On the way back to their landing spot, the group of four had a very close encounter with Vegeta, luckily for them, a whale the size of two skyscrapers leaped in the air, causing Vegeta to think he was only feeling the fish's energy.
This allowed them to scarcely escape what could've been the end. Shortly after, they returned to the Capsule House.
Gohan and Krillin had decided to have a quick meal before leaving again. Dende remained quiet, but he kept glancing over Piccolo, which irritated the Namekian. Eventually Piccolo was gonna force the words out of the younger Namekian, but he had not needed to as the child finally spoke up.
"You're...a Namekian.." Dende said.
"Yes I am." Piccolo replied. "What's it to ya?"
"Well..the thing is, I know every single one of my brothers, but you're not one of them, and I certainly don't feel any of Guru's ki in you." Dende said. "How is it that you're a Namekian but not from Namek?"
"I landed...or was sent to Earth a long long time ago." Piccolo replied. "I don't remember how, or know why."
"Maybe you came from one of the other Super Nameks before the Climate shift." Dende pointed out.
Piccolo looked confused, Krillin and Gohan gave the same look to Dende.
"Super Namek? Climate Shift?" Piccolo said. He felt completely flabbergasted. "What're you talking about."
"You mean, you don't know about the Climate shift?" Dende asked, he looked with great surprise. How could he have not known about the climate shift? Perhaps not everyone is from Namek, perhaps Piccolo isn't the only Namekian that is from Namek.
Piccolo shook his head. "Not a clue. Like I said, I arrived on Earth many many years ago, don't know why, don't know how."
Dende lowered his gaze for a second and took a moment to gather his thoughts. "Along time ago, in Namek, there was a climate shift, one so powerful, that it caused just about every one of us to be wiped out."
"How did you guys survive then?" Krillin asked.
"We didn't… Or well.. Most of them didn't, but Guru managed to survive." Dende answered. "He was able to survive, and find shelter from such a disastrous situation, we were told or well it was assumed he was the only Namekian to have survived, but maybe a few managed to escape."
"Do you perhaps know the names of these Super Namekians?" Piccolo asked.
Dende shook his head. "No." He frowned. Though a second a later, something had come to mind. "I think the Grand Elder might though. He is after all the father to all of the Namekians here on Namek. He must know something."
"Grand Elder?" Gohan asked. "Who's that?"
"Grand Elder Guru. He was the only remaining Namekian that had survived the climate shift or...well was assumed to be. He was the one who birthed all of my brothers and I. If not for him, this planet would be empty." Dende explained. "Since he was there at the time and before the climate shift, he should know more."
"Then take me to him. I'd like some answers." Piccolo said. He started walking off but Dende was hesitant. "Well?"
"I'm sorry, but I cannot go with you. At least not without telling me why you've come to our Planet." Dende asked.
"We came looking for the Dragon Balls." Krillin answered. Dende turned to Krillin with both a surprised and confused look.
"The Dragon Balls? How do you know about the Dragon Balls?" Dende asked.
"Back on our Planet, where we came from, Earth, we had our own set of Dragon Balls." Krillin answered.
Once again Dende was filled with shock. "Your own set of Dragon Balls? There are other Dragon Balls?"
Piccolo nodded. "Yes, We had our own set of Seven Dragon Balls." He replied. "My life is linked to them."
"Wait, you're a Dragon Clan Namekian? How are you so powerful yet you are a part of the Dragon Clan." Dende asked. This confused Piccolo more.
"The hell are you talking about?" Piccolo said.
"Well there are different clans of the Namekian race, there is the Warrior clan and the Dragon Clan. The Warrior Clan is the fighters of the Namekian race, however most of them were wiped out when the climate shift occurred." Dende explained. "The Dragon Clan have abilities more pertaining to magic, only they are capable of creating the Dragon Balls."
"So surely you must be a Dragon Clan if you're the creator of the Dragon Balls for Earth." Dende pointed out.
"Erm..Not quite." Piccolo replied. Dende gave yet another confused look. "I'm split from my other half, he's the Guardian of the Earth, the one who created the Dragon Balls. I have no ability to use such magic like he can. My magical abilities are greatly limited unlike him."
"I see…" Dende replied. "Wait..If you can fight, and you're a part of the Warrior clan, but you can still use some magical abilities?"
"Can other Warrior-Type fighters not?" Piccolo asked.
Dende shrugged. "I wouldn't know, there are but a few Warrior Clan fighters left here on Namek, and none of them can do such a thing."
"Strange, I'm sure there is a simple explanation." Piccolo said. "Regardless. I believe we should meet this Grand Elder of yours, he should have the answers we're looking for if I'm not mistaken."
Dende nodded. He stepped forward, walking in front of Piccolo, motioning for him to follow, however the group of fighters stopped in their tracks, sensing...something that unsettled them all.
