Reformed Saiyans

Chapter Twenty-Three: A Simpleton's Mistake.

Author's Note (Important): I have some bad news, my computer is having serious issues, I did not lose the files so don't worry about that. I have several backups in easy access places for me. However, because I have to ship my PC so the insurance company can fix'r up, I don't know how long it could take. It could take months, it could take weeks, or it could be a couple of days at best. So, I dunno when it'll be ship or how much longer I'll have it, I figured I'd give an early release to this week's chapter.

I'm gonna see if I can make a workaround so I can upload the chapters with my Phone, but then I'll be unable to properly proofread it. I've proofread all of the Namek chapters before buuuuuuuuut, I always like going through it once before releasure, an that's hard doing it on phone. I hate phones, I hate the internet too but I also love it...

Anyhow, if I can get uploads on my Phone, It'll be mostly consistent, if I can't, prepare for a hiatus or not. If I hiatus it, when I come back, I'll just do a catch-up where I release a chapter every other-day til caught up or somethin. It depends.

Zarbon flew back to the base of operations, there laid the ship of his on the ground, although not quite as grand and advanced as Frieza's ship, It still had gotten the job done. Allowing up to over 50 passengers, a small medical bay, several small bunker rooms, and a mini dining hall.

When Zarbon lowered himself to the ground, he was greeted with several of the men guarding the ship.

"Welcome Back Lieutenant Zarbon!" They all shouted. Zarbon walked his way to the ship, as each guard moved themselves out of the way.

"Cranberry, status report!" Zarbon shouted. A limp or in other words, skinny, fish-like humanoid walked up to Zarbon. His skin was brown, and he had two short fish antennas on his head, as well as fins on the side of his head.

"S-Sir! We currently have four in possession, Faju and Duran are currently at the moment, obtaining another." Cranberry replied. "And we have a crew out looking for the one Vegeta had taken."

"Good… Good." Zarbon said. He continued walking inside his ship, with a few of his men including Cranberry following him.

"S-Sir, permission to speak freely?" Cranberry asked.

Zarbon raised an eyebrow. "You may."

"Where is Second Lieutenant Dodoria? And your scouter?" Cranberry continued.

"We had a bit of trouble back there. Some of the Namekians played dirty tricks on us." Zarbon answered. The two walked to the Ship Captain's quarters, and both stared outside the small window.

"As for Dodoria…" Zarbon continued. He let a short laugh escape his mouth. "That fool got himself killed by Vegeta."

Cranberry, and the other men looked with shock and terror.

"V-Vegeta? He's here?" Cranberry asked.

Zarbon turned to face Cranberry and shook his head. "Not anymore." He said. The men sighed with relief, they could handle some stuff, but certainly not Vegeta. "I wouldn't sigh yet." The group of men looked at Zarbon with confusion. "There appears to be some termites on the planet, a couple of Earthlings, and a powerful Namekian. Warn Faju and Duran about these pests, report back to me afterwards."

"S-Sir Yes Sir!" The group of men said. They all dashed out of Zarbon's quarters, doing exactly as he said, no sidetracking either.

After a short moment, Zarbon left his quarters, and went into a laboratory. There stood multiple scientists, working on plenty of stuff, with the supplies and room they had.

"Goji!" Zarbon shouted. A man with blue skin, the shade that of a diamond, quickly averted all attention to Zarbon.

"Yes Lieutenant" He said.

"Do we have any readily available new model scouters?" Zarbon asked. Goji nodded in response, grabbing a red scouter from nearby.

"Here you go Sir." Goji said. He handed out the scouter to Zarbon, and Zarbon took it from the scientist's hand, putting it immediately on. "This new model is far more accurate than our old ones, not only that, they have the capability to detect signs of even the tiniest life, it is set to it."

Zarbon smirked. "Good. How's the communication on this thing?" He asked.

"It can have communication to even those up to approximately ten point two thousand light years away, with ultra high definition." Goji answered.

"Okay. I see you have earned yourself a small raise." Zarbon said. Goji's face lit with excitement,

"T-Thank you sir! I promise in the future you will not be displeased, it'll be even better than before." Goji replied.

"I hope so, I wouldn't want Frieza ending you because of a small accident." Zarbon said. The teal-skinned alien whipped around, leaving the laboratory, as Goji gulped from the thought.

"Now I should probably contact Frieza, and update him." Zarbon thought. As he walked back to his quarters, Zarbon clicked a button on his device, and then several more tiny ones.

A moment later, Frieza had answered.

"I hope this strange number is you Zarbon...or Dodoria. I've been stuck without any answers for a few hours now." Frieza said.

"S-Sorry my lord, we had a bit of an incident as we collected the Dragon Balls." Zarbon replied.

"Did you fix the problem?" Frieza said, his voice getting slightly harsher, rising to anger.

"Y-Yes! It is all taken care of." Zarbon replied. Frieza's mood lit up, and his voice returned to normal.

"Good. What's the status report then?" Frieza asked.

"We currently have four balls in possession. Faju and Duran are on their way of securing another." Zarbon explained. "However, Dodoria had met quite a fatal match with Vegeta."

"Mhm, I see." Frieza's voice sounded disappointed. "A bit sad that we have lost him, but I suppose it was to be expected. I can however look on the brighter side, my search for eternal life shall end soon."

In the ship Frieza had sat in, he spun his chair around, and on the side of him was a hairy, bulky tall brute.

"Has Vegeta been taken care of yet? I'd hope so, having that pest could be a bit of an issue." Frieza wondered.

"Yes My Lord. It took awhile to find him though. As you can tell, I've lost my scouter, and was nowhere near the ship at the time. I had tracked him down the old fashioned way, finding him near what seemed to have been a village." Zarbon explained. "I also ended up having to resort to something that I haven't in awhile."

Frieza raised an eyebrow. "You transformed?" He asked.

"Yes." Zarbon replied.

"I did hear a bit of strain in your voice." Frieza said. He thought for a moment, processing what Zarbon said, then something had donned on him. "Wait. Did you say he was near another Village? Did you assure that there was no ball there?"

"Yes Lord Frieza. I searched the entire Village from top to bottom. Dug multiple deep holes, and excavated the perimeter." Zarbon answered. "There was no trace of a Dragon Ball."

"Idiot!" Frieza said. Zarbon's gaze widened with shock and confusion, slight fear swelled inside him.

"I-I'm sorry Frieza.. What did you say?" Zarbon asked.

"You idiot! If he was near the village, did you not perhaps, I dunno? Stop and think that maybe he could've had hidden the ball somewhere else?!" Frieza yelled. Zarbon remained silent, and gulped. "You didn't, did you! You insolent buffoon! Not only have you gone and disobeyed my orders after I had told you not to kill the filthy ape, but now you ruin my only chance at eternal life!"

Frieza's growls echoed through the scouter, and Zarbon began to tremble.

"What state was the village in when you got there?" Frieza said. Zarbon was quiet, and hesitant. "I said. WHAT. STATE. WAS. THE. VILLAGE. IN!"

Zarbon gulped, and spoke quickly. "In a very disastrous one sir. Dead bodies everywhere, destroyed houses, there was but one Namekian somewhat alive, but I took care of him."

Frieza's rage intensified. "What?! You dumbass! You killed our only chance to get information about the Dragon Balls and it's whereabouts?!"

"S-Sorry Sir! I had no-" Zarbon tried to save his ass but was cut-off by Frieza's intense yelling and screaming.

"No! You had not, nothing! You weren't even thinking! Not only is my Second Lieutenant dead, but after I explicitly told you to bring back Vegeta alive, you went and killed him anyways. I was fine with it for a moment cause I had assumed you procured all information out of him but you hadn't!" Frieza yelled.

"In that case! What gave you the right to attack him without my information? And what gave you the right to take charge of this mission?! You sent my Chief Officer Duran and Sergeant Major Faju to lead a team of fighters to secure Dragon Balls rather than have them protect the ones we already have, on top of all this mess you've created! You've left Vegeta for the dead and any information about a very important piece of this puzzle, as well as a WITNESS!" The Tyrant continued.

"Your orders were explicit, find any information about the Dragon Balls, have your two strongest men aside you and Dodoria guard the secured ones. Do not kill Vegeta!" Frieza yelled.

"S-Sorry Lord Frieza! I'll f-fix it immediately! Vegeta could still be alive, I doubt he is because while I could not see his body due to the conditions, he could've drowned, but I-I'll check to make sure!" Zarbon replied. He swallowed hard, and shook with fear. "I promise I'll fix it, please forgive me!"

"What?! You expect me to forgive you, yet you didn't even bother to check if he's dead?!" Frieza screamed. He clenched his fists with burning rage. "YOU BETTER FIX THIS, AND GET REALLY LUCKY THAT YOU'RE RIGHT, AND MANAGE TO COLLECT ALL SEVEN DRAGON BALLS BEFORE I GET THERE, OR ELSE!"

Oh that was a scary thought, for Frieza to say or else? It could've been anything!

Immediately after Frieza had finished yelling, he ended the transmission leaving Zarbon frightened. He shook his head and regained his composure, sending out multiple men to help find Vegeta, as well as collecting more information.

Frieza, however, was enraged with this new status report.

"Damn it! That invalid! How could he be so naive!" Frieza yelled. He stood out of his seat, and his energy rampantly raged, although he kept himself from letting it actually go anywhere, it still had dramatically increased.

He turned to the tall bulky brute next to him. "You. Call the Ginyu Force now."

"L-Lord Frieza are y-." He was cut off by a powerful punch in his gut, which basically answered his questions.

"Yes." Frieza said with a deep angrified tone. "After you're done, meet me in the training hall."

The brute nodded, doing as told without hesitation.

"DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!" Zarbon yelled in thought. He messed up big time, he had never heard Frieza so angry...or at least at him anyways. Though, rather than owning up for the mistake he made, he had blamed another individual for it. "It's all Vegeta's damned fault! If that stupid ape hadn't intervened in the first place! I wouldn't be in this mess!"

Zarbon was sure to keep his scouter one hundred percent disabled when he had ranted to himself. He hurried as fast as he could, though he sent out a few groups of men to find Vegeta, Zarbon already had an idea on where the Saiyan could be.

He searched around his battlefield, around the water where he left Vegeta. Outside and Inside it, but no sign of Vegeta yet. Zarbon searched nearby land masses, and there laid a near dead Vegeta on the ground.

Zarbon looked at him with disgust and spite. "Look what you've done. You should've just died with the rest of the Saiyans on Planet Vegeta." He muttered.

Zarbon put Vegeta over his shoulder and hurried as fast as he could back to the ship. Once there, he called most of the men he had sent out, to return, guarding the medical bay which he put Vegeta in.

"Every single one of you better make sure that this pest is one hundred percent healed!" Zarbon yelled. "And if you don't! Frieza will have my ass! Which means I'll have yours!"

One of the soldiers spoke up, making a joke, which irritated Zarbon. "I get that Frieza is great and all, but I don't think he swings that way Zarbon nor would he ever want someone like you."

Sudden laughter bursted the room, and Zarbon's rage intensified, most shut up, except for the one who made the joke, and the soldier next to him. Zarbon killed the two instantly, making an easy example out of them.

"WOOOORRRTTHHH ITTT!" One of them shouted as he died.

"Jackass…" Zarbon thought. He left the room immediately, and sat in his quarters, sighing to himself. Hoping that Vegeta would actually recover, which is something he never thought he had to hope. However his life was on the line, so he had no choice.

"We should be almost there…" Dende said.

"Good. I was getting worried that we might be o-." Krillin paused. The four felt two powerful energies nearby, and immediately lowered themselves to the ground, masking their energies.

"Damn it…" Krillin said. "Here I thought we'd be able to make it without any trouble."

"If push comes to shove, we'll just take them out." Piccolo replied. "They're powerful, but not strong enough. We'll do it quickly and clean, not trying to conserve energy, got it?"

"What if Vegeta finds us?" Gohan asked.

"He won't." Piccolo answered. "I dunno what happened, but it felt like some big battle between him, and some other monstrous powered guy fought. The other guy seems to have won."

"Yeah. And since these other guys rely on their devices, we shouldn't be too worried about that other guy finding us, right?" Krillin asked. Piccolo nodded.

As the four kept themselves masked, the two soldiers above talked to each other.

"So Duran, you ever...talk...at all?" The red-skinned alien asked. He wore a similar suit to that of Zarbon, minus the pink straps around his wrist, and white cape. Duran, a brown, well-built, and spiky alien, sent the alien next to him a glare.

"My focus is on the mission, not meaningless talk." Duran answered. "You should know better Faju."

Faju narrowed his eyes on Duran, sending him an angry look, then scoffed and turning his head away, searching for other stuff. "Whatever…" Faju replied. He hated this, Duran was supposed to be his superior, yet was weaker than him in terms of power. Faju was much stronger than Duran, and he hated it so much that he wasn't in charge.

"There's one really old life reading over there, and next to it, seems to be another much younger life reading." Duran said. "The younger one, is abnormal in comparison to our other opponents, but we should be capable of taking him down."

Piccolo and Dende's both widened their gaze, hearing their conversation.

"T-They're going after the Grand Elder and Nail!" Dende said. "We've got to stop them!" Dende began to fly out, but Piccolo stopped him, grabbing the young Namek by his arm.

"Wait!" Piccolo said. "Don't go rushing in. We need to plan this. We'll be brief, but we can't go in t-"

Too late. Faju had noticed the four already.

"Hey Duran! Looks like we got a couple of spies!" Faju said as he turned his head to his superior. Duran turned his head around to face the "spies" Faju was talking about.

"Execute them." Duran replied. Faju smirked in response, he unleashed a powerful energy blast at the four.

Krillin and Gohan leaped away, Piccolo grabbed Dende and flew away.

"Stay here." Piccolo said, to Dende. Dende nodded, and the three fighters charged after Faju and Duran.

Faju welcomed the fighters with open arms, with his preference to close combat. Piccolo combined his two hands, and whacked his connected fist against the top of Faju's forehead. The red-skinned soldier had not expected such speed or strength from Piccolo, and thus he had his guard dropped.

Faju plummeted instantly to the ground but was able to stand up quickly.

"So this Namekian is a little bit stronger than I thought huh?" Faju said. He clicked the button on his scouter as Piccolo chased after him. Faju leaped back before Piccolo's leg swing could connect with his body. "A powerlevel of ten thousand? You're not like the other ones we've slaughtered."

Piccolo scoffed in response, and rolled his eyes. "Don't underestimate me! I'm not some pushover you can toy with!" He yelled. He rushed to Faju and hurled his fist at the red skinned alien's face, but Faju avoided the attack, inching his head to the right.

Faju smirked, assuming that Piccolo this was all Piccolo had planned for, however the Demon King's Son swept his legs behind Faju's feet, almost pulling him down. Faju however reacted quickly and jumped off the ground.

"Hmm...I should keep my guard up, he's a little more quick thinking than I gave him credit for." Faju thought.

In the meantime, while the two had fought, Gohan and Krillin were trying to keep the strong iron fighter that is Duran.

"Take your friend, and leave now, I'll let you go unscathed." Duran said. "Otherwise, prepare to face your doom."

"Sorry, but we can't let you take out the Grand Elder!" Krillin shouted. Gohan nodded in agreement, and Duran raised an eyebrow in response. The two short fighters launched attacks simultaneously at Duran, and the brown spiky fighter blocked and evaded each attack.

Gohan launched his foot to the right, Duran inched forward, Krillin hurled his fist from the left, at Duran's face, but the spiky alien blocked with his left arm. As he blocked, Gohan attacked again without hesitation, slamming his foot at Duran's gut, but Duran disappeared, moving away quickly.

He reappeared behind the two, and sent two powerful blasts but Gohan and Krillin dodged the two energy blasts. Duran flew over to Krillin, and rammed his fist at the monk, Krillin placed his arms in front of him to block the attack yet it still dealt great damage. Duran then launched his fist against Krillin's jaw, and his leg against Krillin's side.

Gohan came from behind, trying to save his friend, he took his left fist, and hurled it towards Duran but Duran whipped around, catching the young halfbreed's fist.

"I wish to not harm a child." Duran said. "So please leave."

Although surprised by this, Gohan protested regardless. "You're hurting my friends! I won't leave until you stop!"

Duran sighed, and rolled his eyes. "Forgive me Planet Spa'Iksa." Duran said in thought. He hurled his fist into Gohan's gut, and the boy's gaze broadened as the air from his lungs were forced out, as well as saliva from his mouth.

"I'll make this quick and painless." Duran said. He whacked Gohan's neck with a karate chop and hurled his fist against Gohan's face, sending him down to the ground. Lastly, he unleashed an energy bolt to Gohan, expecting it to land, but another energy blast collided with it. Duran looked with slight surprise.

That surprise grew when Krillin appeared and this time, suddenly faster and stronger.

"Take this you bastard!" Krillin shouted. "Kaioken Attack!"

Krillin instantly appeared in front of Duran, and came close to his head. Krillin grabbed the back of Duran's head, slamming it at his knee, while also launching his knee at the same time. After, Krillin flew over and behind Duran, who while in great pain from the attack, turned around to face Krillin.

However the tough brown alien couldn't lock onto Krillin as he was going too fast for Duran to see. Krillin did a one eighty spin before easily appearing right in front of Duran again only slightly to the right and launching his foot powerfully into Duran's gut.

Duran struggled for air, clutching his stomach, he had coughed up a bit of blood but mostly saliva from the attack.

"With this basic level of Kaioken, I should be able to keep the strain to a minimum, but I should still finish this quickly and go help Piccolo." Krillin thought. He rushed to Duran and hurled his fist at the brown alien's face. Then another several punches against his chest, and gut, as well as his head.

Krillin finished his combo move by slamming his lower leg against the left side of Duran's head, allowing the brown alien to plummet to the ground. He then placed his two hands in front of them, connected them together while pulling it towards his waist.

Blue sparklets of energy gathered, swirled in between the palm of his hands as he chanted the words. "Ka..me...ha...me…"

As Duran neared the ground, Krillin said one final word and shoved his hands forward. "HAAAAA!"

The energy sphere that floated in front of his two hands erupted into a long torrent of energy, consuming Duran with it.

"...At least now...despite all of my sins, perhaps, I can finally be laid to rest, and return to my kin from Spa'iksa in the afterlaid. I at least hope so." Duran's last thoughts had echoed through his mind, as his flesh burned almost instantly from the ki wave.

To be continued…
