Strap in. This is an intense one.

I own NOTHING from The Owl House.

One day of peace was just the right amount Boscha needed before she wanted to make the next step in her goals. Tension that built up for days in regards to earning Skara back admittedly did a number on her energy, making her more tired than she would normally be after a Grudgby match. Although Skara had been a crush of her's for a while, she was still easier to get the trust of than her next step: Amelia.

As much as she wished it never happened, Amelia was clearly hurt by Boscha's actions, which made it more surprising when she sent her a PM last night about potentially joining them in a Plant track class. Especially since she made it clear to Luz that she didn't want her telling anyone else besides Willow and Gus. Though maybe she forgot to tell them not to tell other people they knew, and Willow could've been the one to tell Amelia what she had learnt from her recent events.

But why of all people was she the one willing to open up to Boscha after everything the three-eyed girl spat at her? Was it really that convincing?

All this stuck to her mind as she approached the front of Hexside. She was on her way to Principal Bump's office for a chat. The only way for her to attend a training lesson was to get permission from him to do so, but would he be willing to do it in the first place? While Boscha was seen as a student of high talent and class by him initially, all that could've changed if he heard about the events at the festival, especially the part with Amity. This might be harder than she initially led on.

FInally making it to the office door, she lightly knocked quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. She heard a faint 'come in' from inside, knowing that Bump was in there. She quietly opened the door and closed it behind her, finding Bump at his desk writing down notes. But he was quickly alerted by the sound of his door opening.

His look seemed neutral, hard to tell if he was calm or irritated. She had no idea what to do or how to feel regarding the look he gave her. Should she just run and forget she even came here?

"Boscha, what a surprise to see you."

Thankfully, the tone sounded calm. So it didn't seem like he was too annoyed by her presence. "Surprise, really? I guess I don't come in here as often as I thought."

"Actually, this is the first time you've been to my office in years."

Boscha's eyes widened. "Oh, how about that?" Her quips tried to ease the situation, but prolonging her presence could get under his skin. "Sorry, I wanted to ask you something."

"I must say Boscha, you seem to be getting quite a bit of talk from the school this week. And it's not even Grudgby season."

Boscha almost felt her heart sink. Was he really about to lay down what he had heard about her actions? There seemed like a gloom chance that he may not offer her what she's looking for as a sort of punishment for what she did.

"But I will say, I'm quite happy for you."

She swore she just heard that wrong, throwing her off guard completely. "What?"

"And I'm sure your romantic accomplishments have paid off well enough for you."

Turns out he was only talking about her and Skara recently getting together. Which suddenly hit her that when they first kissed a few days ago, they did it in the middle of the hallway. Where everybody could see them.

And here she was wishing Luz hadn't told Willow and Gus, when clearly everyone saw they were now dating.

She had to stay confident, and not let this dumb mistake of her's blow in her face. "Well, thank you sir! It's pretty awesome to have a date, you know?" She blurted while her cheeks were turning pink.

"But enough of that for now, is there a reason you came in here?" Bump asked.

"Yes, there is actually." Boscha took a moment to breathe, believing she could ask him now with ease. "If it's at all possible, could I accompany some Plant students in their homeroom today, you know that whole thing that started with two tracks combining magic? I've uhh... been wanting to show more of my capabilities."

"Ah yes, ever since Luz showed up we've been meaning to give that a start." Bump replied. "Well, we are in the middle of the semester, and doing it now could put a damper on the teacher's schedule. Plus, I am unsure if I should be giving this position to you, especially after what had happened at the festival."

Shoot. Now he was talking about it, like he was waiting for that opportunity to catch her off guard. "H-How did you know about that?"

"It was quite the talk of the school the day after it had happened. I heard Ms. Blight was quite distraught over everything that had happened."

Boscha sunk in her seat, almost to where Bump could only see her head. To her it felt like a prolonged way of saying no, and guilt tripping her into even thinking of coming to see him. She already felt horrible for what she did to Amity, but having that being rubbed in by her own principal was practically killing her.

"And that's quite a lot coming from our top Grudgby player. I may let you get away with murder once, but even I think humiliating one of your friends is crossing the line quite a bit there, Boscha." He closed his book and started to stand up from his seat. "Perhaps it's within my duty to put you in the Detention track for your actions, had it not been for what I've heard about you."

Her head shot up. "What?"

"There is a reason Skara must've found something special within you, and even I can tell a change within the worst of people. Especially if Edalyn is anything to go by." He chuckled a little. "And when it comes to you Boscha, I can tell you mean it."

"How?" She asked faintly. What was it that made her seem so much better to Bump than she did before, when he didn't even see what happened with her and Skara?

"Because this is the most sincere I've heard you talk in quite a while."

Boscha realised that Bump did have a point there. She couldn't tell for a while, but she used to have this condescending and mean tone to her voice almost everytime she spoke, sounding like she hated almost every single person on the Boiling Isles. She figured it wasn't until after that night at the Owl House that she thought she sounded any different.

Does it really take as little as a sincere voice to let someone know they've changed? Boscha knew that wasn't going to work out well for Amelia.

"So, I'm willing to give you one more chance. I'll enlist you accompany some Plant students in their homeroom after lunch," Bump finished.

"Really?! Yes! Thank you thank you thank you, sir!" Boscha said excitedly, before trying to ease herself.

"But I don't want anymore trouble, or else I'm putting you in the Detention track for sure." Bump warned her, and sat back down at his desk to finish his notes. Boscha just quickly left his office with a smile of hope on her face. Now that Plan A had worked, Plan B was getting her friend back.

As long as that would make her happy too.

Before all of that though, Boscha wanted some lunch to fill her up before her next move. After she grabbed her bowl of food from the front, she went to her usual table to chow down. She was also waiting for Skara to show up, so at least she wouldn't be lonely during the time.

In the meantime, she curiously glued her eyes to where Luz was sitting with her friends. Her usual optimism and happy persona made this a delight to see. Boscha thought it was crazy that just weeks ago, she was so annoyed from Luz that she practically wanted her to go away. Now here she is, taking in the nice scene to ease her tensions.

Then a shadow loomed over here, but once she looked, it wasn't who she was expecting to see. In fact, it was someone she forgot to even see.

"Cat?!"

"That's an interesting way of saying hello," the Healing student smirked.

Rubbing her eyes, Boscha almost forgot about Cat. Possibly due to the fact that she was never involved with Boscha's drama in the first place, taking a backseat while Amelia and Skara got the worst of it. Forgetting she even had to tie those knots though did make her feel a bit down, however.

Speaking of Skara, she was seen standing behind Cat, smiling towards her girlfriend with a thumbs up and letting the moment commence.

"So... what brings you here?" Boscha asked quietly.

"Skara was telling me about how much you changed in the last few weeks, and I wanted to say congratulations on you two becoming a thing!" She excitedly shakes Boscha's hand, much to her surprise. "And I believe you've done enough to earn my trust again."

"I did?!" The three-eyed girl asked in shock.

"I've seen what you've done with Skara, and what you're gonna do with Amelia, and I'm on your side." Cat replied, noticing that Boscha looked a bit gloom. "What's the problem?"

"I... I forgot I even had to tie knots with you..." Boscha blurted. "Some lousy friend I was."

"Well duh, of course you forgot. Because you didn't even need to patch things up with me in the first place!" Cat explained, causing Boscha's eyes to lift up. "I mean yeah I was basically going off what Skara told me about your actions, but you never really said anything horrible to me. So really, all I needed was some good convincing and proof to see if you've changed, and here we are!"

"Wow, that's really considerate of you." Boscha replied, a smile growing on her lips. "Thanks Cat."

"My pleasure!" Cat smiled, taking a seat next to Skara so she could sit with her girlfriend. "I'm easy to convince, so once I saw your turnaround, I had to ask Skara all about it."

"Yup!" Skara replied happily. "I told her all about how mucb better you became, and the lengths you went through to try and make me happy!" She leaned forward and leaved a kiss on Boscha's cheek, turning both of their cheeks pink.

"Just make sure you won't do anything too violent towards Darvyn." Cat giggled.

"Well I did get you two back, but not Amelia." Boscha pointed out. "But after lunch, I'm gonna go to the Plant homeroom to try and rekindle things with her. Managed to convince Bump to let me try that new activity where a witch can help another in a different track to try and combine magic."

"Sounds pretty neat," Cat replied. "And what about Amity?"

Boscha's eyes widened, all three of them. Cat and Skara hadn't known about what happened when she encountered Amity, but part of her felt obligated to keep that a secret, as not to ruin the mood the three of them were having. But they were quick to notice her reaction, and immediately got nosey. "Or did you try that already?"

"Umm..." She paused for a moment to let that memory sink in. All while trying to remain strong and not lose it. "Let's just say that Amity hates me more than anyone she knows now. I... encountered her a few days ago, and she said a lot of not very nice things. To be fair, they were completely justified after everything I did to her, but regardless I don't think I'm gonna go near her again anytime soon."

Skara and Cat glanced at each other for a bit, and nodded with Boscha in agreement. "We understand Boscha," the former spoke first. "Amity wasn't really that happy with any of us. Yeah she sees me as a friend, but that's about it."

"That's the thing though, she sees you better because you didn't do as many bad things to her compared to me," Boscha explained. "And it bottled up her emotions for so long that she just let it all out."

"She must've sounded really angry, didn't she?" Skara asked, to which Boscha nodded in response. "Okay, I get you now."

"Do you know how it must've felt for her to get pushed away from her best friend, and stuck with people who hardly care about her and show no remorse for their actions?" Boscha sighed sadly and buried her head into her arms. "That's why it's better for me to just stay away from her."

Skara scooted closer to Boscha and gently lifted her eyes to meet her's. She wasn't about to let her determined girlfriend feel so down in the dumps. "Now listen to me Boscha. You have a set goal, and Amity has nothing to do with it. You gotta tell Amelia how sorry you are for what you did to her, and make her feel like a valuable person who deserves all the love that comes her way. Nobody who hangs out with Willow deserves to be treated badly."

"I know," Boscha nodded in agreement. "This just won't be easy for me."

"I believe in you." Skara smiled, stroking Boscha's cheek and leaving a kiss on her other. "I know that sounds pretty corny, but you should know I'm new to this whole romance business."

"Eh, you're tolerable." Boscha snickered, which made Skara laugh in return. It felt weird how she could still be a bit teasing, but do it in a friendly manner that could at the very least make Skara laugh. It was something she wished she did before, because it's all the more satisfying to be that way.

Eventually though, the school bell's shriek echoed through the school, signaling to Boscha that it was time to proceed with her plan. She glanced to her two friends with worry. Cat gave her a thumbs up to encourage her.

"You can do this Boscha, I know you can!" she cheered on, before leaving to go to her next class. Skara simply gave a thumbs up too and left to her class. Boscha turned to see Willow and Amelia meeting up to go to Plant class. By now, Bump would've informed the Plant homeroom teacher about her enrolment to collaborate magic, so now all she needed to do was go there.

And the simple steps to actually get to that location felt like Boscha was going in a snail's pace. Despite the enthusiasm from her friends, part of her felt like she wasn't ready for this. How can one face a girl like Amelia after telling her she's worthless when she hangs out with people that are deemed pathetic? Boscha felt like the only pathetic one in that regard.

But pressing on, she took the baby steps to arrive at the Plant homeroom. She put her hand on the doorknob, taking a deep breath, and walked into the homeroom with the teacher being the first to greet her. "Ah, Boscha from the Potions track! I see you're here for your trial run of combined magic?"

"Yes sir." Boscha replied.

"I'm quite pleased to have such a Grudgby champion such as yourself enrol in this method!" The teacher said back, which made Boscha admittedly wince from that comment. "Now are there any students you wish to assist with this technique today?"

She wondered why he even needed to ask that question, when her answer was a few tables away.

"Those two."

"Oh, Willow Park and Amelia Bane?" The teacher asked, looking towards their table. "Excellent choices, Willow is a rather skilled Plants student, why she's only been here for a few months and she's already become a top student!"

What is it with people reminding me of that time period?! Boscha immediately thought, quickly moving away from the condescending teacher and where she needed to go.

The second she came face to face with them though, the worries started up again, only seconds ago pushed aside from the teacher. They were still here, and more intense than ever. How is Amelia going to react to seeing her ex-friend after everything that's happened? Will she even think of the possibility of Boscha feeling sorry?

And Willow was on another page for her. While she didn't say as many horrible things to her, actions spoke louder than words. She could very well remember that day during the Grudgby season, trying to steal her newfound attention and literally dumping trash onto her, claiming that's where it belonged.

Boscha didn't deserve a chance after that, so why get it now? That's all she ever thought leading up to this moment.

Willow however, was smiling. Genuinely, it seems. She walked up to Boscha and shook her hand. "Hi Boscha, it's neat to have you in here with us."

While startled initially, Boscha quickly responded back with attempted enthusiasm. "Yeah, neat to be in here too." Something about Willow's tone didn't sound natural. Was she trying to lure her into some kind of trap?

"So, since you're new to this whole thing, you can help me with my plant. I'm nurturing it to help make it strong and healthy." Willow explained, drawing a spell circle to make the seeds grow stronger. "Maybe you could try one of your mixtures to make it even better, you know?"

Boscha however, was barely listening to what Willow was saying, and was looking at Amelia, who was quietly taking care of her own plant, not once glancing an eye towards her or Willow. Like she was trying to ignore her. So why was she the one to message her about coming in here? Granted people can have an easier time messaging someone on Penstagram, but real life has much more challenges.

At the very least, Amelia didn't seem sad or annoyed, just fairly neutral.

"Boscha?"

She quickly snapped out of it, turning back to Willow. "Sorry Willow, I got a bit distracted."

Her smile grew when hearing those first two words. The little things can mean a lot to her. "That's okay, you wanna help me nurture my plant?"

"Oh sure." She pulled out her bag of mixtures on standby for any important situations. "So what do you guys even do in the Plant homeroom anyway?"

"Well as you can see right now, Plant students can do lots of things with their magic. What we like to do is raise our own plants, and make them look strong and fearless." She demonstrated with her plant, who was growing larger and larger each second, standing proud above the two girls. "They need to be fed naturally, but magic enhances their capabilities."

"Oh, that seems pretty neat." Boscha looked up at the almost gigantic plant. "So, what do you need me to do?"

"Go ahead and try one of your potions on it! It may enhance its magic even more." Willow replied.

Listening to her gesture, Boscha reached into her bag and grabbed a bottle of mixture. She gave each of them labels so she wouldn't get confused which one was which, and potentially cause some harm. The last thing she needs is Willow or especially Amelia thinking she's trying to get some payback on them.

She strolled up to the base of the plant and poured some pink liquid. According to the label, it describes giving witches a monumental boost in strength to help them out in tough situations.

Instead, the plant grew even bigger, with its vines getting even thicker than before. The living plant looked at itself with confusion, but ease with the new strength. Boscha was relieved that was the most it could do, no damage needed to be done here.

Needless to say, Willow looked impressed. "Wow, that's a great mixture, Boscha." She smiled as she said this, almost giving Boscha a soft smile in return. She was relieved that Willow seemed to be okay with helping her out.

Yet it ate her up more that she never noticed how impactful Willow's kindness and care can be. All the time, she would just push her away and treat her like trash when all she would do is get on with her tasks at school, hardly showing a thought or grudge against those that did otherwise. Even when Amity used to pick on her, Willow still felt more than happy to take her in again.

Boscha was never a childhood friend of her's, and she's still willing to embrace others as long as they give the same love and care back. Willow almost seemed like she wanted to start over, embrace a new lifestyle with Boscha, and try new things.

Before she could say anything, the Plants teacher came between them, enthusiastic by what he saw. "Splendid work, you two! This girl looks even better than she did before!" He stroked the plant's vine in pride. "I think this new magic technique can be a benefit for this track!"

"You never know sir, it very well could be." Willow replied.

"Yeah..." Boscha whispered.

"Keep up the good work you two, especially you Willow." He gave her a gentle pat on the back and then went over to Amelia. "Amelia, I see you're up to date with the project so far."

"Yes sir," she replied calmly. "I've had help from Willow to make sure my plant is as strong as she can be."

"And one that doesn't eat people, might I add?" The teacher chortled, getting an unamused reaction from Amelia in return. Even Willow had to wince from that harsh comment. "Now then, continue on with your projects students!" He happily strolled back to the front of the room, leaving the girls where they were moments ago.

"Yeah, the teacher can be kind of a pain." Willow whispered. "I bet your teacher's a lot nicer."

Boscha simply gave a shrug, and turned back to the plant Willow had. But in reality, she was trying to hide the guilt on her face, as not to spark an awkward conversation. It was clear what Willow wanted to do, simply forget everything and start a new chapter.

But Willow wasn't stupid, and Boscha had to know that someday. "Boscha, what's wrong?"

Her eyes widened.

Briefly glancing at Amelia, she still wasn't looking at them, glad this couldn't get anymore awkward.

Willow was still staring at Boscha, however. "Are you scared to talk to me?"

Boscha had to say no to that, with a simple shake. But she stopped, and started at Willow. She was pondering over what to say, trying to not make this seem anymore awkward.

Much like Skara though, Willow didn't deserve a lie. Although she swore she felt a lump in her throat, she finally spoke.

"Willow, what did you even see in me to bring me in here?"

The plant girl gasped briefly, but eased to explain. "Simple, Luz told me about what's been going on with you. How you tried to hook Skara up with her ex-boyfriend, and in return wanted to be your girlfriend instead. Or that you and Luz started getting along when she saved you from the boiling rains. Point is, Luz told me you were changing, and I can see that you're changing."

"But... why? I did so many horrible things to you. I picked on you so many times, even dumping trash on you!" Boscha cried.

"So?"

"What do you mean so?! You can't just forgive someone for being a monster!" Boscha quickly quiet down, trying not to get too loud and make a scene. She clearly looked confused by everything Willow told her, thinking she didn't deserve that chance.

Unbeknownst to her, even Amelia was finally glancing an eye at her.

"Boscha, sometimes all it takes for someone to forgive you is the little things. Some may think you have to go through trial and error and really pull your brains out to make a big act of remorse for those you care about, but that's not always the case." Willow placed a hand on Boscha's shoulder. "Yes you have bullied me, and yes you have done a lot of horrible things, but I know you're not the same Boscha I used to know. You're a new person, a reformed person, a new... well... you.

The three eyed girl gasped, and actually felt touched by what Willow had said to her. It all started to make sense to her now. Willow wasn't someone who wanted to hold a grudge, and saw what can help someone change for the better.

"You really think that? That I really deserve another chance after all of that?"

"Of course you do," Willow's calming smile grew. "And I'm sorry for ever doubting you. I was too caught up in this mindset that you wouldn't change, and your attitude was kinda proof of that."

Boscha didn't realise it yet, but she had tears in her eyes. Willow apologising to her for nothing, and thinking she did something wrong, when Boscha did thousands. This was really going to keep happening to the new her.

"I'm..." she quickly sniffled to wipe the tears away. "I'm sorry, too. For everything I've ever done to you, Willow." She cleared her voice before she continued. "You're more than Half-A-Witch, you're a powerful and strong one. I know we kinda won during our Grudgby match, but even I felt a bit afraid to admit you were really g-"

She was quickly interrupted when Willow hugged her.

Boscha looked shocked, yet again.

An actual hug from Willow, of all people? After all that? She never imagined a second in her life where Willow should show her any kind of affection, regardless of the circumstances.

It didn't feel natural. And yet... It was feeling...

Nice.

The tensions were easing, every passing second. Boscha has never hugged Willow in her life, because she never tried to. That emotional wrapping wasn't seen by her before.

And she's been getting to feel that new form of love, for a while. First Luz, then Skara, and now the very girl she bullied for years. Actually wanting to be her friend, despite everything that led up to this point.

All thanks to a simple form of remorse.

Now it was up to her to return it.

Slowly, but surely, Boscha's arms made contact with Willow, and she gleefully hugged her back. It felt good to get a hug, but it felt even better to return it.

Her eye still caught Amelia, and she didn't even notice. But her ears were twitching.

Did that mean she was listening?

Eventually Willow and Boscha broke from the hug, and resumed their experiments. "Hey, you got any potions that act like water?"

"Well, that's kinda risky." Boscha replied. "Potions are always of different mixtures, we've never really tried one that greatly increases one's hydration." The keyword she noted was that she never tried, pulling out a mixing pot and some spoons. "But that doesn't mean I can't give it a shot."

"Ooh, this'll be fun!"

Boscha poured some blue mixtures into her mixing pot, and did a few slight jabs with her spoon to make it less solid. Then she began to mix it together, with steam slowly beginning to boil from it. Willow made sure the steam stayed under cover, as not to irritate any of the plants. They both shared a brief glance, and smiled, albeit Willow having a larger one.

"I said it once and I'll say it again, you are really good at potion mixing, Boscha."

"Well, they don't call me top Potions student for a reason." She quickly reverted. "Oh sorry, was that rude?"

"Not at all. You are a powerful Potions student, and I can see that." She fanned off some of the steam, until the potion was ready.

"Here we go!" Boscha presented to Willow. "One new mixture that hopefully doesn't backfire."

"Shouldn't you find something to test it on first?"

Boscha noticed a growing flower by one of the pots that were kept by the teacher. Making sure he wasn't looking, she poured a little bit of the mixture to see what would happen. To her relief, the flower stood up straight and looked healthy.

"You're lucky the teacher didn't see that." Willow giggled.

"It's a young flower, it's not like the results would do anything damaging." Boscha smirked.

"And if they did?"

"Then I'll take the blame."

"Wow, that's something you never would've said beforehand."

"Don't have to repeat it three times, you goof."

Willow laughed in response to Boscha's replies, which in turn, caused her to laugh too. Although Boscha didn't notice, Amelia was finally looking towards the two of them. The neutral look was still glued on her face, but she didn't look bothered.

That was, until that look changed into something more joyful.

Amelia looked happy for them. Happy that Boscha seems to have changed. But that thought melted away, because Boscha still had some making up to do with her, since being friendly with Willow wouldn't do it.

But her friend only said something moments ago.

Boscha, sometimes all it takes for someone to forgive you is the little things.

That put things into perspective.

Knowing the test worked, Boscha began to pour the potion into the plant's mouth, licking its lips from the taste of it and looking refreshed when it was finished. Willow however was quickly alerted by a familiar face calling to her.

"Hey Willow?" Jerbo called out. "My plant's acting a bit cranky, can you try and calm it down?"

"Sure thing Jerbo!" Willow replied, before turning back to Boscha. "Hey, while I'm over there helping Jerbo, can you feed the plant some seeds? It's time for it to be fed."

"Sure, no problem." Boscha shrugged.

"Zohar has the seeds I need for my plant, try asking him for it." Willow suggested, then going over to Jerbo to help him out.

The request was as simple as that, grab some of the seeds to feed Willow's plant. Easy as done. She was making good progress on Willow's plant, and hopefully her helpful acts will make Amelia see how much of a nicer person she is.

She went over to where Zohar was, but noticed he actually had two bags of seeds, packaging looking identical but with slightly different writing. "Hey, Zohar is it? Can I borrow the seeds for Willow's plant? She said it has to be fed."

The boy in question turned back to Boscha, but was immediately surprised. He was a fan of her, being a Grudgby captain and all that. So the nerves were striking. "Boscha, of the Banshees?! It's s-such an honour to meet you!"

"Look, can we please not get into that right now?" Boscha asked gently, not in the mood for any star strucken scenarios. "I just want the seeds for Willow's plant."

"Oh! Sure! Anything for you, B-Boscha!" He swiftly turned to both of his bags of seeds, but he couldn't remember which one had the right ones. He glanced at both of them, and vaguely remembered which one he needed to give to her. Once he did, he handed it to her in the blink of an eye. "For you, champion!"

"Please, stop." Boscha groaned in annoyance. She didn't want to come off as a jerk, but she was allowed to be annoyed if people wouldn't stop going on about her status. She simply faced her back and went back to Willow's plant.

As she opened up the bag of seeds, Willow's plant leaned forward and stuck its tongue out, prompting Boscha to pour some into its mouth. At first, it simply stood back up and munched on the seeds, proceeded by swallowing them.

For a moment, Boscha knew the seeds were the right ones the plant needed. If Amelia could only take a second to notice. She was still focusing on her own plant, briefly catching eye of it before it could do anything stupid.

Boscha thought now was a good time to speak to her. But she was quickly interrupted when Willow's plant started making a funny noise. It was twitching, even spitting some seeds that were still in its mouth.

Then foam started coming out of it. And it was starting to growl, getting louder and louder with each passing second.

It sounded angry.

Boscha started to slowly step back, realisation sinking in that she might've gotten the wrong seeds. If only Zohar just remembered which specific one was correct, this wouldn't seem so bad.

The plant growled even louder, and looked like it was trying to get off its base. But given it was buried deep into its socket, there's no way it could escape, right?

But all of a sudden, the socket was emerging from its base.

Finally, Amelia took notice. But not for the right reason.

Within seconds, the giant plant emerged from the socket, and let out an ear piercing screech that alerted the entire room. It was furious from the seeds, and looked on the verge of kill.

"Boscha, what happened?!" Willow quickly rushing back to see what was going on.

The poor girl could barely comprehend what to say, far too distracted by the new threat in the homeroom. The plant didn't have any legs, but it could still move freely wherever it needed to.

And Boscha was her first target.

"ROGUE PLANT! ROGUE PLANT!" the teacher screamed. "Everybody evacuate the room!"

Soon enough, most of the students fled the room, Jerbo needing to help an unconscious Zohar out, thanks to the shock he got from what happened. Willow, Amelia, and Boscha though, were still in the room because of the plant standing in their way. Amelia was hiding in the corner, completely terrified of the situation. In her life, she's never seen anything this scary. Not even the time she nearly got eaten could compare to what was happening right in front of her eyes.

Then, the plant lurched forward, about to chomp Boscha to death. She cowered in fear, not ready to face death.

But Willow stepped forward, quickly conjuring her magic to try and suspend the plant's movement. With all her strength, Willow tried the best she could to make sure it wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Willow!" Boscha cried.

"Boscha, take Amelia and get out of here!" Willow replied, frantically keeping at it with her spell.

"I'm not leaving you here!"

"Just get out of here! I can hold it!"

Willow's fingers crunched up, putting all her force into the spell in a desperate means to get the plant to stop moving. But thanks to the potions Boscha had given it, it was slowly starting to raise above her. Granted it was slow, but the movement was seen in front of her own eyes.

She couldn't believe it, her best powers weren't making a dent on it. She didn't want to have to resort to desperate measures, not for the same plant that she nurtured for weeks at this point. She couldn't give that up.

The plant was willing to give that up though, because within a split second, Boscha was even more horrified.

It grabbed Willow with its mouth.

"WILLOW!" Amelia cried out in fear.

As of now, this might've been the most scared Boscha has ever felt in her life. A giant plant that emerged from the ground, literally about to kill anyone it came accross. And Willow was on the line to be next. In some way, Boscha realised people might think this was her fault. After all, she was the one who took those seeds in the first place and fed them to the plant. Yes it was Zohar who gave it to her, but did she bother to check beforehand?

Not only did it feel like Willow was in danger, but so was everything leading up to that point. Amelia looked too scared to do anything, that Boscha almost went completely mindless.

...

No.

Boscha was not going to let this happen, not after everything she's been through with Willow right now. Not right after she gave her encouragement and a reassurance that despite everything she did to her, Willow gave her a chance to be her friend.

And she was going to prove to be that friend.

In a frantic move, Boscha started strangling the plant. The years of Grudgby practise really proved how strong she was, and she pulled hard to force the plant to spit Willow out. She was not even considering sparing it, because Willow's life mattered more.

Pull, after pull, Boscha strangled the plant with all her strength, until the plant eventually spat Willow out onto the ground, covered in yellow saliva that was literally making her shake in terror. The things one may see in a plant's mouth couldn't always be pleasant. Amelia, despite her scared state of mind, quickly went over to Willow to help her out.

"Willow, are you okay?!" she cried out.

"I... saw... some horrible things..." Willow stuttered.

Seeing that Willow was out, Boscha let go of the plant's core, but that made it even more angry. It now turned its attention to her, and was ready to eat her alive.

In her defense, Boscha threw a few chairs at its front to distract it long enough. She had a target that could wipe the plant out for good.

She leaped towards her bag of potions, frantically grabbing some potions that she needed. They were colour coded red and black, but she never explained what they can do to her friends.

In order to get the plant to open its mouth, she needed to play bait.

It was horrifying, but she needed to put it to an end.

She ran right up to the plant, awaiting the right moment. As soon as the plant opened its mouth, she threw both viles into its mouth.

It quickly swallowed the viles, at first not showing any signs from it. Then it started to grow, larger and larger while its once green body was turning yellow.

Then, it blew up.

Yellow saliva and green leaves erupted the entire room, covering everyone that was in it. Just like that, the plant was nothing more than a pile of ash on the floor where it just stood.

The danger was finally over, physically that was.

Boscha fell back on the floor, laying tirelessly from everything that happened within minutes. Although she looked relaxed, she didn't feel relaxed. She just destroyed Willow's plant, within seconds. And there was a sense of guilt that was building up in her body.

Once she slowly sat back up, Willow and Amelia were in a state of shock. Both staring at her.

The panic was settling in for Boscha, because she couldn't even tell if they were angry or relieved of what she just did.

The worst part for Boscha? This was the only time she saw Amelia looking at her, during what appeared to be something that she caused. After all, she was with Willow's plant when it happened, so she could very easily pin the blame on her for the massacre that unfolded.

And since Boscha didn't say anything to her, what kind of stunt was this supposed to prove?

That she was still a miserable excuse of a friend.

Moments passed, and soon all the Plant students came back into the room. While they all looked relieved that the danger had passed, the teacher looked mad.

"BOSCHA!" he erupted. "WHAT HAPPENED TO CAUSE ALL OF THIS?!"

"I...! I... might've fed Willow's plant the wrong seeds!" Boscha stuttered. "B-But I only got them from-!"

"WELL, THAT SEEMS TO EXPLAIN EVERYTHING! You thought you could just come in here, acting like you're reformed from your despicable actions, and you did THIS because you thought it was funny?!"

"Sir! It wasn't my fault! I swear!"

"ENOUGH EXCUSES!" The teacher yelled. "I was stupid to think you might've been a decent Plants student! And clearly this whole mixture of tracks idea was bad from the start!"

At this point, Boscha didn't have the courage to dignify that with a response. Everything went out the window within minutes, and it seemed like Willow would never trust her again.

Amelia may not trust her either.

Even worse, if Skara found out, there's a chance she might actually break up with Boscha over all of this.

"You're coming with me to Principal Bump's office!" The teacher exclaimed, before yanking Boscha's wrist and forcing her out of the room with him. She tried to press her ankles against the floor to stop him, but it was no use.

The other Plant students just stared at her, especially Willow and Amelia. But unlike what Boscha was thinking, they didn't look angry at all. Willow lost her cherished plant, but she could've lost her life.

And Amelia was really beginning to see the full picture, without even saying a word.

The teacher burst into Bump's office with Boscha, pushing her forward until she was in front of his desk.

"Principal Bump, I've come to make a report!" The teacher explained.

"I heard a loud noise coming from down the hallway. Is there a reason for this?" Bump asked the Plant teacher, him and Boscha standing in front of his desk.

"Yes there is, Bump!" The teacher barked, pointing at Boscha. "This young lady caused one of the Plants in my classroom to go berzerk and wrecked nearly the entire room! It could cost us millions, and it's all her fault!"

"Is this true?" Bump glared.

"Sir, it wasn't my fault!" Boscha pleaded. "I was asking one of the other students for some seeds to feed Willow's plant, and he gave me the wrong one!"

"Oh yeah?! Well if that's the case, why didn't you bother checking?!" The teacher replied back.

"That is a good point." Bump sighed.

Boscha's chances to prove herself innocent were getting slimmer and slimmer. Nobody was there to back her up and prove herself innocent, because she was all on her own. "Principal Bump, I'm telling you! I didn't do it!"

"But your lack of responsibility proves otherwise!" Bump replied, his tone sounding more angry than before. "Feeding someone else's plant with the wrong seeds and not bothering to check! Do you know what kind of casualties it would've caused?!" Boscha sunk towards the floor, tucking on her skirt. "I thought you might've changed, but it seems as though your act of genuine care was a literal act itself."

"Exactly your point!" The Plant teacher replied. "She almost got Willow killed!"

Hearing Willow's name caused Bump to give Boscha a cold stare. He was well aware of her former hatred towards Willow, no matter how often he'd let her get away with it. "So that explains it."

"Sir, I'm telling you!" Boscha cried.

"Enough excuses, Boscha." Bump replied. "I'm afraid I have no choice, but you've proven to me how irresponsible you really are. And those like you deserve to go into the Detention track."

Boscha gasped. She would literally take anything but the Detention track, because that was a literal sentence of an end to her magical capabilities. "No! Not the Detention track! Principal Bump, I'm telling you! I didn't do it!"

"You might as well stop complaining Boscha, you've done enough." Bump made his word clear, Boscha had no way to get out of this, and she had no proof otherwise.

He lifted his finger, and was ready to take away her yellow sleeves into dark and depressing gray.

That is, until someone else came into the room in a hurry. Boscha turned to see who it was.

She could hardly believe it.

"Principal Bump!" Amelia exclaimed, coming into the room and standing in front of his desk. She was thankfully looking cleaner for her appearance. "I'm here to tell you that Boscha is innocent!"

Boscha gasped quietly in shock. Amelia, not saying a single word to her, was defending her?!

"Oh, is that so?" Bump asked.

"Yes!" She swiftly presented to him the two bags of seeeds that Zohar had beforehand. "Zohar had these two plant bags, and he handed Boscha the wrong one! I heard him telling her it was the right one! He was cleatly confused by the labels!"

Amelia really was listening to Boscha this whole time? The three eyed girl could barely comprehend what she was hearing.

"I see." Bump looked interested in this proof.

"But not only that," Amelia breathed in before she continued. "Boscha saved Willow's life. The giant plant was so close to eating her alive, if it weren't for Boscha and her quick Potion thinking skills. Sir, if it weren't for her, Willow could've... died!" Amelia had to fight back some tears that were drooling down her eye sockets. "She saved my best friend."

Within seconds, Bump looked completely convinced by what Amelia was telling him. The proof was there, and there was a lot of sincerity in her voice. Boscha proved one thing to him, that the passion in delivery meant someone could be brutally honest.

The teacher however, wasn't buying this. "Well it doesn't matter! Boscha caused millions in damage in the homeroom!"

"That is out of the question." Bump replied.

"What?!"

"Amelia, thank you for telling me all of this," Bump smiled. "It seems I may have judged Boscha too harshly. Thus, I won't be throwing her into the Detention track."

Boscha looked relieved from this statement, but nontheless shocked that Amelia, of all people, came to her aid at the last second after everything they've been through.

"You two may leave now," said Bump. And to that, the two girls slowly left his office, leaving the Plant teacher in frustration that his payback on Boscha for 'ruining the class' was gone.

Seconds after they left his office though, there was a few minutes of silence from the two girls. They didn't make eye contact, or really any sudden movements.

This was a lot to take in for both of them. For the two girls, a lot has happened in the last few weeks. Going from what felt like a forced friendship to a harsh parting at a fun filled place, to whatever it could've been now.

Neither could tell if they were going to be friends yet, nor did they think on what to even say to each other.

Boscha knew they wouldn't go anywhere with silence, and needed to break it.

"Amelia?"

The plant girl slowly turned to make eye contact with her former friend, even having a little smile on her face that was barely noticeable. "H-How's Willow?"

"She's okay, she's just in the first aid room right now. Kinda still shocked after everything that happened." Amelia explained.

"Okay, I get that..." But something still didn't seem right for Boscha. "But... why did you come in and try to defend me?"

"Didn't I make it clear?" Amelia replied gently. "You saved Willow's life. That takes a lot of development and bravery to do."

"I know that! But... really? You still tried to defend me for that?" Boscha asked, to which Amelia simply nodded. "I can't believe you'd even try to do that, considering..." She sighed. "You know..."

"I know what you mean, Boscha." Amelia paused for a second. "But... I could tell that you were changing. It wasn't just what Willow told me, but from what I could see when you two were bonding in our class. You sounded like you were having a lot of fun. That's something the Boscha I used to know would never do in a lifetime."

A small nose laugh escaped from Boscha. "That's true... Still, that's Willow's side of things. I didn't even get to say anything to you, let alone anything from you either."

"I'm sorry about that. I was just... a little scared about how to approach all of this."

Boscha felt heartbroken from that. "No, don't ever be sorry. You did nothing wrong. You're not the one who acted like you were better than me, you're not the one who told me my social life was ruined because I hung out with someone you hate! You're not..." She gasped to contain her air. Amelia could tell she was on the brink of tears, which even then seemed more shocking than ever. Boscha would never cry, especially when they were friends.

This really did seem like a new her.

"You're not the one who told me I'm worthless..."

Amelia put her hands on Boscha's shoulders, almost making her jump as she looked at her. "I know you said all of those things. And it still hurts, sometimes. But you know what, Boscha? Before today, I didn't think you'd change. But look at you. You actually bothered to come to the Plant class with us, and you wanted to make an effort to be better. Because do you know what Willow said?"

"...What?"

Amelia was beginning to feel some liquid in her eyes too. "Sometimes all it takes for someone to forgive you is the little things. And you doing all this for Willow, is all I need."

And just like that, Boscha's floodgates opened. Shaking in weakness, she almost felt like she could hardly keep herself together. Her former friend showed nothing but resentment ever since that day at the festival, but today changed all of that. Acting more like a supportive ally than someone with a grudge. Willow was right about everything. Boscha didn't need to take big risks to do the right things, because all Amelia could see was a new her that changed for the better.

Losing a first friend is a painful thing to happen in life, no matter how much Amelia grows over the years. What she thought was a cold stuck up rich girl, transformed into a person.

A person who cared.

Once Amelia saw the tears flowing down, she decided to do something she hadn't done in weeks. She leaned forward, and embraced Boscha in a warm and gentle hug as she cried onto her shoulder.

"I'm sorry! For everything I said to you Amelia!"

"It's okay... It's okay." Amelia whispered gently. "I forgive you."

At the moment, it felt like an eternity was flowing by as the two girls were still hugging, but Boscha needed every second of it. It was never as powerful as when Skara kissed her, but who could blame her? This was the first time she'd spoken to Amelia since the festival, and she was embracing all of her changes.

Amelia didn't even need to say the proper words, and Boscha was never going to force her to say it anyway. But it seemed clear.

She wanted to be Boscha's friend again.

Hooray for Boscha! She's got all of her old friends back that aren't Amity! But despite that bittersweet last note, this story is far from over. Got two more chapters left, and they are going to be BIG ones.
